On average, the 2007 Jeep Wrangler starts to “feel” problems with the FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE and its various aspects after 45 465 miles.

Recently reported FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE problems on 2007 Jeep Wrangler

I purchased the 2007 jeep wrangler used with 77, 000 miles on it. i now have 84500. every single time i fill up with gas, once a week, it overflows out of the end spilling on the fender, driver side and ground. i have learned never to stand near it. since getting soaked a few times.

Everyime this vehicle is fueled full at the gas pump, it will not shut off when the tank is full. this results in an overflow of gasoline, everywhere...on my hands, down the side of my vehicle and puddles on the ground. there is no warning and the only way i am able to fill the tank is by turning the engine on and watching the mileage increase on the distance to empty (dte) display on my dash.... which is not safe to do. it occurs everytime i fill up my jeep. there is no recall to fix this issue. it's been an issue since i purchased my jeep in march 2010.

Fuel spills out of the fuel tank fill opening when filling the tank everytime. if you are near the fuel cap you will get sprayed with fuel.

My 2007 jeep wrangler x (just purchased this past saturday 3/15/14) overflows gasoline when filling it up. it doesn't indicate like other vehicles that it's nearing full by shutting off, it keeps going and splashes out, every time you fill it. *tr

When filling tank the auto cutofff does not work on tank and fuel overflows and spills/sprays. *tr

First occurrence dec 6th 2012, backing out of an inclined driveway. vehicle seemed as if it had no power, stalled, spitting and sputtering like it was starving for gas. finally got it out of the driveway and was about 15 miles from closest jeep dealership in ocala fl, and nursed it there, spitting and sputtering and stalling the whole trip. left it overnight and got a call the next day where they had found the problem and a couple of other things wrong (unrelated to the problem) i approved the fixes and after $677.00 later drove off the lot. the only thing i can see on the invoice that would have caused the original problem is a line that reads "cleaner-fuelsystem" and has a $59.00 part and a $106.00 labor charge. on january 13th 2013 it starts acting up again. i take it back to same dealership the next day and complain that i'm not going to come in every month and pay a $90.00 diagnostics fee for something they said was fixed. so they plug it in and the code tells them i was running "lean" however they have no idea this time what's wrong. and of course it's ...

Gas tank spillover. the gas tank does not trigger the gas pump at the station to stop. i cannot fill my tank without having gas spill out or overflow. i don't recall when i first noticed it happening but approximately 1 year ago or a little more is when i recall. i think it is a safety hazard when it keeps spilling out. *tr

Cpsc#i1230153a. 2007 jeep jk wrangler. consumer stated that everytime he puts fuel in his vehicle approximately .5 to 1 quarts of fuel spits back out. *ln cpsc: *dt

Fuel does not shutoff automatically until fuel overflows. spills all over the side of the vehicle and on the ground. *tr

While filling up fuel tank to full and using the automatic shutoff supplied by all fuel stations the gas will overflow out of the filler neck for 1-2 seconds before actually stopping the flow of the fuel. *js

My wrangler was manufactured 2/07- i purchased it used in 2/12. every time i fill the tank, gas spills out immediately after the pump stops. daimler chrysler will not acknowledge this is an issue despite hundreds of complaints from 2007-08 wrangler owners. this is obviously a safety issue and there should be a recall. *tr

The gas tank overflows every time it is filled and spills gas on operator and ground. *tr

I just bought jeep used. first time i filled up the pump cut off and then there was a surge of gas that spewed out. on second refill today at a different station with new pumps same thing happened gas spewed under such force it would have gotten in eyes had i not had sunglasses on. spillage was over a liter and was all over clothing and attendant had to spread absorbent. *tr

Fuel tank overflows when filling the vehicle with gas. the rollover check valve does not engage to stop the gas pump. *tt

Just purchased this jeep used, excellent condition few days ago jan. 2012. major fuel spitting back upon filling the tank. the pump shuts off as expected and then there is a huge gush of gas that comes out after all over me, the side of jeep, and all over the ground. this is a huge safety issue and a fire concern! the second attempt at fueling i tried slowing the speed of gas and not filling all the way --- same thing happened. jeep dealer acts they've never heard of this. a lie. i've emailed chrysler and they also are acting like they don't know anything about it even though i have a copy of a letter they have sent to previous owners about it stating they would repair this fuel spitback issue. apparently, my previous owner did nothing! i've now read all of the reports and claims. too bad we didn't know this before. i am afraid to put my family in this jeep and we haven't even had it for a week. you don't think it's a recall? ...
