So on the driver's side of the car the air bag light is always on even when the car isn't on. i went to the toyota dealership and stated the problem that i had and they insisted that i had to pay, when i got a letter from toyota remedy notice stating that stye can cover for fixing the air bag light. i have the letter with me directly from toyota. so i don't understand why i have to pay for it when i go to the dealership. this absolutely makes no sense and i feel like they are purposely trying to make money off of me. when i have a letter from toyota stating they can pay for the damage.

This car is my mothers car. she is unable to drive. my sister moved here to care for her. she has stage 4 lung cancer. my sister drives her to all her appointments for chemo, tests, etc. this is the only vehicle my mother can get into. this is causing a serious issue in transporting her. so far we are bing told there is no fix to the airbag situation. your recall # 17v006. man recall # g1r. we understand the time it takes to get a solution but she received the recall over a year ago and still shes sitting in the back seat. my sister has to make the choice of sitting my elderly mother or one of her children in front of that airbag or pay a babysitter. this is not fair to either my sister or mother under the undue expenses of my mothers illness.

Toyota' has notified that 2009 corolla has dangerous air bags and the vehicle is not to be driven until the airbags are repaired. toyota has offered a replacement vehicle until our car is fixed but demands that we surrender our car for storage. the dealer denies any responsibility for the storage of our vehicle and only offers outdoor storage for up to 6 months. we have only garage stored our vehicle and long term storage out door storage is unacceptable. the ft, myers toyota dealer refuses any type of liability waiver for garage storage of our vehicle. the demands of the toyota dealer are unacceptable and unnecessary. i would like to file a formal complaint against toyota that the recall and satisfaction of the air bag problem is unacceptable and the repair period of 2 to 6 months is ridiculous.

Takata recall: how could this have a recall and your company is stalling to complete this recall when you are knowing that when driven we can get into a major fatal car accident with the airbags forcing pressure against our bodies and even can burn our face and moreso death can appear during this incident. i was so frightened to think i see the airbag 6 second light light up and blink driving on the highway. thank the lord that nothing happened to cause an accident or a 36o turn multple crash on the rain, mudslide roads..

We received notice for the recall concerning the air bag module. there is a "nationwide part shortage" and no information as to when the part will be available. it could be a week or month the dealer told me. in the meantime, my daughter is driving a vehicle that could have an airbag malfunction which is very concerning to me. toyota is not fixing the defect in a reasonable amount of time so i wanted to submit a complaint.

Takata recall - the manufacturer has failed or is unable to remedy this safety recall for my vehicle in a timely manner. i live in texas which is considered as a higher risk due to the heat and humidity,

Takata recall. we received the recall notice and were told that we would be put on a waiting list for the repair. it has been 4 months and when we called today, were told that they haven't received any parts from toyota at all and that there are still 8 pages of names ahead of us. meanwhile, someone usually has to ride in the passenger front seat. maybe the toyota company thinks it is just cheaper to ignore the recalls and pay the law suite when someone gets killed.

Takata recall still no parts to fix the air bags. it's been over a year

I got letter from toyota said my model car have problem with driver air bag and maybe , if an accident occurs the air bag will not deploy and cause serious risk injury to the driver. and they inform me that their is no remedy for this problem till now. as you know that part its very important to the driver and safety ,i'm always driving long distances and i don't feel safe now with this car and even they found remedy for this problem i will still afraid to drive my car i hope you understand what i feel . thanks *tr

My driver's side airbag light illuminated roughly 5 or 6 weeks ago. i called the toyota dealership in which i purchased the car from back in 2011 and made an appointment to bring the car in to be looked at. when i arrived, i was basically told there was absolutely nothing they could do until the remedy for the recalled airbag became available. i then asked how long it would be, and was told it could be several more months. i have been driving my corolla for several weeks now, since it is my only mode of transportation with a defective driver's side airbag. i have not received any more correspondence from toyota since the first recall letter was mailed back in april of 2014. i am concerned with the danger that this problem poses and i do not see why toyota cannot fix this problem being that the light is on. in the recall letter from toyota it specifically states to contact the manufacturer immediately if the light becomes illuminated because it could pose a danger. i am afraid to drive the car as well as put my teenage daughter behind the wheel because of the fear of having a traffic accident and the airbag not deploying properly. thank you for any assistance you may have. *tr

My wife rear ended a taxi, she complained that the brakes did not stop the car. we had the car towed to the house, i freed the hood and removed the bumper cover to inspect the damage. when i got in and tried the brakes, the pedal went to the floor. when i opened the brake fluid reservoir to check the fluid, the brakes returned to normal. that indicates a vacuum to me, which is not normal.i would like to request analysis of the event data recorder. *tr

