Problems with 2013 Ford F-150 POWER TRAIN

On average, the 2013 Ford F-150 starts to “feel” problems with the POWER TRAIN and its various aspects after 77 832 miles.

Recently reported POWER TRAIN problems on 2013 Ford F-150

On 4 different occasions while in reverse truck immediately stopped as if i had backed into an object parking lot. two times while driving aprroximately 45 to 50 mph my vehicle immediately increased rpms, again it felt as if someone rear ended me. most recent vehicle would not shift. manual shift option worked. restarted motor 4 times hoping to resolve the issue. vehicle never shifted out of 5th. as traveling, speedometer stopped working, airbag light came on, odometer display went to dashes, traction control stopped working, wrench light came on, display for gears was either 5th or 3rd depending on speed. at about 55 mph the vehicle performed a hard jerk, high rpms, almost bringing me to a complete stop in heavy traffic highway. again as if someone rear ended me. finally limped home. now i'm afraid to drive the vehicle. my 5 year warranty expired 10-23-2018. contacted ford dealer not in recall and warranty out so it's money out of my pocket. this is so disheartening to know it's a factory default yet ford will not honor the repairs.

The frightening issue i experienced on january 7, 2019 is identical to the reports i have since read regarding this vehicle and the frequent issues that led to the recall for 2010-2012 ford f-150's for unexpected transmission downshifts [nhtsa recall no. / mfr recall no. : 16v-248 / 16s19]. while driving 65-70 mph on the interstate, speedometer suddenly and rapidly fluctuated between 40 and 70, then transmission abruptly dropped from 6th/5th gear to 1st gear. as a result, my wheels locked and caused the vehicle to skid into the lane to my right, forcing other cars to swerve out of my way to avoid a high speed collision. it happened so fast, and without warning, that it was difficult to understand what was actually occurring. once stopped (in the middle of the interstate), i drove to the median, turned the engine off, sat for a few minutes to gather my thoughts, restarted the vehicle and drove it slowly to my ford dealership (not on the highway). after inspecting my truck, the ford dealership verified the issue and stated the following (written report attached): ran koec got code p0720 oss sensor circuit fault, ran pinpoint tests, found open in oss sensor which is part of the molded lead frame attached to the valve body, removed the valve body, dissasembled, cleaned and inspected the value body, all valves and bores are ok, reassembled valve body with new molded lead frame assembly and new revised separator plate gasket, installed new clutch feed tube seals and seal between valve body and fluid pump, installed new fluid filter and pan gasket, filled transmission with new fluid reprogrammed pcm and cleared dtcs, verified repairs. despite parallels to the previous recall issue, ford informed me it is not covered (there is nothing i could have done to prevent it) and the total cost to me was $1,418.83. please expand the recall - it will save lives.

Delayed shifts, loss of power, speedometer not working, engine wrench illuminated, po 720/722 lead frame replaced very scary losing power at high speeds and revs in red line

My vehicle was down shifting when i was in 5 and 6 gear. i took it to a local dealership (which took 3 months). they said that there was something wrong with my truck but didn't know how to fix it. i took it to another dealership, and they found a recall notice. they try to fix the issue with reprograming. however, it never corrected the issues. i was told by the dealership that ford had to figure out how to fix the problem. i now avoid going over any big hills, bridges and highways to prevent my vehicle from downshifting. in this whole process my vehicle hasn't been recording the correct mileage and now i have higher miles then i should. i bought my vehicle a little more then a year ago and nearly has 30,000 miles on it. i only drive to and from work a total of 12 miles a day for 5 days. this error in programing i feel has cause other damage to my vehicle besides the downshifting and adding extra miles. if ford could have corrected this problem in timely manner it could have save the truck, but due the dealerships having no clue how to fix it. my truck is nice paper weight.

Issues with the transmission that was diagnosed to be with the lead frame, similar to those described with the 2011-2012 recall. i had random issues where it would slip from 2nd to 5th starting from a stop. then i had it suddenly downshift from 4th to 1st when going about 50mph, enough to chirp the tires.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford f-150. while driving at an unknown speed, the vehicle stalled and failed to accelerate. the vehicle was taken to steven's ford (located at 507 ny-112, east patchogue, ny 11772, (631) 475-1133) where it was determined that the vin was included in nhtsa campaign number: 19v075000 (power train). the manufacturer was not notified. the part was not available for the recall repair. the failure mileage was 68,000. parts distribution disconnect.

