Tl* the contact owns a 2006 jeep commander. while driving at approximately 50 mph, all of the interior and exterior lights, including the control panel, began blinking rapidly before completely failing. the radio and air conditioner also failed. the vehicle was pulled over and upon restarting, resumed normal operation. the vehicle was not taken to the dealer and the failure recurred twice. the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure and did not service the vehicle. the failure persisted intermittently and would occur while driving and parked. the failure mileage was 61,000 and the current mileage was 66,000.
This recall has been since 2014. i am a little afraid to drive this jeep for fear it will quit while driving. other people have already had an accident so how long do we have to wait for a fix. it can also cause the airbags to deploy so that's a real problem. either fix what u have instead of making more vehicle or buy them back
I filed a complaint about 2 weeks ago about an ongoing problem that i've been having with my 2006 jeep commander since january 2009. i am going to be killed in this vehicle which seems to have an electrical problem. the headlights flash on and off which in an age of road rage could get me killed if someone thinks i'm willfully flashing them. all the instrument panel gauges go on and off, the radio and climate control system go on and off; did i forget to say randomly. this is a dangerous situation that chrysler needs to take care of. i've taken it to the dealer but they tell me there's nothing wrong with it. in the past they charged me for the evaluation, now i refuse to keep paying them and have them say "sorry can't find anything on the computer." someone will be liable for the people who will be killed or seriously injured by this defected vehicle. on 12/24/09 on my way home from work it flashed the people before me, i got concerned and switched lanes on the highway; every time i switched lanes they switched before me. i believe they thought i was purposefully flashing them. this is very frustrating. something needs to be done immediately before people are hurt. *tr
My 2006 jeep commander seems to have electrical or computer problems, i'm not certain which. since january 2009 i've had several instances when all the instrument panel lights, the heat, and radio flash on and off while i am driving and all the gauges fluctuate; during this time there is also a clicking sound. i've taken it back to the dealer several times and paid $100 to have their computer evaluate the problem but they found no problems. recently, on 12/11/09 when the flashing was constant for over 5 miles of driving, i brought it straight to the dealer for an immediate evaluation. i asked if others reported similar problems i was told "no", so i was very surprised to see the number of individuals in your database with similar problems over the past 2 years. the service managers always want me to pay for additional evaluations but i believe this is a defect that needs to be addressed by the manufacturers. when the problem began i only had 55,250 miles on the truck. currently the problem has gotten worst because it is more frequent and last longer. the dealer has a huge turnover of service managers and mechanics so each time i have to explain in detail what the problem is because the service managers pretend i'm the only one who ever complained about such a problem. i fear that the truck will stall in traffic and kill me or an innocent driver. the problem is i have no other means of transportation and i'm still paying for this truck. what can i do about this problem without resorting to discontinue paying for the defected vehicle? the dealer/service managers report no problems including battery, alternator, and computer working properly so currently i feel stuck and afraid of the ramifications of this defected vehicle. *tr
Headlights and interior lights shut off while driving at night at highway speed, but the radio remained on and the engine was also working. all the lights on the instrument panel flipped on and then off with the exception of the base esp and the traction control lights, they stayed on. power steering and power brakes were working and if it had not been dark out, could have drove home. the vehicle did come back to normal working order within a few seconds. this record of events happened 3 times within a few minutes at 10 pm and was very scary. i brought the vehicle to the jeep dealership and they replaced the power junction block. they said there were multiple codes they found in the system but the fault that leaped out to them was u0200. *tr
My car has had serious issues since buying it. now i have a serious electrical problem that the dealer can not diagnose. that has been the case from day one of buying the car. i am fearing a electrical fire and the dealer has thrown up their hands and don't know what is causing the issue. chrysler has never helped me with this auto but was going to declare it at one point a lemon but wanted to charge me a out rageous usage fee right after purchasing the car. i have a file at the jeep dealer larger then any file ever on a car there. my jeep always have has problems has had serious problems from day one and they can never figure out why. it use to stall when driving and any speed. i would lose all power and it was a serious problem. my family and i could have been killed in the car. it took them a year and half to find and fix that problem. now they can find this problem and we fear a serious fire in the car. please help us. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 jeep commander. the contact stated that the vehicle was experiencing numerous electrical failures. the lights on the instrument panel and the dome light would stop illuminating intermittently, and the vehicle would stall while driving at various speeds. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where they were unable to duplicate the failure. the contact was also informed that a previous owner replaced the wiring harness, but the failures continued. in addition to the electrical failures, the contact also stated that a grinding noise could be heard coming from the brakes whenever they were applied. the failure mileage was 32,000 and the current mileage was 68,000.
