I received notice that my car was included in the front passenger airbag inflator module recall in late august. it states that parts are being "prepared for my location" and they will "send another notification once parts are available". it also recommends that until it can be fixed, i shouldn't have any front seat passengers. after two months, this is getting ridiculous. it is impacting my ability to hang out with friends, or drive my husband around. oh, unless i want them to ride in the backseat, where i look like an uber driver. not cool. i need to know when parts will be available to fix my car, and i need to know that it will be soon. as in, not another two months! i am extremely upset that it has taken this long, and it is such a dangerous recall, yet nothing is being done about it. thank you. *tr

Takata recall - received notice that airbag is defective in august. the part is still not available, and am unable to use passenger seat of my car. this is a huge inconvenience. when will the part be available?

Takata recall-reason for my complaint-i received the safety recall notice in august of 2014 stating that toyota was currently preparing parts for my location and would send another notification once sufficient parts were produced and the remedy could be performed. i never received that second notification and it wasn't until i called my local toyota dealer in january of 2015 that i was informed they were replacing the defective inflators. i feel toyota dropped the ball in their follow up procedures concerning the safety recall involving the takata inflators. having to wait 5 months before this was corrected was totally unreasonable and was due to lack of communication on the part of toyota.

Tamara inflators. i received a letter describing the air bag issue on 8/15/15. today's date is 12/18/15. no one has been allowed to sit in the passenger seat since the initial notice. moreover i am worried that if the bag deploys it may cause the driver to panic and be in an accident. the driver is my college age son who wants his friends to accompany him. we have been beset with this danger for too long. the toyota company is no help at all.

Takata recall - last summer, we received a safety recall notice from toyota regarding the front passenger airbag for our 2006 corolla. we made an appointment at a local dealer (boch toyota south in north attleboro, ma) and brought the car in on august 13, 2015. they confirmed that the car was included in the recall and needed the airbag replaced, but told us the part was on back order. it is now over 8 months later. we keep getting phone calls and mailings from toyota telling us how important it is to have this safety recall work completed, yet the dealership still does not have the part. today both the local dealership and the toyota representative at the phone number listed on the most recent safety recall mailing confirmed that the part was still on back order. we asked the toyota representative why they continued to leave phone messages and send us mailings regarding having the work done if the part was not available and they said it was a legal obligation. i am submitting this complaint because i believe the dealer or toyota is unable to remedy the defect within a reasonable time, especially when the safety recall notice states "until the remedy is performed, the front passenger seat should not be occupied." 8 months and counting with no estimate for when the part may be available is unacceptable.

I'm quite concerned over my wife and others are having to sit in the rear seat of my 2006 corolla for the next four to six or more months prior to the situation being remedied. even sitting in the rear seat could still result in injury due to flying debris, as well as being tightly quartered. i do not feel you are seriously remedying the airbag situation in a timely manner. my car has only 50,000 miles on it and should be able to provide safe service to my family.
