I have received 2 safety recalls r40/nhtsa 15v-461 s 27/ nhtsa 16v-240 i have taken the vehicle twice to the dealer for the bucking in the transmission. i attempted to bring in the vehicle early august appt. today is 7/25, i was told by the dealership there was time for an oil change, however i need to wait till 8/29 to address the recalls. the recalls sound urgent and i drive everyday. the dealership is making me wait over 1 month. please help dealer is hudson chrysler jeep dodge ram 625 route 440 jersey city, nj 07304 thank you *tr
Lights started flashing on dash including transmission needs service. then car just lost power while driving . very dangerous as i had to coast across 3 lanes of heavy traffic. luckily other drivers were paying attention and braked for me or it would have been a bad rear end collision. the car told me to restart it. that allowed me to drive it home with service transmission light on . made service appointment immediately. when i went to take it service a week later, the car had reset itself!!! dealership was able to recall the failure codes
Tl* the contact owns a 2014 jeep cherokee. while driving various speeds, the vehicle stalled and the transmission service warning indicator illuminated on the instrument panel. the contact stated that the instrument panel suggested restarting the vehicle. the vehicle was restarted and functioned normally. the vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 37,000. updated 09/27/16*lj *cn
My jeep has been in the shop twice in 2 weeks for transmission issues, hard shifts lunging, lost power ect...they retrained my transmission the first time & replaced the valve body the 2nd time. yet it is still not working right.
Since purchasing the car new, it sporadically hesitates when i step on the gas and sometimes it lurches forward. twice i have almost been broadsided when pulling out onto a highway or changing lanes. i am afraid to drive the car in traffic because it is unpredictable and i came very close to being hit with my grandson in the car last month. drivers think i deliberately slow down and they get angry with me. in my driveway, sometimes the engine just revs instead of moving the car like it is in neutral but i have it in drive. other times i try to slowly pull up behind a car at a stop sign and the car will lurch forward. it is like the car shifts itself into neutral and it doesn't matter if i am sitting still in the driveway or going 70 mph on the highway. i have seen the tachometer rev up when this occurs. i am going to be hit one of these days if something isn't done. i asked the dealer if other jeeps are doing it and he said, "yes", but didn't offer any solution. there have already been three recalls on this model and year for compromised uconnect computer system, windshield wiper shorting problem and lift gate, but they are not life threatening like the current problem. please help. this problem occurs at least once a month, but sometimes daily....no pattern or reason. it can be first thing in the morning when i pull out of the garage or on a long trip. usually it doesn't last long, but long enough to leave me in the middle of the road or lane change with oncoming traffic. i am 67 years old so this is not good for my heart either...it scares me to death. i don't want to drive it anymore, but i can't afford to get a new car and it's the only transportation i have. the odometer just turned over 21,000 miles.
Transmission shifting very rough.when it changes gears it jumps, lurches abruptly while driving
Tl* the contact owns a 2014 jeep cherokee. when the accelerator pedal was depressed, the vehicle hesitated. the vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the failure could not be replicated. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v529000 (power train); however, the parts to do the repair were unavailable. the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the manufacturer was not notified of the issue. the failure mileage was approximately 18,000. parts distribution disconnect. the vin was not provided.
Transmission electronically shifted from drive to manual, while in traffic, three times so far. service transmission, service emergency brake, traction control off, and mil illuminated(code p0887 stored). software updates preformed in july. transmission shifts erratically at low speeds since updates and problem back in october of 2016, with a rear end collision barely averted.
Was driving on highway, when the "service transmission" warning came on. car would not accelerate. was able to pull over. turned car off, sat for a few minutes, restarted car, "service transmission" light was off, but service engine light was on and remained on. was able to drive car. this happened several more times, i have taken it to the dealer. waiting to hear back what the problem is.
The car will randomly throw code and begin flashing transmission problems. it happened to me while driving on a city street in all 3 cases. luckily i was not yet on the highway. this seems to be related to the recall that has no solution. this is not acceptable. the car becomes undriveable while in motion. i commute 85 miles per day on a highway with a 15 mo old baby. this is not safe. there is no solution. i want a way out of the car before seeking litigation. this is the 3rd time this has happened in 6 weeks.
