Recently reported POWER TRAIN problems on 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

I was driving on a state route (rt. 59 rockland county, ny) after light turned green i started to accelerate and all of the sudden the car went into neutral. the light above the "d" (drive mode) indicator started blinking and the car wouldn't accelerate. i had to stop in middle of a busy intersection and shift into park, then shift back to drive. this has to be addressed urgently since this is a very dangerous thing. i don't feel comfortable driving my car anymore. i called chrysler and they say it's unusual and i should bring it to the dealer in 2 weeks (that;s when they have an available appointment). i hope the nhsta can do something about this faster.

The vehicle stalls while in motion and while shifting from first to the second gear or from second to third gear. after it stalls for a couple of seconds the vehicle jumps. it is not something constant that will occur, only sometimes and the dealer cannot reproduce the occurrence and they cannot take any action to fix it (at least this is their response). the computer is not recording any malfunction. when this occurs but you cannot accelerate or decelerate, or do anything to avoid any potential accident. i submitted the vehicle to two chrysler dealers for a check and because they couldn't reproduce the incident they told me to wait until such issue occurs more constant. this is a very disturbing approach because it happens while the vehicle is in motion and can provoke an accident. i have 4 children and i use the van to drive my family and this is a significant safety issue that should be considered more seriously. *tt updated 8/30/18*jb

I have experienced sporadic incidents with my 2017 chrysler pacifica where when braking to a stop, the engine continues to run at 1500 or so rpm instead of idling down. it requires extremely heavy brake pressure and putting my left foot on the brake so that i can tap the accelerator with my right foot. that will disengege the transmission and cause the engine to idle down. during these incidents the automatic engine shut-off when the care is braked has not been disengaged the dealer has not been able to locate any codes or dupicate the problem. in summary, it is an accident waiting to happen.

My 2017 chrysler pacifica has lost power three times while driving on the roadway.the first time was in may 2018 while driving on u.s. hwy 9 (55 mph speed limit); the second time was in september 2018 on a secondary roadway and the third time was in september 2018 on a tertiary roadway. all three times the car remained on however the car would not move forward when the accelerator was depressed. i have returned the car to the dealership all three times. the first time the car remained at the dealership for 14 days. they claimed that they could not get the car to replicate the problem however they replaced a valvebody harness. the second time the car was taken to the dealership via flatbed the dealership told me they could not get the car to replicate the problem and they did no work related to the transmission. the car was taken to the dealership for the third time on september 15, 2018 and they, despite several requests, have told me that they will not be replacing the transmission. they have had the car for 17 days this time. i do not have a service invoice for this last visit as they still have the car..the car is not safe. the car should not on the road.

My 2017 pacifica was recalled in january 2018 for the engine stall problem. chrysler told me they might not have a fix for the problem until the 2nd quarter of the year! i told them that i wasn't driving a dangerous car around. i brought it to the dealer and it sat there for a month while i drove a rental. i was then told that the pcm was updated with software and it was fixed. after a picked it up i got a notice from chrysler saying that i didn't need to do the repair because it was fixed during the prior recall for egr valve??? well, while driving last week, the car stalled six times in two days! one of times i was parked and idling, another time, i was slowing down for a light and the other times i was just driving. i had it towed to the dealer and they've had it for a week and are in contact with chrysler trying to remedy it! whatwver they did to "fix" this recall previously did not fix it as the very dangerous problem is still happening! will not drive my family around in this terrible car.

Since 11/2017, have had ongoing issue with sensation of a very hard shift occurring when accelerating especially if i have been driving in heavy traffic for some time. this has been on both highways and on local streets. sensation is so hard, it feels like vehicle has been rear ended. this has occurred both before and after recall work was done. have requested evaluation twice at dealer and each time nothing able to be found as cause. the event does not occur all of the time so service techs most likely did not experience it. starting the week of 4/30, van has started to be slow in acceleration when pulling away from red lights, intersections and merging onto highways. feel van is becoming increasingly unsafe to drive. also had check engine light come on and found to be fuel pressure sensor. when first replaced at dealer, fuel pressure sensor worked for a few days and then van would not start and approx. 1/4 tank of gas lost on parking lot surface. required towing and when checked o-ring had crimped and burst on new sensor. *tt *tr

Automatic start and stop is very concerning, after a year of driving 2017 pacifica, the automatic start is slowing in response, causing significant concerns for roll back, torque twist, air conditioning, and overall safety. this is a major issue, that needs to be reviewed.