Tranmission will start shifting between 2nd and 5th gear while drive at any speed causing the tires to lock up and chirp. other times the transmission will not shift out of 1st gear. other times while driving 60mph+ the speedo needle will go to 0mph and transmission is unresponsive. in all cases the vehicle must be pulled over, tuned off and restarted to correct he issue. it is a safety concern when there is no safe area to pull off of the road. this has been an on going issue for a few months. suspected lead frame failure.

Traveling at various speeds (30-70 mph), transmission shifts from upper gears (3rd-6th) immediately down to 1st gear, failing to downshift through the gears in between. wrench icon appears on display. display also shows dashes instead of numbers and the speedometer drops to zero although still moving forward. rear tires break traction. crash potential is high due to loss of control of vehicle, especially on wet roads. this has been occurring over the last several months. at first it just seemed like a random hard shift (2nd to 1st when accelerating) perhaps once a month - easily forgettable. in the last two weeks however, it's happened 4 times at speeds over 30 mph and once at 70 on an interstate highway. the truck is too dangerous to operate and is will be sidelined until repaired. scan tool showed p0722 (output shaft speed sensor). the only fix is to replace the leadframe connector (p/n: al3z-7g276-d) in the transmission. this applies to the 6r80 transmission. signs/symptoms are identical to the 2016 recall of 2011-2012 f-150's. it seems ford extended the free replacement warranty for 10 years/150,000 miles for effected vehicles. unfortunately, i've just passed the 150k mark, so if the recall is expanded, i'm already outside the mileage limit, so i'll be stuck with the bill.

Ford is not coming out with new software for this recall. it was supposed to be completed in 2019

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford f-150. the contact stated that the vehicle was taken to purvis ford lincoln (3660 jefferson davis hwy, fredericksburg, va 22408, (540) 898-3000) to be repaired per nhtsa campaign number: 19v075000 (power train). the repair failed to remedy the vehicle. while driving 45 mph, the accelerator pedal was depressed, but the vehicle did not respond. in addition, the power train fault and air bag warning indicators illuminated. the contact shifted into second gear and the vehicle was able to move onto the shoulder of the road. the vehicle was restarted, but the failure recurred. the same dealer was contacted and informed the contact to drive the vehicle for 500 to 1000 miles and the vehicle would reprogram itself. the vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic for diagnostic testing or repairs. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and provided a case number. the failure mileage was 94,000.

Speedometer suddenly goes to 0 mph, dash information like mpg and mileage all read ------, only instrument working is the tachometer...additionally when the problem first starts you see the air bag warning illuminate, but a minute later the service wrench appears on screen. once the problem happens the truck has trouble taking off, very slow to get going, it's in a higher gear and not be returning to 1st gear. if i pull off the road and turn the truck off and back on again 98% of the time the truck will run fine, a few times i had to cycle on and off twice. problems usually reoccurs often. i had a ford dealer look at the problem...they said the problem is caused by a faulty molded leadframe inside the transmission. $1100. repair cost. i think this should be covered by warranty---hard to believe i only got 120k out of a transmission, was expecting 300k. there is even a bulletin from ford, tsb 13-6-8. but they still would not fix under warranty!

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford f-150. while driving and accelerating from a stop, the transmission malfunctioned and hesitated to shift into gear. there was also a shifting delay. the vehicle was taken to lou fusz ford (2 caprice dr, chesterfield, mo), but the failure could not be diagnosed. the contact also indicated that the fuel filler neck was faulty and caused fuel to spill out when refueling. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 60,000. the vin was unknown.

Sudden downshift of automatic transmission to first gear at 55 mph *tt consumer stated molded lead frame was replaced and repaired. *jb

Started on the interstate and got up to about 65 mph and truck shifted to 1st gear and began to skid and hop and was all over the road, (luckily no traffic was close to me) got control of the truck and came to a stop. no check engine lights or anything out of the ordinary on dash panel. continued on my way at a very slow speed until i got to an exit to turn around and get back home. when getting back home again no check engine lights

Several issues spanning 5 months and becoming more frequent: 1. randomly from a stop f-150 will not shift out of 1st gear for 5+ seconds while revving rpm at 5,000+. 2. the wrench warning light indicator will display on dash pane and speedometer will read 0 mph while i am driving speeds of 45 mph. tachometer will work as normal. to correct i have to pull over and restart my vehicle. 3. latest scenario 12/30/18 while highway driving my f-150 will hard downshift to a low gear and toggle between high and low gears causing violent jerking experiences producing very dangerous traffic scenarios.

