Takata recall. my mother and i received a statement from toyota on 6-9-2016 regarding the takata front passenger airbag inflator recall. it is now 10-26-2016 and the recall part has not been in stock. my 93 year old mother's license expired on 10-16-2016 and we are attempting to sell the vehicle to a private party, but once they know the vehicle is unsafe with no pending date for the recall part to come in, they back out of the transaction. my mother continues to pay car insurance on a car that she can no longer drive and is unable to receive her income from the sale of the car. i had a recall with honda that took no longer than a week and feel that toyota has let us down by going over 4 months with no end in sight. i don't think that a company should treat customers who have owned 8 toyota vehicles. please help us resolve this problem. thank you! *tr

Takata recall i received a notice in the beginning of june saying that their is a problem with the air bag and to not have anyone sit in the passenger side. the notice said that they will send more information once the part is ready. for the last 6 months i have been trying to use my car less, but there are times when as a family of four, we have no choice but to have someone sitting in the passenger side. finally here we are in january and i contacted a dealer asking what is the status of the recall and when i can expect it to be fixed. i was told by the dealer, they have no idea what toyota is going to be doing about this recall. i asked what am i suppose to do in the meantime? i was told i could rent a car! really?! and who would pay for that? me of course. i'm so disappointed in toyota they i have had 6 recalls on my car, and they have taken care of it in a timely manner, but this one that can cause an airbag to be deadly, they are taking their time. how long am i suppose to wait? this is terrible, and shows toyota doesn't care about the well being of their customers. when will toyota be forced to handle this?

There is no resolution - now takata is closing down factory - what does this mean for the consumer?

Takata recall: there is still no remedy for the airbag recall on my car. may to august (3 months) is an unreasonable amount of time to have not fixed this safety issue. the toyota corolla is our family car, and the other vehicle we have is my husband's work truck that is full of equipment. i'm involved in a work 70-80 hours a month that requires me to occasionally transport 1 to 4 other passengers. it was stated in the recall notice that other transportation options are available, but there were no details about how to take advantage of this. i would like to be contacted about my options in this area.

Takata recall - unacceptable time to replace the front passenger air bag. called dealer various times without an replacement time period. toyota seems not to be interested in addressing this issue.

Takata recall- it is unacceptable that i have not been able to get my airbag replaced in the 9 months since my vehicle was included in this recall. i have avoided having any passengers in my car, basically only risking my own safety rather than my loved ones. i should be able to drive the car i spent a lot of money on without worrying about my safety! i thought i was included in the "top priority" set of vehicles to be fixed, but i am still being told there is no remedy available. what is the process to get this fixed asap. i want to be able to safely drive the car i paid good money for. *tr