Tl* the contact owns a 2014 jeep cherokee. while driving and making right or left turns, the transmission made a knocking noise. the vehicle was taken to the dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v529000 (power train) and stated that the part needed for the repair was not available. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 17,110. parts distribution disconnect.
Tl* the contact owns a 2014 jeep cherokee. the contact received notification for nhtsa campaign number: 16v529000 (power train) and stated that the part needed was unavailable to perform the recall repair. the manufacturer was not notified of the issue. the contact had not experienced a failure. parts distribution disconnect.
Vehicle doesn't idle at stop signs or light, often the engine shuts down if brake is applied abruptly. when selecting drive from reverse the vehicle engine dies and same with turning left or right if your feet is not on the accelerator pedal. happens both on the highway or around local streets.
The transmission/gear box has been consistently terrible and has only worsened with time. i have had the vehicle for 2 years, and the transmission just bangs around. many times, i am on the gas and tap the breaks to re-accelerate to have the transmission spin, then engage and bang the car forward. i imagine the transmission has only a year or two left before it will need to be replaced.
I have a 2014 jeep cherokee. 3 recalls (shifting, wipers and lift gate) still waiting on the parts for the lift gate. massive shifting issues. low speeds transmission slams into the lower gear and hesitates to shift in a higher gear. sitting in a line the car will jump forward even with foot on the brake. driving approx. 60 mph on interstate rounded a curve, the transmission did a weird noise and the whole car shifted to the right, the car slammed into the lower gear, almost loosing control. if you do not come to a full stop before trying to accelerate, there is a 2 to 5 second hesitation before it will downshift and go forward. i have almost gotten into several accidents because of this. driving down a street at approx. 25 miles per hour the car accelerated then downshifted almost immediately causing a whip lash effect. i have had it looked at the dealer every time i have taken for a oil change and they say jeep knows it a problem but don't know how to fix it. they do updates on the system but nothing has helped. this last time made it worse. how long does jeep have to "know" a problem exists before they fix it or buy them back? does someone have to die? it has been very close several times. there have been so many incidences its hard to pick just one. this has been a constant problem since the first "update" about 6 months after i bought the vehicle. i have a special needs child, i don't have the money to try to trade this car off as upside down as i am...i need some help.
While driving on the highway at 65 to 70 mph, my car would go in to safe mode the massage said. "service transmission" "service park brake" the engine light and traction lights came on to. i had to coast over to the brake down lane. i would turn the car off wait for 2to 3 min's then restart the car. all massages cleared but the check engine light stayed on. the next day the engine light cleared i took it to the dealer. he said, no lights no codes no problem. this continued to happen about 10 times over 5 months. every time the car went in for a recall i would tell them. the same answer, no lights no codes no problem. finale i had a problem with electrical. after 3 days they found a pinched wire in the main harness going through the fire wall. this service department told me the next time the car failed in safe mode ( do not shut it off ), have it towed with the car running , this way they could check the codes in the fail mode. after 5 more times, it happened when the dealership was open. they did a software upgrade. a software 6 flash for tcm and a pcm. 3 days later on july 4 it happened 4 times, then 4 times going to work at night on july 4 for july 5. then on july 5 going to the dealership . i had it towed in safe mode. after about 2 hours they called me. it needs a new transmission. they said there are none in the usa, they are on back order, there is no time frame they can give me to how long it will take. i did get a rent a car, but my wife and i can not go kayaking. no racks on rentals and a smaller car does not do for me. now i have a payment and no car no time frame for when i get my car back pulse the liability of a rental that just does not work for us.
Experiencing hard shifts in the zf 9-speed transmission. this also includes a delayed 1st gear initiation, it regularly takes up to a second from when the pedal is depressed to when 1st gear gets initiated. often get hard shifts in 2nd and 3rd gear as well. these events occur on a regular basis.
I was backing out of a parking space and my car refused to go into reverse, but would go forward instead. i ended up having to stop the engine and restart the car in order to get it to go into reverse. a week later, i was driving and stopped for a minute by putting my foot on the brake and when i went to continue my car would not go forward. cars were honking their horns at me but i could not get it to go forward. finally i lightly touched the ignition switch and the car proceeded to drive forward. when i spoke to the dealership after the first incident, they said that i would have to reproduce the problem at least 5 times before they would address it. both incidents happened while i was in busy areas in our town.
