#1: 2019 ford f250 truck randonly loses control of stealing and goes out of control at speeds above 45. this occurs when slightly turning truck or if hitting a bump in the road surface. #2 lack of power: dealer told me after 3 attempts to solve lack of power problem that egr value needs replaced. this was after they reprogrammed the trucks computer. part has been on back order since 9/14/19 (over 47days with no eta on repair part). truck is out of service at this time.
Death wobble when driving down the road. this vehicle when entering onto the interstate and driving over an expansion joint while merging into traffic at 75-80mph (speed limit on interstate was 80mph), the vehicle started to shake violantly in the front steering wheel, almost like a tire came off. i had a vehicle in the passing lane beside me with a horse trailer on and it was bad enough he slowed down and pulled away from us as i did everything i could to slow it down and get it off to the side of the road, until it hit about 20 or 25mph and stopped shaking. i own jk jeeps, so i know what the jeep death wobble feels like as i have had to repair it on my lifted jeeps, but this is a 2019 f250 with less than 45,000 miles on it and well, this should not be happening. this is extremely dangerous as i live in wyoming & travel with this truck as a work vehicle and travel in the pacific nw, and what would have happened if it would have been in winter driving condition and snow and ice on the road. it would have been all over! when i contacted dealer service department they said to bring it in, but doubted they had any options as it is a known problem. kind of concerning!
Starting at about 15000 miles, the death wobble started. when going anywhere above 55 mph, then going over semi-rough road or hitting a bump or expansion joint on the freeway, it goes into this death wobble. the steering wheel rotates back and forth rapidly and the whole truck shakes dramatically. when slowing down to about 20-30 mph, it stops. speed back up again and it starts again. it is very dangerous. i have talked to the dealer multiple times. they have no parts to fix it. supposedly it is the steering stabilizer that is failing. i have a case with ford customer care who have also been communicating with the dealer i bought it at. no resolutions as of yet. it continually death wobbles today. i can't seem to get anywhere on getting it fixed by ford under the warranty.
Travelling at 65 miles per hour on california state highway 395, my truck passed over a bridge with rough road on the other side when the steering wheel and front tires started to vibrate or wobble out of control. the wobbling resulted in a loss of steering control and did not stop until speed was reduced below 45 mph. vehicle is a 2019 ford f250 sd 4x4.
Experiencing jumpy steering, especially on uneven or rough roads. went into a full and dangerous death wobble situation twice now. been this way since new. currently have 10,000 miles. been back to sewer twice now and they are denying the issue.
While driving around a slow radius in the highway at about 50mph i hit a rough spot in the road that caused violent shaking of the steering wheel, which most refer to as "death woble". this caused the front end to loose traction and scoot across the road. to overcome it i had to significantly slow down my rate of speed. my currently has 2857 miles on it. this has happened to lesser amounts previously.
Truck has the death wobble goes into a violent shake very randomly with no warning have to apply heavy brakes to regain control. steering wheel shakes very bad and the whole front end feels like it's going to come apart. truck is very dangerous to drive.
Mid to high speeds if i hit any sort of bump or any sort of hole in the road the front end starts to vibrate severely and steering wheel vibrates and shakes and i have to immediately decelerate. it is exactly what i see other ford users describing online as the death wobble.
I have had the death wobble since day 1. have been to the dealer 3 times yet to be fixed. if i drive at a speed higher then 40 mph and hit a bump, pothole, or bridge transition, the truck suddenly vibrates and shakes violently and causes me to skip into oncoming traffic and other lanes
F250, 6.7l diesel, 4wd, crew cab, 25,000 miles. vehicle control lost when traversing expansion joints (especially at bridge/road interface) at highway speeds (~70mph). the steering wheel wobbles erratically and the truck uncontrollably jumps laterally and at a slight angle, up to the width of an entire lane. fortunately, there has been no vehicle (or structure) adjacent to the truck; i would have hit it! in all cases the vehicle was lightly loaded with approximately 200-400 lbs of pax/gear. all equipment is 'factory' and unmodified. all maintenance has been performed by ford dealers (only fluid/filter changes and tire rotation thusfar).
Tl* the contact owns a 2019 ford f-250. while driving 70 mph, the steering wheel shook violently without warning. the contact would have to release the accelerator pedal in order for the steering wheel to stop shaking. the vehicle was taken to cook ford (2600 palmer hwy, texas city, tx 77590, (409)-948-2541) where it was diagnosed that the vehicle bump steered, which occurred at high speeds over a bump. the vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. the manufacturer was made ware of the failure and offered the contact an extended warranty for seven years. the failure mileage was 100,697. *js
