Transmission failed, @ 133 thousand miles. coolant made its way into the transmission.
Check engine light came on. nissan diagnosed engine coolant in transmission fluid. need new transmission and radiator.
Lost power could not move truck on city street. dealership told me it was the transmission coolant was leaking into the transmission fluid wariness the gears and the transmission had to be replaced. they told me there was a recall but i never received a notice they said the recall has expired and i have to pay for the repair.
I bought this truck from a dealership, with 118,500 miles in, and i only drove it 1,500 miles and transmission broke, i never the warranty for the truck, and the repairs came out $4,237 dollars what can i do in this situation. please let me know. thanks.
At 132,000 miles my transmission and radiator failed at the same time. i have come to understand that this is a known defect in nissans. i did not know this was an ongoing problem with nissans. the cost to repair is going to be more than $5000. this is terrible.
Lost power while driving, had it checked by transmission shop and turns out there is a defect in oem radiator causes contamination of transmission fluid and engine coolant. was required to spend over $6000 out of pocket to fix.
Transmission started slipping and then lost reverse.and finally just kept slipping and wouldn't move more than a few hundred feet ,and would turn off and wouldn't restart until the transmission cooled off,and when it restarted the idle or tachometer would jump into the red line area even though the truck wouldn't drive past 20 mph. coasting on the freeway i would pull to the side and have cars drive around mr while trying to push it off the shoulder, looking for an off ramp to go to the nearest transmission shop i could find..secondly i had to replace my fuel sender and or. my fuel pump i t went out when i was driving down the freeway thinking i had a half a tank when actually it was on empty ..so i really never knew how much fuel it had until i got it fixed at sam's automotive in beaumont ca .92223 and sam has returned and sold the business so i have no receipt only remembering it costs between 500 and 100 dollars .. and yes i checked and it too had a recall and i was never notified
Transmission started slipping and then lost reverse and finally just kept spinning and wouldn't move more than a few hundred feet and would turn off and not restart till transmission cooled off ..and when it would restart the idle or tachometer would accelerate into the red line area while coasting on the freeway heading to nearest transmission shop i could find off freeway
We are a auto dealer in ohio. after purchasing a 2007 nissan frontier crew cab 4x4 at the auction, we did a post sale inspection and it passed. we brought it home and did a 60 point inspection, outside of an airbag light issue, it passed once again. one week later, the transmission is shot. after a transmission shop called me today and said $3000 to replace transmission, i found out this is a common problem that nissan will not be accountable for. i am looking for any and all assistance. this quote sums it up well, 'simply extending the warranty coverage for the radiator without warning consumers of the consequences to the transmission only makes sense if nissan is looking to cut their losses. why didn't nissan warn consumers that the transmission could fail quickly as a result of a cracked cooler tube? how many consumers must suffer transmission failures in busy intersections and on busy, congested highways before nissan does the ethical thing and issues a safety recall?'.
While on vacation transmission failure due to coolant mixing with transmission faulty radiator taken to mt holly nissan asap while driving it was a safety hazzard
