Problems with 2006 Dodge Charger FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE

On average, the 2006 Dodge Charger starts to “feel” problems with the FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE and its various aspects after 82 737 miles.

Recently reported FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE problems on 2006 Dodge Charger

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 dodge charger. while driving at an unknown speed, the vehicle stalled. the contact was able to restart the vehicle and continue driving. the vehicle was taken to the dealer (nissan bros nissan, 5750 mesmer ave, ste. a, culver city, ca 90230) where it was diagnosed that the vapor recovering system failed. the contact stated that the vehicle was repaired per an extended warranty. the manufacturer was not contacted. the vin and failure mileage were unknown. *tt *tr consumer stated upon refueling and pulling out of the gas station, consumer's car started to struggle with power, the power steering and power brakes seemed to be severly reduced, and then the engine shut down. happened second time. consumer googled and found "2006 dodge charger stalls after fueling" updated 9/4/18*jb

My 2006 dodge charger completely died on me while driving at 40 mph. luckily i was alone on a city road but lost all control and felt i was barley braking and steering was near impossible. i was able turn everything off in the car and restart but it happened 3 other times within 2 miles. at one point while turning left on a highway it died; i was almost to a point to hitting other cars turning left in same direction and others behind me. i was able to drive 4 miles today without incident however after researching this exact issue among other charger owners i searched for a recall and nothing has been said by dodge. this issue doesn't seem to be from personal actions but a flaw in a system on this make/model. it has happened to me twice before a few years ago however i read something about a gas cap and felt it was isolated. after last night and reading blogs today i see that this is a wide spread issue and not caused by not maintaining a vehicle or bad driving. this is an issue in design or manufacturing. had this happened in any other driving setting during rush hour someone could be seriously injured or killed. i notified dodge and reported the issue by they said i would not be contacted and to keep receipts if something was wrong in case they do recall something. why hasn't this been corrected after all these reports for the same issue to this many of the same vehicles? *tr

My 2006 dodge charger keep stalling while driving. i was sitting at a light getting to ready to turn and the car stopped in the middle of the turn. thankful it was a turn signal or i would have been hit. also the engine light come on and the car just stalls then - you can wait about 5 min. and it will start back up. upon doing my research i am unsure to why their has not been a recall. i was on the highway and it starts to stall then i hit the gas and it keeps going. *tr

My 2006 charger will stall and or jolt violently as soon as i leave the gas station, and it is only when i fill up my tank. after restarting the vehicle twice and driving a short while i do not have any problems, it only happens when i fill up my gas tank. i know that newer vehicle fuel tanks are designed not to be force filled due to the special evap system. i only fill the tank till the station pump nozzle clicks off, which is what i was told how to fill these newer vehicles. this problem has been going on for over several months, though i have not had any traffic accidents, i fear that this is an accident waiting to happen. *tr

After filling the gas tank up car stalls within minutes on busy highway interstate and it fluids out where you are stuck in traffic i've had plenty of mechanics to look at the far and they cant detect the problem i need some assistance with this issue are i'm gonna end up causing a bad wreck with the issue of my car please contact me [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

2006 dodge charger. consumer writes in regards to replacement parts not available to complete fuel tank and airbag recall notices. *smd the consumer stated after filling the vehicle with gas, the vehicle would then stall. for the next year, the vehicle stalled occasionally. in may of 2014, the consumer received a notice regarding an extended warranty on the fuel tank. the consumer attempted to get the vehicle repaired numerous times, only to be told the parts were not available for the fuel tank or the air bag. *jb....updated 09/08/15 *bf..updated 05/19/16 *bf updated 11/08/2017*cn

My 2006 dodge charger has began to stall after a gas fill-up. it is very scary because it does not matter how fast you are driving. i had it stall about 5 times after filling up today. one in which i was going 40 mph. the steering wheel locks up and it is very dangerous. i am very concerned for the safety if myself and family. *tr

After filling up at gas station, car stalls in traffic when fuel is sucked into vapor recovery system. dealer says fuel tank replacement is not covered by any recalls. *tr

Car stalls after filling gas tank, at speed or idling. no codes or other indications. *tr

After fueling car starts jerking a little, then lights go dim and car shuts off. this is the second time i have noticed it and i am not topping the fuel because somesaid not to. i was also going around a roundabout and car shut off. it has happend 4 times since i fueled today. *tr

