We have classified the 213 complaints from 2003 Infiniti G35 about ELECTRICAL SYSTEM into the following categories.
Loss of controls to 03 g35 radio/ac/heat. initial power failure only affected console controls and wheel controls still worked for radio control. about a month later the wheel controls went as well. entire blower for ac/air and heat is gone. entire console kit and stereo had to be replaced. old stereo was retained. *tr
#rd brake light went out on my 2003 g35. *tr
My 2003 infiniti g35 sedan experiences intermittent failure of the control panel for operation of the a/c, radio, etc. because of this electrical problem, the engine throttle is unable to be reset. it idles at 1000 rpm and does not reduce rpms when slowing or stopping the vehicle. this causes a shaking of the vehicle. while this make, model, and year vehicle do appear on a recall list, the vin number is out of range so the dealer will not repair the vehicle. *tr
Climate control/stereo control panel failure. there is a 'voluntary service campaign audio finisher circuit board' (campaign i.d. # :p3104 applied vehicle: 2003 g35 sedan (v35) applied vins:vehicles built between jnkcv51e*3m000014 - 026621) however, it is affecting more vehicles outside of their parameters. my manufacture date is 12/02 and this campaign only covers models through 08/02. this is unacceptable with a known issue of models manufactured the same year. the climate control panel failure is a safety issue as you can not use the defrost buttons with inclement weather conditions. *tr
Electrical. radio shuts and it controls all of the interior controls. *tr
Intermittent loss of control of radio, a/c, front window defogger and rear window defroster. discussed with dealer (not very helpful) and had a local repair shop look into the problem. they suggested replacement of audio finisher circuit board by dealer as reprogramming of the radio is required and can only be done by the dealer.
A/c came on randomly at high speed,,could now turn of,,fog my windows will my niece was in back in her baby seat,,i tried turning the fan's off,,could not turn of,,and heater and cd malfunction together. went to dealer they would not replace, will cost 1300,,it was electric problem. i always keep my car up to service. *tr
As i was traveling down the road, my a/c turned on by itself and my radio display went away. i was unable to turn off my a/c or control my radio. none of the buttons on the center console worked. *tr
Air conditioning unit comes on randomly and would not shut off. at the same time, the radio became inoperable. initially this problem would happen just a couple of times per week, but now it's a permanent issue. infiniti recognizes that a problem exists, but will not recall because they claim that it's not a safety issue. this is a huge safety issue because i cannot control the front or rear defrost. *tr
My 2003 infiniti g-35 radio went out will not come on at all. my a/c comes on whenever i turn the car on and i can not turn it off. my passenger side window won't go up and the passenger side seat will not stop moving even after i have let go of the buttons. it folded my passenger like a sandwich. when i took it to the infiniti dealer the salemans said that the audio system installed in my years make and model number was defected and they were aware that the life of this system would only last about five years. *tr
The car was bought without the knowledge that the cd player would not eject or take any cd's; this information was not divulged by the seller, bob moore motors of oklahoma city, ok. after having the car for a little over a month, the entire center console (ac controls and radio controls) became unresponsive. the car now emits 90 air on auto ac, forcing me to drive with my window down at all times. in addition, i am unable to turn on the radio or tape player with either the center console buttons or those on the steering wheel. the radio is a raw deal but not my biggest concern. i live in kansas and when it is not very hot (not looking forward to seeing what 90 auto ac feels like in the summer) it is very windy and it makes it difficult to drive with the constant wind noise. i am nervous to drive the car altogether because i do not trust the entire electrical system anymore and am afraid i will get stuck somewhere. *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2003 infiniti g35 sedan. while driving 40 mph, the contact attempted to turn on the rear defroster but it would not turn on. he was also unable to change any of the climate control or radio settings. after three days, he was able to change the radio and climate control settings. the failure continued intermittently and the contact called an authorized dealer; he was informed that the failure was within the audio finisher circuit board. the vehicle had not been repaired. the failure mileage was approximately 75,000 and the current mileage was approximately 88,000.