Van stalled at low speed while slightly turning to the right in a parking lot, then came back on on its own. the engine was not running for a few seconds. my van has already had all recalls completed.

Vehicle was recalled due to pacifica's stalling creating dangerous situations, van was take to dealership and software updated. our van had been having many transmission issues, mainly hard shifts that shifted so hard it felt like the vehicle was rear ended. after the software update, our family was on an on ramp to the highway and the vehicle suddenly just stalled and stopped. the vehicle finally began moving again after what seemed like a long time but was most likely 5 - 10 seconds. had a vehicle been following us it would have resulted in an accident without question. the van made it home and has been parked in our garage as we feel it is unsafe to drive. chrysler has been contacted and is looking into it. we bought a new vehicle and this one because of the many safety features, unfortunately we are left with a vehicle that puts my wife and three kids in danger.

Tl* the contact owns a 2017 chrysler pacifica. the contact stated that after his wife had stopped the vehicle and depressed on the accelerator pedal, the transmission slipped and the vehicle quit moving. the vehicle was taken to a dealer holzhauer auto and motorsports (17933 holzhauer automall dr, nashville, il 62263, 866-570-9956) who diagnosed the vehicle and stated that they could not be able to duplicate the failure. the manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided a case number: 57269348. the failure mileage was 19,000. *tr

My vehicle has a recall notice u01 from chrysler and a letter was delivered that it was completed after the recall was issued on january 11th 2018. the car has never been to any dealers and the letter claims that this was completed 2/18/18. i believe that they are sending false notices about recalls being completed without them actually being completed. as a matter of fact, we did experience this complete stall as described in the recall.

Inquiry on behalf of constituent regarding the concerns of her 2017 chrysler pacifica. *ld the consumer stated the vehicle stalled randomly on multiple occasions. when the vehicle would stall it became difficult to restart. *js

Van stalls intermittently while driving without warning. this van has had the chrysler recall for this issue performed on it in late 2017 and its still stalling about every 500 to 1200 miles of operation. van is very dangerous to drive it can quit on a moments notice without warning at any speed. the obd2 system records no system faults when this has happened as per dealer service that has looked at the vans data logs. chrysler claims the van has been repaired via download update for egr valve that also included the stalling fix but it has not fixed the issue.

Van loses ability to go forward while driving. dash lights all come on and engine begins to cough and stutter leaving me stranded in traffic. dash codes include "service electronic stability control, engine light, "parking brake temporarily unavailable," and other dash icons. it will move forward at idle speed only-no accelerator. i have had it towed to chrysler dealerships 3 times and was able to drive it in a fourth. this issue has nearly caused 2 accidents-one of them with the potential to cause serious harm. while moving in traffic the van stops going forward and decelerates quickly causing traffic behind it to have to swerve to avoid hitting it. it has also occurred in the middle of a turn from a stop onto a state highway. this instance required other drivers to swerve into another lane and onto the shoulder/curb to avoid hitting me or vehicles in other lanes. it has occurred immediately when starting the van in a parking lot. it has occurred at low speed in a subdivision. chrysler refuses buyback and continues to tell me to drive the vehicle. all recalls have been done, the pcm has been reprogrammed/replaced 4 times, the "harness" has been fixed/replaced 3 times. both of the sliding doors have had to have the motors replaced on separate trips to the dealership. this vehicle is an electrical nightmare and chrysler is not dealing with it. this began at about 14,500 miles and within the 1st 7months of buying the vehicle brand new. i have been trying to get this resolved for 6 months with no help from fiat chrysler or the dealer- shuman chrysler. they continue to make it run and let me drive it for a short period until it stops again. my family is going to be seriously hurt in this vehicle and there doesn't seem to be any recourse.

