On sept 1, 2010, my daughter was driving a 2004 toyota corolla north in the left lane(two lanes north, two lanes going south) on a state road going approx. 35mph. she was behind a 2009 nissan altima. suddenly from a county road a 1995 lincoln mark 8 pulled out on the right to cross the state road turning left or south. the nissan swerved into the right lane going n. and clipped the mark 8 while my daughter slammed on her breaks. the car locked up, leaving skid marks and she t-boned the mark 8. her car was totaled. the air bags did not deploy. her front end was pushed toward the cabin and would not turn off or move. resulting in shoulder, neck, chest, breast, and back injuries with a swollen tongue from biting the sides. these injuries are all soft tissue injuries which will take some time to heal. she had a passenger. his injuries were a right swollen leg and back injuries. Date 10/20/2007 this saturday morning at 9:05 am, after mass at the miami archdioceses, i had a most unpleasant experience with my 2004 toyota corolla. when i moved to reverse my car from my parking place, i experienced a sudden dramatic increase from the car's idle and a release of the acceleration, causing the vehicle to move backward very fast. i immediately put the car in neutral, but did not stop and then, in a few seconds to forward to avoid hitting any persons or vehicles in my back in the church parking lot. in total about 45 feet backward and forward, perhaps 30 seconds plus in total . i then crashed on the wall of st. martha rectory. the car was uncontrollable and the front of my car's hood, front doors were badly damaged, (especially the right side, where my sick wife sat ) damages with a preliminary estimate of $ 5864. i have two concerns: a) sudden acceleration when car is started and inability to stop it . b) no air bag system deployment in spite of the strength of the impact and having the entire front bumper of the car destroyed. 2) i have lost my trust in my present toyota corolla car (i have had one before and a camry, and their performance was satisfactory). i would like to have a very careful inspection of our vehicle, its capacity for sudden uncontrollable acceleration, lack of air bag protection, and the like. *tr

Dt*: the contact stated while driving 45 mph toward an intersection, the contact felt lightheaded, and collided with an immobile vehicle at the stop sign. the contact depressed the brakes, prior to the collision, but was unable to avoid the accident. the air bags did not deploy, however the seat belt restrained the contact. there were no warning lights illuminated prior to the accident. the contact suffered a strained neck. the police and fire department were present but the contact refused to be taken to a hospital. a police report was taken. the owner's manual stated the air bags should deploy at a minimum of 25 mph. the police officer ordered the vehicle not to be driven because the air bags could suddenly deploy. the vehicle was towed to a body shop to be later be inspected by the insurance company. the dealership and the manufacturer would be contacted.

I was driving my 2004 corolla through an intersection, when another vehicle turned in front of me. we collided. i was traveling approximately 40 mph before i started braking a couple moments before impact, so i imagine i was going at least 30-35 at the time of impact. severe damage to the front left corner of my vehicle; it was undriveable after. complaint: no airbags deployed in my corolla! the other car was going less than 10 mph when our cars collided, but her airbags deployed. the toyota website says that airbags won't deploy unless it is a "severe frontal collision". what qualifies as "severe"? no response yet from toyota dealer.
