Problems with 2019 Ford F-250 STEERING

On average, the 2019 Ford F-250 starts to “feel” problems with the STEERING and its various aspects after 18 943 miles.

Recently reported STEERING problems on 2019 Ford F-250

Traveling at 65mph the front end started death wobble after hitting a small bump in the road way it got so bad that i thought the pickup was going to hit the guard rail after bring the vehicle to a complet stop on the interstate in traffic i finally stop it definitely got my attention that i had it happen five more times and i took the f250 to the shop

I was driving on the interstate at 75 mph (posted speed limit in texas), crossed onto a bridge and the entire front end began to violently shake and bounce. the steering wheel was turning back and forth. the only way i could gain control of the truck was to slow down and move over to the right shoulder and almost stop. this was almost 10 days ago on a saturday. i took it to the dealership on the following monday. coincidentially, there was another man there with a 2018 f250 with the same issue. my truck is a 2019 and has 16,600 miles on it. i've taken it to the dealership and the tech told me that ford has known about the issue for a long time. he specifically mentioned the degree of camber in the front end. they've ordered parts and he stated that he has personally repaired over a hundred trucks with this problem. he stated that he will "replace the parts and readjust the degree of camber back to where he likes it" and "that should fix the problem". tonight, nov 10, 2019, as i'm driving to work, it happened again on level ground on an entrance ramp to the interstate at approximately 50 mph. i had to slow down to approx 25 mph to get the shaking and oscillations to stop.

Going 70 mph down the highway i crossed a railroad crossing the truck started shaking so violently i thought the truck was going to break in half. i slowed down to almost a dead stop before i could regain control of the truck.

I was driving on the interstate approximately 70 mph and hit a small bump in the road a the steering wheel started to shake uncontrollably and the whole truck was shaking. i had to pull over and slow down befor it quit.

My vehicle is a 2019 f250 super duty powerstroke diesel crew cab short bed. i was traveling down the highway at approximately 60 miles an hour. i encountered a small bump in the road that led to a violent shaking of the front end suspension. i thought perhaps a lug nut broke off allowing one of the wheels to wobble. i took my foot off the excelerator and lightly tapped my brakes in an effort to slow the vehicle down and pull off to the side of the road. i traveled approximately 100 yards before the violent shaking stopped and i was able to pull off to the side of the road inspect my tires. to my surprise the tires we're not missing any lugnuts and they seemed tight, i crawled underneath to see if anything had broken to my surprise nothing was broken. this happened once before for a much shorter distance and i brought it to ford immediately. they stated nothing was found wrong with the vehicle. i will be bring this vehicle back to ford and they better have a better answer thus time!!!

Tl* the contact owns a 2019 ford f-250. while driving approximately 65-70 mph on grooved pavement, the vehicle experienced the "death wobble". the contact lost control of the vehicle and it veered into the lane of oncoming traffic. the vehicle was taken to leif johnson ford (501 e koenig ln, austin, tx 78751, (512) 454-3711) on three separate occasions to have the vehicle diagnosed. the contact was informed that the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was informed of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 18,000. *bf *tp

I hit a bumpy but normal patch on i-40 at about 65 mph. the truck started shaking violently and it felt as though a wheel was coming off. i lost control of the vehicle as it was extremely hard to steer. i thought i was entering a severe accident and was fearful for my life and that of my two daughters. i braked hard while surrounded by other vehicles and was able to pull over to the shoulder without a collision. i inspected the truck and did not see anything wrong. had this happened in a slightly different circumstance such as navigating a turn on the highway it would have caused a wreck. i have looked online and it appears that this is happening a lot with these vehicles and nothing is being done about it!!! i guess people's lives just aren't worth fixing an expensive problem. help us

Tl* the contact's company owns a 2019 ford f-250. while driving 45 mph and higher, the vehicle exhibited the death wobble. the failure occurred intermittently when the vehicle was driven over speed humps and potholes. the vehicle was taken to north county ford (located at 450 w vista way, vista, ca 9208, 888-689-6190) where it was diagnosed that the steering damper needed to be replaced; however, they were unsure if that would resolve the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified. the approximate failure mileage was 33,000.

I have experienced the death wobble 3 times in a week. front end violently shaking at 65 mph and had to slam on my brakes on the interstate almost caused a wreck.