When accelerating to get on the interstate the transmission started to shift up and down at random, so i slowed to almost a stop and all shifts were fine after that

2 instances occurred: 1/ the vehicle was in motion on a regular street road. speed was around 30 mph. the gear suddenly shifted to first gear and felt like the vehicle 'looked up'. it was a brutal stop. after stopping, the vehicle restarted and drove normally 2/ few weeks later, but with very low mileage completed since the first event, the car gears shifted from 2nd to 5th. the vehicle just turned, entering a car park at low speed. after stopping completely the vehicle, it restated normally. the issue however repeated few minutes later, gears again shifting from 2 to 5.

Vehicle downshifted from 6th gear to 3rd gear at 55 mph. after this happened, the vehicle would not shift out of 3rd gear. shut off vehicle and let sit for 2 hours and then drove home, no issue. called dealership to report issue. on the way to the dealership, vehicle downshifted from 5th gear to 2nd gear, locking up rear wheels. vehicle did this 3 more times during the trip to the dealership. vehicle is at dealership now.

Two problems: i) from a stop, such as following traffic control device instruction like at a traffic light, yield (before merging onto a highway), stop sign, parking spot, etc, the truck attempts to start moving forward in 5th gear. the truck does not move forward unless shifted to neutral or park and then back into drive. truck will not accelerate from a stopped position in 5th gear. ii) more concerning is that the truck decides to downshift inappropriately (e.g. it should upshift or stay in gear, but downshifts erratically calling). this leads to stopping short and causes the truck to buck. it results in almost total loss of control of the vehicle and presents a horrible risk to driver, passengers, and others on the road. had to pull off side of road over a curb causing property damage and almost a heart attack! i have 68,000 miles on a truck that should last for at least double that. the truck has been babied and well-maintained since it was purchased. this is sad that ford won't accept responsibility for using a faulty transmission with known issues. ref: molded leadframe issue including tsb 13-6-8

Was traveling at 60 mph and transmission down shifted to 3rd gear and rear wheels locked up.

While at hwy speed, automatic transmission went from 6th gear to 1st gear. while stationary going to accelerate, vehicle started in 4th. vehicle is 2013 ford f-150. 2011 and 2012 ford f-150 pickup trucks were recalled for same issue. dealership"... found fault with output shaft speed sensor signal. causing transmission to into limp mode due not reading the correct speed. to correct issue removed transmission fluid pan and removed main control valve body and replaced molded lead frame containing speed sensor. also set pcm/tcm to latest calibration and cleared dtc's post road test."

Transmission shifts erratically from 1st to 5th around 5 -10 mph on highway and sometimes sticks in 1st gear or starts out in 5th gear when shifting to drive. have to come to complete stop and shift to neutral or reverse in order to reset gear.

Sudden downshift into low gear, feels like first gear. rear wheels lock and slide. speedometer displays 0, and odometer displays 0, digital gauges in the center go blank. this is followed with a loss of power. coasting to a safe place, turn off the ignition, restart and have gauges back, driving with normal shift points. this has occurred 5 times in the past 14 days. and this truck is not a daily driver, so this is occurring each time the vehicle is operated. we only use this truck for driving in the city, we are terrified of driving on any interstate or highway or at any speed above 40 miles per hour due to the locking up of the rear wheels. there is no photo documentation due to the rapid onset of the downshift. i fear this vehicle will be involved in a crash.

While driving down the interstate our truck shut down stopped working. we coasted to the side of the interstate and re-started the vehicle. no warning lights, nothing the vehicle engine shut off. there was a wrench that appeared. we took the vehicle to a repair shop to determine what the code of issue indicated an issue. no code was detected. we were told that perhaps it was bad fuel. we purchased a fuel cleaner. again, we traveled down the interstate and again the vehicle shut down without warning. we took it to the shop to find out that the bracket holding the entire drive shaft was broken. we replaced the part. still the vehicle downshifted for no reason. we again took it to a repair shop and finally a code appeared. the code indicated that the transmission control switch was in error. this is a very dangerous issue. we called ford motor company and there is no recall at this time. a very dangerous sit-in 2, 1. the drive shaft could have seized the rear wheels, thereby causing an accident. 2. the transmission control switch indicated that the engine shuts down with no warning. please be aware that both of these situations could have caused a fatal accident, yet ford motor company refuses to provide assistance, send out a warning to others that may be effected. this is irresponsible on the ford motor company to provide no indication or warning to people that own these vehicles. 2011 and 2012 have been recalled. please have your vehicles checked for both issues. the code that finally resulted in our further insistence p.1780-00 for your and any passengers safety. please have your vehicle inspected.

