Recently reported POWER TRAIN problems on 2012 Nissan Versa

When i was buying this car from mcculskey used i questioned the transmission. asked that they put this in writing. they refused and stated that it was fine. the transmission at the time was a dead spot where trans did not shift. as time has passed, the transmission has progressively gotten worse until i could not take it. the transmission at 25 mph and 45 mph went in to seizures. almost like a new driver of a standard shift. then the power would shut down while driving. i took it to the dealer service. because they would know better than anyone. how ever they were unable to find anything wrong with my transmission. they were able to fix the power problem. no recalls available. while researching my car i found that 2007-2010 trans have been recalled. i spoke to nissan company to make a complaint. there was nothing they could do for me. recently the ps light is coming on. the power stearing is out when the light is on. when you shut the car off and turn it back on the power stearing works until the light returns. the car is now almost not able to drive due to the trans. i only have 84,000 miles on this car. it is only 4 years only. i need someone to help.

June 4, 2016, while driving along 118 e freeway i am seeing that my rpm is going up and down and the car is jerking speed. i merged to 405 s in about 5 mins. i was getting off 405 s freeway from ramp. then travelling north along haskell ave, my 2012 nissan versa just stopped making a rattling noise in transmission. all the cars behind me just stopped. i slowly eased the car to the side of the street. turned off the engine thinking that i'm done. after sitting for 2 minutes i tried turning it on again because i have to pick up my son waiting at lax flywaway along gloria street. mysteriously the car started to move forward again. i picked up my son and drove slowly to simi valley ca still with my rpm going up and down at times. we arrived at home in simi valley, ca ok. we stopped using the car for a week until i have it checked by nissan dealer on june 14, 2016. they said they did not see anything wrong upon testing. i had them service the cvt transmission. i took the car back from the dealer 06/15/2016. on 6/20/2016, while driving to church, we experienced the same problem where the transmission stalled. same as before, rpm at 0 and we have stop the car and slowly pushed the pedal again and it engaged until we parked at the parking lot. coming home from church, we have no problem. my wife reported the same problem the day before. it seems that nissan knows this transmission problem because of several complaints from car owners. see this link: http://www.carcomplaints.com/nissan/versa/2012/transmission/transmission_failure.shtml

i would like to report that i purchased a nissan versa on april 5, 2015. the night i drove it home i noticed a few problems: first: the seat belt light stays on unless both front seats are buckled even if the drive is the only person in the vehicle. this is cause for the vehicle to not pass state inspection and the dealership i bought it from is telling me they took the car to two different nissan dealerships and this is proper function for the nissan versa. the mechanic from the inspection station and i each called nissan dealerships as well and each of the dealerships we spoke with said this is in fact incorrect and needs to be fixed. second: the car is not accelerating or shifting (atleast that is how i described it). i tried to merge into traffic and rpm's moved way up but the car hesitated to move forward once it started to move i had to put on the brakes because traffic was too close. i drove it to west virginia with my young sons in tow and it could not keep up with the flow of traffic and continued to get worse the longer we were on the road or on an incline. the speed limit was 70 mph on interstate 70 and it took a long time to get up to speed. when there was an incline (we were in the mountains) the rpm's would go up to 4,000- 4,500 but the car would stay at 60 mph and lose speed. the dealership called me and was very condescending letting me know they could find no problems with the car. they will not even fix the seat belt warning light even though i can not get my hard tags for the car.

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 nissan versa. the contact stated that the gear shifter was able to be moved without having the brake depressed. the failure occurred without warning. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the gear shifter was able to be moved without the brake being applied. the vehicle was not repaired. the contact referenced nhtsa campaign number: 12v032000 (power train); however, the vin was not inlcuded. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 57,600. *js

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 nissan versa. after driving approximately 8 mph, the vehicle would not operate forward. the contact stated that the reverse functioned properly. the contact was able to reverse in a parking structure. the failure occurred without warning. the vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the vehicle needed a new transmission. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 108,000.