Tl* the contact owns a 2014 jeep cherokee. while driving approximately 50 mph, the vehicle stalled and all the warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. the contact lost control of the vehicle and ended up in a ditch on the side of the road. the vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the cause of the failure could not be determined. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure recurred. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v5229000 (power train). the manufacturer was not notified. the approximate failure mileage was 43,000.
Tl* the contact owns a 2014 jeep cherokee. while driving various speeds or accelerating from a stop, the vehicle jerked, lost power, and shut down. in addition, the service shifter indicator illuminated. the vehicle restarted and was taken to classic chrysler jeep dodge ram of denton (940-230-2351, located at 4984 s interstate 35, denton, tx 76210) where the software was updated, but the failure recurred. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was approximately 25,000.
When the vehicle is in drive, it will go into neutral safety mode. this will not allow the vehicle to move. it has done this on 4 separate occasions. each time stranding the vehicle in the middle of the road and on 3 of the occasions the police have been called to ensure safety. it has to be towed back to the dealer and the first and third time we have been told the valve body needed replaced. the first time was in jan of 2016 and it went until may before the 2nd time occurred. we now have had the vehicle in the garage for all besides 2 weeks until it has done it for the 4th time. the third time we had it for 3 hours. we were told chrysler would nott replace the transmission on the last visit. there have been many reports of transmission problems reported to chrysler and that they are avoiding a serious safety issue with these vehicles. when these vehicles go into neatral safety mode. it leave the operator without a means to move out of traffic.
My jeep cherokee latitude has been plagued with transmission problems. at 20,000 miles transmission jerked and caused the car to basically stop unexpected on the road. death trap! i'm at 45,000 miles and back starting to go out again. this vehicle has major transmission issues and it's no secret. a lady even stopped me in hollywood and pulled up next to me and asked if i ever experienced jerking and stopping with the vehicle. are you kidding me this is so ramped and needs to be fully recalled before people get killed!
My vehicle has been running fine, until monday june 27, 2016 it stalled at a stop light, a few minutes later it cranked and i was on my way. yesterday june 28, 2016 it did the same thing. then today june 29,2016 it stalled and my check engine light turned on and said service transmission. i have read numerous complaints about the transmission in these vehicles. this just is not right.
Transmission failed while driving at about 60 mph on a highway. lost power, lost power steering. could barely steer car to the side of the road. turned off, waited, restarted and it ran fine. service transmission light came on for a while, then went off after about 50 miles. this happened for the second time on june 27, 2016. after the first time several months ago we took the vehicle to the dealership for a software update, this is really dangerous. losing power and power steering while traveling down a highway at 60 mph could result in an accident if it happened in traffic. luckily for us, traffic was light so we we able to get off the road on both times this has happened. must be a software defect, as the engine is running fine.
While driving, transmission suddenly shifts into neutral. the vehicle loses the ability to accelerate. all you can do is (hopefully) steer it to the side of the road without getting hit. this has happened twice now - the first time in november 2015, the second in june 2016. on both occasions i have taken it to our local jeep dealer for repair. all they do is "update" the software. this clearly isn't working. i called the "jeep cares" hotline and they refuse to talk about the issue, referring me back to the local dealer. the local dealer doesn't know what to do besides update the software. this is really dangerous. had we been travelling on a busy freeway with multiple lanes when this happened, it would likely have caused a crash. you lose the ability to accelerate! all you can do is steer! both times that it has happened we have been driving around 60 mph on rural highways.
Tl* the contact owns a 2014 jeep cherokee. when the ignition was turned to the on position while the vehicle was on an incline, it would not shift into drive. the vehicle went into neutral and drifted backwards. also, while driving approximately 65 mph, the accelerator pedal was depressed but the vehicle failed to accelerate and the speed reduced. the air bag warning indicator illuminated continuously. the failures recurred numerous times. the vehicle was not taken to a dealer or diagnosed. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 22,000.
My jeep stalls while it shifts gear while slowing down. if i anticipate the stop sign or light, and slow down gradually long before i get to the stop sign or light, it prevents stalls in most cases. this is very dangerous as you can imagine while in the middle of the interstate and between lanes, perhaps. the last time i was at my usual dealership was due to the transmission light being on and after a few days, that issue appear to be corrected, now this. if i could i would simply get rid of this vehicle.