Driving my 2006 jeep commander on 635e in dallas, tx, the car just died going 70 mph with 6 lanes of traffic, and i was in the lane next to the hov lane and it had not shoulder, just a concrete wall. rather that cross 4 lanes of heavy fast traffic with no acceleration in the car, i went into the hov lane which had less traffic and got rear ended but was not a serious wreck as it well could have been. i put my car in park and started it and took the next exit and reported the accident to the police. when i got home i looked up recalls for my jeep and found the v8 engine had a recall on the front control module since the car would stall on the highway. my car is a v6. i took it to the dealership and they could not find anything wrong. i called jeep and they said i should take it to another dealership 50 miles away to "see another doctor to find the problem" in the meantime i have to fix the damage from the rear end collision and thank my luck stars i am still alive to fix it. your campaign number for the recall i referred to is: 08v059000. *tr
I filed a previous complaint regarding my 2006 jeep commander 5.7 l hemi regarding the engine light coming on and the hesitation you get when you are driving. i was told that the pcm sensor needed replaced and it has been but the problem is still there. we have had the o2 sensor replaced twice, the gas filter replaced, transmission fluid and filter changed, my jeep has been in the shop many times for this same problem and they cannot duplicate the problem on some visits. this is a huge safety concern if my jeep were to stall from hesitation this could cause a deadly accident. i have no idea where to go from here but i will keep on going until i get someone to listen and correct this problem or take these vehicles off the road. *kb
I was driving on the freeway about to go over a bridge when the dashboard light starting blinking on and off. the car then stalled and i lost all functions of the vehicle, i was lucky enough to pull over with out incident. the car then did start right back up. i have had this problem with the dashboard lights and components to blink 2 other times since (taking my kids to school this morning is the most recent time). luckily the car did not stall these other times. however, when it begins to happen i cannot start freaking out that my car is going to all of a sudden shut down. *tr
Hi my jeep commander has been in garage most of the time one day it stayed out in the rain and all the water got in the driver side and the electrical system failed radio shut off and on same with the dashboard lights, headlights and interior lights the it would stay on dash service suspension system check gauges the check engine would com on the battery and the oil and the tire pressure and sometimes it wont start the other day it shut off while driving i have 4 kids and im afraid it could happen when they re with me and they could get hurt i called chrysler and they take no responsibility for this problem i'm reporting this to the bbb and to the consumers affairs hopefully someone will help. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 jeep commander. the contact stated that the vehicle failed to start once the key was placed into the ignition. after several attempts, the vehicle was able to start. the failure recurred multiple times. the vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing. the ignition was replaced, but the failure recurred. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 14v438000 (electrical system); however, the part was unavailable to perform the repairs. the contact also received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 13v175000 (electrical system, power train); however, the part was unavailable to repair the vehicle. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall remedy. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 50,000.
