There was originally a recall on the 2007 toyota camry that had a warranty to replace the melting dashboard. the melting dashboard is a safety hazard due to the glare that it produces. the car owner should not be made responsible for an error toyota created. my complaint is that a recall warranty should never expire for someone who paid for a vehicle with expectations that there would be no issues.

The driver side viser does not stay in its secure storing location. the visor will continually fall down obstructing the driver's view of the road. the only way to resolve the issue is to have it opened against the windshield at all time.
Dashboard melting. creates visibility issues due to reflection on windshield.
Takata recall sun visors falling down
Takata recall sun visor flopped down on drivers side. apparently it's an issue with 2007-2011 camry's. cars that are older than mine aren't having this problem. toyota should recognize this issue.
My passenger side sun visor keeps falling down and is impeding my line of sight while driving. the visor will not stay up and replacements seem to also fail per the site listed below. many users report the same issues here: https://www.toyoheadquarters.com/threads/2007-2011-toyota-camry-and-camry-hybrid-sun-visor-warranty-extension-ztt.114/page-6 toyota offered a extended warranty however it expires 7 years after initial purchase date of the vehicle. my vehicle is a 2007 and not covered. this is a safety issue and should be deemed a recall issue.
The dashboard appears to be melting. learned that there is a warranty enhancement on the vehicle but toyota says the warranty enhancement ended as oh may 31, 2017. car was purchase on 2/8/08 within the gen year mark as a certified pre owned vehicle. did not receive a notice or call about this warranty enhancement and was told by toyota that nothing can be done because it was a mandate by the national highway traffic administration
I have a 2007 toyota camry and the whole dashboard of the car is extremely sticky. as if the put glue all over it. i want to know how i am able to remove this stickiness without having to change the whole dashboard.
Dashboard replaced after recall..5 years ago ..same problem now melting causing bad visibility.. toyota refused help..dealership refused help
Has melting dashboard, extremely shiny in sunlight or any other light. difficult to see out of front window.
I bought my car new and i have never had a problem with the dashboard until june 2017. i took it to the toyota dealership becuse i read on the internet that this was a defect with the car. i also never reveived a letter from toyota regarding the dashboard. when i took the car to toyota they said it was sticky and they ordered a new dashboard. i took the car in then got a phonecall from the service department that toyota would not cover the cost because it was after may 2017. now it is becoming a saftey issue becase of the melting it is reflecting on my windshield which is a saftey hazard when i drive the car when the sun is out. toyata corporate told me they make no exceptions. what can i do?
Takata recall: i took my 2007 toyota camry 4 cyl for the bulletin it has of oil consuption and it pass the test twice, i knew there was something wrong but as the technicians told me it was okay i drove it like that for some months still had to add every 1,000 miles 1 q of oil. kept doing this until my engine blew. now irs my fault and they dont want to pay for the repair. total unjustice from toyota.
My toyota did not exhibit the sticky dashboard until june of 2017. i was told that the recall only went until may 0f 2017 and was refused by toyota. it seems to me that it was a definite factory defect and should have been corrected. now i have this continous glare which affects both day and night visability.
Exsecive oil consumption
My mother has a sticky dashboard and this causes a potiential glare on the windshield. she has been in two accidents since she got this car and i am concerned this could be impeding hr vision and am concerned for her safety.lexus noticed the stickiness and referred me to the local dealership.i called the main toyota number and the referred is to the local dealership.the local dealership left a message on my mom's answering machine before looking at the car that this is not a recall.i feel my mom had been discriminated against because she is elderly and her first language is not english.any assistance is appreciated.
The dashboard is melting and the car burns oil fast
Toyota recall for melting /cracked/sticky dashboard ze6 warranty enhancement notification. 2 years ago talked to a dealer in plano tx(toyota plano) 1001 plano pkwy plano tx 75093 -- still no word/feed back on the replacement or changing the part in question
On highway at 65 mph, speedometer needle suddenly dropped to zero at same time abs and brake lights lit up on dash. after a few minutes, abs and brake dash lights turned off at the same time speedometer needle jumped back to current speed indication. no loss of power either way, but has been cycling between for the past week. not limited to specific speeds of amount of time engine has been running, as it occurs at various speeds and various times.