Takata recall & water pump. failure to provide replacement parts in a timely manner on the takata air bags. was told not to use front passenger seat. not practical! also, failure of water pump and indicator light to warn of the failure. resulted in total replacement of engine. temperature gauge showed normal when in fact the engine was over heating. car was just over the the mileage of 54,000 in july 2014. we were coming back from a trip to myrtle beach, and it died on the highway three hours from our house in ohio, just as dusk was falling. very frightening not knowing what was going on. no warning what-so-ever. had an expensive tow back to mogadore from new philadelphia, ohio. without a car for three weeks and forced to purchase a re-built engine from toyota. ganley toyota in akron was upset and mr. ganley, the owner, would not even talk to us when we requested an appointment. attached is a list of similar complaints when i looked up water pump failure in 2014. i have not been able to take a vacation since, nor afford a new car. the woman who handles titles was nasty in indicating that we did not purchase the car from ganley. we had received a better price from metro toyota for the car but i don't see why that should make a difference, since all of our maintenance has come out of the ganley akron, ohio dealer. attached is a letter i plan on sending to toyota. the customer never forgets.

After the air bag warning light turned on, i was notified that i had to replace the spiral assembly in the driver's side air bag. almost immediately after replacing, toyota announced a recall for this specific part in 2009 corollas, but are claiming that my 2009 corolla is not included in the recall. *tr

The airbag light in our 2009 toyota corolla (idiot light) came on. when we inquired with the dealer, colonial toyota in lincoln, ri (http://www.colonialtoyota.com) told us that it will be covered in the most recent recall but they are not covering it yet. they refuse to fix the airbag until they can be reimbursed for it. according to toyota corporate, this will be september 2014. i find this unacceptable as we now have a vehicle without an airbag. nor could we sell the vehicle as it would not pass inspection. *tr

I am writing to see if my car's make/model/year should be included in the recent recall of 2003-2004 toyota and lexus cars, relating to inadvertent airbag deployment. about a week ago my airbag warning light came on and hasn't gone off since. after reading about these other model recalls today, and having had 6 other recalls performed on my car due to poor manufacturing, i think it is something the nhtsa should look into. i have contacted the toyota customer service line but was told that for now, my car isn't included in the recall. *tr

My daughter was driving west bound on i20 between exit 189 and 190 on 11/1 when the car accelerated and hydroplane. my daughter was given permission to use my car on this date, the condition was rainy and low visibility. she took feet off gas and proceeded to brake when the car accelerated. as she put her feet on brakes she lost control and crash in guard rail. in the meantime i have checked the data base and there are two recalls on this vehicle. one involved acceleration. the dealer should have had these recalls done before the car was sold which could have helped to prevent the acceleration. someone should be held liable other than the consumer for this mishap. i need to know what is the next step as a consumer. also the air bag did not disengaged. i called the dealership and spoke with [xxx] on 11/6 who confirmed that there are still two recalls on this car and she asked when did i want to bring the vehicle in. why was this not done before purchase. i also spent $2800 on an extended powertrain warranty through the dealership. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

I noticed the air bag light was on. a toyota dealership told me it was the spiral cable in the steering column. a direct quote from the invoice says, "upon inspection found code (b1801-1831-1836) will need to start with replacing spiral cable first may need further diag--." the car was not in any collisions near the time of when the light illuminate. for other toyota owners, the dealership charged me $120 to diagnose the problem and said that it would be $600 to fix. *tr

Illuminated airbag warning light on dash. dealer states it is the clockspring that is bad. dealer said that there have been many issues with these wearing out and that the airbag in the steering wheel will not function until the clockspring is replaced. *tr

Loss of steering at a right bend in the street, think the power went out to the electronic power assist, car went straight into a sign pole with a large cement base, major damage to front end, airbag didn't deploy, seat belt didn't work and there was no power at all to the car even though the battery was not damaged. car was recently at toyota dealership for recall to repair to electrical power window problem to prevent electrical fire, oil change and service done at same time, the car has been well maintained. new tires and brakes. opened a claim with toyota, so far met with apathy and resistance. *tr

the spiral cable sub-assy airbag clock spring, (part of air bag assembly in steering wheel) will not work. resulting in lack of air bag deployment in critical situations. light will activate in dashboard, indicating the air bag is non functional. this vehicle has never been in any major car incident with the exception of some minor bumper scratches and the air bags have never been deployed. i took the vehicle to a toyota dealer and there computer diagnostic report provided several codes with this malfunction, considering the function of this part as a protection against personal driver or passenger injuries. the deployment or lack of deployment in any unexpected event can cause a major accident in driving condition.resulting in personal injury due to manufactures defect of this part. *tr

Takata recall on 7/3/13, left work at 2:30 from fm1960 and aldine westfield. took the on ramp of west loutetta to get off of ramp. i inched up to the intersection and the at&trepairman thought i was going, so, he gunned it. needdlesstosay, i recieved spinal injuries, and the airbag never popped out. years later, it is still indicating as implemented to no avail. i was told that the repairing of this problem is a massive undertaking. of which i thought was going to be taken care of when the car was being repaired.

Driver air bag failed to deploy at estimated frontal impact of 45 mph.
