I can not open both driver door and rear right passenger door from outside it seems the latches for these doors are broken i have always to jump to the passenger side to open these doors.i think there must be a recall to be reported to kia manufacturers to fix this defective doors.
Numerous times over the past couple of months, both the esc and dbc indicator lights will come on and stay on as i'm attempting to park the vehicle. this has prevented me from shifting the car into 'park' after pulling into a parking space as i can't get it to shift beyond 'neutral.' when this happens, i've had to shut the car off, and start it again. if the indicator lights go off after restarting, i can then shift the car into park. i brought the car into my local kia dealer this morning but they were unable to replicate the issue, and since they didn't have a technician on duty to look at it, i now have to return on monday in the hope that they can figure out and fix this issue.
My car stalls while driving on the highway or street. the engine light or dashboard lights will come on and my car will not accelerate although it is on. after continously trying to accelerate the car cuts off. i put the car in park and turn off and it starts again. this is unsafe because i can be hit by another when my car suddenly decides to not accelerate. the component part or system that may be the cause is unknown.
The rear passenger door handle will not open the from the outside or inside the vehicle. car is stationary. cause is unknown, just could not open one day.
En este ao a partir de julio mi carro kia sorento 2011 a presentado problema en la direcion, power tren, de acuerdo a lo que indica que tiene un desperfecto de fabrica, en dos ocaciones he tenido problema muy fuerte, se bloqueo el carro manejando y lo frenos no funcionaron y el carro siguio rodando y pude haber tenido un accidente... la otra en la carretera el carro comienza a sonar las ruedas y cuando se frena tambalea... lo lleve para la inspeccion y paso correctamente pero me entregaron una hoja que el carro tiene desperfecto de fabrica ,,, lo lleve a la kia para la revision de las partes,,,la cual realizaron el pedido de las mismas... pero yo como usuario no me siento conforme ya que ese cambio no me da segurida por que corre peligro mi vidad y la de la familia,,, no necesito un carro reparado lo que necesito un carro que me de segurida para toda la familia,,, una vez que cambien las parte y se me falla en la carretera quien responde por mi vida y la de la familia y la de otras personas, necesito que por favor me ayuden con una investigacion, ya que tambien tiene otros desperfecto.. lo lleve alinear y me dice que le falta un pieza en las ruedas que no viene de fabrica y es un desperfecto,,, ya a mi el carro no me da confianza al manejar y no es confiable... espero que durante los dos aos que falta de garantia ya que dan 10 aos no me pase nada a mi y a mi familia.. ya que ese problema que tiene y no se realiza bien puede pasar un gran accidente...el punto es que necesito un carro que me de confianza ya que en este manejo con temor . adjunto fotos
Vehicle was parked in the garage and stationary. when trying to start the vehicle using the key-less ignition, dash and interior lights started to flicker in the vehicle and relays start to click. locks would not operate nor could i shift into neutral, started to smelt burning, pushed ignition button to shut down. would not shut off, electrical kept cycling like it was trying to start on its own, had to disconnect the battery to shut down the car. starter solenoid never engaged at any time nor did the engine try to turn over.
As i was driving home at 35 mph across a busy bridge in the city what sounded like a bomb went off and then shards of glass pouring into the car and all over me. my sun roof had exploded and for no apparent reason. no known cracks or chips were ever previously noticed.
Car ran fine. drove to store. got out of store. car wouldn't start. had so.eone check battery .battery was good.12.5 . had them check that wires where tight on battery and they where. still no power to car. left car at store . came back next day and car started up like nothing wrong. this has happen twice since

I was driving the car 2 weeks ago may 4 thand the car die in the middle of the road. i got someone to help push the car in there driveway. when back the next day with a mecanic he told me the car engine need to be replaced. didn't believe him cause i brought the car 3 yrs ago. before the car die the check engine turn on than die. the seatbelt turn in 1 month ago .now i have 9000 left on the car the won't wrong take back and the dealership won't make a strades
'tamara recall' i was traveling up the interstate slightly uphill at 55 miles an hour when i begin to lose power\speed and before i could get it to the shoulder it lost all power to gather and smoke started coming in the ac vent when i got it stopped and open the hood it was burning at the back right hand side of the motor on some wiring harness i was able to put the fire out i later was told that it had thrown a rod and was most likely the cause of the fire