Harsh shifting during forward motion between 1st and 2nd gears in 9 speed automatic transmission. problem is intermittent and can happen unexpectedly regardless of ambient conditions or distance driven. engine rpms rapidly increase before abrupt and jarring shifting occurs. has current software installed, no codes are generated. our dealership has looked into it and suggests a software update may be available in the future to address this, but nothing available yet. may potentially cause loss of traction on unfavorable roads. actual cause is unknown

We are on our second pacifica after the first was bought back by chrysler due to major electrical issues (vehicle would not start or function correctly, dealer couldn't fix it). now on our second pacifica we have had constant transmission issues...first transmission started slamming into gear (feels like you are being rear ended by another vehicle, this can be at slower speeds < 20 mph while going straight or turning), they reset computer, that didn't fix it, so then they replaced the valve body in the transmission (2 seperate shop trips). a couple months later it started slamming into gear again (slow speeds < 20, turning and going straight), so they replaced the transmission after putting us in a rental for another month, about 6 months later this transmission had the same exact issue, slamming into gear at low speeds (< 20, turning or going straight). so we are on our 2nd pacifica and the 3rd transmission now and are still having the same issue as we initially had (slamming into gear like you are being rear ended at slow speeds < 20 going straight or turning)! there are serious issues with this transmission that chrysler needs to resolve! this is not safe to drive the way it is, because you don't know the situation you will be driving in when it happens.

Engine shut off while driving at approx. 25mph on a snow covered street in the dark. lost all power and electrical systems and was stranded in middle of street with traffic all around. engine restarted after a number of attempts. vehicle had previously been updated with recall to address this issue in january of 2017 (u01/nhtsa 18v-049). contacted chrysler and was told they are aware of the issue and expect another software recall to be ready in april. they requested the vehicle be taken out of service and provided an rental car until update will be made available.

I was driving in my residential neighborhood, i had slowed down at a corner to let a child on a bike pass me by. when the child passed me, i put my foot on the gas and the car moved and then stopped - everything shut off, the lights, the engine, everything. i am not sure what happened next- people behind me were honking like crazy and i it took me a few seconds to figure out what to do next. i put the car in park and pushed the start/stop button and car started again. there was an error message on the dashboard (the a with an arrow and exclamation point), i drove straight to the dealership and left the car with them. the consumer stated the uconnect stopped working as well as the airbag. *js *js

While waiting at a red light my auto stop/start system automatically activated as usual. however, this time when the light turned green the engine did not automatically start. instead, the vehicle stalled. the car was in drive and my foot was on the brake pedal. a warning chime alerted me to the problem. also, a message instructed me to turn the car off and the put it into park and restart it. after turning the car off and then on the car moved.

Brand new... owned less than a month... 750 miles...we live at the top of a very steep hill with a sharp curve at the bottom. i reversed out of my driveway onto the street and shifted the van into drive. i felt the car go into gear and i started rolling down the hill, as it's a steep incline you pick up speed quickly. as the van gained speed down the hill something felt "wrong" and i suddenly realized i wasn't in full control of the vehicle. with the sharp curve quickly approaching i stomped the brake and brought the van to a stop. i put the van in park at the bottom of the hill and tried understand what was going on. i put the van back in drive, felt it go into gear but when i tried to accelerate nothing happened. put in it reverse, felt it go into gear and it started to go backwards a little herky jerky but when i pressed the accelerator nothing happened. i had to put it back in park, turn it off and then restart it before it i could drive it back up to my house. i took it to the dealership the next morning. turns out it was the day after the dealer received notice of the recall. i was told my vin number fell under the recall, my pcm needed new software and they couldn't do anything until chrysler provided the fix which wasn't expected until april and they couldn't even sell the ones on the lot. call chrysler! i have called chrysler almost everyday for the last 2 weeks and all i get is a "sorry but i can't do anything, waiting to hear from the regional supervisor". i live in atlanta and if that happened on i-285 (5-6 lanes) you would be roadkill! there is absolutely no way in hell you could stop the car, put it in park, stop the engine and then restart safely. at this point it's a $32k rolling death trap that chrysler won't/can't deal with... 100% unsafe for my wife and 3 kids!