While driving at 65 mph on the interstate, i drove over an expansion joint connected to an overpass. suddenly my front tires started oscillating violently and i lost control of the vehicle. i was able to immediately apply the breaks and regained control after slowing to below 30mph and veering into the lane to my left. luckily, there was not another vehicle in that position. the vehicle has just under 15k miles on it. i use it as a commuter to work via mostly highway roads. i currently feel very unsafe driving it above 60mph and so i'm unable to drive it to work until this situation is remedied.

Had 5 incidents occur with "death wobble". started at approximately 8500 miles at 65 mph. had to slow vehicle to 55-60 mph to stop shaking. had shaking occur at 65, 70, 75 and 80 mph. hitting slight pavement bumps on roads/freeways and pavement to bridge transitions. recorded one incident on video with passenger. took vehicle in and steering damper was replaced with rancho brand due to back order of parts.seems to only resolved issue temporary as the shaking is coming back again. wife refuses to drive the truck now, had to invest in another safer vehicle due to this f250. happened once with a trailer attached and nearly caused us to get rear ended by a semi on the freeway.

While operating vehicle under normal conditions, between 25 and 65 mph, the steering wheel will jerk and shake violently when crossing uneven pavement surfaces, such as expansion joints for bridges or overpasses, or potholes. the problem is noticeable on highways and side streets, and both straight and curved sections of road. on multiple occasions the only way to stop the shaking was to slow down below 20 mph, or come to a complete stop.

Vehicle begins to shake violently & uncontrollable when going over a rough road surface. feels like the tires are going to fall off. dealer and manufacturer both have acted as if they know little about the huge problem. dealer parts for repairs are always back ordered as most dealership will willingly admit that there is no fix for the problem as of today. i went to multiply dealerships to find honesty and they are hiding the fact that they have a major issue with the best selling truck they offer. this is your job to protect consumers from danger and this certainly is the most dangerous vehicle i have ever been a part of .

Sometimes when i hit a bump in the road the steering wheel will start shaking violently and become uncontrollable. i have been back to the dealer 3 times and it is still doing it. they acknowledge the problem but dont know what else to try. i have also contacted ford, they were fast to respond to email for a while but have not responded in the last month. i have several videos of this happening, my wife is scared to drive the truck at all. it has 13000 miles. i have saved all email communication with ford, and all my documents from when i took it in for the service work. they replaced several parts on the front end, they would help for a while but the death wobble would return in less than 1000 miles. this truck is not safe.

Experiencing death wobble at 65mph, excessive vibrating and shocks. vehicle wants to bump of the road if not being steered with two hands. it is getting worse with every trip

Truck front end shakes violently when hitting an irregular road surface or expansion joint driving at highway speeds - the only remedy is to abruptly brake to speeds around 20 mph to stop the "wobble" and resume driving - this presents a highly dangerous condition due to having to brake so abruptly and potentially cause a rear end collision for other cars.

I was traveling on a highway at approximately 70 mph under dry road conditions when i hit a bump and my steering wheel / front wheels started shaking uncontrollably, i had to slow down to 30mph before it would stop. this happened 3 more times on the same day, all after hitting bumps or rough spots on highway. the truck is very hard to control when this happens. i'm concerned for the safety of myself & anyone riding with me especially with winter coming and road conditions worsening. it is currently at the ford dealership waiting to be fixed. however, with the experience of others i'm not real confident the problem will be resolved.

Experienced violent steering oscillation while traveling straight at 75 mph while crossing a control joint at a highway overpass. the vehicle felt like it was going to shake to pieces and shook until it came to a complete stop. i had no control of the vehicles steering, only braking. i took it to the dealer and they replace the steering stabilizer. the vehicle is already exhibiting wobble after only a few thousand miles since the stabilizer was replaced. i am concerned that the steering and suspension components are not designed correctly or loose.

General driving at freeway speeds drove over highway overpass that had a slight bump. after vehicle suspension reacted to the bump, it went into a violent steering wheel shake that would not stop until the truck was pulled to the side of the road and stopped. violent shake also happens when applying the brakes from higher speeds to a stop at random times. the recent occurrence happened while ramping onto a highway and applying brakes to negotiate a curve. truck was checked by dealership recently and stabilizer was replaced but shake still exists at times, however a violent episode has not occurred yet again

Driving at highway speeds hit a rough patch in road and a violent shaking of steering wheel occured. almost lost control of vehicle. did not stop shaking until i slowed down to 30 mph on the interstate. truck is 100% stock

Death wobble driving down the highway hits a bum and the steering wheel shakes out of your hands making it unsafe to drive, no control. having to come to a stop when it quits.

