Takata recall this recall has gone on for a year, there is no fix available. my wife and i each own a 2010 toyota corolla. so when we go somewhere, i have to ride in the back seat or if i have friends, we have to take their car. the dealers can not nor will not offer any recourse. i found out that over 23 million cars are affected by this. the question is: where do we fall in this number for repair. we are trapped with these cars. we live in texas so we are in the "likely" probability due to heat and humidity of airbag accidentally being deployed. we cannot sell the cars, we cannot buy new cars, and toyota will not give us a rental or lease until repairs can be made. i certainly am not paying for that. i believe that toyota (who is ultimately responsible) will never fix this problem. our 2 - 2010 toyota corollas are now 7 years old. my wife is 65 and i am 67, we cannot afford to park these cars to rot and buy more cars. what is nhtsa going to do about this? my second toyota corolla vin# is: [xxx], so you can see i am telling the truth in having 2 of these. i believe that toyota should buy these cars back or allow valuable trade-in prices (not try to steal these cars) from the owner toward a new car. at this point, i will never buy another toyota. our cars, though 7 years old are in otherwise tip top shape, but we are stuck with them from now on. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

Takata recall zone a - g0p (interim g1p) red zone. nhtsa recall no. 16v-340. i received a takata passenger-side airbag recall notice a year ago may 2016 when i still lived in zone a florida. toyota says it still hasn't found a remedy, whatever that means, and keeps telling me i can buy a new car. as you can imagine, i have some thoughts on what toyota can do. newspapers keep reporting that a lot of people haven't taken their vehicles in for takata recall repairs. i believe the real problem is that toyota is dragging its feet. my daughter's subaru had a takata recall this spring and her dealer fixed it the next week! we both live in columbus, oh now. i have to haul my grandchildren so i am very concerned about how toyota is dragging its feet.

Takata recall i received a written notice may 23, 2016 that my toyota corolla 2010 is part of the takata recall. however, it has been 8 months and there has not been additional information via letter or otherwise as to when the remedy will occur and when my airbags will be fixed. i do not drive my vehicle regularly or have passengers in my vehicle for fear that being in the vehicle while it is operating will result in catastrophic failure of the airbags and "serious injury or death" to me or my passengers, as listed in the letter i received as what could happen. this is a hardship for me as i need my vehicle to travel in my city. i would like this airbag remedy implemented immediately so i can safely drive my vehicle and drive with passengers.

Takata recall. have a 2010 toyota corolla that has recall on the passenger airbag. i have a family of 4 and it is inconvenient and almost impossible to have everyone sit in the back seat. i have called the manufacturer and the dealership and asked when will the part be fixed. they said it could be months. i have waited months. i asked for a loaner car and they said no. they tell me to have my family sit in the back seat. i don't feel safe driving my car and on top of that i am still paying for this car. i feel like i am paying for half a car. it is ridiculous! i feel the manufacturer or dealership should give me a loaner. i don't feel safe when someone is in the front seat and sometimes it is impossible to follow the recommendations to have the passengers sit in the back. all of my family does not fit in the back seat. i need my car fixed now or i need a loaner until the dealership can fixed my car. i feel the manufacturer and dealership are lacking in trying to solve this problem. it is not the consumer fault for this recall. they need to solve the problem now! the consumer safety depends on it.

Takata inflators many months ago, i received a notice that the airbags may be faulty and that i should not have anyone in the front passenger seat until this issue is fixed. this is our family vehicle, so that poses an issue right there. but in the interest of safety, we squeeze everyone in the back seat. fast forward to present and my local toyota shop says that after 8+ months, there is still no fix for this issue. we live in florida, which is one of the hot zones, and supposedly we are in more risk of malfunction. one of the reasons i purchased a toyota is for its sturdy reliability and customer service. i can't use the vehicle to transport everyone and i can't in good conscience sell the vehicle knowing the dangers. what is toyota doing about this? i have always loved the toyotoa brand, but this whole situation is putting a bad taste in my mouth.

