The air bag light has been coming on since 2010 i took it in to toyota and was told nothing was wrong. light kept coming on so i took it back in (2011) again was told nothing was wrong, took the car in for a 3rd time in 2012 and was told it was a water bottle that was under the seat. i disagreed with the mechanic cause the water bottle was my daughters from that morning, i told the mechanic the bottle was still cold from that morning so that was not it but that is what they wrote was the cause of the air bag light coming on in the report. i have not taken the care back since because i don't ever get the problem resolved and don't want to pay for them to tell me its nothing, however the light does still come on and remains on for weeks sometimes months at a time. my only concern is that the airbags will malfunction and not work when they should or suddenly go off for no reason. *tr

Driving on 2 lane blacktop road, dog in my path of travel, firmly applied the brakes, car was pulled to the right, went off the road and continued to travel parallel until i struck a gravel entry driveway to a field with the front of my vehicle and then flipped end over end 3 times according to witness finally resting on its top. upon looking at the scene, there was one (1)black skid mark. the highway was dry, there was a very slight incline in the road and it was a straight stretch. the weather was overcast. the insurance company would not investigate my complaint and insisted that i swerved. i called toyota and they "checked the brakes" on the totalled car and the headlight operation. i had called them to figure out what had gone wrong. in their report they said there was nothing wrong with the brakes or headlights. i had reported that prior to this incident that the headlights would go on for no apparent reason at the same location (an area where my cell phone coverage would go out). the accident occurred near an airport which was another area where my cell phone coverage would go out. since i had fractured my sternum and had the discolored imprint of the turn signal on my chest, i thought that the air bag should have deployed on first impact. i questioned the brakes and electronic/electrical system. their report is dated 11/11/2008 and does not indicate a file or complaint number.
Tl*the contact owns 2007 toyota corolla. in october of 2008 while driving approximately 45 mph on the right side of the road the vehicle suddenly accelerated up to 80 mph without warning. he collided into a tree and the driver frontal air bag did not deploy. the insurance company did not investigate the sudden acceleration, or the air bag failure. the police report number was not available. the failure and current mileages were 10,000.
I was stopped at a stoplight on an interstate off-ramp and rear-ended into the car in front of me, car in front into the truck in front of her. when i struck the car in front of me, the air bag did not deploy, despite the increased speed i was thrown forward into that car. subsequently, i have cervical sprain, concussion from hitting the back of my head on my head rest, possible brief loss of consciousness, cephalgia, and many other symptoms and possible injuries. these injuries may have been lessened if the front air bag had deployed and limited my head's path forward with the impact of the front of my car into the back of the other car. *tr
I received notification that takata airbags are defective and to avoid passanger to prevent serious injury or death. why has it taken years to notify me of this? the lives on little people are that important i geuss???
When someone is sitting in passenger seat up front the air bag does not say on. the car dealer at last recall told me not to let anyone sit in front seat because of this. please help me with this. thanks
In 2007, i had purchased a toyota corolla le. i had not noticed this problem until 2 weeks after purchasing the vehicle. the problem lies with the airbag not flushed with the dashboard and creates dips and valleys. the passenger airbag is sunk into the dashboard. after speaking with the dealer, they replaced the airbag and told me to let it sit for a while and the airbag and dashboard would align. however, after letting it sit for nearly two years, it is still the same condition. on almost every oil change, i would complain about the problem to the dealership and they would advise me to give it some more time. i filed a complaint with toyota customer satisfaction department and they researched the case. in the end, the toyota customer satisfaction department told me that there is nothing they can do. they informed me that they have sold many 2007 corolla's that are known to have this problem with the airbag. they cannot guarantee me that because the airbag sinks into the dash, it will deploy when it needs to. *tr
Takata recall
Front end collision a t 40 mph and the airbags did not deploy. my child was injured , and it was the second toyota that i have owned where there was a front crash, and the airbags did not protect the occupants in the vehicle. *ak

Takata recall, we were notified years ago and when contacted the dealer in our area was told no parts were available and the south would be serviced first. also the dealer indicated they would contact us. received a phone call today encouraging us to call dealer again. once again told south serviced first, they would contact us - could take up to 6 months. i think toyota/takata should by back the cars (at a replaceable price of a car of our choice - ie different make).
Tl*the contact owns a 2007 toyota corolla. when the vehicle is started, the instrumental panel lights dim and the air bag icon dims. the dealer stated that it was a factory defect that could not be corrected. the manufacturer stated that repairing the instrumental panel could cause other failures, and possibly a warranty violation. the dealer advised the contact to pay for the repair out of pocket. the speed and fuel type were unknown. the current mileage was 5,000 and failure mileage was 20. updated 04/08/08. *lj
1-takata recall: nhtsa recall number: 15v285, manufacturer recall number: dsf. toyota dealerships have not fixed the problem, though i called them long time ago about it. 2-steering wheel vibrates too much causing hand numbness. 3-brakes are not abs. even in iran, 2007 manufactured cars are required to have abs brake system.