Full tank fill for trip to florida from north carolina. car stalled within in few blocks from gas station. restart and stall several times. let idle for awhile and noticed rpm's going up and down at idle. finally got going and fueled with a full tank 2 times on way to florida, same problem each time. contacted dealership in deland florida and was told i had a faulty fuel float and would have to replace fuel tank or i could wait until i got back to north carolina. they said if i only filled to 3/4 it should be fine. i did that and got back to north carolina. took car to dealership in greensboro, north carolina. they were familiar with this problem. they did a diagnostic test by filling fuel tank and encountered the same problem. they contacted chrysler for warranty. chrysler denied it. i contacted chrysler and got a case number. i talked to several people and was told they would call me back. none of them called back, so i had to make calls. they denied for reasons: vin not covered, car built in wrong month, car has salvage title, not covered under x53 or chrysler service bulletin #14-002-14 issued in february 2014.. i asked for a letter of denial. they refused. said i could contact an attorney if i wanted a letter. the cost for this known problem will be $1,250.00. i have had dodge and chrysler vehicles sine 1969. not a way to treat a good customer. *tr

After filling up my gas tank and driving off the gas station lot onto a main road my car stalled and died almost causing the car behind me to run into the back of my car. my car continued to stall all the way home. it restarted after stalling but put me in a very dangerous position. i could not drive the car anywhere in fear that it would stall again. i had to pay to have it towed (money which i do not have) to a service station where they told me that there was a known issue of a fuel system problem. i called the car dealer and they did in fact acknowledge that there is a problem and the fuel tank will be replaced at no charge. i have now been waiting several months for a gas tank. the dealership has stated that they are not receiving any fuel tanks. i need my vehicle to get back and forth to school. i can not get a job because i have no transportation to and from. this is really put a hardship on me. i called another dealership only to find that they are having the same problem. why are there no tanks being sent to the dealerships to fix this problem? i can not drive a car that puts my life in danger as well as the lives of others. *tr

I filled my gas tank getting ready to go on a trip and vehicle started stalling out without warning ,engine would just shut down. i have been told that there is a known problem with the 2006 dodge chargers with the fuel tank. *tr

My car was using way too much gas compared to what it used to and was running poorly so i took it in for a tune up. the filters, plugs, fluids, etc. were done. about two weeks after the tune up i began to have trouble. at first i thought it was the shop that had done the tune up but after reading hundreds of letters from other people, i know now that it is the car. this is what happens: when i began to accelerate after stopping at stop sign, my car lost all power and died within two blocks of the stop sign. the car started up and seemed fine. approximately a week and a half later, again, i was accelerating from a stop sign and the car stalled about 4 blocks from the stop sign. this continued to happen intermittently until september15, 2014, when the car died when i was approaching the stop sign and had to be towed. i have 5 grandchildren that i transport daily and this car is just not safe to do so anymore. thank goodness i have not gone out of town with a car load of children and have this happen.

After fill up car stalled shortly after ,while in traffic, car started up and shut down immediately. i was able to make it home, but car kept turning on and shutting down at idle and low speed. *tr

Just an update since my first complaint in june 2014. the car continues to stall several times after every fill up. today, it died in the middle of an intersection twice (with oncoming traffic) and then died a third time when i was past the intersection but within the same block. i wish my husband had never purchased this car. *tr

I was stopped to make a left turn. i began making a left and the car stalled. an oncoming van nearly t'd my car at 40 mph. this was the third incident in the past month. this car should be recalled before chrysler/dodge faces a similar fate as gm. *tr

I was sitting at a stop light, the light turned green. i proceeded to go through the light and intersection (4-way very busy highway) and the car stalled locking up the steering wheel, lighting up the dash. i managed to maneuver just enough to get to the side of the road before someone rear ended me. this is not the first time this has happened but this was one of the times my child was with me during a very hectic day and it could have resulted in a major crash. something needs to be done about the fuel cutting off or whatever is causing the car to cut off after filling up the car, it happens every time we put gas in the car. *tr