About two weeks ago, as i was driving to work in my 14' jeep cherokee, the cluster read brake to park when i was driving up hill and the shifter was still in drive. when this occurred, the vehicle begin to slow down and came to dead stop in the middle of the highway where the vehicle behind me almost hit me from behind. at this point i put the shifter into park turned off the jeep, turned back on the jeep and drove it. the transmission light went on and i decided to take into the dealership as the jeep is still under warranty. the dealership retained the jeep for about a week, they ran updates and looked at the jeep. they do not why it occurred or if the updates they did resolved the shifting issue. at this point, i refused to drive the jeep home for the concern of my safety that it might happen again.
The transmission randomly slips. from a complete stop, the accelerator is depressed all the way, the rpms are at 5000 and the car does not accelerate. suddenly there is a loud bang and the tires will chirp and the car takes off. the dealer scans the computers and finds no error codes. how can that possibly be with a violent occurrence like this????? i think fca has doctored the software so that it won't show transmission error codes. with all the hundreds of complaints on this problem why aren't you investigating this? do people have to start dying before you get off your asses and do something?
The transmission jumps when shifting from first to second gear. the transmission also "drops" when shifting out of park to reverse.
When accelerating from a stop or low speeds, the transmission regularly takes several seconds to shift. once it does decide to shift it's often abruptly, usually causing the tires to spin. on numerous occasions this has been when trying to enter traffic, potentially leaving the vehicle stranded while entering. dealership's solution is a transmission software update/reset which generally works for a few thousand miles and then the issue returns.
Power lift gate will not operate all the time, sometimes i have to manually lift up the lift gate to get into the inside trunk area. recall r 27 has been performed in all 3 parts. check the electrical connectors, install module water shield, and replace module connectors and install module. i have been back to selling dealer for this issue many times for the inoperative hatch issue customer cairs have been opened on this issue with no success. dealer and chrysler advise me when it happens bring in the vehicle so we can see the problem. i am worried about the potential electrical fire potential due to this system not operating as designed. i have been to the dealer about this since dec of 2013 1 month after purchase due to the fact that the dealer can not duplicate the complaint at their shop nothing is written up because no problem found. the most recent trip to the dealer was june 13 2016. this issue always happens when the vehicle is in park engine running or engine off button on dash will not activate lift gate either key fob will not activate lift gate and when i get out of the vehicle to attempt to open lift gate with lift gate button this will not work either. i have to manually open the lift gate by opening the hatch and raising the lift gate as if the vehicle was not equipped with the power lift gate accessory. please help resolve this long standing issue, i retired from chrysler after 41 years of service in warranty, customer service and tech. i am not making up this issue. since the recall repair date of 4-15-2016 the trans will shift hard from stop lights also.
Tl* the contact owns a 2014 jeep cherokee. while driving 70 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning and failed to restart. the vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the electrical system failed and the valve body and body control module needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred three additional times. the contact mentioned that the vin was included in nhtsa campaign number: 16v529000 (power train). the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 11,000. the consumer stated the vehicle broke down on four separate occasions.. when the consumer tried to restart the vehicle, the electrical components came on and the engine tried to turn over, but failed. all power to the vehicle was working inside; radio, dash, touch screen and lights were on. the consumer tried to restart it again, but the engine did not even turn over, but all the electrical components continued to work. the consumer called a tow truck, and when he jump started it, the vehicle made a loud noise when dropping into gear and jerked upon acceleration. when the vehicle broke down the fourth time, it dropped out of gear with a jerking motion. the transmission failed while merging into the traffic. once the vehicle transmission dropped out of gear, the parking brake engaged and the vehicle proceeded to fish tail across three lanes of traffic. the vehicle loss power steering and failed to accelerate. updated 11/08/16.*jb updated 11/08/16*lj *tr
06/08/16 i was on my way to work when 2 houses down my vehicle suddenly wouldn't go and shut down and said "service transmission" "service park brake" "pull car over and put in p then desired gear." the check engine light and traction control light also came on and would not go away. i restarted the car multiple times and was finally able to get it moved off the road. the steering was difficult and when i put the vehicle in drive it made a loud noise and would't move. i put the car in drive and when i pressed the gas pedal the vehicle moved in reverse rather than forward. i put it in park again and restarted until i was able to get it back into my driveway. the messages about the parking brake and transmission had went away but check engine and traction control would not go off. after getting it back home i called chrysler to have them send a tow truck to take the vehicle to the dealership as this is a huge safety hazard to be on the road. upon arriving to the dealership, i asked for a loaner vehicle. after an hour wait i was informed that no loaners were available and had to rent a vehicle from enterprise (paid $50 out of pocket for deposit), because they wanted a transmission specialist look at it and his schedule was booked. before leaving, i was shown 12 codes that had popped up. the following day 06/09/16, i called chrysler's corporate office to see what options could be done to make this right as this is the 4th time total and 3rd in a 30 day window with transmission issues. they called the dealership and were informed that the dealership has tried to fix the issue but cannot find a solution to fix the issues i am having. corporate responded with saying that i would be given a case manager to handle my issues and they would contact me in the next 48 hours.