Passenger door front and rear do not open from the outside. a very large known issue from kia sorentos, mainly 2011 that kia wants me to pay 668.00 per door for a 1.50 piece. this issue in my mind is a safety issue but they do not agree. i have a fear all 4 of doors may have this issue at some time. clearly after looking at google this is a known issue. the service manager told me the same. he said he has fixed hundreds of these
Car stalls and jerks when driving.when placing in drive it takes off very slow and under power.while driving the car changed gears on its own even jerking hard.
Rear parking brakes never worked. using my shift gear for parking . now front door is not opening from outside. went to forum on internet about this issue. thousands of kia sorento 2011 owners has same issue with the door. if we go to kia, they charge $400 for one door lock! crazy! so many kia owners don,t want a kia anymore. me either
My sorento makes a clunking sound when i hit a bump, pothole and when. pulling out of my driveway. or turning the wheel at school circle drop off. i took car to two different garages. the mechanic test drove and checked frontend of car he could not find anything. he found voluntary service campaign.sc 082a it say the intermediate shaft need replaced. it drive good but, it sounds like its gonna fall apart. the nosie is getting worse. my car was built june 4th 2010. the voluntary service is between oct23 2009-may22 2010. could i please have my car added by extended the campaign service. sc 082a. april 2011. i have a service appointment on april 4th to get three other recalls to get fixed.
Taka recall- vechicle has stalled on the highway/streets while driving several times, example i could be in the middle of driving and the car just completely slows down, almost causing accidents which can be very serious. i have taken the car back to the dealer and they said there's nothing wrong, clearly there's and issue with the car. i have been reading storys with consumers having the same issues that i'm having. kia has not issued a recall which is sad due to the many complaints and life threading situations this has put people in. i'm in the process of hiring and attorney to look into this because no one is giving me answers. not sure what it could be but i've ask around and some say it sounds like a transmission issue i need answers
I was driving on the freeway then heard a very loud explosion. by the time i realized what it was i was home. kia isn't taking responsibility for what happened so only having one vehicle i have to pay for it.
My struts make my tires pop at least every two weeks got them replaced over 10 times and also my fuel injectors have been replaced and still give off a stinky smell it may result in getting another catalic converter

My rear driver side door stopped opening from the outside a few months ago - child lock is not on. yesterday, my drivers side door stopped opening. apparently this is a major issue with the kia sorento. what would i do if i was in accident and can't physically get in car to get my child out. this is beyond dangerous and unsafe. a recall needs to happen immediately.

I saw on news media about the kia sorento vehicle's catching on fire while driving now this concerns me because i have children in my car 24/7 and i do travel out of state to visit family. why has there been no mention or recalls on this problem? i feel as though i'm driving a ticking time bomb.
On the morning of november 13, 2018, myself, my daughter and son n law went to leave her home and my kia sorento didnt want to start, when it finally did start we were about 45 minutes into our travel and pulled off at a rest area, shut the car off, and there was this awful burning smell, kinda smelled like rubber to us. we let car cool off and began our travelling. there had been several previous times before this date that my kia had not wanted to start and the lights and gauges would flash on and off. i have owned this vehicle going on 3 years now, and have had the struts literally break on me, the emergency brake part replaced twice now, the day i bought the car antifreeze was leaking out of it and i never got to drive it off the lot the day i bought it. there has been multiple issues but car dealership tells me the car is fine. 'the burning smell is the complaint i am worried about"

Air bag light has been on for about a year, dealership did not know how to fix problem and told me it was a part of a recall issue but was never fixed. last month my engine locked up on me while driving on highway, upon my husband and police getting there to assist, i was informed that there was no oil in my reservoir, my husband bought oil only to return and notice that drain plug was not in place, engine is burnt up and my insurance neither dealership where truck was serviced wants to assist me with cost! i don't have $7,752 for a new engine!
Air bag light has come on and will not go off. all of the controls on the steering wheel have stopped working, and the fuel door button has also stopped working.
We have replaced the brakes several times and the calipers as well. now we are having issues again with them. we see that there has been a recall for this issue. this happened in 2017, 2018, and now again in 2019. two out of four of our doors will not open from the outside, we see there is also a recall for this issue. please advise us how we go about getting these recalls for our vehicle as we are tired of putting out money when we shouldn't have to repeatedly.
I was driving on the highway going straight without any obstructions (bridge, etc.) in sight. without warning the front sunroof of my car exploded, shattering the glass. no debris hit the car to cause the damage. there was no change in temperature throughout the day to cause temperature stress on the glass. it exploded without cause. had the cloth cover not been covering it at that moment, the glass would have fallen directly on top of me.
Motor mounts are broke. i need to replace 3 of them. this isn't normal at all. the car has never been wrecked. the paint keeps peeling off. i repainted 1 x on an area, kia is aware. i took to them and they said kia wasn't responsible (but , i disagree). i paid over 30,000 for this kia.. , body shop couldn't guarantee due to the paint job kia did on my automobile. now the paint is peeling on other spots.
I am issuing a complaint because there are tons of reports about my make/model catching fire and steering issues. i do not feel safe driving my car, especially with my son in the car with me. something needs to be done, or these cars need to be discontinued!
The backup camera started to become distorted then completely stopped working
Towed a boat in july of 2018, stopped at a store and the car would not allow me to put car in park, had to look at owner manual to find out had to push a little button by the parking gear for it to shift into park or drive. after we unhooked boat went back to working normal.
Door will not open! this is unacceptable in an emergency situation, it is clearly a known issue on these vehicles. it will not open from the outside and if you had the child lock engaged, it will not open from the inside either. fortunately i did not have the child lock engaged so i can still open the door from the inside, but now that i know it's a common issue i'm afraid it will happen on my other doors and i do have a child, so the child locks are sometimes used. car was parked at the time, i closed the door and the next time the handle would not open it.