Problems began 1 day after commander went in to dealer for the regular 3,000mile oil change, that car was returned to me after that oil change, as 'good to go'; w/in 24 hours of that oil change, the commander would not start and required a new starter (30k miles). after the starter was replaced, the commander was stalling if - in the middle of a slight incline it had to brake and then resume - at the resume it would stall. also, after starter replaced dashboard lights blinking; transmission cooler lines leaking, power steering line from pump to cooler leaking, and front and back brake rotors had to be replaced (42k miles) 60k miles, the cruise control turns on by itself and the rear park assist turns off by itself; the water leak into front passenger well. speaking with custom relations at chrysler corporate regarding cruise control, rear assist and water leak problems they told me that they were not aware of these being a problem for most commander customers; however, chrysler jeep is aware of these problems as evidenced by the technical service bulletins published on them yet chrysler jeep does not issue a recall/take fiscal responsibility for their manufacturer defects. more: chrysler jeep expects me to pay them to diagnose the problems so that then so long as i have paid a dealer to repair them they will consider (not necessarily approve; in the past they have in fact denied me reimbusement to fix these problems for which they have technical service bulletins on) refunding me total or partial cost of repairs. more: i was only informed of a safety recall regarding ebc module (brake) when i called in last week (12/2011) regarding the water leak & cruise control problem. making this more poignant, the reason for this recall - that i was not notified about when it was first issued- is a brake issue that i had detailed to chrysler jeep in 2009! *tr
Have a 2006 jeep commander. lights have been flickering and car has not wanted to start. found that battery was not holding charge and replaced. now we drive at speed and the engine begins to race while not increasing speed. have taken to dealer in cincinnati, northgate and they reset computer but before we could leave the bay area it started making a grinding noise and the check engine light is back on. they say the are going to have the transmission guy look at it and get back to us. i read hundreds of complaints on your site and the majority of them are describing problems that are very similar over the last 3 years. don't you have enough complaints on this that chrysler should be doing a recall? after all the government is now deeply invested in chrysler. *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2006 jeep commander. she stated that while driving between 60 and 75 mph the vehicle stalled and the check engine light illuminated intermittently. she was able to shut the engine off, restart it, and continue driving normally. the dealer stated that they were not familiar with this type of failure and that there were no existing recalls. they also advised her to have the vehicle inspected; however, she chose not to since there was a fee. the computer indicated that the control module caused the failure to occur. nhtsa campaign 08v059000, electrical system is also related to the failure. the failure mileage was 80000 and current mileage was 82000.
Tl*the contact owns a 2006 jeep commander. the headlights began flashing on and off intermittently. the lights within the instrument control panel are not illuminated. the dealer was not notified. there are no recalls or warranties related to the failure. the failure mileage was 105,000.
During regular drive of the car, i experienced major electrical shut down. it does not happen very often. i noticed that is happening in summer time more often than in winter time. i noticed it for a first time 2 years ago and reported to local service dealer. they told me to keep an eye on it and to tell them if i notice any trend. except for summer/winter, i couldn't notice any other trend. last summer it was happening quite often and after bringing it to the service, they couldn't find cause of the problem. i think they performed some recall firmware update (08v-203 i think) but i still have same electrical problem. i don't have engine stall however. last night (july 3rd 2009) it happen to me for the first time during night and i just realized how serious safety issue it actually is. while driving home with my family, everything in the car (headlights, ac , stereo (except lcd display) all lights on the dashboard (except p r n d gear indication)) went off for a few seconds and came back on. it happened 15-20 times in 30 minutes time frame. at one point after ~10th interruption, check engine light came on (error code u1411). so, all lights disappeared while driving at night putting me and my family at risk of an serious accident. i don't have confidence in this car any more unless there is a permanent fix for this problem. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 jeep commander. the contact stated that the warning lamps on the instrument panel would flicker on and off sporadically. the contact also mentioned that the vehicle stalled several times immediately after the failure. the vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to diagnose the problem. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 70,000 and the current mileage was 104,000.