I purchased a new 2019 ford f250 super duty truck from sanderson ford in glendale az. the problem is with the front end. when i hit a bump or grove in the road going over 50 mph (i was going 70mph and 65mph when this happened). the truck starts shimmying so severely that i immediately have to come to a stop to get the shimmying to stop. once i stop and start going again everything seems to be ok. this has happened twice and both times has nearly caused an accident. i know if my wife would have been driving she would have had an accident. i have taken it to the dealer and waited two months with a part supposedly ordered and it had not come in. i then went back and said they needed to make this an emergency order. they did and it has been three weeks and no part. i'm thinking ford has no fix for this and this is a very dangerous problem. i paid 60k for this vehicle and added another 5800.00 for extended warranty and maintenance contract all to have a vehicle i am afraid may go into this shimmy at any time when driving down the road. i need your help to make ford aware they need to fix this problem. i'm fine with the truck otherwise but i need this fixed. this truck is suppose to get me through retirement. i don't have this kind of money to spend on replacing it as i would lose tons of money if i had to trade it in already. the truck has 9k miles. please help. thank you.

The truck has the "death wobble". driving 55 or above is dangerous if you hit a bump, the truck starts to violently shake and must be brought to a complete stop in order to regain control. i've owned the truck for less than 45 days and tomorrow will be the second time it's been to the dealership for this issue.

We were driving down the highway doing roughly 70-75 mph and hit a small bump in the road (almost like a double groove in the pavement). immediately after we hit the bump, the entire truck began to shake violently almost to the point that it felt as if it was "floating" on the road. the first time it happened we thought we had blown a tire, so we reduced our speed and moved to the shoulder of the road. as it turns out, we had not; we checked the vehicle to see if any of the sensors indicated that anything was wrong. it appeared as if everything was okay so we went back to driving to work. the next day, the very same thing occurred and again, we pulled over. this time, we didn't get out to check the tires but we did run through our sensors but again, everything appeared fine. so, we slowly returned to driving. as soon as we got to work we immediately called the dealership and had them pick the truck up within the next couple of hours. as of right now, the truck is at the dealership. with what little research we have done, it appears that our truck has what is being called the "death wobble".

While driving on the road, (about 60 mph), and i hit a bump, the whole front end started to shake violently. i had to slow down quickly to about 30 mph to get it to stop. the same thing happened twice more that day. i called my ford dealer and they had me bring it down. the said that it sounded like the "death wobble". they replaced the steering damper and about two weeks later it started wobbling again. when i brought it in the first time it had less than 11,000 miles on it. now it has less than 12,000 miles on it and it is doing it again. fortunately, this has not happened while i was on a highway or it could have caused an accident. they are going to try again but everything that i have researched on this says that there is no fix and ford will not do anything unless there is a recall. people are going to get seriously hurt or killed when this problem occurs.

With 10,000 miles it has started the death wobble. driving highway speeds- when hitting a bump, the front end shakes uncontrollably until the vehicle is stopped.

My truck has the "death wobble" for the second time. it was repaired at 12,000 miles for this problem and is doing it again at 20,000. when i hit a rough place in the road or a bridge joint the steering will start shaking terribly. the only way to stop it is to come to almost a complete stop. this almost killed me saturday, october 12, 2019. i hit a bridge joint going 58 mph in a 70 mph zone. the vehicle starting shaking so bad i could barely hold it in the lane. i was in the middle lane between two semis with another semi close behind me. i had to slow down so fast the semi behind me locked his trailer brakes and almost hit me. they blocked traffic on the interstate so i could get to the shoulder of the road. this happened 4 times on 10/12/19 and 6 times on 10/13/19 and numerous times before and after those dates. the truck is now in the dealership service department to have the same issue fixed again.

I have had a very dangerous vibration that occurs in the front end of a vehicle. when my 2019 f250 has experiences death wobble, the entire steering system rapidly turns back and forth, making controlling the vehicle very hard. it normally accuses at speeds above 45 mph to 80 mph. the truck now has 12,000 miles on it and it started at around 9,000 miles.

Tl* the contact owns a 2019 ford f-250. while driving approximately 60 mph over a small uneven portion of road, the front end of the vehicle shook violently. the steering wheel also shook violently and was difficult to maneuver. the contact had to slowly apply the brakes and decelerate to 35 mph for the shaking to stop. the contact called brighton ford (190 w bromley ln, brighton, co 80601, 303-800-3235) for an appointment; however, the vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not notified. the approximate failure mileage was 5,800.

