We have classified the 406 complaints from 2010 Toyota Corolla about AIR BAGS into the following categories.
Takata recall.........toyota has almost a year to fix this problem. please make it where my friends can ride in the front seat. this is ridiculous. i purchased this car because of toyota's safety rating march 2010, the next day there was a recall and it has gone down hill since. i paid cash money for my car and cannot afford to purchase another. if the airbags or any other safety recall is not fixed asap and something happens i or my heirs will own toyota! and takata! get busy!!!!!! nothing happened yet but does it have to?
Toyota 2010 corolla brake system failed. the emergency brake went on , while i was driving without me doing anything. the odometer stopped working, brake, check-engine, panic mode and airbag system lights went on. the failure has occurred twice already, first starting as a brake failure, then almost leading to the accident when everything failed at once. almost got into an accident and i couldn't accelerate in the car. i took the car to the dealership and they gave me run around, they still don't know how to fix it or what's wrong with it. this car is beyond unsafe to drive, luckily it didn't lead to an accident and injuries both to me and other drivers. *tr
While driving at 35-40mph around a curve, i has pressed on the brake pedel to reduce speed an the vehicle failed to respond, but accelerated in speed while steering became inpossible to control, it was if the vehiicle was controlling it self. i had been drove into an through a ditch an out, hitting a mailbox, concrete lined driveway exiting the first ditch an entering another also hittng a street sign as well as a mile marker sign, my seat belt failed to lock which lead my head to repeatedly hit the top of vehicles windshield as well as the steering wheel. futhermore the airbag failed to deploy. i suffer from sever headaches, my vision in lt eye although inproved has greatly decreased, as well as memory.
Total loss of vehicle..police report is incomplete of details, due to officer "not believing me" and "purposely leaving report incomplete because of this being the second time out here on this call", when i tried to explain what happen while driving this toyota corolla, however the tow truck driver is a witness and agreed to testify..i have called toyota several times and have got nothing.. property damage was done on third party property as well.
Total lose accident in evansville, in. acceleration increase, no brakes, no airbag deployed and seatbelt never locked!! this has been going on for years now an i want something done.. all i get is put on hold..!
All i remember is feeling scared..and began to pray...as the vehicle accelerated to uncontrollable speeds, and not being able to stop..
I was making a routine turn and lost control of steering. it only happened the one time, police report said car rolled two or three times, total loss to car and injury to driver. i don't remember exactly the cause other than i lost control. can't say any of the recalls did or did not cause the accident. my primary complaint is that i paid for front and side airbags, and none deployed on a car that rolled two or three times. why am i paying for equipment that is not effective? if a car rolls over at minimum the side airbags should have deployed. i would also think this would trigger the other air bags. with all the recalls how would we know if any of these contributed to the crash? i understand the rollover rating applies to the stability of the car, but rating the safety in a rollover accident should also be rated. why don't air bags deploy automatically when car hits sides or the roof? we paid for safety and reliability of the toyota, but it appears that the extra money is wasted. *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2010 toyota corolla. she was unable to stop the vehicle while driving and crashed into a truck. the driver frontal air bag failed to deploy. the driver seat belt also failed to operate normally which caused the contact to sustain injuries. the police report number is 0470200. the vehicle was diagnosed by a dealer. a report was filed with the manufacturer who stated that the air bag did deploy. e current and the failure mileages were 6,000.
My new 2010 toyota corolla has a problem when driven on the interstate. the car wobbles and i am constantly steering to keep it going straight. it doesn't seem stable--as if it's being buffeted by high winds even though it's a calm day. i am afraid it is going to veer off the road and therefore i have tried to avoid driving it on the interstate. i have spoken with the dealership and was informed that all the corollas are like that and it will only be fixed if there is a recall. i will not be able to keep this car if this is not fixed because i am afraid to drive it. *tr the consumer stated the airbag recall has exceeded a reasonable amount of time to be repaired. updated 7/7/17*js
The recall was announced in may, 2016. it is now nearly november. the car may not be safely driven with a passenger. the failure to even offer the repair of a dangerous defect in 7 months, let alone repair it, is unacceptable.
Takata recall: i have called and talked 3 or 4 times to the localtoyota dealership (folsom lake toyota, folsom, ca) in the last year trying to get my car repaired. this last week i was told they have the parts but they weren't interested in having me bring the car in for repair.