I currently own a 2006 commander. i have been having problems with dash light shutoffs since 2009, just recently the vehicle has started to do exactly what the recall has stated that it will do. the dash components will go from on to off and then back on. the warning lights will all come on and then off again without warning. the fan motor for the heater is now starting to cut in and out in unison with all the indicator lights. right now it is only the lights but at some time the ignition is going to shut off leaving myself in a situation that i cannot control with no steering or brakes to safely get to the side of the road. at this point i can hit the dash to the right of the steering wheel and it comes back on but how long can i do this. this vehicle is definitely a lemon. sept 20, 2015
While driving the dash lights went out and headlights started flashing on and off. took it to dealer and they found no trouble. the vehicle keeps blowing rear tail light bulbs, and blower motor at times does not work on certain speeds. cigarette lighter/power outlets stopped working even though fuse is good. power windows intermittently stop working. the transmission went out around 62,000 miles. had dealer replace transmission and now at 102,000 miles the transmission will loose drive when shifting into 3rd under moderate acceleration. you then have to pull off the road and put the car in park, then back in drive to regain drive. transmission also "surges" under light throttle conditions at low speeds(10-20mph). i have contacted jeep and their response was that because of the mileage on the vehicle they could do nothing. i feel that the flashing lights and the loss of drive while in traffic are major safety issues. i have been researching this vehicle and found may other owners with the exact same problems. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 jeep commander. while driving 70 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. the contact was able to restart the vehicle. the vehicle was taken to a dealer, but was not repaired. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 14v438000 (electrical system); however, the failure recurred. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 40,000.
Jeep commander was turning into parking lot and had a slow speed stall. vehicle started again with no problems. vehicle has the 4.7l v8. vehicle is now at dealers car care center for evaluation. vehicle was repaired for same problem back in jan of 2008. pcm (power control module) was reprogrammed at that time. *tr
A/c blower only works on high, not any other setting. i've replaced the blower motor resistor on average of 3x per year (@ $32 from dealer). this is what i've been told by auto mechanics and the chrysler dealer service dept. is wrong with the a/c system....and that "it's a common problem." when the resistor is replaced, the a/c will work properly for a short period of time and then repeat the problem. obviously, there is something causing this part to short/malfunction. after researching this topic (online/internet), i've found many jeep owners have encountered the exact same problem. the problem is not the blower motor resistor, it is the guage of wiring chrysler has used to install the system. the wiring can not handle the amps running through it, and the connection/wiring actually melts. this is the case with my vehicle, the connection at the blower resistor is melted. the system has a 40amp fuse, which does not blow before the wiring melts???.....this is a fire hazard. chrysler should have done a recall on this. i've opened a case with chrysler, and so far have gotten nowhere with them.....they just want me to take vehicle into dealer so they can charge me there outrageous rates for looking at the problem, then (according to the discussion threads online) they'll suggest i replace the whole blower unit/system for about $800. the only problem is the guage of the wiring is to small for the amps running the system, and the wiring needs to be replaced. i've heard there is a replacement wiring harness available, but when i asked chrysler about this part they claimed to know nothing about it.
Tl*the contact owns a 2006 jeep commander. the contact experienced a no start condition when attempting to start the vehicle. in addition, the vehicle stalls without warning. she is in the process of having the vehicle inspected to determine the cause of the failures. the failure and current mileages were 44,000. updated 7/23/09 *cn the consumer stated on several occasions when she applied the brake, the vehicle acted as though it didn't want to stop. also there were times when the engine would not start and the lights would flicker on and off and all of the gauges would act erratic. the sunroof drain tube was blocked, which was causing water to enter the vehicle. updated 07/30/09.*jb
My 2006 jeep commander has electrical problems. my lights, interior and exterior flash, flicker and turn on and off randomly. *tr
I have a 2006 jeep commander. i purchased the vehicle new in january 2006. when i drive then engine will stall - usually when making a sharp right turn. also, all of the lights will go off and then come back on in the area where the speedometer is. being as this is electrical fault, i am afraid my car will catch on fire. *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2006 jeep commander. while driving approximately 45 mph, the contact heard a loud noise when the brake pedal was depressed, followed by no response. the contact made several attempts before the vehicle came to a complete stop. immediately, the warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. the speedometer and numerous instrument panel gauges stopped working. the vehicle stalled unexpectedly and the warning indicators remained illuminated until the engine was turned off. the vehicle restarted and was able to resume normal operation. the contact took the vehicle to an authorized dealer for diagnostic testing, but they could not duplicate the failures. they suggested that the ignition could be the cause of the failures. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and an independent mechanic for identical failures, but there were no resolutions. the failure mileage was 30,010 and current mileage was 92,000.