06/05/16 i was stopped at a light and when it turned green i began to go on the ramp for the highway and suddenly it wouldn't go and shut down and said "service transmission" "service park brake" "pull car over and put in p then desired gear." the check engine light and traction control light also came on and would not go away. i was almost rear ended because of this issue and was in the middle of the ramp not able to move my vehicle. i restarted the car multiple times and was finally able to get it moved off the road. the steering was difficult and when i put the vehicle in drive it made a loud noise and would't move. i put the car in park again and restarted until i was able to get it off the road. the messages about the parking brake and transmission had went away but check engine and traction control would not go off. it was a late sunday afternoon and the dealership was closed so i had to wait until the next day to bring it in to the dealership. i took it first thing monday morning (06/06/16) and sat there waiting for 4 hours until the service advisor came and told me my jeep needed some updates and the lever on the transmission was loose and they had to tighten it was fixed and everything was good to go. drove the vehicle straight home no issues and my husband drove it to work the following day with no issues reported. day 2 after repairs the same issues came back.
The car consistently downshifts and upshifts violently, especially when letting off the gas. has also stalled a handful of times while cruising at speeds <20mph.
Car intermittently has extremely rough shifts going from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd and will sometimes just not go anywhere during these shift points for a second or two, creating a problem when entering traffic. problem seems worse if the car is on an incline, even a slight incline. have had several software updates, but the problem persists.
Transmission failed to engage on start up, car limped to dealership, and is awaiting a new transmission. vehicle has less than 14500 miles
Please read...traveling on interstate 75 n / approximate speed 65 - 75 mph / vehicle "turned off, went dead" / coasted through two lanes to get to an emergency side spot! it truly is a miracle that we were not ran over!!! contacted a wrecker service and having to wait 1 1/2hrs on the side of a busy interstate, our vehicle was lifted and taken to a dealership / the wrecker driver wasn't able to get vehicle started or out of gear until he accessed help via his phone, which allowed him to move gear but still didn't crank / next day, a rep from the dealership called and said the vehicle started up and the issue mentioned above could not be replicated??? a strange report was given that there seem to be grease from an unknown source that was seen under the vehicle and perhaps that caused the problem??? we picked the vehicle up and made it home (70 mi) / this is extremely worrisome, not to mention, of course it could be deadly! please help.
Transmission does not know when to shift. when accelerating from a dead stop it seems under powered like it is in to high of a gear. then when i push down on the accelerator it lurches forward. if i were behind someone this could be dangerous.
When slowing down to almost a stop (i.e. light change from red to green) and then accelerating the car lunges or jerks forward sometimes with enough force to cause the rear wheels to spin. this occurs frequently but not all the time. this has been occuring for quite a while and has been taken into the dealer for transmission updates several times
Tl* the contact owns a 2014 jeep cherokee. when the contact shifted the vehicle into drive, it shifted in reverse on its own. the dealer could not duplicate the failure. the dealer kept the vehicle to attempt to replicate the failure. the contact stated that the same failure occurred approximately six times. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 11,200.
Vehicle incorrectly shifts gears typically while driver is breaking. the jeep either shifts to a gear that is to high or into neutral. vehicle virtually looses all automotive power. to correct issue vehicle must be shut off and restarted. typically the vehicle won't shift into drive on the first attempt after malfunction. issues happens multiple times a week. i recently the had recall done for this issue but problem reoccurred the next day.
