Tl* the contact owns a 2013 volkswagen jetta. the contact stated that when her son was driving, a rattling sound was heard in the vehicle. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and was diagnosed that the transmission was fractured. the vehicle was not repaired and was not taken to a dealer. the vin was included in nhtsa campaign number: 19v866000 (power train). the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 74,000.
I bought my new 2019 jetta 2 days ago. it had only 111 miles on it. the day after i purchased it, i began to notice a grinding noise coming from the transmission between 15 to 30 mph. it sounds like gears grinding on a manual transmission when the clutch isn't fully engaged. i also noticed the rpm's jumping up erratically when i'm hearing the noise. i contacted east coast volkwsgon, the dealership where i purchased it. the service department representative i spoke with was familiar with the complaint. i am taking it in tomorrow morning to have it checked. i am very concerned about a new car already having transmission issues. the representative's response prompted me to research this issue and i see that this problem appears to be common for this model.
Automatic transmission does not shift. while driving the vehicle hesitated between gears and eventually went into a neutral state while driving at 40 mph. very close to an accident. there are multiple reports of this issue and already have recalls against certain vin but should be for all vin's. hybrid system error displayed along with shift selector blinking from drive to a wrench. called vw customer care and they abruptly interrupted me and stated they will not address this. very suspicious.
Hybrid module work shop warning. the car has now power breaks when this happens. the car under performs when the electric drive does not work. no power brakes add to the problems. my car has been repaired 2 times for the same problem. it a drive ability and safety issue. vw has not been helpful with a solution.
The car had transmissions problems soon after i purchased it. volkswagen said it repaired it when i brought it to the dealer for warranty service. now a more serious transmission problem has occurred. at first it sort of felt like the gears were slipping, then it suddenly stopped moving while i was driving. this was a potentially dangerous situation. luckily, i was able to pull over. to try to move again, i shifted into drive for extended periods of time, like 30sec or more, and the revs would go all the way to 10 but it would not move. then it stopped working all together, and now it won't even turn on. i towed the car to the dealer and said it was the transmission. it seems clear that either the transmission was not repaired properly or it has a dangerously faulty design.
Complete loss of drive while driving, check engine light came on, gear indicator flashing "d" and a wrench. after making it to the side of the road and trying to get power back, the car would not start.
I was on my way to work at 3 am i jumped on the freeway and my vehicle lost acceleration and started sputtering back and forth i was able to pull aside to get away from the freeway the car then sped up on its own i put my foot on the pedal to see if i could slow it down it then drove normal about a block away from the freeway back toward my home it lost power again while driving very scary i noticed an epc light go on and off 2 times while driving when i finally got it home i turned the car in the on position and noticed the epc light staying on thank you for your time
Premature clutch failure. the jetta only has 6,812 miles on it. clutch completely failed and had to be replaced.
When putting my car in reverse and backing out of a spot brakes make a high pitch ringing. also, when parked muffler/ tail pipe on the left side, it gurgles as if water is boiling in it. car is less than a year old.
Hybrid emotor (electronic traction motor ) fails at 100k miles . can cause sudden failure and fire. vw does not consider this part as pzev and does not follow california pzev law.