Tl*the contact owns a 2006 jeep commander. in may of 2006, the contact began experiencing issues with the transmission and electrical system in his vehicle. the vehicle would not change gears and the instrument panel lights were constantly illuminated. he took the vehicle to the dealer three times and they reprogrammed the computer, which allowed the vehicle to perform normally for a while. on april 25, 2008, the vehicle shut off and remained locked in third gear while driving 10 mph. the contact was able to drive the vehicle to his residence. the dealer stated that there was no recall. previously, the contact took the vehicle to a repair shop to be diagnosed and was informed that the control module failed; however, the dealer continues to state that there is no failure. the failure mileage was 18,166 and current mileage was 85,000.
Bought vehicle 3/31/06 new now has 60,000 miles. the vehicle has had numerous instances with stalling while driving. all the instrument panel lights will light up and headlights will switch on/off to high beams on their own. will lose powersteering and there seems to be a change in acceleration. on march 20th i was traveling at approx 30 miles per hour and lost power but the instrument panel lights did not go off as usual. i pulled off the road and parked vehicle. had my step-father come to assist and he stated there car didn't seem to want to go gear properly, assumed this was due to the prior "electrical" problems and drove commander to dealership approx. 1 mile away. was told there was a plug in the transmission leaking where the electrical wires enter, cost to repair $430. after completing those repairs was told the transmission is destroyed and needs replaced at $3500. chrysler is not offering any assistance to an obvious manufacturer issue. stated i knowingly drove a vehicle with low transmission fluid and am negligent. *tr
The problem started today out of the blue on a cold wet day. i drove home from work at 7am in the rain and parked. at 2pm i tried to start the vehicle and it wouldn't start. it would just stall. after several attempts at starting it, it would just stall. then it wouldn't start at all so i let it sit for a while. when i went to start it again, it would start but all the lights were flashing, the radio was going on and off, the windshield wipers would go and stop. i rented a code reader that read u1411, no connection to the problem so i cleared the code and it fixed the problem for about an hour. now it doesn't fix it. jeep says they don't know unless i take it in for a diagnostic. but i looked online and found lots and lots of jeep owners having the exact same complaint. all of their complaints started the same way, in the rain and without warning and they were all fixed the same way, replacing the ignition switch. it appears to me that there is a problem but jeep isn't addressing the problem. i don't think i should have to go pay them to diagnose and fix a problem that they already know about, but won't admit! *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2006 jeep commander. she stated that intermittently while driving the head lamps and lights on the instrument control panel failed. the impairment of visibility while driving increased the risk of a vehicle crash. the vehicle was taken to a local repair facility and a mechanic replaced the battery. the failure resurfaced after the vehicle was repaired. she is in the process of having the vehicle inspected and repaired by the dealer. the failure mileage was 55000. the current mileage was 63000.
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 jeep commander. the contact stated while driving at speeds of 60 mph, her knee touched against the key in the ignition and the vehicle stalled. she attempted to contact the dealer but to no avail. the contact stated the failure occurred an additional five times. the vehicle has not yet received diagnostic testing or been repaired. the failure mileage was 19,000 and the current mileage was 35,353.