In may 2014 i recieved a letter from chrysler in regards to the faulty fuel tank in my 2006 dodge charger rt. they wrote to let me know that they are aware of a faulty fuel shut-off float in my gas tank that will cause the vehicle to stall. i called to schedule the repair and was told that chrysler is only sending out one fuel tank per dealership per week and that i was 7th in line to have my work performed. so that meant that i would have to drive a vehicle that was continually cutting off for 2 months even before they would fix it. i called chrysler to inquire why it would take so long to fix a problem that they know is causing numerous vehicles to cut off and they said that the parts are on backorder. i indicated to them that i had come close to having numerous accidents because my vehicle was stalling in traffic and yet they didnt seem to care one iota. after waiting 2 months for my time in line to come around i called the dealership to see when the work would be able to be done and was told that i was next in line but the part was still on backorder and could not have my vehicle fixed yet. they could not give me an estimate as to when they would be able to get the parts in. i find it very hard to fathom that a major automaker such as chrysler/dodge, knowing about a problem with their vehicles that are causing them to shut off in traffic and are not expediting the process of having those vehicles fixed. i have been very lucky thus far by not having a very serious accident due to my car stalling but i fear that someone else may not be so lucky and that someone is going to be seriously hurt. there are numerous vehicles like mine on the road with the same problem and its a shame that someone has to risk serious injury due to chrysler's inability to do whats right. *tr

We purchased a 2006 dodge charger 3.5l from a local dealership with around 63,000 miles. they filled the tank up before we left. other than the customary lap around town with the "new" car, i didn't drive it for two days. i drove the car 70 miles to another town for an appointment with no issues. when i went to leave my appointment, i started the car and attempted to back out of my parking spot. the car died as soon as i placed it in reverse. i put the car back in park, restarted and tried to shift to reverse again. the car died again and the check engine light was on. i attempted the same process again and it died yet again. i thought of revving the engine while reversing to get the car to move, but i didn't do it because of safety issues. i was blindly backing into a street and didn't want to get involved in an accident. my brother happens to work in the same town i was in. he came to help. i stood in the street to block traffic. he revved up the engine (two footed the brake and gas) and managed to back it into the street. the check engine light was still on. i two footed the car the 70 miles back to the dealership i had purchased it from. the dealership i purchased the car from sent it to a dodge dealership. the dealership says that there is nothing wrong with my car and that they couldn't replicate the engine dying. they stated that i was driving with the parking/emergency brake on. i never use my parking brake (all my cars have been automatics). my parking brake was not on at any time. my brother stated the parking brake was not on. this is a major safety issue and i am not satisfied with how the dealership handled it. i could not drive my car out of a parking space. what if it had died in the road when i had to stop at lights or for other vehicles turning in front of me? i found similar complaints from other dodge owners online. see investigation pe 13-016. *tr

When entering an intersection and during a left turn, the engine failed rendering the power steering inoperable and reducing braking ability. even though the car was controllable although with significant increase in required force. i almost went off the road as a result of the partial loss of control but managed to recover. someone with less strength may not have been able to recover. in this case, non-recovery would have resulted in hitting an overpass. chrysler is aware of this defect but has not classified it as a recall. it is classified as an extended warranty and requires the dealer to order a fuel tank and replace the one in the vehicle. parts are now restricted and i was advised that they may not be available for months. this is not a convenience problem\, this is a safety issue that has the potential to cause major injury or death. *tr

When i fully fill and top off my gas tank the car stalls and sputters. i know i am not the only one having this problem as i have seen people complaining online. my car is a dodge charger rt 2006. this is unsafe and there should be an immediate recall the fix the vapor canister and the gas tank. it might be expensive but if your car is on the highway going 60 mph and power steering fails when you're driving it could be fatal. fix this immediately. *tr

My car started to stall after i filled up at the gas station. i pulled out of the gas station and as i was approaching a traffic light my car started jerking as if was going to shut off. *tr

After filling up with gas the engine started miss firing as soon as i left the forecourt, a few seconds later the car stalled in heavy traffic, it started again but continued stalling. as i tried to get out of the traffic it stalled again half way across a busy intersection and came very close to having an accident with oncoming traffic. eventually it began to run ok and i got home, when i looked online there is a large amount of complaints with this happening to many owners of 2006 chargers and all with the same story. this fault could result in a serious accident and i will speak with my nearest chrysler dealer. *tr

My car will stall out while driving or sitting. i have tried to research what the problem, others indicated a fuel purge valve. my cars runs fine other wise but this should not be happen. *tr