When driveing down the highway at highway speeds my 2019 f250 goes into a violent shaking. steering wheel shakes uncontrollably it hard to keep control over the truck and not wreck. i have had it in to get fixed 3 times ford turned me down by saying they did not have parts to fix it . finally after months of setting i got it in and fixed. 2000 miles later it started the death wobble again at highway speeds. ford told me there is nothing they can do.

Experienced severe vibration and uncontrollable shaking in the front end. "death wobble". was traveling at highway speed of 75 mph when the incident occurred. the front end started shaking uncontrollably and continued until i brought the vehicle to a complete stop on the side of the highway..

Truck began to shake violently/uncontrollably after hitting a bump on the road at 65 mph. i had to slow down to 35 mph before the shaking would stop.

Uncontrollalbe wobble at high speeds when hitting bumps on overpasses,or very rough spots in the roadway, or bridge crossings. this has occured to me four times at different locations, & at speeds ranging from 60mph - 80mph. each time was a very hair raising situation to say the least. also each time while trying to get the vehicle under control you had to slow down as soon as possible to get it to stop the severe wobble, & when i say severe wobble it felt like the front tires were going to come out from underneath the truck. not only does this put me in danger , but it puts everyone else in danger that is around me at the time this occurs. i live in an area that in the winter time we can see a lot of slick roadways, & i don't know how i'm going to be able to control this if it happens to me in these conditions. i purchased this vehicle under good faith from the dealership to be a sound vehicle, how can i even put my family or friends in it when i know it might get them harmed or even killed if this occurs.

While driving highway speeds on a paved surface, vehicle shakes violently after hitting a bump. the vehicle goes into what is known as a "death wobble" and requires the vehicle to quickly slow down in order to regain control of the vehicle. after some research, this is a systemic problem that has not been addressed since the first reports of this violent and potentially deadly shaking since 2005. this issue causes the unwanted use of the vehicle and safety is jeopardized. if it is possible to return the vehicle, please provide information.

Tl* the contact owns a 2019 ford f-250. the contact stated that while the vehicle was driven at highway speeds, the vehicle went over a bump on the roadway and the steering wheel started to shake violently and uncontrollably. the vehicle was taken to lamarque ford located at 3101 williams boulevard, kenner, la 70065, (504)-443-2500 for inspection. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was contacted and informed of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 41,000.

When traveling at highway speeds straight or in a bend, and a bump is hit the truck and steering wheel will violently shake. the truck will continue this death wobble until i slow down below 35mph

21,997 miles, driving on highway at 62 mph. hit a bump and experienced death wobble. slowed to 20 mph before truck drove out of it. previously owned a 2017 350 that did the same thing at 20k miles. ford bought it back. trusted that i would not have the problem again, so bought this 2019. this is dangerous and frustrating. i can't believe the nhtsa hasn't required ford to fix this problem.

Steering has been slightly shaky over bumps at normal highway speed. recently truck has began death wobble (steering oscillation) when hitting potholes, bridge joints, and road construction transitions.today in traffic at 50-55 mph, it was severe enough that it almost caused an accident. high traffic area and braking was slow due to traction loss during oscillation.

Tl* the contact owns a 2019 ford f-250. while traveling 80 mph on an overpass of a highway the vehicle suddenly started shaking and experienced the "death wobble". the vehicle shook violently for about a quarter of a mile while the contact struggled to maintain control of the vehicle. the contact tried shifting into neutral and braking to slow down. the contact was finally able to pull off the road to the shoulder. the vehicle did not stop shaking until it came to a complete stop. corwin ford nampa (5707 e gate blvd, nampa, id 83687, (208) 475-1110) stated that the contact should be able to drive over to the dealer. the contact refused to drive the vehicle and had it towed to the dealer using the ford roadside assistance program. the manufacturer had not been contacted. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the failure mileage was 20,500. *dt the consumer stated the dealer replaced the steering dampener and the problem happened a 2nd time. *tr

Death wobble at 70 mph. vehicle has 11,00 miles on it. extreme shaking after hitting rough patch on freeway. regained control after slowing down to 45 mph. happened 2 times on one trip.

