We have classified the 210 complaints from 2004 Toyota Corolla about AIR BAGS into the following categories.
Takata recall this complaint is not about the airbag itself. it hasn't been deployed. this is about lustine toyota dealer in woodbridge, va. i made an appointment for the airbag recall. should have taken one hour. after two hours of waiting and people working there trying to sell me another car, they said they had no parts to fix it and told me to come back at another time. a few weeks later i made an appointment and went in again and waited two hours and the same thing happened again. i got a card from the man there who was working with me and it says he's a salesman not a mechanic. i noticed this after i completed the second appointment. before the appointments i told the person the reason i was coming in. i will try another dealer after i finish filing this complaint.
I have not yet had an incident. based on toyota recommendation, i do not allow anyone (including dogs, or heavy objects) to ride in the passenger front seat (or the back seat). my vehicle is still potentially dangerous for me, the driver. i would apply for an on/off switch for the airbags, but, it is not available for my car. i want that airbag de-activated. i need to get to work, and, i can not afford to replace this unsafe vehicle. i have already been waiting almost 1 year for a fix to the exploding airbag. i am also waiting for the fix to the bad electronic unit that could fire the airbag. how do i get your permission to make my car safe for me to drive by de-activating the passenger side airbag? i am already considering removing the passenger front seat, mounting it on the roof, and parking it in front of the local dealership with deathtrap painted all over it.
My vehicle has been recalled due to the passenger front air bag since june 10, 2014, and a remedy is still not available. i have spoken with toyota twice over the past 3 weeks and they are unable to give me any timeline on when a remedy may be available. this is unacceptable to leave a customer without a safety remedy for nearly one year. it is even more egregious that they are unable to provide a timeline of any sort on when a remedy will be available.

2004 toyota corolla. consumer writes in regards to passenger side airbag recall. *smd the consumer was informed the parts were not available. the consumer received the interim notice on april 4, 2015. *jb
Just over a week ago i received a letter from toyota about a front passenger airbag safety recall (remedy notice). i promptly called the closest dealership (with whom i have had dealings twice in the past) to set up an appointment for the service. after a lengthy conversation i was told that a special department there would have to call me back to set up a time for the repair. i expected i would hear from someone that day . . . or the next . . . but nothing has happened. i have taken my car in for recall work before at this dealership and been displeased both times with their work. clearly, i am not reporting an accident (yet), but i am concerned that this dealership couldn't care less about this repair; i'm sure they do not make money from carrying out this service. can you pass this complaint on to toyota motor sales, u.s.a., inc. or let me know how to contact them. because this reflects on their company. *tr
