Recently reported AIR BAGS problems on 2012 Nissan Versa

I received a recall card in the mail instructed me to take my car to nissan because of the airbag malfunction in the airbag which could cause death and the light continue to stay on i took my car there they never fixed it they said they did but it was never fixed i still have the same problem and as of today i'm still having the same problem i took my car they are in 2017 or 2018 when i got the card when i was instructed to take the car to the nissan dealership i did call that dealership back which was quite cooley in duncan ville texas the ones that was supposed to fix it i'll call the service center and they kept giving me the runaround i did report that it wasn't fixed nobody did anything as of today they still haven't done anything i'm still driving with my car with the recalls still on my car and i am very much concerned about it i just want my car fixed asap please this problem is still on going before i got the recall and after i got the recall and after they were supposed to have fixed it which they did not today's date is december 9, 2019

My car had a r1709 recall. this was to fix the airbags. i took it to my local nissan dealership to had the repair done. the waiting time i was told would be about 1 or 2 hours. it took about 5 hours and i was told it was because a new inexperienced mechanic was working on it. when i got my car back the lights telling me there is something wrong with the airbags were still blinking. i had no time to go back since they had just wasted all the time i had. the very next day i realized that now my car's horn doesn't work either. this was never a problem before. i called to tell them i believe they may have messed up the work they were supposed to do. they simply told me they did the work they had to and that if my car has additional issues it's not their problem. i even told them i find it hard to believe that all the car's airbags are failing at the same time and that now the horn doesn't make any sound right after i took it to get it fixed. i believe they did the wrong work on it which might explain why they took far longer than they were supposed to. they gave me no solution so i had to make a case with nissan corporate. the only solution i was given by corporate was to take it back to the same repair shop and they will check it, however i will be charged for this, unless they find it was their error. i think its pretty obvious what they are going to say, so there is no way i can take it back to the same place that possibly screwed up in the first place so they can charge me to tell me they did a fine job. what i need is someone to check my car to see if they did the job they were actually supposed to do and not get charged for it.

The car was in a low speed accident under 30 mph on the 14th street bridge in washington d.c. and the entire front of the cars was crushed. the other vehicle in the crash had minor damage to the rear consistent with the speed of the vehicles. also, the air bags deployed late, several seconds after the crash when the occupants were getting out of the vehicle when the vehicle was stationary.

Takata recall nissan dealership will not replace the drivers side airbag, it has replaced 2 airbags only. bags replaced are side airbag on drivers side, and front airbag for passenger. spoke to manager of 2 dealership but say those not replaced were not specified, therefore will not replace. also could not tell me if they were a different brand. said i would have to pay them to check the brand. why. would nissan use different brands on same car?

Tl* takata recall. the contact owns a 2012 nissan versa. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 18v401000 (air bags). the contact stated that the air bag indicator illuminated after the recall repair was performed. the contact took the vehicle to flow nissan of fayetteville (910-323-4400, located at 4559 raeford rd, fayetteville, nc 28304) , but the failure could not be duplicated. the failure did not recur. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the failure mileage was approximately 44,357.

Takata inflators won't be replaced because of prior owners rewiring airbag need harness replaced but nissan won't pay for it and haven't had luck with the car lot it was purchased.

Takata inflators, i received an email from nhtsa back in july 2018. exactly a few days later my airbag lights came on again. i haven't had time to take my car to nissan. i took it in today 2/16/19 and mcdavid nissan is telling me that my car doesn't have a recall. they won't fix it they want me to pay $800+ to repair it. i've already had to take my car here 2 other times for the same issue. when it had recalls for airbags. i'm guessing the recall isn't active so they're not seeing it. my car was parked in my garage next day the airbag lights came on.

Takata recall - air bag parts still listed as unavailable from original july 2017 recall

Takata recall we live on the coast was there is a lot of moist

The light on the board of the air bags turns on and off in red at all times when it is on. buy the car a distributor on march 31 and i made a withdrawal for a defect in the air bags nissan communicates with me for a replacement but it has not happened. i am very concerned about safety when using the vehicle.

