Existing case #11308350 hissing sound in gas tank while on road in motion, on a city street, and a highway and turning and stationary, even noticed it when truck is turned off and sound will not turn off, killed one battery already, truck does not smell like gas. maybe electrical definitely should be recalled seems dangerous. may also add that driver seat is flat and ripped due to manufacture defect like most cars and trucks, common issue should be recalled thank you
Burning smell through vents
While driving at any speed my truck shuts off intermittently. figured out when key fob is bumped engine shuts off an loses power. noticed that they have the same problem on other vehicles with the same wireless ignition module but my truck isn"t included on the recall
Fuel pump stopped working . put in new pump still didn't work.put jumper from accessories to fuel pump worked fine.changed relay's same proplem.something wrong in electrical system. pulled up to the house and shut off motor .whent to restart and nothing.
Truck shuts off while driving. relay problem. had told get towed twice $165 each time. was going 50mph when truck lost all power in metairie louisiana on the causeway bridge 1st time. this can kill someone! this could have killed my family! i will never buy another dodge truck! chevy i will stick too! i know anything you buy can have a problem but when people complain about the same problems and nothing is done it's bad business! this is not some people are doing to dodge trucks this is something that is going on with the maker of this trucks! so is anybody gonna do something? will our trucks get fixed? i paid money to buy a truck that i keep up and do not have any other problems but the relay lose of all power while driving, now why and how is that? is a dodge truck suppose to do that? when buying my truck did anybody tell me this would happen? no! should i be responsible, no! this truck could kill people! i wasted my money on buying this truck. all these complaints and nobody cares. somebody needs to be responsible for lost of power. 2nd time lost power new orleans louisiana on a city street. truck sometimes just won't start after parking. this happened 6 times. i will not fix this truck! sometimes fuel pump won't even shut off it keeps running. lost power 11/04/19 first time getting it towed. lost power again 12/18/19
While driving the vehicle on the highway, it lost power and shut off. had it towed to a mechanic and they said my valves, lifters, and camshaft were damaged. the truck only has 110,000 miles on it. when the truck lost power, it would have caused an accident, lucky though i was able to pull over in enough time, before another vehicle could hit me. this seems to be a common thing, with these trucks, the mechanic can't replace the pieces because of out of stock, so he wants to replace the whole engine. this issue needs to be investigated, before someone does get into an accident.

I started to have trouble with the truck as it would not start in the mornings when i was trying to go to work. i replaced the fuel pump and it did not solve the problem. shortly after that, my battery would be dead most mornings. i replaced the battery, but still the problems continued. the truck started to lose power while i was driving so i took it to a mechanic. he told me that the tipm was faulty and needed to be replaced. i had to take it to the dealership i purchased it from to have it fixed. i have driven the truck less that 7000 miles since i purchased it. after speaking with fca, they say that they won't do anything to help out because the truck is out of warranty. i want to know why a recall was never put in place and enacted because i have seen thousands of complaints from people having the same problems. i would like to know why i'm having to pay $1794.03 out of pocket for the faults of the manufacturer pf the vehicle.
As i was driving about 40 mph, and approaching the curves on the road ahead of me, i lost control of my vehicle because i had no power steering, gas, or brakes. all gauges dropped to 0 and i had to coast to be able to stop. had i made it to the curves, by vehicle would of crashed off the side of road. apparently the pcm went bad. this is not a part that should ever go bad. this part malfunction could of killed me or someone else. nonetheless it was also $1303, towing fees, and 5 days of car rental. this is absolutely unacceptable and i don't want this to happen to another driver. there should be a recall of this part. i now have a fear when i drive the truck i have always loved.
On my 2012 dodge ram 1500 the nation switch is loose and shuts off all me while i'm driving on the freeway and sometimes doesn't want to start the vehicle
Engine starts intermittently. eng. completely shuts down while in motion. (twice). will restart in neutral while moving. i know there is a recall on the ignition switch, win module. dealer says my truck vin. does not apply and will charge me $980.00 to fix. if there is a federal safety recall, shouldn't that include all affected vehicles? bought the vehicle in oct. 2018 with 66k+ miles on it. 70k+ on now. first time my was daughter driving my g-daughter to school on roseville city street. second time on i-94 doing 65 with cruise control on and 16 mile in clinton twp. mich. i don't have the recall number but my son- in - law is a master mechanic and told me about it. thank you!
Fuel pump relay faulty which could of caused accident.inferior design that was not included in a recall that some other vehicles by same manufacturer were.no easy permanent fix except taking to dealer for 90.00 bypass kit or a 1000.00 tipm unit.thankfully vehicle was parked when failed.
Key fob stuck in ignition, unable to put vehicle in park. parking brake must be applied to keep vehicle from rolling.
Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ram 1500. while making a right turn, the vehicle stalled without warning. the contact powered off the engine while in traffic. the vehicle was restarted and was able to drive normally. on another occasion, the vehicle failed to start and a clicking noise was heard. also, the message "no fuse" appeared. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the dealer and manufacturer were contacted, could not duplicate problem. they said it is the tipm computer. second incident occurred exactly the same as 1st incident (took to mechanic) told him truck stalled again making right turn at light, almost hit another car. the approximate failure mileage was 76,000. *dt*jb *tt consumer stated codes indicate major computer issues. replaced battery, alternator maintenance to fuel tank, etc. vehicle dies while driving. dealer wants to replace fuel pump and computer tipm.*jb

