Problems with 2003 Infiniti G35 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Car will not restart after only sitting less than 48 hours. battery has been checked and not problem with alternator. many reports on internet about similar complaints from infiniti g 35 2003 owners. *tr

The radio system malfunctions on an intermittent basis due to cold solder join on radio circuit board. other engine functions and air conditioning controls are routed through the radio circuit board so when this fails, it presents a dangerous situation. when the radio system malfunctions, the air conditioner is set to maximum setting. also in some cases, the malfunctioning radio results in battery drain. infiniti previously issued a recall but the repaired radios also exhibit the same defect. i have contacted infiniti and they decline any responsibility. local infiniti service manager states this is a well-known issue with infiniti radios. would like nhtsa to compile statistics to determine if infiniti should have extended recall campaign. *tr

Apparently standard problem with 2003 infiniti g35... bose amplifier draws considerable current when car is turned off. if car isn't started for 2 days, battery is dead. i just became aware of this problem today. dealer -- who clearly knew the problem existed last year -- sold me new battery, and never mentioned this standard problem. that battery, purchased 7/23/07 was dead thursday 6/26/08 and again wednesday, 7/2/08. *tr

My infiniti 2003 g35 radio circuit board failed because of faulty engineering. this causes the windshield defrost function to stop working. there are thousands of other complaints on the internet sitting the same problem. infiniti wants 800.00 to repair the radio to get the defroster to work again. this is happening for all people that have g35 2003. *tr

Cd got stuck in cd player. radio started cutting in and out. then the dash panel that controlled the stereo, cd, heater, ac, etc does not function properly. the a/c does not shut off, whereas all the other devices do not turn on. i can still use the controls on the steering wheel but the other controls on the dash (except navigation) stop working. *tr

In february 2007 the cd player ate my cd and i noticed the heater became deactivated almost simultaneously. this is the 2nd time i would need to replace the audio system. originally, when the car was under warranty, the dealer replaced said system. these are all factory parts. when i reported the problem to the dealership they simply told me i would have to replace the audio system and circuit board unit at a cost of approximately $1500. the problem has been intermittent. i wrote a letter to infiniti requesting financial assistance, more than 6 months ago, and to date never received a response. the dealership knew about this problem, however, it was a independent repair shop that cited the "technical service bulletin", and recommended i contact the dealer. as of december 3, 2008, the dealer still expect me to pay for the repairs in total, and assumes no responsibility. *tr

2003 infiniti g-35 blown up in driveway and house caught fire. *bf the fire department determined the fire originated inside of the trunk where the trunk light bulb became so hot that the light bulb exploded, the hot particles from the light bulb caught the trunk and the contents in the trunk on fire. the consumer stated she forgot to close the trunk securely. before the fire, the consumer stated she had electrical problems with the window and sunroof. *jb

1. squeeks from passenger side door with music loud. 2. did not have ash tray when car bought. coins have fallen in and now cant close ash tray. 3. the paint on the bumper clearly does not match trunk. possibly in accident, even though car had 10 miles on it when bought. 4. the cd changer takes 9 seconds to change cd? 5. the headlight sensor turns on headlights when passing under short bridge-to sensitive. 6. documentation does not explain what the auto volume does. had to learn by trial and error. 7. several squeeks and rattles. only 8000 miles and it sounds like 60,000 miles with all the squeeks and rattles. 8. cant turn off the traction control, sometimes you want to have fun or need to get out of snowy terrain. 9. heated seats only have 2 settings, to hot and ok during cool weather. 10. gas mileage is not what is reported!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i have never gotton better then 19 mpg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! sometimes as low at 12 mpg. 11. rear defroster takes forever to even get fog off the glass, let alone snow. 12. brakes are squeeking. why, the car is brand new. 13. front seat is not as comfortable as i would expect for a car of this price. 14. need a volume control that is round, so you can adjust quickly in the event of an emergency, ie; do i hear sirens?

While the vehicle was parked a fire started in the rear brake compartment. *ak the lights on dashboard were intermittent. the rear light and speaker area had a possible electrical short per dispatcher. *sc *jb