I was driving and while the vehicle was in motion i inadvertently bumped into my gear shifter handle and my car shifted into reverse without the break being depressed or applied. i almost had an car crash/accident with the person directly behind me. in march of 2016 i contacted nissan north america, inc. about this issue but they are not acknowledging that this is a safety defect. my car has aprroxametly 57,470 miles as of 03/30/2016 and nissan north america is refusing to repair this dangerous defect free of charge because my vehicle was not on any nissan or nhsta campaign recall lists. the referenced nhsta campaign recall id number associated with my vehicle issue is id: 12v032000 voluntary safety recall campaign 2012 versa sedan shift selector campaign id: pm253 applied vehicles 2012 versa(n17) applied transmission cvt

Hesitation going up any incline. just started when it hit 60000. warranty only for 50000. looks like nissan built it to just get by then over 50000 you are out big time. my big issue is i had to trade car with my daughter who drove this. almost had 2 accidents in a week because of heavy traffic. stay away from this for safety issues. accident waiting to happen.

Driving on i-5 north of san diego and car will no longer accelerate, rpm going into red but no acceleration. car slowed to 40's then 30's then stopped altogether. had to be towed. clearly a common issue with this model. i gave this car to my daughter because i thought it was safe and reliable.

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 nissan versa. the contact stated that while driving at 50 mph, the transmission hesitated between shifting and the engine rpms revved. the transmission would shift gears violently causing the vehicle to jerk. the contact mentioned that the failure was getting progressively worst. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 68,000.

I was in the middle of in intersection, making a left turn, and the car would not move forward. i was able to go in reverse and backed it up into a parking lot

The car has a cvt transmission. transmission slips and over heats. took it to 3 transmission shops all 3 say it unrepairable.was also to cvt transmission will be discontinued and they all in time will over heat and cheaply made and a transmission should not go out but a cvt is a defect and can cause an accident and should be recalled and no errors was caused by me and cvt transmission is no good have contact nessin and they refuse to replace. there are many complaints on the cvt transmission on-line

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 nissan versa. while driving approximately 20 mph, the vehicle hesitated when attempting to accelerate. the contact made three attempts to accelerate, but was unsuccessful. the vehicle stalled and was towed to a certified mechanic who stated that the transmission failed and needed to be replaced. the dealer stated that the vehicle was no longer covered under the warranty. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to take the vehicle to the dealer. the contact took the vehicle to the dealer who confirmed the transmission failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 80,000.

I bought the 2012 versa new and now that it has around 70000 the transmission is going out. i took me versa in to the dealership to get a oil change and not even two weeks later the car started to die when first start and when you do get up and go it is not smooth. took the car to dealership and they told me that my transmission (transaxle) is going out. $3800 quote and i just bought it in july of 2012. oil change 1/19/2016. told transmission was bad on 2/5/2016.

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 nissan versa. while the vehicle was in drive, the power door locks unlocked. also, the gears independently shifted out of drive, reverse, and neutral without warning. the contact stated that there were three manufacturer recalls that needed to be performed, but the dealer indicated that the parts may not be available until mid spring of 2018. the dealer (mcgavock nissan wichita, 10625 e kellogg dr, wichita, ks 67207, (316) 681-6900) was notified several times and had not diagnosed the failures. the manufacturer was notified of the failures. the recall details and failure mileage were not available. updated 12/13/2017 *ln the consumer stated the air bag light illuminated, the radio would change on it's own, and the navigation system operates on it's own as well as gives incorrect directions. the vehicle lunged into another vehicle after inadvertently jumping into drive. *js

While accelerating from a stop at an intersection the vehicles would not move. you press the pedal and it does not throttle up or move at all leaving us exposed to traffic. after the car sat for 1 hour we were able to drive it but then the rpm began to fluctuate between 2000 and 4000 rpm and you could feel the vehicle speed up and slow down without any movement of the throttle. this occurred multiple times so we took it to a shop. the diagnosed this as a bad transmission which they stated was common on for this type of cvt transmission. i reviewed the transmission and complaints associated with the nissan cvt built by jatco and quality issues exist. nissan extended the warranties on the 2010 models when the 2012 through 2015 models are having the same issues and failures potentially leaving you stranded or worse in the middle of an intersection about to get whacked by a semi. nissan refused to anything about this issue stating that there is no issue. the only problem with that logic is mr. ghosn, ceo nna, state in december 2013 that jatco had significant issues with their quality of product. a product that can leave you or your children in a bad way trying to navigate traffic. so my point to all of this, nissan is well aware of the issues with their cvt transmission but refuse to make it right