Takata recall buy my auto used on march 31 of this year in a dealer. on the panel the light of the airbags on and off all the time the time. the seller indicated that i had a recall but nissan send me a letter explaining the recall and where i had to take to correct the problem. i have not received anything and the vin does not appear included in the recall for that model and year. on august 21 i recorded and filled the file to vehicle safety complaint but i have also received an answer. i am very concerned with this situation, that a mistake may occur and that afternoon to take action. i hope your response, thank you.

Tl* takata recall. the contact owns a 2012 nissan versa. the contact was not experiencing a failure until the vehicle was repaired per nhtsa campaign number: 17v449000 (air bags). bedford nissan (18115 rockside rd, bedford, oh 44146, (440) 336-8611) performed the repair and stated that the remedy failed to provide a permanent repair; therefore, the vehicle needed to be diagnosed to determine if a sensor was faulty. a loaner vehicle was provided when the air bag recall repair was performed. the contact later received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 18v401000 (air bags) and was waiting to determine the manufacturer guidelines to repair the vehicle. the manufacturer was contacted. the failure mileage was not available.

Pleace help nissan mo respond my call

I had my car serviced at david mcdavid nissan. i had it serviced in august 2017 for the airbags. then in december my airbag lights came on. both the driver and passenger lights are on. i took it back to the same dealership and they said there was another recall for the airbags. after a month of the dealership having my car the airbag lights are still on. they told me that the airbag lights being on had nothing to do with the recall

My auto is disabled. key doesn't turn, the wheels are locked up and noticed that there is hesitation when shifting made a nose. i can't drive my auto at all. i am still responsible for the payments on the vehicle. it doesn't seem like a regular wear and tear issue.

Steering column locked up key wouldn't unlock so i could drive. steering wheel just wouldn't unlock. had to have my car towed

Tl* takata recall. the contact owns a 2012 nissan versa. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 17v449000 (air bags); however, the part for the recall repair was unavailable. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the contact called jim bone nissan (1275 santa rosa avenue, santa rosa, ca 95404; 707-545-7050) and was informed that the parts should be available around april of 2018. the manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. the contact had not experienced a failure. parts distribution disconnect.

Takata recall - i contacted the local dealer and they said that nissan isn't providing a replacement airbag until at least march or april of 2018. my college student drives this car in florida where she goes to school it's humid in florida and the information i've read states humidity can cause the airbag to deploy. waiting for a replacement for 3-4 months isn't sufficient.

Takata recall

I received a recall notice for my 2012 nissan versa for a defective front driver air bag inflator. i found an authorized dealer through www.airbagrecall.com. i made an appointment at sheehy nissan/mechanics 6564 mechanicsville pike, mechanicsville (804) 417-1012. i brought my car in on monday december 4, 2017 and was told by the service manager that the airbag inflator replacement part would not be available until spring 2018. the front driver air bag inflator has not been replaced.

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 nissan versa. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 17v144000 (air bags); however, the parts to do the repair were unavailable. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the dealer (classic nissan of sanford, 3305 nc-87, sanford, nc 27332 (919) 775-2351) confirmed that the parts were not available. the manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. the contact had not experienced a failure. vin tool confirms parts not available.