Center console control buttons do not operate. can't operate defroster and can't see out front windshield. *tr
Failure of heat, air & radio controls 2003 infiniti g35. recall for2003 model same failure as the recall but per infiniti this car is not covered by recall.car taken to kearny mesa infiniti they found the circuit board failed. i the vin # should be expanded to included all 2003 g35 as they have the same circuit board. *tr
Electrical issues auto a/c stays on none of the console buttons work. stereo doesn't work 3rd brake light went out. bose sound is not working. i have not got t fixed it yet. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2003 infiniti g35. the radio, heater and air conditioning console had an electrical failure. he notified an infiniti dealer in reference to a recall, and was advised that the recall repair had previously been performed. the contact has to pay $1,300.00 to repair the vehicle. a representative from the manufacturer advised him that if he did not drive a hour and a half to an authorized dealer for an assessment, they would not provide any assistance. the current and failure mileages were approximately 85,000. updated 11/10/09 *bf the rear window defroster was inoperative. updated 11/13/09.*jb
A/c controls/electrical failing on vehicle... during summer months do not have ability to lower a/c (blows hot air). during winter months do not have access to heater or window defroster creating road hazard and personal safety issues. 2003 infiniti g35 couple. *tr
The ac unit/radio are not in working order. the ac is stuck on at 74 and ranges from blowing air full blast to the lowest setting very sporadically. there is no power to the radio and either of the two can be turned on or off up or down. this is a big inconvenience since we live where it is very hot! also worried that with it being an electrical issue a fire could arise! not very impressed for driving an infiniti and thought they lived up to a better reputation. *tr
Shortly after purchasing my infiniti, i noticed that the fuel gauge was not registering the level correctly. when the gauge reaches approximately one-quarter tank full, the gauge drops to well below the e mark and the warning light comes on. even after purchasing approximately twenty dollars worth of gas the gauge still registers below the e mark and the light stays on. last week on september 1, 2011, i went to purchase gas because the light was on. i know my tank holds twenty gallons when empty, so i thought it would take approximately seventy dollars to fill up, but to my surprise the pump stopped at fifty-three dollars, which was about thirteen gallons. the gauge on the dash did not even register to the f mark, it stopped on three-quarters full, even though i tried a couple of times to fill the tank even more. i replaced the fuel tank level sender in august of 2011 with a new part, but this has not helped. this is a safety issue, as i do not know the correct fuel level in the vehicle, which could lead to my stalling out on a roadway and am not able to pull to the side of the road. i am aware of other infiniti models going through recalls because of fuel gauge problems which sound identical to what i am experiencing, so maybe this should be investigated further. i also have researched this problem on the internet and quite a few blogs detail the exact experience i am having. *tr
There is an apparent known defect in the 2003 infiniti g35 models. the radio and climate control will apparently lose all indicators, as if there is no power, but will continue to function, staying frozen on at their last settings. the radio volume or channels cannot be changed and the air conditioning/heater,etc. are stuck on their last settings and cannot be changed without turning the car off. this is caused by a defective control board behind the dash. infiniti/nissan is aware of the problem, and has issued a voluntary service campaign (# itb03-007b) to repair the 26,300 vehicles listed by vin # on the service bulletin. this is a hazard , as in the winter, the front or rear defrosters cannot be turned on, or the air conditioning turned off, causing a hazardous driving condition. infiniti says my 2003 vin # does not fall into the bulletin parameters, (vin # is higher), and they will not cover the repairs, even though it is the same problem. infiniti states the cost to repair.........$2600.00. i have 2 other friends that are having the same problem with their 2003 g35 infiniti's, also not covered by the service bulletin. it is apparent that the bulletin did not go far enough to cover this defect on a larger quantity of vehicles than infiniti wants to admit. *tr
1. intermittent no control of ac and radio. 2. non functioning stereo/radio and no control over ac 3. none. *tr
Something was draining the battery in the electrical system. one day while trying to start the car after it had been sitting for a few days, everything flickered (headlights, dashlights, control panel) and then the car wouldn't start. charged the battery and then the radio, ac/heater/defroster did not work properly. have seen many similar complaints on the internet. *tr
I have lost control of the a/c and radio controls in my 2003 infiniti g35. i have been experiencing this problem on and off for the past 3 weeks. i did not realize that this was a major safety issue until last night when i was unable to turn on the front or rear window defrosters. i could barely see while driving on the freeway. i contacted infiniti and they told me that this problem was well known and that it would cost $1600 to fix!! they said that they had previously issued a recall for this problem but my car did not qualify. this is a safety issue and will become an even bigger issue in the winter months when you need the window defroster on a daily basis. *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2003 infiniti g35 sedan. the contact had the circuit board replaced in 2003 according to a technical service bulletin due to multiple electrical failures. a few years after the repair, the defrost and radio also failed. she notified the dealer and was advised by a technician that she needed to replace the radio. no repairs were made because she suspects that the technicians have incorrectly identified the cause of the failure. the failure mileage was unknown and the current mileage was 95,000.