I wrote about this problem several times and realize others also have similar problems. when will chrysler be forced to recall and fix the problem. does someone have to die first for this to be considered serious? there is a serious electrical problem with the suv which started within 3 yrs of having the truck. the dealers looked at it, i paid for computer diagnostics and still nothing. besides all the lights flashing on and off, the speedometer fluctuating, actually all the instruments going on and off while i am driving; also, the temperature control panel does not light up when the headlights are on. i have never had an automobile with all these electrical problems that no one can fix. please recall this vehicle before someone dies. i try not to drive long distances alone because of this problem. *tr
2006 jeep commander with 5.7l hemi stalls while driving at all levels of speed without warning. all power is lost, and i had two instances of this occur within one week while making a left turn. three visits to the dealer via tow truck in two weeks and after i was told it was done yesterday, six miles into my ride home, it happened again. this is a life threatening situation. build date is 5/06. all tsbs have been applied to no avail. need help!! *tr
Reference complaints 10244597, 10247128. today, driving in the rain, lights dimmed and car hesitated, eventually stalling while in motion. while we were at a stop, the car again stalled and took several tries to restart. i no longer drive with the children in the car, and have not since the previous incident at 61k. i have tried contacting jeep through my dealer, with no response. today i sent an email via their website, however, i am not hopeful of any response. this will be the final time i will file a complaint, as i have called the bank and told them to come and get the car. i can only hope that the person who considers purchasing my car, as i am sure another unscrupulous salesman will put the car up for sale, does his or her research and finds the complaints i have filed here and with the pa attorney general's office. *tr
Had cruise control set to 65 mph on the freeway. out of nowhere the car began accelerating on its own to reaching speeds of 85 mph. if cruise control is turned on now it accelerates on its own and i ma not able to control the speed at all. have taken car to dealership but they say nothing is wrong. front windshield leaks and lets in too much air. i should not have to pay for repairs since it is a defect. driver side window does not go down. now rear passenger side window is starting to get stuck. have replaced driver side switch and the problem still exists. front passenger window goes down but the driver side which has controls to all the windows does not work for any of the windows. my car accelerates on its own on a daily basis. it can go from 35 mph to uncontrollable speeds. taken to dealership several times but they never find the problems. dealership cant even figure out what is wrong with the electrical windows. *tr
Additional problems reference odi complaint #10244597. received car back from dealership ran fine for two weeks. the car is now stalling on the highway at 40 mph near our home. thank god i was able to get the car to the side of the road. then the park assist service light came on and went off again. i got the car home. my husband took it out. the transmission was slipping and not shifting into higher gear. today taking the kids to the bus it stalled again. when i was able to restart, i put my foot on the gas and the car hesitate, almost causing an accident. i have pretty much decided on voluntary repossession, as my kids are worth more than the deficient balance. *tr
Electrical-- started about 1 year ago with clock light dimming then flash back to normal . now, loss of dash and headlights -flickers on and off several times, then will sometimes go out completely. *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2006 jeep commander. while driving 30 mph, the instrument panel warning indicators suddenly began flashing and then completely dimmed. afterwards, the engine completely shut off as well. the weather conditions were not a factor. the contact stated that the vehicle restarted immediately. the engine light illuminated but then shut off once he arrived at the dealer. the dealer could not find any failures. the vin was unknown. the failure mileage was 18,000.
