Takata recall - my family is military so our car is registered in our home of record but driven where we are stationed. my understanding, from various sources, is this problem can be exacerbated by climate (i.e. hot, humid areas) and a vehicles age. it just so happens my car is registered in the north where it is cooler but driven in the south where it is hot and humid. my car is also older. i have contacted toyota about this concern but been told they will not make repairs based on where the car is driven only where it is registered. this action plan completely neglects military personnel and their families putting them at an unnecessary risk because of logistics. i hope you will require manufacturers to revise their action plan to allow dealers to make repairs based on where cars are driven/insured (it would be easy enough to provide proof of insurance) and not where they are registered. additionally it should be noted that during my call to toyota i was told by a representative that if i was that concerned for my safety a rental could be arranged though a local toyota dealer but that dealer has yet to return my phone calls despite 4 attempts to reach them since november 6, 2015. a final call to the store manager on december 4, 2015 met with great resistance as i was told toyota could not make that kind of promise and that the rentals are solely for the dealerships use.

Takata recall. i have been contacting mac haik toyota (2112 gulf fwy s, houston) for 5 months trying to schedule the repairs as outlined by the airbag recall. the total 12 times that i have called, the dealership has informed me they are out of the parts necessary for the repairs. it is my belief that this dealership has no intention of complying with the recall in any sort of timely fashion, if at all.

Takata recall what is toyota waiting for to get these airbags replaced? lives will be lost if any of these airbags explode in an accident. i am worried that my air bag might be a bad one. how can i get toyota to replace it before it's too late? toyota dealer will not help and says the repair is not ready? this is a 2006 model and last time i checked it is almost the year 2016. recall fix not ready???

Quite some time ago, i received a letter stating that toyota would take care of this problem, since it was serious. i have not been contacted since for an update or have i been given a date to correct the problem.

Takata recall i received a recall notice from toyota in june 2015, letting me know about the problem with the passenger side airbag. in the notice, they said "until the remedy becomes available in your location, we recommend that you do not operate the vehicle with an occupant in the front passenger seat." since then i've contacted toyota several times to try to find out when the replacement airbag would be available, but they are unable to give me any time frame whatsoever. also, their representative who answered the phone at the toll-free number toyota provided told me that if we don't feel safe in the vehicle, we could go to a toyota dealer and request a replacement vehicle until toyota is able to remedy our vehicle. when i went to the toyota dealer with that information, they told me it wasn't true, and that they could not provide another vehicle. my concern is that toyota is unable or unwilling to give me any kind of a time frame of when the replacement airbag will be available in our part of the country. meanwhile, have decided to not use the front passenger seat, based on toyota's recommendation, and that doesn't work for us. in addition, the resale value of the vehicle has decreased substantially because of the airbag problem. i feel that toyota should do a better job of letting us know an approximate date for the replacement part, or they should provide us with a temporary replacement vehicle, as their own employee suggested from a phone number toyota asked us to call.

I received an airbag recall in june of this year with directions to limit seating in the car until the parts are available. i called toyota regarding status today (november 16) and was told there was no solution to the lack of replacement parts (airbag) . i was given a case number by toyota: 1511160385. this is absurd for a safety related problem to go on for six months.

I received a safety recall (interim notice) from toyota in august 2015 and have not had the front passenger airbag inflator recall replaced yet. this is not a timely manner where i should not have a passenger in the passenger seat for safety reasons and it is taking a long time for this to be replaced. i would like to have an adult passenger sit in the front instead of in the back with two car seats. i made a call to toyota on october 19, 2015 to see when this issue will be resolved and the person on the phone said they are still looking into it and do not have a time frame. i would like to know if there is something i can do so that i may take another passenger comfortably in my vehicle as soon as possible.

I have been notified that my 2006 toyota corolla has a safety recall notice stating that the passenger side airbag could potentially deploy causing metal fragments to pass through the cushion of the airbag which could cause serious injury and/or death to the vehicle occupants. i have called toyota motor sales in torrance, california and have been told that there is no timeline of when the airbag will be replaced. i strongly believe that is totally unreasonable not to have a tentative date of replacement and not offer stipends for rental vehicles or even a free inspection of the airbag in question. toyota currently and has been putting my life in danger as well the occupants of my vehicle on a daily basis.

Takata recall for toyota air bag inflators from june 2015 for a toyota corolla 2006. i have now waited 6 months for this recall part: calling toyota one time and checking online 2- 3 times over the last 6 months for recall information. i still have no information on the status of the part or the repair, and i have to have any passenger ride in the back seat per toyota's safety recall notice. my air bag passenger light has no status whether on or off when the vehicle is on, stationary or in motion, and "airbag" is just lit up. the air bag light use to say "airbag on" when a passenger or a heavy object was in the passenger seat and "airbag off" when there was no passenger or heavy object. the light on now just says "airbag" for about the last four months, as of september. i believe temperature changes and humidity in the car has caused this issue first, in either the car's electrical system and / or fuse area that controls the entire airbag. then a malfunction of the air bag notification lights may happen, in addition to the air bag inflators not working properly. this may happen with the notification lights etc since the whole airbag part is not waterproof or an additional part was not waterproofed during manufacturing. other than that- unknown.

I received the recall notice regarding the front passenger air bag and the recommendation that i not have a passenger in the front seat. i have been told toyota does not have a remedy at this time, which i feel is unreasonable. i am disabled and have an anxiety disorder. this situation is making my condition worse and i feel that toyota just doesn't care! how awful to send a notice to customers stating that the airbag is defective but there is no fix right now. i will never purchase another toyota!

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 toyota corolla. while driving 25 mph, the contact rear ended the preceding vehicle. the air bags failed to deploy. there were no injuries and a police report was not filed. there were no warning indicators illuminated during or after the failure. the vehicle had to be towed to an auto body shop. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 15v285000 (air bags) after the failure occurred. the manufacturer was not notified. a police report was filed. the failure mileage was approximately 200,000.