Controls on console for heating/air/defroster and radio failed & remain inoperable. heat/air are locked on at 75 degrees & cannot be adjusted. cannot turn on defroster. as a consequence car is unsafe to drive when defroster is necessary. numerous similar complaints have already been reported to nhtsa and are on this site. in feb 2003 infiniti did a voluntary service campaign to replace a circuit board regarding this problem for early 2003 vehicles, but my vehicle and untold others were not covered as vin was subsequent to cars covered by recall. infiniti needs to address this safety issue and be subject to a recall to replace all defective circuit boards. *tr
2003 infiniti g35 sedan battery was dead after not starting vehicle for more than 3 days. the cd player is the culprit and the "eject" continues to cycle even with the car turned off. this is the second time in 4 months that the new battery is dead after sitting for a few days. *tr
My 2003 infinity g35 sedan's heater will stay on high with the radio and heating control removed. i can access the radio through the stereo, but have no dashboard controls of the radio or ac at all. *tr dealership wants "pre-paid" a $700 audio finisher/circuit board. when the part came in, they would install it, and if the radio/cd player was defective, it would fry the finisher immediately, but then they would know that the radio was bad, and would send it out for a re-build for approximately $350 and two weeks worth of waiting with no tunes or ventilation system. plus labor, of course.
Radio and heater not working. *tr
I own a 2003 infiniti g35 sedan v6 beginning in june 2009 my radio would randomly turn off and my ac would kick on full blast. in july it got worse and ultimately i lost all controls of radio and air controls including the defroster. major problem here is i have no control of a/c which runs my gas down and no control of the defroster which is a major problem while driving due to the cold a moist months. i can't afford the cost of fixing the radio. apparently the reason for this issue is a faulty radio. i don't understand if my radio dies why should my defroster not be accessible. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2003 infiniti g35. the contact stated his radio, heater, and air conditioner failed due to a defective circuit. during the winter months, the contact was unable to defrost the windows properly which caused unsafe driving conditions. the vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing and the dealer confirmed that the circuit needed to be replaced at the owner's expense. the manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. the failure and current mileage was 113,000.
The display on my radio started to go out and made it so i had no control over the radio and the ac/heater. it went off and on randomly for the past year, now my radio is completely dead and still have no control over my a/c controls so it blows at my feet. now that temp. outside is getting into the 30's, and i need my defrost to be able to see through my windshield but can't control it... *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2003 infiniti g35. while the contact started the vehicle, the air conditioner would automatically activate without intent and failed to deactivate. the vehicle was taken to an authorize dealer who informed the contact that the radio would need to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired previously under a manufacturer voluntary service campaign pertaining to the audio finisher circuit board. in addition, there was a circuit shortage causing failure with the alternator and battery. the vehicle was currently being repaired for the malfunction. the approximate failure mileage was 70,000.