The car shifts real hard causing the car to jerk at times, then it may stall, it has trouble accelerating and when you do it jerks. it happens from stopping to when your driving
Tl* the contact owns a 2014 jeep cherokee. while driving approximately 15 mph, the vehicle lost power and the dtc warning indicator illuminated. the vehicle restarted after several attempts, but the failure recurred several times. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where the failure could not be duplicated.the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v529000 (power train); however, the remedy was not yet available. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 20,000. vin tool confirms parts not available.
2014 jeep cherokee shifts rough in lower gears, shifts into neutral when driving on highway or coming down hills, and does not accelerate at all when stepping on gas and moving out into traffic, and transmission slipping. when taken to dealership at least 2 times, i reported the vehicle was unsafe. dealership (atlantic chrysler jeep) reported on service receipt, "unable to duplicate concern on road test".
05/14/16 i was stopped at a light and when it turned green i began to go and suddenly it wouldn't go and shut down and said "service transmission" "service park brake" "pull car over and put in p then desired gear." the check engine light and traction control light also came on and would not go away. i was almost rear ended because of this issue and was in the middle of the intersection not able to move my vehicle. i restarted the car multiple times and was finally able to get it moved off the road. the messages about the parking brake and transmission had went away but check engine and traction control would not go off. it was a late saturday afternoon and i called the dealership and explained what had happen. i was told they were about to close and i could bring it in monday. i took it first thing monday morning (05/16/16) and sat there waiting for 4 hours until the service advisor came and told me my jeep needed some updates and it was fine. i asked to speak to the mechanic and i wasn't allowed to and i have to argue with her to tell me what the updates were. i was assured the issue had been fixed with the transmission and parking brake with the updates....only to have the same issue 2-3 weeks later.
For the second time in a month the transmission failed. multiple vehicle warning systems started sounding include "check transmission", "put vehicle in park, then select gear", accompanied by warning chimes, the engine light, etc. it occurred during rush-hour traffic in washington, dc in 4 lanes of traffic - the vehicle transmission died. the same thing happened just over a month ago; the dealer claimed they did a software fix previously.
Vehicle stalling while in motion,(feels like it shifts itself into neutral) only dash notification is saying to to place in park and shift to desired gear. this happened 3 times in 3 days, all three time my safety was at risk as you are unable to accelerate. i had to wait until it coasts to a full stop to shift to park and then several tries to restart vehicle, once started car still will not move when pressing gas pedal for few moments although rpms are at 5 or 6 like its not in gear. in all instances i was in traffic and almost rear ended by other vehicles. there is no warning lights or sounds that make you aware that an issue is happening so you can pull to safety.jeep is in dealership now but am afraid they will tell me they cannot duplicate the problem, reflash the module and send me on the way. i have researched the problem and this is a common problem and common repair scenario at dealership but does not fix issue. i am afraid i will be rear ended by a fast moving vehicle as this has happened 2 times on the highway and once in middle of intersection. it is very scary when this happens as i have had my grandchildren in the vehicle 2 times when it occurred. i am very unhappy with this car as it is my first purchase not lease in 10 years. i don't know what i am going to do, still waiting to hear from dealership which is another issue as i took in yesterday at 7am and it is now the 2nd day at 9 am and nobody has called. i missed a day of work yesterday and have to go out of town for work for 2 days tomorrow. this report is my proof if i should be killed in my jeep that theres an issue of it stalling in traffic and highway conditions.
On may 5, 2016, i was driving on a well traveled street in my 2014 jeep cherokee latitude. i had just made a right turn and was driving at a slow pace in order to merge into on coming traffic. i pressed on the gas and nothing happened. i looked at the dash and realized that the car had shut down. i had no engine power, no electrical, nothing. i managed to coast to the right lane, and attempted to restart the car; nothing happened. after sitting for approximately 10 minutes, the car finally started. i immediately drove to the dealership with the check engine light on. the car was kept for a week, and i was told they were unable to duplicate the concern. i picked the car up and two weeks later the check engine came on again. once again, i immediately drove to the dealership. after two days, i was told the transmission needed to be replaced (car is currently in shop awaiting this repair). prior to this incident, this car had been to the dealership at least two times for what seemed to be transmission related issues; slamming into gear and lurching forward. each time i was told the issue could not be duplicated.