While stopped at a traffic light, after having just left a gas station and filling the gas tank, the vehicle stalled. this has happened numerous times now at slow speeds as well. does not occur every time, but does occur often and always within minutes of refueling. *tr

Right after leaving the gas station from filling up my cars' gas tank my engine stalled when i came to a stop on a very busy intersection. i was able to start it again but it turned off on me again, repeated the process twice until the light changed and i was able to make it home. drove around my neighborhood making multiple stops to see it if happened again in which the engine only turned off once more. *tr

My vehicle stalled several times after filling the tank. i then took it to my dealer to have it investigated. in reviewing the nhtsa website, i found that this has been already been investigated and chrysler agreed to extend the warranty on "certain" hemi vehicles with a 19 gallon fuel tank. investigation pe 13-016. upon sharing this information with my dealer (dodge of naperville), they indicated that my 2006 dodge charger with a hemi and 19 gallon tank was not covered under this recall and i would need to pay $1700 to have this repaired. they said if it was recalled at a later date, i could apply for reimbursement. *tr

The engine died just after fuel fill-up when i was leaving the lot and getting onto the street. while filling the tank, the pump stopped as if the tank was full, but when i got in the car after fill-up, the gas gauge read only 3/4 full. when the engine died, there was traffic behind me and traffic ahead. i could have been in an accident or caused one. i shifted to neutral, and coasted and re-started the car. this is completely unacceptable. it is dangerous for me, for my family, for my wife when she is driving, as well as the motorists around me. *tr

2006 dodge charger r/t third occurrence after filling car up it stalled and could not start on first attempt. each time filling up i drove maybe 100 yards and the car stalls with no warning. then getting on the highway with 200 miles to drive guessing if going to stall with a family of four in the car not good. i called the dealer they never heard of this problem and i should bring it in and it could be several different things with a diagnostic fee $145.00. i searched the internet and was astounded how many car owners with same problem. this is a very large safety issue and my dealer with my vin stated there are no recalls with your problem. there should not have to be fatalities to fix the problems dodge knows about !! they need to recall is justified. i just know the dealers won't fix it for free. frustrated dodge owner !! *tt

I feel that chrysler is not honoring the agreement of extending the warranty on the fuel tanks as stated. its been months and chrysler either isn't going to warranty the tanks or they are being very selective on which tanks they consider defective. my vin is not showing being covered by this warranty even though it meets all the qualifications. this is the message i received from the local dodge/chrysler dealership regarding my fuel tank issue on april 10, 2014: in checking on chrysler's website, there is no listed extended coverage regarding your fuel tank pertaining to your particular vehicle at this time. recall's are vin specific and after checking yours on chryslers website it does not show any extended lifetime coverage regarding your vehicle in particular. if you have any other questions or concerns regarding this matter please feel free to contact chrysler/dodge at 1-800-423-6343. my original complaint regarding the issue with my 2006 dodge charger was filed: date complaint filed: 01/07/2014 component(s): fuel/propulsion system date of incident: 11/28/2013 nhtsa id number: 10558790. *tr

While driving on freeway, car died. was able to start it back up again. gas tank only 1/8 full. got off freeway. car continued to just shut off while driving on the streets, leaving me stuck in the intersection several times. *tr

Vehicle is stalling after filling up with gas. occurs when idling (such as at a stoplight) or when decelerating at which it also loses the power steering. highly concerned this will occur in the middle of a busy intersection. can restart the car usually after two attempts. may go to the next light/stop and same incident will repeat itself. after driving the car for a few miles... (presumably as the fuel level goes down)... car behaves as normal - without issue. symptoms are very much like a bad tank of gas. took car to the dealer and they were unable to diagnose the problem. dealer ran diagnostic checks and no issues are reported. dodge refuses to do anything until dealer can diagnose the problem. yet, there is the exact same type of investigation that has already occurred (pe13016) - http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/problems/defect/results.cfm?action_number=pe13016&searchtype=quicksearch&summary=true where chrysler acknowledges the problem with my 5.7l engine. is frustrating as can take the car to the dealership shortly after the problem (when it is occurring) and they inspect to find everything appears to be in find working order. yet, i certainly know the problem exists. :-( *tr

After filling up vehicle with gas car would quit running as i entered highway. car shut off sitting at several traffic light. while attempting to get up to speed car was stalling. after about 30 miles of driving when gas ran out of tank car was fine. refueled yesterday and same problem issue is defective gas tank and with numerous complaints chrysler has not done a recall to fix vehicles. *tr