A/c blower motor and resistor keeps failing. original failure on 9/4/2008, replaced blower motor and resistor, mileage 57771. failure # 2, 5/18/2009, same failure, blower motor replaced, mileage 64773. failure # 3, 6/1/2012, mileage 115274, blower motor and resistor replaced, also paid for "new baffle screen" per jeep, a design flaw and debris coming in and getting lodged in ac motor fan blades, would correct problem from happening again. i paid for 1/2 of the parts as i was out of warranty, but was given a "goodwill repair" credit on labor from dealer and $100 refund from cd for parts on this repair, mileage 115274. failure # 4, 11/19/2012, same failure, blower motor, except this time, blower motor smoked, electrical burn and smoke inside vehicle, i had to evacuate my vehicle on side of freeway, mind you i am disabled with service dog. dealer covered repair with their own parts and repair warranty. failure # 5, 4/30/2013, mileage 131318,.....current status, waiting repair....because it is failing intermittently, only low air setting, and not others, lithia dealer requesting i wait until complete failure, which i find unsafe. i have called jeep and told them that if this happens again, i will file a lawsuit, this is a "unsafe" problem for it's consumers. it has yet to completely fail, but previous problems tell me it's only a matter of time. *tr
My 2006 jeep commander 5.7l sometimes loses all the displays in the front panel dash board. everything goes out. my a/c will not turn on. no radio, etc. this happens intermittently, like something is loose. it has never happened at night yet, so i am not sure if i also lose my headlights, but anything on the dashboard is off, no gas gauge, no speedometer, no temp gauge, etc. it has happened 5 times already. is there a recall to 2006 jeep commanders that address this problem? *tr
Our 06 jeep commander has been a nightmare since the day we purchased it used with 14k miles on it in 3/07. we continue to have problems with the dash lights coming on, stalling just today 7/22- the lights lit up and the air conditioner quit working!!! no fan no blower... nothing. it has been brought in for the recall for this but it keeps happening. oh and did i mention that autopark jeep in cary, nc sold me a lemon/buyback.... they gave me the carfax report after 30 visits to the service dept.... fool me once, fool me twice... i am hoping that jeep will buy it back again for this complete lemon!! i know have 37k on it and the service dept was talking that they did not know if jeep would cover the work.... they can keep it.. *tr

This is an update of my previous post. my 2006 3.7 liter commander 4x4 has been at the dealer since monday the 7th. when i took it in it had been stalling now and then, the engine light was on and the display "service park assist" had came on the day before i took it in. on the way to the dealer, it shut down no breaks, steering, nothing. the dealer tested it and said it gave them a code u1400 which was the tcm module. they replaced it and told me to come and get it on june 9th. i picked it up and on the way home, going up a slight incline about a block fro the dealer, it shut down again, and started rolling backward down the hill, and all i could do was pull the emergency break and pray that it still worked, it did. after three tries, i got it started and took it back to the dealer, who put a computer on it as soon as i got there, they told me i would have to get a ride home, and the next day called and said it needed ecm module, they also told me that they contacted chrysler and they had a 1000 piece backlog on them. i asked them what i should do for transport, and they told me i should call chrysler because the car was unsafe to drive. they also told me that there had been a major recall on the 2006 4.7 liter commander for the same problem, but not the 3.7 models. the dealership has been great, but chrysler has been unreal to deal with, they simply do not care about the customer, and have been no help. i called the dealer today to let them know that chrysler told me the part would be ready for delivery on july 18th, but my guess is that if there's 1000 backordered, it will be some time before i will get mine. i guess we will see. *tr
I bought a jeep comander in may of 2008, two days later i had to have what was supposed to be a really great new car towed on a rollback to the dealer i had just gotten it from. im driving down the road and it starts making a terrible noise and then it will not turn and just dies in the middle of the road. right in the middle of an intersection with traffic coming at me. since then the same thing happened again as i was driving down the interstate with my children in the car and traffic all around.i drove it straight to the dealership, and also had them tell me it was the driver of the vehicle. i got a rental and they called the next day to say they could find anything wrong with the car. during the winter my car decided to get a mind of its own and when you would turn the heat on you had to have it on high or it wouldn't do anything, but if you drove around a curve to the right it would cut off, if you went around a curve to the left it would cut back on. a couple months later it was time to get brakes and have rotors turned. i also had the stereo worked on because i guess it took lessons from my heater, and would change stations or not turn at all .it still doesn't work right at this point i've kind of given up on it.but then the window s started not going up all the way theywould go halfway up then go back down in the door. i have just taken my car on friday to get new tires, monday for an alignment, where i was told they couldn't do one because my tierod had to much play in it and was a safety concern. my dealership no longer has their license so i had my car taken to the closest jeep place and my warranty couldn't be found and i basically stood on the street to wait for a ride as they closed for the night. but then when i got to talk to them again i needed new brakes and rotors all the way around at a grand total of 600.00 . *tr