My 2019 f250 lariat has 24300 miles on it. i have been experiencing very loose steering which i thought might be standard on a f250 since this is my first. about two weeks ago i hit a small rough area on highway and the front end began to violently shake forcing be to slow to about 20mph to make it stop. after researching it sounds like this problem is very common on ford f-250s and ford has ignored even with the numerous accounts on the internet. this is dangerous as i was in traffic at about 70mph and slowing to 20mph put me in grave risk of an accident not to mention worrying that the front end was about to self distruct. hopefully with all the complaints about this 'death wobble' on the internet will force you and ford to do your job and recall the vehicles. i am doing my part in telling everyone i can about the dangers of this vehicle.

Death wobble! i purchased the vehicle brand new in september of 2018. around 20,000 miles i started experience a violent shaking of the steering wheel after you would hit a normal bump in the road, which causes you to lose control of the vehicle. the issue would occur on the highway and on city streets. this condition is widely known as the death wobble. it was repaired at 20,586 miles, at which time, they said they added a caster adjustment and replaced all the joints that could have been loosened by the death wobble. they said that now that everything was tight and the caster was fixed, the issue would not return. the issue returned a few thousand miles later at 24,929. this time when i took it in for the "oscillating steering wheel issue" (because ford won't allow them to say or write death wobble) all they did was replace the steering stabilizer. other f-250 owners that i know have experienced the same issue and it is a widespread issue. now that i'm on my third steering stabilizer, i feel the vehicle is hazardous. ford needs to be held accountable for an issue they've known of for far too long.

On9/8 /20 i was driving on the expressway at 78 mph i hit a bump in the road and almost control of the truck due to a heavy vibration in the front end of the truck(wobbly). this will be the second time to the dealership for this problem. the first time i was told the shake was normal. now it is so bad can't control it when it starts. i feel this truck is unsafe and need help to correct it by ford.

The vehicle violently shimmy's and shakes and makes my hands leave the steering wheel while driving at freeway speeds and going over road bumps, bridge transitions, road deformities. the defect leads to difficult steering and intense shaking even when drivers are driving in normal conditions. this is triggered when the vehicle is traveling at speeds above 50 miles per hour and one of the tires hits a groove or bump in the road, this causes a violent shaking of the vehicle, which can only be controlled by a sudden reduction of speed, which almost caused a several car pile-up on the freeway by me reducing speeds from 70 mph to under 30 mph in the fast lane and not being able to get to a safe area. this has happened in the past but now it happened 4 times in less than 50 miles. my wife refuses t drive the vehicle.

Tl* the contact owns a 2019 ford f-250. while driving 50 mph over a pothole, the front end of the vehicle shook violently and experienced the "death wobble". the contact called town east ford (18411 lyndon b johnson fwy, mesquite, tx 75150, (972) 584-9140) and was informed that the shocks, suspension, springs, tie rod, an alignment, and tires were needed. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not contacted. the failure mileage was 40,000.

When braking at 60+mph results in extreme front end wobble. this has occurred every time we drive at 60+mph and brake. so multiple times. *bf manufacture was contacted but the parts were not available.*jb

Experienced the first 'death wobble' in my f-250 with 18,000 miles while driving 70 mph down the freeway and ran over a bridge transition while making a slight turn to the left. vibration continued until i slowed down to about 55mph. took to dealership and they said everything was good. happened again within 500 miles, this time driving straight down the freeway with cruise set at 75mph and hit a few small bumps in road. extreme vibration felt in steering wheel until i slowed down to about 30mph. took it back to dealership and they said the front tires failed their 'high road force test.' they replaced the two front tires. i'm afraid that was not the problem and it will happen again with possible deadly repercussions. how can two front tires that won't balance cause a severe lateral vibration in the steering system?

Our company vehicle (with 43k miles on it) steering wheel shakes and entire truck wobbles on the freeway. it is referred to online as the ford death wobble. if ford does not take responsibility as they should we need to know what needs to be done to fix this common ford issue. this began happening in late august and has happened several times since.

After 20,000 miles my truck started intermittently wobbling. it is termed "death wobble." usually only happens at higher speeds (70 or better) and after hitting a "rough patch" in the road or bridge joints.the steering wheel shakes from side to side and the whole truck wobbles violently. after slowing down and hanging on for 30 seconds or so it stops and is then fine again.

Have noticed my truck has been driving different, the steering has been feeling off. well today i was going down interstate i-4 and went over a bump and my truck started shaking so violently that i thought i was going to crash into a wall. it did not do it once it did it 3 times. i could not control the truck. it was the scariest thing. so unsafe