While driving on the interstate after work my vehicle stalled out and i lost control. i had to strong arm the steering wheel to get the vehicle to veer onto the emergency shoulder lane. vehicles behind me slammed on their brakes and honked their horns trying to avoid hitting my vehicle. prior to the event i filled my gas tank. after giving the vehicle a few minutes i tried to turn the ignition. after several tries the vehicle started. i was unable to accelerate over 35 mph and the vehicle shook and stalled the entire ride home. that was 3 weeks ago and the issue has worsened. my vehicle is stalling in mid-sections. it's shaking and along with the fuel light the engine light continuously dings. my code reads engine misfiring and fuel valve failures. the dealership was unable to pinpoint the issue and told me to research the issue under nhtsa.org. i have almost caused several accidents and i do have a small child i must transport in this vehicle as well. it should not take a fatality for this issue to be resolved by the parties responsible. *tr

2006 dodge charger this happened on three separate occasions. after a fill up at a gas station, the car would stall out, usually when just leaving the gas station. all three occasions, the stall out was right in the middle of the road turning on to. luckily, everyone was paying attention and no wreck ensued. according to dodge, the problem is some kind of gas valve failed causing the car to stall. unfortunately, dodge said the valve could not be replaced. the whole gas tank had to be replaced. cost of approximately $2500. safety problems as i see it: 1. valve should not fail and cause a stall out. danger of serious crash. 2. design is deficient that you have to take the gas tank out and put a new one in to fix a defective valve. mileage is an estimate for the time of the last incident. *tr

Vehicle stalls out intermittently after refueling. this happens when vehicle is stopped or slowing for a stop. had vehicle examined and no trouble codes are in the computer. *tr

After filling the gas tank up, i left the gas station and the car stalled out 7 times. this continues to happen every time i fill the tank up. the steering also goes out. the car has a hard time starting back up once it happens. it happened on the highway also. *tr

Like a number of others in the database we had just filled the gas tank and driven a few miles. after stopping for a traffic light we attempted to accelerate through the intersection after the light turned green. we just cleared the intersection when the car bucked several times and the engine died. we pulled off to the side of the road and attempted to start the car. after several tries the car started up, idled ok, and we proceeded on. the next time we filled up the car the same thing happened. after doing some research on the internet we found the description of the problem as liquid gas getting into the fuel vent line when the gas tank was filled. we subsequently got gas twice without totally filling the tank and had no problems. the internet site we found indicated that the problem could be either the purge solenoid valve or a valve integral to the gas tank. since the purge solenoid valve was the cheaper fix we tried that first. that fix was not successful as the car stalled after being filled up. we replaced the gas tank yesterday, filled the gas tank, and had no stalling or hesitation. so, it appears that the problem is fixed. however, i could envision a number of situations where one could be in a life-threatening situation if the car died in the middle of an intersection or in heavy traffic on the interstate. since this appears to be a well-known problem i don't understand why there has not been a recall. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 dodge charger. the contact stated that while driving 2 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician diagnosed that the dual fuel tank assembly was defective and needed to be replaced. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 66,200 and the current mileage was 66,258. *tr

I own a 2006 5.7 hemi dodge charger. during my trip into work my engine shut off automatically in park, so i went through 4 cycles of restarting my engine. finally i got the car started and proceeded down my street onto the main road. as i gave my car gas the engine shutdown and i went through the cycle again. i called one of the local dodge dealerships where i purchased my vehicles and they had no complaints on the problem. as i drove to the dealership i got on the interstate at the speed of 70mph the engine was hesitating again, but did not fully shutdown. i am sure dodge has heard this complaint from multiple owners and i feel dodge should correct the issue. this is very dangerous especially if you are traveling on a busy road. *tr

