I just recently purchased this 2014 vw passat from nissan and they did not reveal all the recalls on this vehicle! i'm really dissatisfied with the nissan dealership as i feel this is being deceitful, not to mention very unsafe for me and my family. dishonest!!!!! to say the least!
Takata recall i was notified when i went in to get my 30,000 mile maintenance done that a recall would soon be out on my vehicle. after doing research online i realized it was on the driver side airbag, with the description " in the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the driver's frontal air bag, the inflator could rupture with metal fragments striking the vehicle occupants potentially resulting in serious injury or death". after speaking with 3 different representatives for vw i have come to find out that my car airbag is under recall with no part to fix it right now, and no time limit as to when it will be fixed. one of these representatives went on to tell me he "highly doubts anything will happen". he can not guarantee my safety when i am on the road and i do not appreciate him thinking he can. i am outraged by this because i drive a minimum of 60 miles a day to and from work and i am 6 months pregnant. i absolutely do not feel safe driving and they have no alternative. i can not believe i am still paying on this vehicle when a part is recalled with no alternative fix for the problem. i know of other vendors who have offered rental cars to their customers who have this same issue...why is this not an option for us? it should be.

It has been 6 months and there has been no replacement airbag for my vehicle. this is a leased vehicle and is currently unsafe to drive. i have approached the dealership as well as volkswagen of america. v of a told me to "go ahead and drive the car". this is unacceptable. takada airbags had issues before 2014, and the company still bought from them. they had to have knowledge of the problem. i am paying for a vehicle that i can not drive
Takata recall - i bought this vehicle for safety and i'm very disappointed that there is no fix or eta on one at this time. this is a breach of contract and i don't feel safe driving this vehicle anymore. a loaner program, at the very least, should be in place. this is appalling that no mind is paid to the safety of owners and vw just expects us to just sit back and wait for "another letter" but drivers can die if the airbag deploys.
Takata recall. i am driving this vehicle as i do not have extra cars laying around. my son drives this car. it is very scary to me that vw has had no recalls done, why? other models have had some cars repaired. i am unsure of the difficulty with vw and why they have not had their driver's side airbags fixed. there is no timeline only a suggestion to "drive the care impacted less frequently". does vw or takata think everyone just uses a car for extra or fun. if i had that kind of car, a for fun car, it would not be a vw passat. we bought this car because it was practical and safe. now i have to worry if my airbag goes off it could kill myself, my husband or my son. i am frustrated that we are told to not drive the car so much and that they can do nothing but by the way... you could be killed. it is stressful that you cannot sell this car to be rid of it because of this recall. what can you do? when will volkswagen have a fix, why are they not fixing any airbags yet? we were notified in april 2016 and it is six month later with no update nothing.

I received a recall notice for the takata sdi driver frontal airbag in april 2016. i have been in contact with volkswagon several times over the last year and am always told that the parts are not available. the information on your website indicates the seriousness of the defect and am concerned about my safety should i have a car accident. i understand the recall is massive, as i understand the problem is if the airbag deflates it could cause serious injury or death. i am filing this complaint as i think a year of waiting is in excess and should have some urgency place on have the issued resolved.