2017 chrysler pacifica recall my car stalls upon slowing down or stopping. it also flutters, like it is trying not to stall while driving. the dealership claims they cannot duplicate the problem, however there is also an open recall for the same issue on my car and vin # but they are telling me they do not have the remedy yet. if you do not have the remedy yet, the car should not be returned to me for clear unsafe reasons and a lender car should be given until the recall can be fixed. corporate chrysler has also yet to announce when the new software update will be readily available, causing my dealership town and country in levittown to not have any answers for me. i should not be given back a car that is unsafe, that can stall and cause an accident with my children in the car. it should be kept until fixed and answers should be given.

The driver side rear sliding door on various occasions almost completes the closing process as it comes to lock it beeps and bounces back. the vehicle was stationary and no obstructions in the way. in other instances more recently the transmission had a rough shift on lower gears. the rear automatic cargo door starts opening and gets stuck at the midway point.

Vehicle engine and electrical system shut down while driving 35 mph in traffic. total looks of power steering also occurred. our family with small children also were in the car. this could have been much worse if it occurred at highway speeds on a busier road. once stopped the dash alerted us to shift to park to restart vehicle. we did but car would not start. no attempt to turn over at all. put flashers on and parts of dash, uconnect screen and interior lights flashed also. car has 10,000 miles only and has been relatively trouble free to this point. i see many like complaints on this website and in online forums. to date it seems reading feedback from others affected, even after multiple occurrences and trips to the dealership, chrysler has not identified a root cause or been able to permanently resolve the issue. this is a huge safety issue and we will not drive this car again without a definite resolution.

For the past year the car jerks forward and stalls while driving. especially after going from a stop. sometimes it is so bad, you violently jerk forward. have broughten to dealer twice for this. once they did a softward update, that did not help. second time they said it was normal

Transmission will lockout normal operation and blink "n" on both instrument cluster and gear shift knob. when failed, the vehicle will not operate in either reverse or drive and it appears to hold in park. vehicle then needs to be shutoff and restarted, sometimes multiple times, before the vehicle can move again. my wife reported a very rough gear engagement that felt like she was rear ended but it appears to have been a violent gear change. i took car for a test drive and pulled out of my driveway in reverse, pulled into the street, stopped, changed to drive and experienced the lockout with a screen saying "service trans, press brake when stopped, key off engine to engage park". at this point i was stuck with my vehicle blocking the entire street and i could not use drive, reverse or put the car in neutral to push it. if felt like it was in park. i tried to shutdown and restart the vehicle to get it moving but it took about 4 attempts before i could get it into drive and out of the way. we took car to dealer and they rebuilt transmission valve body. a few months later the problem came back. i had to tow the vehicle to the dealer as i was afraid of getting stranded. they pulled 5 trouble codes and try again. i have picture of the dash and i have a brief video of the failure in my driveway.

2017 pacifica continues after multiple attempts to repair to drop/slip out of gear while driving with no warning and then suddenly thrusts back into gear causing the entire car to jerk forward as though we have been hit from behind. these issues happen under 20mph and there is no way to control what is happening. our necks are forced forward and the sudden shock of the movement forward is not possible to stop. the problem began in december of 2017 and after 4-5 visits to the service i still have no resolution 2 years later.