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 nissan versa. the contact stated that when the ignition was turned to the on position, the driver side air bag warning indicator illuminated. the failure recurred continuously. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the air bag module failed and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 70,000. the vin was unavailable. updated 05/11/16*lj the consumer stated the air bag failed at 20,000, the transmission was replaced at 32,000 and the wiper motor was replaced at 50,000. updated 05/17/16.*jb

Cvt belt slipping cvt transmission needs replaced. car has 66852 miles on it just 6852 miles over warranty and transmission needs replaced. did research and this problem is continuously occurs with nissan versaso andnissa refusing to fix the issue

I got in the car and drove to the store. when i tryed to leave the car would not move, the engine wined but it did not ingage the trans. i was at a stop in a parking lot thank god, but we just drove back from a long trip yesterday. they say my vin is not part of the recall.

I had the 60,000 service done on this car at my local nissan dealership on dec 14, 2015. part of that service involved inspecting the continuously variable transmission fluid. apparently it was ok. six days later my daughter was driving it to new orleans and it stopped in the middle of the interstate. luckily, nobody was close behind her and she was able to drift it to the side of the highway. we had it towed to a new orleans area dealer and are being told that the transmission needs to be replaced at a cost of $3900. we were also told that the car is out of warranty and nissan would not help with the repair. this is a 4 year old car with 65,000 miles on it. a quick search of the internet shows several people also having transmission failures at about that same mileage. several have had the car stop in the middle of the highway just like mine did.

I took the car for a recall on the transmission and two months latter the check engine light came on. the car when driving 60 mph will just decreases in speed until it stops the engine is running. i took it to the dealer ship and was told the speed sensor inside the transmission was bad. to fix the problem the transmission must be replaced. the car has 78, 987 miles on it, i was looking on line and found many complaints about the cvt transmission used by nissan. most complaints said after the dealer repaired the recall on the transmission it failed. what is the process of filing a class action law suit against nissan motor corporation?

12/18/2015 driving the 2012 nissan versa sv on i-380 to us 101 during traffic hours. the car is at normal operating temperature. the car was going uphill, stepped on gas pedal, the rpm will no goes up neither the car move. the rpm will goes up in p or n only. auto shop told me, when transmission gets hot. it will be not functioning correctly. really happened to the car on the incident day, the car shift slow and vibrate a a lot. at higher speed with cruise control on or stable speed the rpm will goes from 2000-5000 up and down there is no any check light on the car. it was scary and dangerous.

Transmission recall but nothing sent to tell us telling us that there was a recall. we were told it is our responsibility to call them. while driving at 60 mph with children in the car the car just stopped going forward and started to coast to a stop. luckily we were able to pull to the side of the road before being tail ended and possibly killed. after taking the car to the dealer we were told all was ok but when leaving it was apparent the problem still was there after we drove some distance. took the car back in a couple days and then we were told it would cost 4200 to repair because it was not part of the recall and there were to many miles on the car. traded the car in at an enterprise after telling them about our trouble; they looked up the vin # and said it wasn't repaired as the recall required. lost a substantial amount of money but was much more concerned with the potential for a deadly accident.

Car squeakes when going over speed bumps or uneven road. have already had transmission replaced and check engine light came on 4 different times for the mass air flow. my car has only 57,340 miles on it. when their was recall for the transmission, my car vin was not included in the recall but, ended up having to be replaced.???????

The car dosent accelarate properly trans feels like it slips axles make noise after being checked and gas smell tje car turn off wjen running my tire popped after being checked

Upon pulling out of driveway onto busy highway rpm needle goes crazy when speed reaches 30 kph and when pressing on accelerator power is loss. scared to drive car and i am a home health nurse so have no choice. a semi slammed on brakes to keep from hitting me from behind and was able to pull off road cause i was going down a hill.