Takata recall hello, my vehicle has been recalled for 9 months. that means nearly an entire year of not being able to safely transport passengers. i understand this is a mass scale issue that is challenging to solve, but it's also ridiculous for me to spend so much money on a car, only to lose basically 25% of the seat space i pay for. it's caused much difficulty transporting my family, because i'm definitely not allowing anyone to sit in a seat that might kill them. i expected a long wait for this to resolve, but taking nearly a year is bordering on unacceptable. when can i expect toyota to get on the ball? thanks

Takata recall. hello, i got the interim notice on this quite a few months ago. i just contacted toyota of poway to see what's going on and they told me it is still in the interim letter stage. what the heck is going on? you would think they would make the safety of their customers a priority. how can this process go faster? i don't recall when exactly i received the notice, there isn't a date on it so i will just give a guesstimation.

Airbag replacement not available at dealer yet.

Takata recall has not been replaced and it has been about a year and a half and it is on the red zone and the dealer still says, they do not have the parts to replace and they can not tell me what kind of airbag is on drivers side and all they tell me is it's on intermittent recall. how long do i have to stress about driving this vehicle, their solution is just don't have anyone sit in front seat. i take care of elderly parents and they cannot climb into the backseat for doctors appointments, how much more time do i have to stress over this situation?

Takata recall- our toyota still has the recalled airbag in place with no estimated time from toyota on a fix. we are only told not to have someone in the passenger side of the car and to wait for them to notify us of a remedy. this is going on way to long and it is unexceptable to not be able to use our vehicle. they tell me they cannot disable the passenger side airbag in the interim.

Tanks inflators, dealer has had my car since august 2016. they are furnishing a rent car, but mine is just sitting, dead battery and drying tires and oil seals. never started, which is bad for the car. toyota could have just bought the car for what they have paid in rental fees. i am concerned the car won't be worth having by the time i get it back.

My daughter has a corolla and it has a recall notice for the airbag of the passengers side, but there has been no solution since it's discovery and public notice of march 2016. i sent a request to toyota and still waiting for their response. why would this be an acceptable practice to put innocent lives in danger.

Takata recall - i received the recall notice over a year ago regarding my air bags being recalled. to date toyota has done nothing. when i asked at the puente hills toyota i was told they were working on the issue and that was almost a year ago and that i was not entitled to a rental car. these airbags are dangerous and my toddler son sit in the back seat with me as the driver. if there were to be an accident and the air bag deployed with the metal shrapnel that is in it then both him and i could be severely injured or even suffer death. is this what toyota wants on their hands? injuries of a child and a single mother? i want my car fixed and i want it fixed within the next 60 days. i also want my repairs to be done by my mechanic if at all possible because the toyota dealership at puente hills is unreliable and untrustworthy with any repairs they make.

Takata recall. the nhtsa recall number is 16v340. the manufacturer recall number is g1p. my complaint is in regards to the recall effort. before receiving the official letter from toyota for this recall, i had taken my car to my local toyota dealer because for a time the airbag light was turning on and staying on longer than the other lights after ignition. i had heard the news about defective airbags and was concerned. when i took my car in for the first time in early 2016, they told me everything was fine and that there was no need to return unless the light stayed on during trips. when i asked them if it was safe to have someone sit in the front passenger seat, they said it was fine. then, months later, when i got the recall notice from toyota, the letter clearly stated that, i should not have anyone sitting in the front passenger seat. when i took my car in again, they said they were still working on a fix and that it could take months or perhaps even years. apart from the fact i cannot use my front passenger seat for people, the most infuriating part of this is that i was told by people at my local toyota dealer (before receiving the official recall notice), that i could safely have people in the front passenger seat. in addition, i have driven for months concerned about an airbag in my car which could harm or kill me or other people in my car. slightly before learning about the defective airbags, i was involved in a single-car crash with a yellow safety post in a subterranean parking lot entrance in january 2016 (fender bender). while my front bumper had to be repaired, no airbags were deployed at the time. *tr

Car was t-boned by other car & all airbags deployed causing injury to people in vehicle

12/27/2015 i was in a accident. i t-boned a drunk driver because he ran a stop sign. my air bags never deployed. this could have been a very bad situation. he has no insurance. my husband and i bought this car because of the safety and we were never safe at all. we were in motion on a highway going straight. sheriff's office and insurance adjuster were very shocked that the air bags never deployed.

Driver side airbag light on need new ecu for airbag.