I was driving in a neighborhood area approaching my community service event at a boys and girls club. searching for street parking, i was about to slow down releasing my accelerator pedal and suddenly the car stalls. i safely steer to the right and make a stop in attempt to move out of the way in a busy street. the screen on my car instructs me to put my gear back to park in order to continue, i shift it to park as it says on the screen and the screen instruction remains the same. the start button light is indicating that my car is still on so i shift my gear to drive and stepped on my accelerator pedal. the engine revs, but it does not move. i put my gear back to park and pushed the button to turn the engine off. then i push the start button again to turn it back on. this time i shift it to drive and i am finally able to drive forward. i was stuck in the stalled position for a few minutes in a panic trying to figure out what was going on. imagine if this happened on a freeway or a very busy major street. it would be very dangerous to me and my family as well as other drivers around. i demand a safety recall for the safety of my family and others. *bf updated 8/16/18*jb

I was driving on the highway with congested traffic at around 10mph. without any prior alert, the engine shut off by itself and the vehicle lost its power. i had to turn the transmission to p from d and restart the vehicle.

Tl* the contact owns a 2017 chrysler pacifica. while reversing out of the driveway, the contact placed the vehicle in the drive position. the vehicle displayed as if it were in drive mode. when the accelerator pedal was depressed, the vehicle reversed. the contact also stated that the vehicle jerked occasionally no matter the speed. there were no warning indicators illuminated. the vehicle was taken to an unknown dealer to be diagnosed, but the results were not yet available. the failure mileage was 19,555.

Vehicle shuts off while driving and cannot be restarted until it comes to a complete stop. vehicle has stopped running while slowing down for a light, it has stopped after getting off expressway and while driving through a parking lot. in the last two months it has stalled at least 10 times.

Back in november 2017, my family and i were driving 70mph on the freeway and the car's dashboard light all turned on and started blinking. the car lost power forcing me to quickly pull over and avoided another car from colliding. the service lights turned on. i turned of the ignition and turned it back on. i took the car to the dealership the following day. they ran a diagnostic test but could not pull any codes of the incident. i saw the recall announced a couple of days ago. i contacted chrysler and was informed that the fix for this recall will not be available until 2nd quarter of 2018. i do not feel safe driving this car, especially with my kids on board. we purchased this car for its safety rating, now we are driving a death trap.

With only 7300 miles on the odometer, as of this writing 11-21-17, my pacifica has failed to start on 4 separate occassions. with each event, all the warning lights on the main and radio dash lit up and flashed on and off. also, the wiper blades came on and stayed on, not being able to shut off with the designated switch. as well, numerous "warning windows" popped up on the center dash info screen...service electronic stability, park brake unavailable, blind spot alert unavailable service required, service tire pressure system, park sense unavailable, service air bag system, warning bells constantly chiming, entire dash goes completely dark and radio turns off and on by itself. the last attempt to start, 11-20-17, after numerous times in an hours time, the engine did start only to shut down almost immediately. the vehicle has been towed to my local chrysler dealership twice now and is still there as of this writing. on the first event when towed in, i was told that a service writer also could not attempt to start the vehicle, but when the service tech tried, it did start. i was told to come pick up my vehicle that there were no error codes found and my vehicle was operating normally. i really dread the day when my pacifica dies while driving, as that apparantly has happened to many dozens of other 2017 pacificas already, placing the occupants in extreme danger. i just read an article in the new york times with regards to this dangerous issue and i near the point of demanding that chrysler buy back my vehicle. i do have multiple videos taken on my cell phone but do not have the ability to upload them just yet.

Zf 9 speed transmission suddenly disengages at slow speeds passenger sliding door slow and rough when opening.

Vehicle lost motive power while attempting to excelerate from a stop on a city street. vehicle was restarted but loud clunking noise and violent shaking came from engine compartment. vehicle was towed and has been at the local dealer since with little communication about a prognosis or permanent fix.

While stopped at a traffic light, the ess feature of the vehicle typically stops the engine to reduce co2 emissions and supposedly save on gas. as soon as i release the brakes, the engine re-starts and off i go. however, in this instance, after i let go of the brakes, the vehicle began rolling backwards, which caused me to step on the brakes right away or i would have hit the car behind me. i let go of the brakes again, then the engine restarted as usual. this is very concerning and a potential safety issue.