Radio, front and rear defrost and climate control all stopped working. *tr
No radio or heat controls. *tr
1) failure of the a/c and audio controller - audio circuit board issue 2) driver power seat doesn't work - issue with track motors and trails 3) cd changer stopped working with cd stuck in the player. *tr
Intermittent heater, defroster, ac, audio failure. this is a safety issue with regard to the inability to defrost / de-ice the wind shield. there are numerous complaints from other owners on this site and others. no response or support from infinity. *tr
G35 infiniti-electrical issues such as radio not working, car locking by itself-wife was driving on freeway and heater defrost stopped working, windshield fogged up and had to pull to side of freeway, could no longer drive safely-called dealer $900 to repair circuit board and replace radio. *tr
Problem started with radio not displaying any lights or script across display. after about a week the radio would not come on until the engine had been running for a few minutes and still would not display any lights the whole time. a few days later the temperature controls stopped being accessible. the buttons for the radio and the temp controls don't work. the temperature now does whatever it wants based on the auto controls. it will randomly change whether the air blows from the floor level or on top, and change force of air that blows out. there is no way of setting defrost. the only way anything can be changed with the radio is through the controls on the steering wheel. around september of the previous year the cd player stopped working as well. it would run constantly as if trying to read the disc even when the keys were out of the ignition and won't ever play. it also won't eject the cds. *tr
1) called the dealership and was told there is a technical bulletin on how to fix the problem but it wasn't a recall and will cost approx. $800 due to a malfunctioning of a circuit board. 2) the climate control and radio are inoperable about every other time we start the car. i read current recalls for this exact problem for the sedan and not the coupe. i just don't understand that. i know there are other's with the same issue. hope this become a recall soon. *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2003 infiniti g35. the contact stated that the welding joint was coming apart and damaging the base. the dealer stated that the entire base was unsafe and needed to be replaced. the vehicle is currently at the dealer being repaired at the owner's expense. there is a service bulletin for the vehicle, but the number was unavailable. the failure and current mileages were 46,000. the consumer stated in january 20009, the driver's seat began to rock back forth whenever he accelerated from a complete stop. at first, the rocking was isolated to when acceleration occurred from a complete stop. however, after two weeks the rocking would occur when traveling at highway speeds of about 70 mph. eventually, the condition of the driver's seat became so severe that the seat could be rocked back and forth without any person seated in it. the driver's seat assembly was replaced at the consumers expense. updated 02/09/11 the consumer stated while driving in inclement weather, the window defroster suddenly shut off on its own. at the same time, the air conditioner reset itself to 60 degrees and turned itself on at maximum force. the lights on the climate control panel and radio panel went dark. attempts were made to shut off the air conditioner and restart the window defrosted, but the climate control button were non-responsive. it was discovered that the only way to control the radio was through the control buttons located on the steering wheel. unlike the radio there was no secondary climate control button. within 30 seconds of the window defroster shutting off, all of the windows inside the vehicle became foggy. the vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was discovered the audio finisher circuit board was defective and that along with the radio would have to be replaced at a cost of $ 1,329.01. the dealer stated the radio and climate controls were both intertwined with the audio finisher circuit board. updated 09/10/12 the consumer stated the audio finisher board was replaced. updated 10/10/1
2003 infiniti g35 coupe 3rd brake light is out (inside glass). this is a common issue with the g35. it needs to be brought to nissan of america's attention. this could possibly cause an accident. i have seen that 28 people have filed a complaint to you on my car forum. but i feel that this issue needs to be addressed asap. if it were just one car with the issue then i would gladly pay for it, but since this is a common issue, nissan of america needs to fix this as it was a production issue. *tr