My toyota camry engine is burning excessive oil i dont want this car to blow up on me while driving
My abs doesn't work in my car and caused me to have accident. it was snowing and i began sliding , when i slammed on my breaks the car spun around and hit a pole . if abs was working this wouldn't have happened . the breaks would have pumped and gradually came to a stop .
Oil consumption is really bad. 1 quart of oil every 200-300 miles. no visible oil leaks under car.
Takata recall ive been waiting for the recall when i saw recall for the year and model and make i was like finally but come to find out the vin number wasn't recalled but needs to be. goes off and have to pull over to turn back on
I had 1000 miles left til my next oil change and on the day the problem happened one of the pistons blew up because there was no oil left in the car also the oil light never came on indicating i needed oil. i am the original owner of this vehicle i have service records of all oil changes on time. toyota never sent out a mail regaurding this problem
Dashboard melting
Dash board is really sticky
Driver side sun visor came down un expectantly and became a driving hazard, it had to be removed thus making driving more un safe. i had to purchase a improved sun visor from the dealer which toyota had corrected the faulty sun visor there fore were aware of the problem, toyota also started a short term voluntary recall however it seemed to be at there discretion who received the repair and who did not, what factors they used to discriminate between customers i do not know. it is my habit to ask the dealer every time i go there for service if there are any recalls or advisories open on my 07 camry, they have always said no! so apparently they lied to me on this issue any way, and i had no other way to find out since they did not disclose it to the public. my car was in motion on a busy city street going around a turn when it came down and temporary blinded me. if a pedestrian had hoped out to cross the street, i would of struct that person!
Visor on driver's side keeps falling down and is a hazard when driving. apparently toyota issued a recall and i was never notified. toyota has my updated address and i constantly receive notices from toyota but did not receive this one and the deadline for warranty recall has expired. *tr
The car keeps consuming too much oil. i have to put in new oil about every 1,000 miles.
Abs and brake lights are going on and off. also, the gages are acting crazy. working sometime and not working other times. the air conditioner is working sometimes and not working other. several people have had this problem and have had to replace the abs pump/module! there needs to be a recall on this!!
Took my 2007 camry to al hendrickson due to an oil consumption recall. i was told there was an underlying problem involving the timing cover. they refused to do the oil consumption test until i paid $1,500 to have the oil timing cover repaired.
Sticky and melting dashboard
The dashboard of my 2007 toyota camry has become very sticky -- almost appears to be melting. it is extremely shiny and casting a glare on the windshield, making it difficult to see, which can be very dangerous.
While driving speedometer and tachometer stopped working properly moved up and down rapidly. abs light brake light came on
Passenger visor will not stay in the up position obscuring my vision. descended while vehicle in motion.
My driver side visor broke out of nowhere. i was looking online and i saw where toyota was replacing them for this such reason. unfortunately, i was told that the warranty was only good for 7 years from first use. my warranty ran out 2 years ago, so i guess i have to pay out of pocket. i think since it's a known issue, it should be replaced or at the least given a discount on having to buy a new one.
I am filing complaint on 2007 camry because of excessive oil consumption. from research on issue, i understand that safety issues can occur due to the engines siezing up and the car can quit running while i'm driving. not sure about engine catching fire. i have persued different avenues with toyota to correct issue since the problem stems from factory engineering. but to no avail. this was already an issue at time i purchased vehicle with 64,190 miles. however, i was not informed of any tsb nor received any notifications of problems. i have had car serviced approximately every 3,000 miles with motorcraft oil. it was not until 8-25-17 when i was asked to sign a disclaimer letting me know oil was off dipstick. when i checked previous records i found out the camry had been low on oil ( off stick) each time serviced. (my 1997 camry i owned prior to this 2007 never used any oil in between changes and it had 176,000 miles on it when i let it go). thus, after the 8-25-17 service and doing research i became aware of toyota's issues and thus began a fruitless battle with toyota. it seems that even though i began following up with toyota as soon as i became aware of issue 8-25-17 that my dofu was 6-27-07. due to no fault of my own i just missed the deadline. however, i believe wholeheartedly that this is their responsibility and that toyota should stand behind their product since it is an engineering problem.