After sitting at a red light i attempted to drive forward when the light changed and the car would not move and i got a message on the drivers console that said "shift to p to drive" i attempted to shift but the knob wouldn't turn and so i had to turn the car off, shift to park then turn the car back on and then shift back into drive to move forward. this has happened twice now within the span of 3 days. the car has roughly 4.5k miles on it...updated 11/14/17 *bf updated 11/16/2017*js

There is a problem with the nine speed transmission. occasionally when shifting from first to second while accelerating from a stop, there will be a loss of power to the wheels even though the gas pedal is still engaged. after a second or two the transmission will shift roughly into the next gear with a great lurch. it feels like another vehicle has nerfed you in the rear bumper. the lurch is that strong. chrysler says there is no bulletin about the problem. they claimed they reflashed the computer but that did nothing to fix the problem.

Tl* the contact owns a 2017 chrysler pacifica. while accelerating from a stop, the vehicle abruptly jerked forward without warning. the contact also stated that the check engine indicator illuminated intermittently. the vehicle was taken to parkway chrysler dodge jeep ram (21560 hall road, clinton township, michigan 48038, (586)-800-3578) to be diagnosed, but no failure was found. the dealer reprogrammed the quick learn and the clear shift adapter. the contact was unsure if the parts that were reprogrammed were for the transmission or the engine; however, the repair did not correct the failure. the manufacturer was contacted. the approximate failure mileage was 5,000.

Van was in drive, but stopped at an intersection on a city street waiting to turn left. when light changed i attempted to accelerate and engine did not engage. blue light on gear indicator started flashing. i was able to put car in park then shift into drive again, but there was lag when accelerating. i drove out of intersection and into parking lot. shut off car then restarted and drove it directly to dealer. still waiting for problem to be assessed. check engine light had come on one day prior to this incident. ..updated 11/08/17 *bf updated 11/13/2017*js

My wife was driving home from work and slowing down to approach a red light. as she was slowing, the vehicle experienced total systems failure. the touch screen display became scrambled, steering was unresponsive and the vehicle slowed to a stop. my wife was unable to accelerate, shift gears or turn the vehicle off. three police officers pushed the van into a nearby parking lot. during this time no one was able to turn the vehicle off or shift gears. finally, the car essentially rebooted itself and all systems seemed to return to normal. the car was towed to the dealership on 10-27-17, 12 days after purchase with approximately 400 miles. the car has been at the dealership for 6 days now and no problems have been found. they have not been able to recreate the problem and no error codes were found. this means the car has now been in the shop for 1/3 of the time that has passed since we first drove off the lot. this failure is disturbingly similar to numerous other complaints that have been filed. thank goodness my wife was slowing down when this happened or it could have caused a serious accident and even death. i refuse to allow my wife or children back in this vehicle with something so catastrophic happening after so few miles. i have opened a case with chrysler and waiting for them to get back to me. i hope a formal investigation is started soon and chrysler acknowledges the issue to protect the safety of everyone.

While driving, the engine stops and the dashboard and shifter lights start blinking. the message "vehicle must be in park to shift gears" displays on the dashboard. this is incredibly dangerous and has happened 3 times now. our family was almost struck by oncoming traffic. updated 11/9/2017*js

We purchased the vehicle at a local dealership in july 2017. in august, vehicle lost power steering communication unexpectedly. dealership was able to restore power steering, however, they were not entirely sure of the cause. in october, the vehicle lost electrical communication and was stuck on a busy highway off-ramp after stopping at a stop light. we were unable to move the car for 30 minutes. dealership unable to determine the cause and advised us that the car company said they needed to give us the car back. the car has been in the shop for a total 22 of days and nothing was fixed the second time to prevent this from happening again.

