Takata recall i purchased my truck in july 2015 from lithia chrysler jeep dodge ram of wasilla, alaska. when purchasing my truck the dealership knew that i needed to have the vehicle barged out to my location - i live in rural alaska and you must either fly or take a boat to get to my town. i got the truck barged to my town of king salmon, alaska just in time to find out about the recall. i contacted the dealership and they let me know that they would be training their mechanics on how to fix the problem and then would fly one of the mechanics out to my town come february 2016. i waited for an update and never got one. of course, all of this was over the phone where i was told that they would fix the problem and now a year and however many months after the recall i am being told by the dealership that they never said anything about flying someone out to king salmon to fix the issue. barging a vehicle costs $2500 one way and takes about three weeks and is only open during a certain season when our river isn't frozen. there is no way that i can barge my vehicle back to the dealer and then back to me without it costing me $5000 or so and losing my truck for two to three months. it is not reasonable and i should not be faulted when the dealership is the one that sold a faulty vehicle. winter can be rough on vehicles in alaska and road conditions can certainly be treacherous and i need to be able to rely on my vehicle to get me safely from on place to another. and in the event of an accident, i need to know that my safety won't be at jeopardy just because a dealership doesn't want to stand behind their product and their word. please help me to get this problem fixed, as talking with the dealership directly has gotten me nowhere. thank you for your time.