1) called the dealership and was told there is a technical bulletin on how to fix the problem but it wasn't a recall and will cost approx. $800 due to a malfunctioning of a circuit board. 2) the climate control and radio are inoperable about every other time we start the car. this could be life threatening due to no defrost while driving will cause no visibility. 3) i feel this should be a recall since there are many complaints with the year model 2003 infiniti g35 posted online with the same issue. infiniti knows about the flaw and even corrected it on their 2004 and later g35 models so what about the 2003 owners. *tr
The a/c controls, defrost, radio controls on my infiniti g35 stopped working. no buttons on the console will work. infiniti says that the circuit board has malfunctioned causing all of the controls on the console including the defrost, heating and air and stereo controls. *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2003 infinti g35. while driving approximately 40 mph on normal road conditions; the control selector mode for the radio was engaged and suddenly caused the defrost and the heating system to malfunction. the failures occurred intermittently which became worse over a period of time and occurred continuously. the vehicle has not been repaired. the contact had concerns of the safety risk involved. the failure mileage was 60,000 and the current mileage was 80,000. updated 10/13/09. *lj the consumer stated the climate control button is stuck in the ac-on position. the climate control buttons to change to heat, to set temperature and operate the defroster do not work and the radio does not work. updated 10/26/09 *bf the climate control is stuck in the ac-on position. the climate control buttons are needed to change the heat settings etc. updated 10/28/09.*jb
My ac/radio would turn off and on by itself. i would have no control over the heat/ac temperature in my car nor the fan levels. sometimes when this problem was occurring, i could control the radio with the steering wheel controls. this started in the fall of 08'. as time went on the problem became more frequent and would only be corrected if i turned the car off then on again. since early fall 09' i no longer have any control over the ac/radio at all. my ac unit has been stuck at 75 degrees and continuously blows air, at different levels. sometimes it's at high and i have to open a window to bring cool air in and sometimes it runs at a low fan speed. last summer it was not that bad because the problem was not permanent problem at that point, it was just more of an annoyance. this year i fear that i could be in trouble due to the temperature being stuck at 75 degrees and the hot temperatures here in phoenix, my fear is that i will experience heat exhaustion as i am driving and possibly become ill or pass out while driving.
Tl*the contact owns a 2003 infiniti g35 sedan. the contact stated that the electrical system works intermittently, causing loss of defrost and air conditioning. due to the high humidity in his state, the contact was unable to defrost the rear glass due to the malfunction in the electrical system. the vehicle has not been diagnosed by the dealer. he noticed several complaints on the internet regarding the same failure. the failure mileage was 132,000 and current mileage was 133,600.
Well i bought this car from bellflower auto mart thinking that i bought a pretty dependable car come to find out the previous owner was drinking and driving and totaled the car, so now the car should have a salvage title but it doesnt the airbag system in the car does not work at all, the dealer bought the wrecked car from auction and repaired it themselves and sold it to me as if it was never in any accident, i asked for the carfax report but it unfortunately slipped my mind after all the paper work, but i went the next day to return the car after i found all this out and was kicked off the property. *tr
I presently own a 2003 infinit g35. the entire climate control functions and dash lights do not function because of a problem with the radio. a recall was initiated for the "audio finisher circuit board" by infiniti but the problem still exists. these items will suddenly stop working while driving the vehicle. this happened to me while driving. these items do not function at present. an infiniti dealer infomred of the recall and also infomred me that my vehicle had already had the circuit board replaced and that the only other problem that would cause this would be the radio. i was also infomred that this is a common problem with this model infiniti and infiniti will not take responsibilty for this problem or the repairs. repairs cost from $600 to $1250. that price quote was stated to by infiniti. just a note, all equipment i am referrring to is factory installed. no aftermarket equipment has been installed. *tr
Electrical problem: the dash lights, radio, air conditioner, defrost, and heat go out 1-2 times a day. when this happens, i have no interior lights to read odometer, etc. and cannot defrost windows. i contacted dealer who said it was the radio causing problem at a cost of $1200+. contacted out-of-state dealer who said it was ignition switch. dealer said they can't diagnose problem correctly unless it is failing at the time. internet forum shows many people with this problem. *tr