Pre owned vehicle has a failed transmission shift assembly (power train) which was not addressed properly during the recall repair done prior to current owner taking possession of the vehicle.nissan now states that the "campaign is closed out and nothing can be done on this" however., they did offer$250 for the consumers" inconvenience." which was strange since..why would they do this if it is not an issue?and did say that the vehicle should be covered under power train 5 yrs(60000) and referred me to consumer affairs. also strange. after reading your website, i decided to report this directly to you as they are now technically non-compliant on this government recall as they refuse to address the appropriate repair. nissan is trying to "write this off" as a closed campaign as the shift knob was replaced prior to current owner taking possession(2012); even though a new independent dealer , not involved in original recall work;has recently stated that consumer should seek assistance under this recall from nissan and that the car absolutely needs the shift assembly. your website states that the knob and assembly should be replaced under this campaign( recall 12v032000)nissan is refusing to cover this assembly (estimate attached)which was part of the original recall. automatic shifter is currently unable to go into park. and is being parked in neutral which poses a significant safety risk. nissan corporate consumer affairs was very "shady" about telling me "who i was speaking with, where they are located, operator id,name of rep, or any identifying information while speaking with the regional customer service person on the phone.the only information i was given was p3c as their "area" in franklin tn. please advise or direct to contact in the nissan recall area any assistance/direction with this issue would be greatly appreciated. thank you *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 nissan versa. the contact stated that the vehicle hesitated while on an incline and randomly while driving on a roadway. the contact also mentioned that the transmission was slow to change gears between first and third gears. the contact had to constantly check the gears to ensure they were changed over. the service engine warning light also randomly illuminated. the vehicle was taken to a repair shop and the mechanic stated that there was a cvt transmission failure advised the contact to take the vehicle to a dealer for diagnostic testing. the contact was also experiencing a failure in which the distance between the accelerator pedal and brake pedal was causing his foot to become trapped between the two pedals. the contact had to maneuver his feet with the pedals to prevent a failure. the contact was not notified, but the vin was included in nhtsa campaign number: 15v507000 (service brakes, hydraulic, vehicle speed control). the vehicle was taken to the dealer who stated that the transmission needed to be replaced. the dealer was to further diagnose the vehicle. the manufacturer was notified of the failures. the approximate failure mileage was 106,000. updated 01/20/16*lj *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 nissan versa. after putting the transmission into park, the vehicle continued to roll forward. the failure occurred after the remedy for nhtsa campaign number: 12v03200 (power train) was performed. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 72,400.

I bought a 2012 nissan versa in 2012 brand new. i bought this car because of nissans reliability and the car got great gas mileage. i had regular maintenance and service, but not at the dealership. in late september 2015 when the car had about 70,000 miles on it it started randomly jerking when driving. i took it in to the dealership and they told me the transmission had went out and it would cost me $3,500 for a new transmission with a 1 year warranty. the versa has a cvt transmission and they said the fluid should have been changed at 60,000 miles and probably got to hot and broke down. the warranty was for 5 years or 60,000 miles. here are my issues: i was never told when i purchased the car that the cvt transmission fluid needs changed every 60,000 miles. i was told after the transmission was ruined that it should be. i had the car in the dealership at 63,000 for a recall and no one mentioned it. i have driven for 25 years and never had to change transmission fluid in prior vehicles the car never had any kind of warning light to let me know there was a problem and i took it in almost immediately after this started happening. i found out that the cvt transmission is a known issues and in 2010 they were covered by a 6 year 120,000 miles warranty meaning someone who has a car 2 years older than mine still has a warranty. i drove this care every mile myself and i drove it like a 90 year old man. in the end i had to spend $4,004 on a new transmission on a 3 year old car. i made 2 cases to nissan and a regional manager called me and said there is nothing nissan can do. to me there is no logical explanation why the transmission went out, why there is no system that would let me know there is a problem before it is ruined, and why i was never informed that the fluid should be changed.

Our versa will not accelerate, at random intervals, when we are stopped at a stop light. when i called nissan mortor company north america, they ackowledged that they were aware that one or more parts used in the cvt transmission were known to be defective. yet, they would not replace, repair, or even assist with repairing our versa. i am afraid that we may one day be hit from behind as we attempt to accelerate from a stop light. this actually almost occurred on two separate occasions.

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 nissan versa. while accelerating from a stop, the vehicle hesitated to accelerate. the failure recurred multiple times. while driving at approximately 35 mph, the gear shifter shifted from drive to neutral independently. the failure recurred multiple times. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 76,000.