Truck erratically shifted to first gear while traveling at 55mph causing rear wheels to lock up as if i slammed on my brakes. there is a large wrench icon on the display which causes the speedometer to read 0 mph while the vehicle is in motion and odometer reading is dashes "-------.--" truck will also get stuck in first gear while accelerating from a stop which nearly caused me to be involved in an accident because i could not accelerate as i was expecting to. truck will also get stuck in fifth gear while at a stop. dashes and wrench clear when truck is shut down and restarted. erratic behavior is completely random and makes me feel completely unsafe driving my vehicle.

In feb 2018 truck began random hard shift and loss of power when taking off from a light, no check engine light. in august 2018 at 70 mph, had a momentary lock up of rear wheel, causing the wheels to chirp on the road and release, slowed to a stop, placed in nuetral no check engine light all seemed normal. accelerated to 65 mph at steady speed observed speedometer indication momentarily drop to 50 mph and back to 60 mph, shortly after the fuel economy on the computer average drop from 18.5 mpg to 17.5 mpg. no check engine light. in december 2018 after stopping in idle, moved truck from park to drive, felt no power to move observed i was in 5th gear. placed in park, shut off and restarted vehicle with no issues, no check engine light. spoke to dealer and they stated that with no check engine light or code they would have to drive until issue was repeated. i have ordered and will replace the lead frame assembly as that appears to be the most probable cause, and clean and inspect all connections to transmission. this was the same issue the recall on 2012 covered on the same transmission, ford did not include 2013 in this recall.

Put the ford f150 into gear, would not shift up from 1st gear. same issue we have been having and have taken to the dealership and they cannot find any problems with the transmission. had to turn off truck and restart

At least once a week the transmission behaves erratically. when acceleration from a stop all power is lost. a big wrench light comes on on the dashboard. i am forced to coast or limp out of traffic. usually it will stop if i shut the truck off and restart it. another problem i have experience is sudden downshifting into first gear while traveling at speeds in excess of 40 mph. again i need to pull over and shut the truck off and restart it to correct the problem. another powertrain issue i have experienced, however not as dangerous. is all of a sudden all the gages will go blank. no speedometer, tachometer, or odometer. sometimes i'll see the big yellow wrench. again, to fix this i need to shut the truck off and restart it. i have a 2013 ford f-150 xlt with 3.5 ecoboost approxmittly 80,000 miles. i experience at least one of these three problems at least once a week and seems to be getting worse.

My 2013 ford f-150 ecoboost gets stuck in 1st gear sometimes while trying to move from a stop. it has also skipped 1st and 2nd gear and gotten stuck in 3rd gear and barely able to move more than 5 mph. it has happened from a dead stop as well as while driving 40 plus miles per hour. typically pulling over and turning the truck off and back on fixes it. i am afraid it will happen again and cause an accident.

Truck suddenly drops from 6th gear to 1 st gear and barks the rear tires while traveling at 60mph also the instrument panel goes completely out except for the rpm gauge it also down shifts from 6th to 5th and then will not upshift and only down shifts to 3rd gear also it has stuck in 1st gear when taking iff from a red light. it has done everything while traveling down the highway except for the 1st gear issue that happened from a stoped position when i started to take off. problem does happen all the time and when you pull over and place the vehicle in park and turn the engine off and restart the engine the problem goes away and then it starts it again took the truck to local dealership and was told it would cost 985.00 to fix this problem when it is the same problem that was recalled on the previous years truck same problem on the 2011 and 2012 also have read the problem is still accouring on the 2014 models as well

While driving the vehicle it will downshift from higher gears and then no longer shifts or registers speed - wrench light will illuminate on dash. the speedometer will also drop down to zero and no longer register any speed even though the truck is moving. the digital display will display dashes and the air bag light indicator will stay lite. when you unbuckle the seat belt the indicator light will not illuminate. took it in to have battery tested and had 100% charge but reading indicated a bad battery so had it replaced but issue still presented itself an hour later. issue occurs intermittently and without warning. took it to mechanic and they had it for two days and unable to replicate situation. also took it to dealer and was told they couldn't do anything if the issue never presented itself while they had the truck. asked if issue was ever presented at that facility or any known issues and was told no. issue has occurred on four separate occasions over the last 20 days.

