I received a recall notice months/years ago about the death hazard with these airbags and now i am seeing all over the news that this should have been handled a long time ago and it is recommended that i get it fixed asap, but toyota says they don't have a fix for it yet. unacceptable!

Takata recall i have been fortunate enough not to have an actual "incident", but i am still going to file the complaint on the length of time this recall on the airbag is taking to resolve. i cannot have a passenger due to this and it is extremely inconvenient. i am a single mother and need my vehicle to be in top shape for me and my child. no remedy for 10 months is ridiculous.

Takata recall nhtsa recall no. 16v-340 & 17v-006. why does toyota issue an interim recall notice with no remedy available? i have a 5 passenger car that is now a 4 passenger car (really a 2 passenger car now b/c the back seat is so small) and i cannot carry my whole family in the car. this car no longer meets my requirements because of this recall and the inability to use the front seat. why can't toyota expedite the fix and/or disable the passenger airbag in the meantime? also, if my passenger airbag is made by takata and is affected by the recall, who is to say that my driver's side airbag is any safer? is the driver side airbag made by takata as well? has any investigation been done into the drivers's side airbag to clear it for use? what about the side curtain airbags? why would one side be safe to use and the other not be? can i safety operate my vehicle and depend on my airbag to save me in the event of a crash and not kill me instead? i'm not convinced. there are too many questions and virtually no answers in the recall notice. i expect a prompt, full, and complete remedy of this problem in a timely manner., or toyota is required by law to buy back, replace my vehicle, or offer me a rental for the duration of this recall. it has been over two weeks since i received the interim recall notice, and i expect to hear a response on availability of a fix more promptly than this. this is unacceptable!! toyota has known about this issue for over 2 years with their airbags now and only now am i receiving a notice that my vehicle is affected. what am i to do? sit here and wait another 2 years for a fix? how long will it be?
Takata recall: as the owner of a vehicle affected by this current and serious recall, i have to describe how disappointing it has been to barely hear anything from toyota to keep owners informed. i've probably received only 2, at most 3, letters of info in the last almost 10 months. i've had to drive my vehicle around for almost a year now, almost 12 months, with no rememdy still to replace this hazardous equipment.

Takata recall i just spoke with a customer service representative and they informed that my safety recall will be able to be fixed in december of 2017. it is absolutely absurd that i have to wait until the end of the year for a safety recall. safety recall as in it could endanger the life of any passenger with me!!!!!!!!!
Today is october 23, 2017. i received notice of a defective airbag inflator months ago, and immediately notified the toyota dealer, but am still waiting for repairs. i have just today received notice of the tk holdings bankruptcy case, with a deadline for filing claims of december 27, 2017. i can drive my car, but i cannot allow anyone to sit in the front passenger seat. i know there is a priority system for repairs. how does the bankruptcy filing affect the repair priority?

Brought car to toyota in las vegas for some work and brought a recall notice. tech.said they would have to order and they would contact me and never did.airbag light comes on
Unfortunately i don't have my vin handy for this email. my vehicle is under recall for the takata air bag. currently it is at the dealer for repair. toyota corp. has informed me that repair may not be complete until possibly december 2017. they have provided me a loaner. unfortunately, though i am hesitant to have someone else's vehicle for 9 months and having be responsible for it. in addition my car will be at the dealership laying idle for 9 months which is not good for the car. i have made contact again with toyota corp. to buy the car back, but they are refusing. i explained to them that i am under the understanding that repairs to the vehicle have to be made within a reasonable time, and 9 months is not reasonable. is there any recommendation you may have for me moving forward or is there any recourse of action i may have.

Takata recall: i received notice of the takata recall in march, at the latest, and followed their recommendation of not allowing someone to sit in the front passenger seat. however, with five family members, this is not a viable solution for my family. we cannot fit all of us, let alone guests, in the car and still avoid the recalled air bag. toyota has been good about issuing recalls and providing remedies within a month of the recall, but this has gone on long enough. the recall was issued in january, i received notice in march, and it is now mid-july, with no remedy forthcoming. i am frustrated that a solution has not yet been provided and sincerely hope that this issue will be dealt with before the month is out. *tr

Takata recall: after waiting about 6 months, there is no fix available for the airbag recall in my corolla. i have not used the passenger seat since becoming aware of the recall to ensure the safety of my family. i am due to have our second baby in a matter of months, and when i have 2 car seats in the back, i will be unable to transport my family of 4 safely. my vehicle is the primary vehicle in my family. being unable to transport my family in one car is unacceptable. it is also unacceptable to not know whether the problem will be remedied before the arrival of my baby. my car will not be able to meet the needs of my family, and i am not financially able to purchase a different car because of this. please remedy my car as soon as possible. this must be taken care of in the fall, before my car becomes a major issue for my family. the unknown of how to transport my family in the near future is becoming a major source of stress and will become a major financial burden if it is not remedied by the winter.
Takata recall. i have a 2009 corolla and was sent a letter saying that my passenger airbag was defective. i was informed not to drive with anyone in that seat until it is fixed. this is pretty much impossible for me with my family members. i called my closest toyota dealership and was told i would be given a call back on the status on the part that i would need. well i have not heard anything in 3 weeks and every time i have called again i get the run around. this is completely unacceptable. i cannot have a car that i can not drive my family in. i expect a resolution to my problem immediately.

Takata recall has still not been remedied on my vehicle. i received the recall notice in the mail, attempted to contact my local dealer for repair but was told my vin# was not yet "up" for repair. i followed up with the toyota care# and received a case#. after being told falsely by the service manager that my vin# would be up within the next month, i have been left to drive my car "as is" for the last 6+ months waiting for their call. it is a great inconvenience as i am not allowed to have a passenger in my front seat. i need an advocate to help rectify this situation.
Takata recall : the time it took to be notified of the danger is too long. we've owned the car for almost a year and only received the recall notice in the last two days.how long is it going to take to resolve the issue?
Taking to long to fix problem with recall. i drive my grandkids around and due to the recalli am unable to take them anywhere, in fear of my granddaughter being killed by metal from an air bag.

Takata recall - i have not experience an incident, rather, my complaint is that toyota has no estimated date for when the passenger side airbag will be replaced and i will be unable to allow a passenger to sit in the front passenger seat until that is resolved. at the very least i would like to know that these recalls are being expedited and have an estimated time frame when my corolla will be safely fully functional.

Takata recall. there is still not a fix available. i asked for a loaner car in february 2017 and the dealership said i would have to leave my car outside on their lot. unacceptable as i take car of my car and do not want it out in the elements. i have tried to join the class action and cannot because they didn't yet repair the car. we have gone all this time without anyone being able to ride in the front passenger seat. is there a way to disconnect the airbag? this would seem to be an unacceptable solution as it makes the car less safe.

Takata recall it is unacceptable that there is currently no reasonable time frame for the takata recall to be remedied. it is unreasonable to expect no person to occupy the passenger seat in a 4 person vehicle. this requires a family of 4 to either drive 2 cars and waste money on gas or put themselves at risk by sitting in the passenger seat despite the danger. i am told that a solution is still approximately 9 months away. i have asked toyota to disable the airbag sensor in the seat until the remedy is available and they have refused for liability reasons. there was a time when we didn't have airbags and just used seat belts. why can't we treat this as such. it is not reasonable to expect families to restrain from using 1/4 of their car for potentially an entire year. there's not the option to sell the car because fair market value will not be obtained with such a recall. in short, i want my passenger airbag disabled until a remedy can be provided. this is the least toyota can do.