Truck will randomly shut off, losing all power. it has happened while driving and while in park. when it happens during driving it has happened at all speeds. all power including lights and power steering is lost. must turn ignition off and restart engine. has became a major safety issue while on the road. have taken it to a dealership that it was bought from but they could not pin point problem since it randomly happens
There has been a recall on the durango and jeep cherokee with same relay in the fuse box (tipm) my fuel pump continues to run after truck is shut off creating a fire hazard. there are websites dedicated and making money on fixing this known problem. please look further into it. and feel free to contact me if need be.
Win moduel(wireless ignition node module) vehicle has 90,000 miles. when key is inserted into ignition and turned to the start position the win module fails to make a circuit internally and will not crank the vehicle. the faulty connections inside will also move while vehicle is in motion causing the vehicle to shut off at sometimes a high rate of speed. resulting in loss of brakes,steering, lights, etc. serious injury or death may occur because of this issue. my personal vehicle has done this repeatedly while in motion and also when starting. the latest occurrence being last night when driving 60mph down a rule stae hi-way we lost complete power!!! no head lights, no engine, no power breaks, no power steering, everything was dead. this was very scary!!! was able to come to a stop in the middle of the hi-way and turn off the key and everything powered back up. this could have ended a lot worse!!! this is a known problem with other chrysler models and should be recalled on this one also.
Takata recall have a problem with the ignition module on my ram 1500 2012 will start sometimes when it wants to and going down the road i hit a bump truck looses complete power. it is very dangerous going 60 miles a hour down the road and lose of all power no control of the truck whatsoever, especially at night coming around a curve and hit a bump lights turn off no power steering to the truck could have been killed very dangerous situation i think needs to be addressed before i do end up dieing for a simple recall on all the truck and cars that have the same problem and there are plenty of people with the same problem needs to be addressed before something bad happenes thank you

Instrument cluster lights flicker when stationary and in motion.
Occasionally when decelerating engine shuts off causing loss of power steering. has happened multiple times (3) over past year when on board cpu started causing single headlight to stop functioning. there are no traditional fuses for lights.
Vehicle would stall/die while driving. after being towed to a shop, it was found to have a failed tipm. this failure occurred at 61k miles and is a huge safety concern. the vehicle would stall/die without notice. numerous times the vehicle was in an intersection when the light turned red, quit and was hard to restart. vehicle would also stall when on the highway in traffic, again, without any warning. the fix was approx $1,200 + tow bill (vehicle was stuck in 4th gear after stalling several times).
Cool air blows on drivers side and warm air blows on passenger side. heater does not get hot. just barely warm on the passenger side.
Vehicle fails to start in the morning. once it is started, it runs fine. it will restart if not left more that 4 hours. it is parked in a garage at night and the temprature never gets below freezing.

Totally integrated power module (tipm) failure in 2012 dodge ram 1500
Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ram 1500. while driving 20 mph, the vehicle accelerated without warning. the contact stated that the check engine and electronic throttle control (lightning bolt warning symbol) indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. simultaneously, the vehicle accelerated rapidly. the contact depressed the brake pedal to stop the vehicle. sterling heights chrysler jeep dodge ram (40111 van dyke avenue, sterling heights, michigan 48310, (586) 939-3900) was made aware of the failures and stated that the accelerator pedal assembly needed to be replaced and that an electrical failure occurred. the accelerator pedal assembly was replaced, but the failure recurred. the manufacturer was made aware of the failures. the failure mileage was approximately 91,000. the vin was not available.