Multiple times in the last month when i have refueled, the vehicle is difficult to start and then runs extremely rough and usually dies on the road once or twice. the engine seems to rumble and shakes the vehicle and then after a short period of driving it seems to go away. the engine light blinks on and off while this situation is happening. my mechanic has looked the problem over twice and cannot seem to determine what needs to be done to correct the problem. he has been in contact with dodge/chrysler and they indicate no other reported problems. the mechanic is still checking but seems to remember changing a fuel tank on a charger in the past that was having an engine problem and it corrected the problem. he is rechecking his files to find that repair job. last night my vehicle died twice in my driveway (with less than half a tank of gas) and i consider it unsafe to drive at this point. anyone want to buy a used 2006 charger (hemi)??? it will be sitting in my driveway. Pe13-016, this issue applies to my charger r/t and anytime i fill up my gas tank the car will stall at any speed. i've had this happen at any speed from the low speeds mentioned to as high as 45 when i was accelerating and i had sloshed the gas tank. anyway, i have talked with multiple dodge dealerships and they have all told me that they have no idea what i'm talking about and that they have nothing in their system that would show them my car was affected. i feel that this is crazy and needs to be corrected. i have a car that will kill itself after any fillup and i can't get the manufacturer to own up to what they promised. *tr

Car will stall while decelerating on freeway after filling up the car. even though this is an issue that is known with chrysler and they have extended the tank warranty to lifetime under nvs-213krh; pe13-106 they are still not communicating to the dealers that this issue exists and what the proper fix is. i also can not get them to confirm or deny that my vin is part of the group of cars that this problem pertains to, however i had the same exact symptoms as all other drives with the car stopping after refueling the system. the dealership tries to blame the customer for 'over-fueling' but i find it ridiculous that you can not fill your engine to full ( 7/8 or above) without this issue happening. when you bring it to the dealership they show raw fuel in the cannister and want to trouble shoot it as a customer error. so far this issue has cost me $2500 (tank, labor, rental, 2 canisters now) to fix on my own and chrysler and the dealership are of no help. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 dodge charger rt. the contact stated that on multiple occasions, the engine stalled without warning. the vehicle was able to be restarted after several attempts. additionally, gasoline would sporadically spill from the fuel tank. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the check valve was causing an overflow condition. the vehicle was later taken to an authorized dealer, who diagnosed that the check valve, evaporation canister and the fuel tank needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 90000. ..updated 05-09-14 *bf .. ..updated 05/15/14 *bf the consumer stated the vehicle stalled at a highway speed, and another instance of fuel spilling from the tank during fill-up resulting in a spill at the gas pump/ the consumer stated he was forced to stop re-fueling at about 15-18 gallons to avoid the situation. updated 05/15/14

I have a 2006 dodge charger srt-8, after a fill-up at the gas station today as i proceeded out of the gas station i noticed my car started to sputter as i was coming across a bridge. as i came off the bridge my car started to sputter even more and finally as i stopped at a red light the car just stalled. i re cranked the car not sure of what was going on and proceeded down to my military installation gate entrance. as i approach the gate guard the car just stalls again right in the middle of morning traffic. this was very dangerous especially having a stalled car at the entrance of a military base. i recranked the car again and proceeded to work and as i was going to park the car it just shut off in the parking lot. this seems to be a safety related problems and deserves a true investigation. this problem seems to be unpredictable so i will not drive the car with my children in it anymore; i do not feel like the car is safe. *tr

After fueling my dodge charger, i drove down the road from the gas station and my car stalled. it started a few attempts later. this is the 5th time it has occurred. *tr

Every time the vehicle gas tank is filled, the engine stalls shortly after driving away. it requires several cranks of the engine to get started again. after the engine is restarted, driving /idle is rough for some amount of time before returning to normal. this happens all the time. this is very dangerous as the car stalls on me in traffic and merging on to the freeway after filling up at any gas station. *tr

The car suddenly stalled and engine turned off. the steering was locked and was unable to move. i was turning into my subdivision when suddenly this happened. i was probably around 5 mph. luckily there was no car behind me. i was able to put the car in park and start it and drive home without issue. the second time it got stalled when the same day i had to take my son to one of his class. when i was stopped at the light, the car stalled. this time it took few tries to get the car started. once it started, the rpm was fluctuating as if it was starving for fuel. since other complains have references to this happening after filling up gas, i want to mentioned that i had filled the gas the day before and i must have drove 20 or so miles before this happened first time. *tr

On the last 2 occasions of filling our vehicle with gas the car will purge and stall, loosing all power. i happens for a couple days and then goes away. we took it to the dealer and they cannot find any codes, they also told us do not fill the tank. i do not understand this and i do not feel safe in this vehicle anymore. i have not been filling the tank and so far so good but not the answer. its very scary to just stall after filling your car with gas and there is nothing you can do. i need help.. *tr