My husband was driving home from work in our 2012 nissan versa. he was on the highway traveling through a construction zone at approximately 55 mph when the car suddenly cut out on him. he pumped the gas pedal but the car would not accelerate over 20 mph. he pulled the car off at the closest exit. it was towed to a nissan dealership where it was evaluated. we were notfied that a total transmission replacement was necessary. i contacted nissan and was informed that nissan took no responsibility for the transmission failure because the warranty had expired. however, in the scheduled maintenance provided in the owner's manual the first transmission related maintenance does not occur until 60,000 when they recommend checking the transmission fluid. nissan claims they have no way of verifying that vehicle maintenance was completed because we did not have the maintenance completed at a nissan dealership. i offered to provide our records of maintenance from our provider but nissan was not interested in seeing them. i spoke to three different nissan assist representatives. finally, i was informed by the last representative that there was no one else to which i could petition my case. in summary, if you have a nissan versa you should expect to replace your entire transmission when the vehicle is three years old. in the past, nissan has extended warranty coverage on versa model years 2003-2010 for issues with the transmission. i think a manufacturer's defect still exists in their transmissions. i think this defect was the cause of our total transmission failure. i just hope that no one is killed when their transmission fails them in the middle of rush hour.

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 nissan versa. while driving at 60 mph, the vehicle speed shifter failed to go into second and third gear. the contact also stated that the vehicle would shake when coming to a stop light and made a loud knocking noise when it was in reverse. the failure recurred numerous times. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 12v032000 (power train). the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 69,108.

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 nissan versa. while driving down a busy road at 20 mph, the vehicle experienced a loss of power. the vehicle could drive in reverse, but could not function in drive. the vehicle had to be towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission malfunctioned. the vehicle was repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 63,000.

My car has a little over 56,000 miles on it and since having this car i have had several issues with this car. i have taken it to the dealer for repair of the mass air flow and related components on 3 separate occasions. i have had 1 cvt transmission replacement and knows seems like something is going on with the suspension. after doing research, i have found several complaints and a service bulletin for this same issues which is sasid to be the spring coils. this is ridiculous to have this many issues with a car that is only 3 years old and less than 60,000 miles on it. nissan needs to offer every customers that owns this car a replacement car.seriously!!! not to mention all the other recalls that never get associated with your vin but, still has the issues.

My car will not move when the gas is pressed, it stutters and vibrates then jerks. the transmission catches then rpm hit 7500 very unsafe. this happens every time i stop and go. took it to nissan they said that they could not replicate the problem therefore could not fix it. this is ( bs ) cause it happens all the time. also when i turn my steering wheel i feel something moving and hear popping noise on the driver side floor board. *tr

I bought my car brand new with 18 miles on it. at approximately 25k i was doing a fluid check on my vehicle because while driving the car stutter while accelerating. when i popped the hood open i noticed the my coolant reservoir tank was bone dry. i found some coolant in my garage and immediately added it to the reservoir to get it down to the dealership with no issue. the following day i brought it into the dealership and was trying to explain my situation. the service tech looked at the car and kept saying that the tank was full and there was nothing wrong with it even though i explained that i added some to get it there. they finally took my car back and had it for 2 days. when i came down to pick it up that said they couldn't find anything wrong with it. they said they pressure tested the cooling system and found no leeks and told me i was imaging thing as far as the stutter with my tranny. at approximately 32k again i was low (1/4 full) on coolant and the stutter stilled happened intermittingly. again i took it down to the dealership. they had it for about 2 days and when i got it back they told me the same thing. at approx. 38k the stuttering had gotten worse and there would be times that id press the accelerator and nothing would happen for about 5-10 seconds. i took it back to the dealership for the tranny only this time. and they told me with out the check engine light coming on there was nothing they could do for my car even though it was under warranty. i have almost been in a coupe accidents because the tranny would not respond while pressing the accelerator.

Transmission had to be replaced for $4,500 for a 12 month/12,000 mile warranty. *tr

Purchased new from nissan dealer. 35 months later, just around 40,000 miles, notice jerky movements forward and backwards at freeway at approx 60mph. took to dealer service dept and nothing found. happening more frequently and at lower speeds too. returned 8 weeks later and was told it was the cvt transmission. was told replaced by new one. 4 days later car started but would not move forward. had to have towed and was told the new transmission needed replacing again. both repairs covered under warranty. concerned this may happen again and be dangerous on freeway or be right after warranty is over and be costly. read lots of problems with cvt transmissions. this car is not driven in harsh conditions or stop and go traffic so very concerning.