Vehicle purchased in december 2016 for $44,000 from safford of fredericksburg. on october 14, 2017, i was driving with my wife, three children and mother-in-law and experienced a loud malfunction that rendered the car inoperable. luckily we were not on the highway at the time and the vehicle was eventually towed to safford of fredericksburg, virginia for repairs. the right front axel had ruptured (total miles on the car were 8,311 at that time). the service agent (jim bogan) noted that this had been flagged on other occasions as identified issues at other service department requiring the next "generation" of axel assembly parts for the repair. shortly after receiving the vehicle, we returned to the same dealership to address a loud girding noise also associated with the right front axel. in early december, 2017 we had the vehicle towed once again to safford of fredericksburg where they again had to repair the right from axel. intermittently and over the past year while these issues were occurring, we continued to experience electronic issues with the sliding doors and rear lift hatch as well. the uconnect entertainment system will also malfunction from time to time. several software updates have been initiated, addressing window and transmission concerns according to the dealership's service department. yet, the vehicle does not function properly, where idle and transmission functioning often appears compromised (rough idle, rough shifting, sudden rpm increases and acceleration bursts when shifting from reverse to drive). i fear this car is not safe for my wife and three young children.

Hesitation then lurching when initiating acceleration at low speeds. loud cranking/scraping noise when releasing accelerator at speeds greater than 40mph. transmission was replaced by dealership for "burnt fluid" twice, but problem remains. vehicle's tachometer at times shows rpms going up to 6000 when decelerating.

While driving down the road my vehicle experienced complete loss of power. i had to manually steer it to the side of the road. after several minutes it restarted and ran fine. this happened right at 6000 miles and again at 6973 miles, same scenario with both. the doors and radio is also acting odd. i beleive there is some sort of electrical issue. both times before the vehicle powered down i was going 70 +miles an hour, heat came all the way on and power shut down. my star # is 1728582. chrysler told me maybe i was driving to fast???? vehicle us only 3 months old. dealership confirmed they had another pacifica in the shop for the same reason...updated 11/07/17 *bf updated 11/09/2017*js

Tl* the contact owns a 2017 chrysler pacifica. on several occasions, while driving various speeds, the vehicle stalled without warning. also, the vehicle made a hard shift while the contact attempted to depress the accelerator pedal. the contact restarted the vehicle and drove to larry h. miller chrysler jeep dodge ram albuquerque (8528 lomas blvd ne, albuquerque, nm 87110, 505-404-0108) to be diagnosed, but a fault code could not be retrieved. the contact was informed that a software update was performed; however, the failure recurred. the manufacturer was contacted and provided a case number. the failure mileage was unknown.

Since we bought the vehicle brand new in september 2017, we keep having issues with the transmission shifting. it will shift so hard you feel as if you were hit from behind. its not only nerve wrecking but scary. it does this without warning, usually about 10 to 25 mph, that is enough to cause whiplash at that rate. its to the point, i m afraid to drive the vehicle not knowing what is going to happen next. it does this whether you are driving on the city streets or highways. we have spoke to fiat chrysler and greve dealership with no results.

Tl* the contact owns a 2017 chrysler pacifica. while driving approximately 70 mph, the vehicle lost power. the contact managed to drive to a friend's residence and called sahara chrysler in las vegas, nv (702-479-2121). the contact was advised to proceed to the shop. the vehicle shut down en route and was towed to the dealer. in addition, the oil pressure indicator illuminated. the technician diagnosed and repaired the serpentine belt, the pretensioner belt, and the splash shield. the technician stated that the oil pump pressure became stuck and caused the engine to go into limp mode for safety. the vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred after approximately 30 miles of driving. the vehicle was pulled over to the side of the road and was shut off. the contact called aaa roadside service and the vehicle was towed to falls chrysler, jeep, dodge in cuyahoga falls, oh (330-923-3041). the dealer diagnosed that oil leaked from the left valve cover to the alternator, serpentine belt, and the cylinder head cover. the vehicle was repaired and was successfully test driven by the technician. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure, provided a case number, and offered a rebate. the contact declined the rebate. the failure mileage was 2,879.

Sudden engine failure and power loss while driving. error messages displayed on dash indicating failure of electronic stability control and transmission, along with check engine light. this issue started intermittently, but became so severe that it would happen multiple times in a short <10 mile trip. to recover, the car must be stopped, turned off, and then restarted....updated 11/03/17 *bf. updated 11/9/2017*js
