Corporate gave me a claim # to take to my dealership to get a "loaner" at no charge until the passenger airbag is replaced.. 3 dealerships said it was a rental at no charge, not a loaner, and needed my credit card #. i refused since we both have insurance. no other options were offered other than "do not use the passenger side". it's been 3 months since i received an interim recall notice. i have a family and cannot use my car to full capacity.

Letter from senator schumer on behalf of constituent re 2007 toyota corolla defective passenger air bag. *smd the parts were not available to complete the recall.*jb
I bought the car in october with a recall notice that they would not work on. the only solution from oct till april was to "not operate with passenger in the front seat" i am really disappointed with toyota for taking so long to fix the problem knowing that people are going to ride in the front seat and that they may be at risk!!!!!! i just got it fixed by asking the dealer if the recall could be done yet. the notice came in the mail the next week. i have had other recalls on other vehicles never anything this important and there was never a delay once notified.
I need my passenger side airbag safety recall situation addressed as soon as possible. we need and use our front passenger seat each and every day. that is how the family is structured. please send parts for repair to be done as soon as possible. does this aire bag problem effect the coolant fluid?
My complaint is that toyota has known about this issue for months. the driver of the vehicle is 79 years old and takes others to the doctor on a regular basis. the fact that you acknowledge that the risk is high and all you do is advise the customer that you are working on it and not to sit in the front seat is outrageous. i feel toyota should stop selling cars and focus their attention on this item. if you really want to make a difference either fix the issue or provide a loaner that the consumer can use that does not risk the lives of the passengers. the vehicle was purchased knowing a passenger could sit in the front seat. how can a company like toyota feel this is a good resolution to an ongoing and outstanding issues. i'm highly disappointed and will make sure others know how toyota treats their customers. extremely disappointed consumer!

Regarding: the recall on the airbag (june of 2015 with a letter received in september) there is no solution except to "not use the passenger seat." i have no way to carry 5 passengers without endangering 1 person in the passenger seat. toyota headquarters strung the call out then finally said i could have a loner but would only give his first name (vince.) but my local dealer, grossinger at 1561 n fremont chicago il 60642 put me on hold. i had no response from leaving a message or e-mail. when i took my car in for service the service representative just said "call." when i called grossinger they told me that they don't provide loaners. when i called northside toyota peter solber told me that there is a waiting list and he can't guarantee a car when i would need carry 5 passengers. he provided no other solution. as of 9/30/2015 there is no safe solution for carrying passengers.