Dashboard melting. sticky oozing every part of dash. glares onto windshield like a mirror and difficult to see out of windshield. cannot touch it w/o getting sticky.
I have been dealing with this sticky, cracking dashboard for 2 years now and it progressively gets worse each summer. it started out a little tacky when it had gotten hot from the summer heat and it has progressed to a sticky, gooey mess that cannot be properly cleaned. it reminds me of those old auburn colored fly strips we used to hang from the ceiling when we were kids. cracks started appearing last summer and now several more have appeared this summer. i was not notified of a recall and i just found it online this morning while searching for a cleaning solution. i plan on owning this vehicle for at least another 5 years and i fear the dashboard will be an absolute disaster by then.
The dash is sticky from the heat and is a known issue with toyota cars. reflection in dash is dangerous when driving.
My carmy has had the sticky dash problem for over a year and i finally did some research about it, only to find out that toyota had a warranty program that expired a month go, 31 may 2017. i called them up and they promptly refused to replace my dash. there are still many cars out there that were not fixed adn this problem can cause distracting glare during high heat. can anybody suggest a course of action? maybe potentially suing them to get them to repair more cars?
The instrument that show speed, rpm, gasoline, etc was going wary. the speed and the rpm go up and down, brake light come on, abs light come on, etc. i do not how fast i drive. this happened around every 5 mins, randomly and last for 1 mins sometimes 10 mins. the air conditioning stop working during this time. i checked online and i saw many people experience the same thing. this is a manufacturer problem, there is not relate issue with the way you drive, the way you do anything in the car. i used the card since new and the mileage currently only 103k+, for 9 years old car this is very low mileage.
My camry has check engine light on and oil needed to be changed once again in less than 3 months. toyota has a recall on oil burning up but they checked last time and said it's okay. evidently it's not. the mechanic recommended brake booster for the engine light issue which costs from $750-$1,200 which is hard to afford. this kind of issue can cost your life. toyota needs to recall this and fix it since so many other people have the same issue.
/c problems. the service guy stated the problem was not with work toyota did on the car. it has been one thing after another. i love my toyota. this is lousy service. i know it has been quite some time since all of this was done. i just have not felt up to voicing my complaint. unhappy with toyota service at herrin gear toyota in jackson, ms.
Abs and brake light comes on and off intermittently when the lights are on dashboard readers, speedometer, temperature gauge, jump and flickers and goes to zero doesnt matter how fast i am going, transmission gear light goes off does it on types of roads and conditions do does it stopping or going
Sunroof glass spontaneously shatter while in motion and driving under open air.
I have 2007 camry with a ticking noise coming from engine, but check engine light coming on. take it to dealer n tell them i couldnt read no codes because no check engine light. can hou guys hook up to your computer? service advisor said ok we'll take a look. when they're done, advisor told me we couldnt get no codes there's no check engine light, &charged me $159. 2 tell me what i originally told him. rip off.
Oil consumption: after 1149 mi, i checked my oil and there was barley any oil in the car. the car has 149,000 miles on it. the dealer said that using a qt. of oil every 1000 mi. was normal. they said it passed the recall which was tested at 1000 mi. they refused to fixed the problem.
In the front panel area, where the gear shifter is, there's a small compartment housing a switch with which i can manually press to put the car in reverse when the car won't do this by positioning the gear shifter into the reverse position by pulling it down.. my problem is, when i take it to be checked..there's nothing they can do if it's not happening at the time i bring it in, which is always the case as it happens intermittently, but never does it when i take it to the repair shop! this is frustrating and has caused problems in different ways. i hope someone takes notice of my problem while my extended warranty is still in effect so that i can get this fixed. thanks for your attention and the opportunity to express it. i never knew who to send a 'complaint' to. thanks again!