While driving in town or on the freeway the truck will turn off completely. radio stays on lights flicker but you loose all power and ability to turn or brake. this happened in town going 25 mph and also on the freeway going 75 mph. when it happens you must put the truck into neutral and restart the engine and pray it starts because you loose the ability to control the vehicular movements once the steering locks up. once started it usually goes for awhile but the other day while on the freeway it happened 3 times. once while accelerating up a hill surrounded by cars and semi trucks. this is a major concern because by loosing electrical function and power to a car/truck could cause a major accident. i am taking it in to get it fixed i hope soon but this is a manufactured defect in the ignition or key that could result in major injury or death.
Tipm computer issues. fuel pump not shutting off dur to relay sticking inside the tipm. random engine shutdown in traffic. abs system inactive due to electrical issues inside the tipm. engine codes from options not installed in the truck from factory. tipm not recognizing key in ignition (cannot start with key. only by remote) brake failure due to abs module not getting signal from tipm.
Vehicle engine intermittently shuts down / powers off when slowing down. this has happened numerous times and the issue seems to be getting worse even after repairs. this is a major safety hazard and could cause serious injuries. 4/16/18 engine died 3 times on the way home from picking up my daughter from school, 5/1/18 driving on fm 2100 going approx 45 mph vihle comptely shut off at the intersection of fm 2100 & foley rd, was almost rear ended. 5/23/18 slowing down to turn on a 2 way street taking my daughter to school my engine shut off and i almost hit a vehicle head on with my kids in my truck. this tipm has been replaced, floor board gets extremely hot at times, fuel pump & external relay, issues with starting and dieing since approx. nov 2017.
I'm one of the few owners of a ram 1500 with a common problem. the fuel pump relay. it has become a constant problem with ram owners like myself. first it seems as if your fuel pump had gone out and your truck will not start. after contacting mechanics and paying around $900to replace it the problem stills exist. then after sonorous attempts to find out what the problem is it's the relay that ram dealers know all about. it cost around a$1000 or more to have it repaired. i've contacted them and made them aware of the problem that myself and others are experiencing and they say there's nothing they can do they will not recall the problem they know your going to have prior to purchasing the truck. please help us to resolve this ongoing issue. thankyou.
2012 dodge ram 1500 express 2wd / 2 door truck. on march 21, 2018 at 9:00 am, i had a fire in the center of my steering wheel by my airbag. i took the truck to the dealer and they told me that my entire electrical wire harness caught on fire for no apparent reason. i called my insurance company and they told me they will only cover normal wear and tear. i believe this is a assembly and manufacturing issue with these vehicles now made in mexico by inexperience and incompetent people working at chryslers new manufacturing plant for cheap foreign slave labor in mexico. the entire wire harness from my steering wheel all the way to my engine through the fire wall needs to be replaced now costing me well over $2200.00. the main wire harness is now a lot thinner wires and not protected from coming into heat or contact and weather conditions in the engine area. my main electrical wire harness in my truck caught on fire on me on wednesday march 21, 2018 at 9:00 am. i just wanted to report this issue to you.
Passenger side high and low beam headlights will go out at any time. was told the problem is the tcim. major safety issue if they go out when driving down the road in the dark. it is my understanding that the tcim is very expensive and may only solve the problem temporarily.

The wireless ignition module is defective. (ignition). while driving if you hit a bump the truck turns off. your power steering power brakes all turn off at any speed. if you turn the key and hold it in with slight pressure it is fine
Mfg recall # t79 and nhtsa # 17v-821 also third rear cab brake light is leaking into the cab which can leak into airbags, may cause a malfunction due to corrosion.
Engine stalls intermittently on initial start attempt and during low speed going through intersections & accelerating on interstate entrance ramps. immediate loss of driving control with limited brakes and manual steering to avoid traffic. placing vehicle in park and ignition key to off vehicle woud restart. ram dealership recommended replacing win module and i have had no reoccurences since, (45 days). their is no recall out for this make and model but it has been noted as a part failure on other chrysler vehicles. this is a real safety hazard as driving is difficult requiring above normal arm strength to get vehicle off the road. i have contacted chryler customer care and awaiting their response.

Front windows, mirrors and door locks work intermittently. the window, and mirror issues occur when the vehicle is in motion. the door lock issues occur when the vehicle is stationary.

Truck turns off while driving dealer said it would be problems with tipm
When i turned on the hi beams (vehicle was stationary), the headlights flickered, all the dash light cut in and out, all the warning lights lit up, and the door ajar/lights on warning bells went off. i dimmed the headlights and it stopped. the dealer first said the alternator was bad, and it was only charging at 12 volts, so they replaced it, but that didn't solve the problem. then they said it was the tipm. 17 days and $1351 later, i have my truck back.

While driving my 2012 ram 1500 my truck seemed to lag going up hill from about 10mph up till about 40 or so. looked down at the dash and noticed that the truck was showing that it was in 4th gear. tried using the steptronic shifter to put into a lower gear and it would not switch. pulled off into a parking lot and turned off my truck and waited a bit and then turned back on again. shifted into reverse with no issue but drive was still showing 4th gear.
Driving make a turn and it just turns off and the steering locks ! turn back on when in neutral are park. and start up and may not do it for a week and do it again.