Rear sunroof suddenly exploded while driving on i5 near everett, wa. did not see any trucks or obvious source of flying debris. upon examination later glass was bulged outward. with a 6 inch hole missing. the interior sun shield kept glass from entering the car over our granddaughter.
First it started with drivers door not working. i can't get in the driver door because the handle doesn't work. so i have been crawling thru the passenger door to get in the car. but now i can't do that because the passenger door won't open from the outside either. you pull on the door handle and it does nothing. what if there were a fire and i was in the car and someone ran up to get me out they would not be able to open the doors. next problem is i have an extensive oil leak in the car. so bad it keeps dripping down on the alternator whicheck has forced me to replace that twice now. i took it to kia and they said it was the timing chain cover. it would cost 2,000.00 to fix. i looked online and found out that a lot of other people are having the same issue and it seems the timing chain cover is a misdiagnosis. apparently the oil sensor is the culprit. it malfunctions because of its location in the engine. i don't have 2000.00 just to play a guessing game. this problem needs a recall. lastly, due to the engine issues the oil leaking the car has now decided if i'm driving 60 mph it will all of the sudden shift the engine almost to a dead stop and then you feel as if you will fly thru the windshield because now the car won't go out of fourth gear manually or automatic. please help.
Drivers back side door locks and will not reopen. this is a safety hazard when you have children. i have children that go in the back seat and only one working back door if there was an accident or emergency i cannot get to my kids in time. my lobster work in one day and the next day when i went out to open the door it would no longer open. the children's safety system was engaged on the door so that my son cannot open it from the inside. from what i've read this is a common issue. please recall and fix this issue for us.
Bought the car used in 2013 and since i've had the car makes a knocking noise when stopped. it's not all the time, but most if the time. i asked the mechanic at the dealership about it and he said it was normal and going to get louder which it has, but gave no explanation as to what it was or why it was happening.

Car shifter is not engaging and disengaging resulting in not being able to place car in park. this issues was a recall before however; the fix didn't resolve the problem and kia has not offered a new fix. also, air bag light still illuminating after recall fix. again kia refuse to fix and issue could cause air bag not to deploy in an accident. also, back rear passenger door won't open from the inside or outside.
The panoramic sunroof apparently exploded when the car was parked. the was a circle about 3' around the car with small pieces of glass, glass over the entire vehicle, metal pieces from he sunroof were on the hood and windshield, the headliner was ripped from the ceiling with a large hole ripped out of the middle and pieces of glass were piled throughout the interior. the car had been parked one day. no one witnessed the explosion.
3 doors the front passenger and the two back passenger doors will not open from the outside.the door latches are broke. they replaced the inside latches because of the chrome coming off well it is cutting hands again less than a year later the chrome is coming off again. this seems t be a growing problem with sorentos. this is a safety issue that will cause your car to fail inspection. kia has wekll over 100 complaints about this and many dont complain they just fix them at 400 a door is what kia dealers wants to fix them. kia needs to recall these 2011 sorentos again this will be the 7th time can i get a car that actually drives more than in the shop....car has 110000 miles on it they all broke after the kia 60,000 warranty on door latches
Was involved in a car fire that was a total loss of the car. it was my daughter, myself and 4 dogs heading to see my dad in wiggins,colorado. if need my daughter has photos of the car fire as well as videos.
Vehicle was statiomary and not on. started smoking from dash and smoke coming out door, caught on fire went up to the roof and across to the passenger seat. when fire department came they had to cut open the hood, car randomly started while on fire to unhook the battery.