My automatic transmission on my truck started not wanting to shift into the proper gear. it went from shifting into a higher gear as i was trying to merge into traffic, which caused me to lose pretty much all power. this could have cause a wreck in busy traffic. the most worrisome problem was that it started shifting into 1st gear when driving in normal traffic. it happened 3 times at speeds of 30 mph, causing the back tires to lock and a loss of all power. it happened a final timewhen i was traveling at 55 mph. it went from 5th gear to 1st causing my tires to lock again and almost causing the person traveling behind me to wreck into me. it was very scary. even though i was on a curvy road i was able to maintain control, but i had lost all power and the rpms on the engine went extremely high. as soon as i could i took it to the dealership and they replaced a part in the transmission as well as reset the computer. this issue is very scary and could have caused a serious wreck at the speed i was traveling at, not to mention if it was a higher rate of speed. in researching this online, i found many similar issues affecing ford trucks

When putting the truck in drive from a parked position or an idling position the transmission hard shifts to 2nd gear and then hard to 1st and then all the way to 5th. truck has 69,750 miles. has happened on two occasions. fortunately not while on the highway. have read that this is a common problem. this time is will only go from 1st to 2nd and has finally come up with the wrench service light. ford needs to fix this known problem before someone seriously gets injured or worse.

Vehicle shifts into 1 gear while driving at high speeds. vehicle will also remain in high gear after coming to a stop, no codes show. problem is intermittent.

The truck was shifting between 5th and 6th gear sporadically while driving 65 miles per hour on the freeway. then sudden while driving at that same speed it shifted to 1st or 2nd gear locking up the tires. this caused other vehicles to have to slam on their brakes almost causing a pile up. the truck suddenly shifted back to 6th gear and began shifting back and forth again between 5th and 6th gear until i could exit the freeway. upon exit the vehicle shifted from 4th or 5th gear to 1st gear when exiting locking up the tires again.

2013 f150 downshifted from 6th gear to 1st gear while traveling approximately 50 mph. this resulted in the tires locking up as if i had slammed on the brakes. it now continues to shift erratically from 1st to 6th to 3rd. it also gets stuck in 1st gear and then will randomly shift normally and then downshift back to first gear. this has been happening frequently for some time with hard shifting but this is the first time it has dropped from 6th gear to first gear. this is definitely a safety issue and i am finding it difficult to have any nearby ford dealerships take a look at it within the next two weeks.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford f-150. while operating the vehicle, the check engine indicator illuminated and the transmission erroneously downshifted into third gear, which caused the speed to decrease. after the failure occurred, the transmission only shifted into fifth gear and the vehicle would only accelerate from a standing start in third gear. as a result, the vehicle would stall and the speedometer would not operate. after restarting the engine, the vehicle operated normally. bubba ousalet ford lincoln (246 n. broadway st, jennings, la) was notified of the failure. the manufacturer was not notified. the failure mileage was 87,000. *tt consumer stated lead frame was replaced it was recalled in 2011,2012, 2013.*jb

Traveling at 70 mph on the highway the transmission shifted into 1st gear causing the rear tires to skid and the rear of the vehicle to loose traction. this lasted a few seconds before it shifted back into 6th gear and i was able to maintain control. slowed to stop at a red light and vehicle shifted into first gear at about 20 mph then jerked forward when coming to a complete stop. the next day while making a left turn on a city street the transmission shifted to neutral causing me to stall into approaching traffic. checking other complaints this appears to be an issue with the "lead frame module" with these transmissions. took the vehicle to the dealer who replaced the module but also had to replace the transmission valve body which was apparently damaged in the erratic shifting. i have had the vehicle for 5 years and 4 months, which is 4 months over the warranty date. the vehicle has only 50,000 miles on it which is 10,000 under the mileage warranty on the drivetrain. i had to pay a significant amount for the transmission repairs. this issue is a definite safety hazard which could cause loss of control of the vehicle.

An unexpected downshift from 5th gear to 1st gear causing the vehicle to slow down suddenly and without warning when driving at speeds between 45 and 65 mph on the highway. the rear tires lock up momentarily, causing skidding. the transmission shifts erratically and randomly through gears 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1st. the truck will go days without another incident, but then multiple times in one day. reprogramming of the computer module at the ford dealership did not resolve the problem.

