Passenger airbag light indicator & passenger airbag on/off indicator remains on even when a passenger is seated in the front seat. i think this is a safety issue because the airbag will not deploy from an impact as needed. request any assistance with this related safety issue. thank you

Cvt transmission shutters, slips and shuts down the engine when stopping. diagnostic was performed at dealership and resulted in bad transmission. also passenger airbag deactivates intermittently even while someone is sitting

My air bag light stays on in my dash. went to my local dealer to find out an old code b0020-13 was detected. they found everything to be fine, so they reset the code. the air bag light came back on two days later, and the same code came on again. they recommended a replacement of the side air bag module under the driver seat to repair the concern. they want to charge me $1600 for parts and labor, and what's worse, the sop part is on back order with no eta. so i asked the dealer what i am supposed to do, and if the car is safe to drive? he suggested that i shouldn't drive the car, but the part is not readily available any where in the united states? what kind of garbage is that? they offered me no solution to my problem, and i don't have another car to drive, and they can't even tell me when the part will become available???? does this mean that this problem is a problem all across the country, because why don't they have the part available? this is ...
We have not had any accident and the air bag lights came on. the vehicle was not moving. we turned it on in the morning and it came up. we did not know what it was at first until my husband friend informed it that it was the air bag about 2 days later when he sent him a picture.