1) the air bag lights flash on and off without warning and reason. they have not ever deployed (yet). vehicle is in motion when this happens. 2) my husband's right shoe often gets caught on the edge of the center console panel-making is difficult to move his foot to the brake. we have had two near missed when he was trying to hit the brakes. the vehicle is in motion and these incidences occur when we are trying to transition from accelerator to brake. 3) windshield-a small pebble hit the windshield and caused a little damage. we took it to get repaired (not replaced). it just recently cracked and now the whole windshield needs to be replaced. i have had a couple windshields repaired on other vehicles and have had not had problems. i have called a local nissan dealer to make an appointment to fix these issues. recall #"s 17v-144 15v-507

Takata recall i have tried calling the closest nissan dealership where i have taken my nissan versa before for a recall part, to make an appointment with them to replace the airbag and they keep sending me to different departments of the car dealership. i think i'm getting the run-around? instead of them telling me they don't have the part yet they seem like they are not going to honor replacing my airbag. thank you, melanie

Takata recall. i have received notices of this, but was told by the nissan dealer that they do not have the parts needed to fix the problem.

Takata recall i received the manufacturer recall dated march 6, 2017 for the airbags (nhtsa recall number 17v-144, manufacturer recall number r1709), but as of today, november 7, 2017, it still has not been repaired by nissan dealer, they keep saying that they don't have parts available.

Takata recall. my airbags have been recalled !! i am very concerned and toyota has no airbags available!!!

I was never notified of a recall on my vehicle (no. 15v-573) that was issued 09/10/15. it appears that it is still incomplete. how are they allowed to get away with not providing a remedy in a timely manner. and now another recall (no. 17v-449) says they don't even have a part to repair the defect (takata air bag inflator rupture). the first recall says the defect could result in damages that could result in a crash and the air bag deploying could result in death. what options are available when you can't trade in the car? also, i'm not allowed to take part in the class action because i haven't taken my vehicle to the dealership for repair yet (because i can't). now i'm very anxious every time i get behind the wheel of my car.

I am referring to chapter 11 case no. 17-11375(bls)

Tl* takata recall. the contact owns a 2012 nissan versa. the contact stated that the recall notice for nhtsa campaign number: 17v449000 (air bags) was received in november of 2017. after contacting the dealer (a unknown nissan dealer of turnersville new jersey) and the manufacturer on multiple occasions, the contact was informed that the parts needed for the recall remedy were still not available and no estimated time for receiving the parts could be provided. the contact had not experienced a failure. vin tool confirms parts not available.

Takata recall i'm not sure what is considered a "timely manner" for this repair. i received notice from nissan in august telling me to not call the local dealer and to wait for nissan to contact me when parts are available. today i get a legal notice in the mail regarding the takata chapter 11 bankruptcy hearings and told to contact a local dealership. edwards nissan of council bluffs, ia told me they will not have parts until at least early spring 2018 and they would put me on the list of people to contact when parts became available. i guess to me, that is not very timely. that is an "estimate" of when they "think" they can fix it. i'd also like to know if this recall is supposed to include just the driver side bag or if it is supposed to include the passenger side airbag. doesn't make sense to me to make me take it in twice if my vehicle has just not been released as searchable regarding the passenger bag.

Tamara recall. i called don williamson nissan here in jacksonville nc 28540.the guys said there is a recall but i will have to wait till i get a second notice next year in april 2018 to see when it will be able to be fixed. because they do not have the parts.

Takata recall i came in to my dealership today for an oil change. i was then told about the airbag inflator recall. i was not notified by mail in the 60 day time frame outlines on the nhtsa recall page(60 days from july 17). it's been 41 days past this mark. when told about it, i was told that the part wouldn't be available until mid-fall. the delay in notification and lack of available part leaves my wife driving an airbag that would operate like a shotgun blast to her face. this situation is unacceptable, and nissan has not responded appropriately.

Takata recall - received notification of airbag recall and am told that getting long term rental car is the best option as the "fix" is not available until spring 2018. this is not a good option however as you have to pay the long term rental insurance rate of over 11/day. that's more than 300/month! the consumer should not be responsible for costs such as these on a life and death safety recall. best scenario is that they just even trade all the cars for comparable safe vehicles as the passenger air bags were just recalled this year as well. obviously not a safe or well built vehicle. no help from either the dealer or nissan direct. they are unwilling to help in anyway and just say that the parts will be available next spring.