On highway, speed(60 mph), gauges on dash began swinging wildly, transmission began shifting up and down rapidly and then down shifted to 1st gear at 60 mph. the rear tires started screaming and threw me sideways into the next lane and onto shoulder of road. i had been on highway for approx. 20 minutes before fault happened. i restarted and vehicle seemed to operate. i attempted to travel to ford dealer when after another 20 minutes fault resumed throwing truck off highway and luckily onto exit road. i again restarted truck and proceeded at 20 mph to nearby dealer. my ford dealer found intermittent loss of oss signal from the lead frame. exact problem and repair as in recall #16n02 but my truck was just out of recall range. i believe this safety recall should be extended to include 2013 trucks with the same unsafe condition. i had some drive train warranty left so repair cost me only $100.00 but recall would have extended my transmission warranty to 150,000 miles.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford f-150. while driving 60 mph, the vehicle decelerated to 30 mph without warning. the vehicle was taken to eide ford lincoln (800 e bismarck expy, bismarck, nd 58504, 701-222-3500) where it was diagnosed that the lead frame failed. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 82,190.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford f-150. while driving approximately 75 mph, the gear shifted from sixth to first gear without warning. the contact managed to pull the vehicle over to the side of the road and called capital ford of charlotte at 844-242-1515 (located at 5411 n tryon st, charlotte, nc 28213), but no one answered the phone. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the failure mileage was 167,119.

The transmission will down shift into a 1st or 2nd gear unexpectedly. this has happened several times while moving at 40 to 50 mph. also the transmission will up shift and downshift randomly causing the vehicle difficult to control. when this happens the speedometer will jump around and sometimes completely shut off. when the truck is turned of then turned on again the gauges will work again.

Transmission shifted to 5th gear while pulling into an intersection vehicle lost power in the intersection air bag light and wrench symbol came on the vehicle lost power lost all displays i was almost hit by another vehicle and could have been seriously injured .i understand that previous years were recalled because of this transmission problem but no recalls on the 2013 yet please issue a recall this is very dangerous i am afraid to drive this truck. thank you

This is the 3rd occurrence over the last month. driving on hwy 90 at 65 miles per hour the truck suddenly downshifted into 1st gear. the rear tires locked up and smoked as i was thrown forward against my seat belt. i narrowly kept control of the vehicle. i shifted the truck into neutral and coasted onto the shoulder. i turned the truck off and restarted the engine. the truck operated normally for about 50 miles. the sudden violent downshift is extremely dangerous and frightening. ford has recalled 2014 f150's with the same issue. why have they not recalled the 2013's? someone is going to get killed by this defect. this is a widely reported issue with the 2013 ford f150. do something.

While driving at highway speed the transmission abruptly down shifts to first gear. in the winter with snow/ice on the road this causes the rear wheels to lock-up . i do not want someone to run into the rear of my vehicle or loose control. the truck was assembled in sept of 2012. the engine is a 3.7 liter w/ 6 speed auto. 4 wheel drive. in june of 2018 (6/22/2018) i brought this truck to copper country ford, houghton mi. and had the service department "reflash" update the tcm ( transmission control module)

Jumps from high to low gear while truck is in motion when driving at low and high speeds on country, city and highway roads. has also occurred when stopped to make a turn into traffic.

My 2013 ford f-150 xlt with 71,000 miles is having transmission issues and problems with shifting and completely losing power while driving. this issue has started intermittantly about a month ago. while i'm driving, a giant wrench appears on the dashboard which is then followed by loss of power and acceleration. the vehicle is then stuck into a single gear and the speedometer and mileage computer go blank so i no longer know how fast i'm travelling. my vehicle issue seems very similar to the 2011-2012 ford f-150 transmission downshifting recall from below. 'federal safety regulators are investigating whether to reopen and expand a previous ford recall by more than a million vehicles for unexpected downshifting. the initial 2016 recall affected more than 153,000 ford f-150, ford expedition, lincoln navigator and ford mustang vehicles from the 2011-12 model years. a second recall would increase that number to an estimated 1,375,577 vehicles affected, and expand into the 2013 model year."

While driving 55 mph my truck has downshifted into first gear, locking up the rear tires. this has now happened on three separate days

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford f-150. while driving approximately 60 mph, the gear shifted from high to low gear without warning and the vehicle jerked. the vehicle was taken to planet ford hd truck shop (888-501-9013, located at 20332 holzwarth rd, spring, tx 77388) to be diagnosed, but the failure could not be duplicated. the failure recurred. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall. the contact was referred to the dealer. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was approximately 25,000.