2012 nissan versa sv 4 door sedan with cvt transmission. vehicle is jerking when trying to accelerate over 65 mph. rpm gauge will bounce from 3000-4000 while the vehicle is shuddering. this vehicle has had many complaints about the cvt transmission since 2007 and nissan still has not done anything to resolve the problem. a recall should be issued since this is a very dangerous situation on the highway when the transmission will finally breakdown. i hope that this can be fixed and nissan will own up to the bad workmanship on the transmission. i will continue to post as the transmission gets worse. thank you! *tr

The transmission completely went out of the car. it would slow down, i had to stop, turn it off, wait, turn it back on, drive a little bit, repeat. this is a known issue with this car and the cvt transmission systems, yet no recall has been issued to date. when you buy a new car, the known issues aren't out yet because there hasn't been time enough to gather any statistics. the dealership nor nissan corporation was willing to assist us. we provided service records and they deemed them 'insufficient' because the service was not performed through nissan. however, it is not mandated that oil changes and tire rotations be completed at their site. they also stated that the oil put into the car might not be made for a nissan vehicle. this is the first time in my life i've ever heard of an oil being made for a specific brand of car. the transmission wasn't due to be serviced until between 60,000 and 70,000 miles, and we had just turned 60,000 the week before. plus, engine oil has nothing to do with a transmission, it has to do with the engine. we are still making payments on the car. if we pay out of pocket for the repairs, and add to what we still owe, now the car costs more than what we bought it for brand new. i've done quite a bit of research and have found many other customers with these same issues. thank you for your attention to this matter. *tr

When driving for about an hour, if you stop at a traffic control device, once you try to accelerate, the car will not move. even if you hold the gas pedal to the floor, the car will not go. once it does "catch", the rpm's hit about 7000 or 8000 and when you let off the pedal the car jerks hard and goes into "limp mode". it did this seventeen (17) times and 6 of them were on the interstate in heavy traffic. i almost got rear ended by a car coming up behind me because i couldn't move the car out of the road in time. i had to shut the car off, wait a few seconds and turn it back on to get it to move and even then it stayed in limp mode so i was stuck in first (1st) gear. this has happened every day until i finally took it into the shop and they said it was the transmission. coming from an aemt, this is a very dangerous situation and needs to be resolved with nissan and their cvt transmissions. *tr

Concerned with my transmission slipping out of gear...and malfunction of air bags. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2012 nissan versa. the contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would jerk and hesitated before losing acceleration. the vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed that the transmission was faulty and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the contact was made aware that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number 12v032000 (power train). the contact stated that the vehicle experienced the same failure listed in the recall. the failure mileage was 77,000.

While driving on the free way rpm began to rev extremely high about 5000, car began to jerk and lost speed while i was pressing on the gas. i had to immediately cross several lanes of heavy traffic to pull to a shoulder. this is continuing to happen and it has happened while driving in the fog where a sudden loss of power could have caused the semi truck behind me to collide with me. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 nissan versa. the contact stated that while driving at approximately 65 mph, the engine rpms decreased and the vehicle failed to accelerate. the vehicle was restarted and the failure recurred. the vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed that the transmission fluid mixed with the coolant in the transmission. as a result, the transmission and the radiator needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 71,000.

Cvt failed while driving ,stalled in middle of the road ,car would not move .floored the car ,barely moved ,had to pull over, car jerked . *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 nissan versa. while driving approximately 40 mph and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle shifted from drive to reverse. the failure recurred on multiple occasions. the vehicle was taken to a dealer who diagnosed that the transmission sensor failed. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 76,000.

I purchased a 2012 nissan versa from a private owner for my grandson to drive at college. a week after the purchase, my grandson was driving on i95 at 55 mph and the engine started to slow down. he tried to accelerate, the car continued to slow down while making a horrible sound like it was stuck between gears. he coasted to the nearest exit, pulled onto the shoulder and turned the car off. he restarted the car and was able to make it home. i took the car to a nissan dealer since it only had 18,000 miles and is under warranty. they were not able to duplicate the issue but did replace a "sensor". two weeks later it happened again and nissan again replaced a "sensor". the third time, my grandson was driving to the poconos and just made it to the lodge before the car shutdown completely. we had the car towed to the nearest dealer where it sits today. nissan is directing me to contact the district office. how many complaints do you need to get a recall? does someone need to die before nissan does the right thing? *tr