Tl* the contact owned a 2012 nissan versa. while the contact was accelerating from a stop, another vehicle crashed into the front driver's side of his vehicle. the air bags failed to deploy. the contact sustained arm, shoulder, and back injuries that required medical attention. the passenger also sustained neck, right shoulder, back, and arm injuries that required medical attention. a police report was not filed. the vehicle was towed to an auto body shop. the vehicle was not taken to a dealer. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the vehicle was destroyed. the vin was included in nhtsa campaign number: 17v449000 (air bags). the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 62,000.

The parts won't be made available for months. the nissan north america notice states that a complimentary loaner vehicle will be provided upon request. some dealerships honor this, other dealerships are not. getting a loaner vehicle for 6 months is very difficult! nissan north america needs to be more proactive in order to ensure safety by informing their sites to offer loaners and making loaners available. i was told to keep driving my car as there is nothing they can do for me at nissan of st. charles, in st. charles, il while mcgrath nissan in elgin il said that they are taking a list of people that want loaner vehicles while they await the availability of loaners. that there is no danger of random deployment of the airbag and it is only if you get in a front end accident. they said nissan has offered an added safety in that they provide a loaner, but this information was only given after i pushed the issue. in kenosha wi, they are stating that the airbag can randomly deploy and is extremely dangerous and should not be driven at all. kenosha wi said that some vehicles went down a production line that had the defective airbags while other vehicles got a different airbag. my mother also drives a versa and was told that her's did not have the defective airbag even though she received the recall notice. nissan st. charles said that if you received the notice, you have the defective part. why is there so much conflicting information????

Takata recall - nissan dealer in glendale heights repeatedly states that they will call me "when the part is in" it has been over six months

Takata recall

Takata recall: my driver's side airbag is under recall and parts will not be available until spring 2018. i called my dealership for information about a loaner vehicle until the repair can take place. after finally being redirected to the service manager from talking to several individuals, i left a message which was never returned.

Takata recall. i received a recall notice about these types of airbags and i'm submitting this complaint.

Takata recall-in early 2017, we rec'd a safety recall from nissan no. america re: potential rupturing of the front passenger air bag inflator. the mailer said that nissan was waiting for parts & should be avail. april 2017. the car was with our son at college. we told him do not drive w- passenger in front seat. sept 25, 2017, we rec'd a 2nd notice-stating that parts were avail to repair front passenger airbag + an add'l recall 17v-449 was in effect for the driver side, parts not avail until spring 2018. we will get the repair done & there is an option for getting a loaner car, but for 9 months, our son & other family members have been driving this car, not knowing that the driver side was just as dangerous as the passenger side. i do not understand how nissan (nhtsa) could not confirm the same issue on both front airbags & notify us of the danger back in jan 2017. we have not been in an accident in this car, but the fact that 9 months later we are finding out that our son, and other family members, should not have been driving this car at all is shocking and horrifying.

I just got a recall on my airbags stating that the parts wont be in until spring 2018!! loaner cars are supposed to be available but the dealer says they are waiting to get them!! this is dangerous driving!! please help

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 nissan versa. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 17v449000 (air bags); however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. a dealer was not contacted. the manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. the contact had not experienced a failure. parts distribution disconnect.

Takata recall, we recently were told about the recall on our new/ used nissan versa. we have been notified the partrs will not be available until 2018 in the spring. also we were notified that a rental was available free of chaarge from a government letter. yet fred martin nissan told us no such thing was available. then my husband called they said there was a rental available but that we would have to leave our car with them until spring to be fixed and that there was a millage limit that we could not pass or we would be charged. thiss is ridiculous i would never leave my car that i still owe ten grand on and trust that it would be safe for months in there parking lot. so we are stucking driving the car with our kids knowing that we could get severly injured because of something a company did. it is so wrong that they are making people drive these cars still knowing that we could be hurt and not giving us a realistic option to get our car fixed in a timely manner.
