We have classified the 66 complaints from 2007 Jeep Wrangler about ELECTRICAL SYSTEM into the following categories.
Vehicle caught fire while sitting in driveway in front of home 30 minutes after driving the vehicle. total loss.
For the second time a brake line has broken causing brake failure while driving. i called jeep and was told there has been no recall and the dealership's service department takes no responsibility. my daughter was driving around a circle at a major highway intersection when the brakes failed. i guess a certain number of people must die before a recall is made. have had an electrical issue with blinkers since i owned the car. when turning off blinker when changing lanes, the opposite blinker comes on. trying to turn that side off, then makes the other side come back on. it takes going back and forth for a few times before it will just turn off.

Driver's side door lock makes clicking noise, will only unlock/lock when done on inside manually or on the outside by key. door switch and key fob both do not unlock/lock door when parked. the door does not auto-lock when the vehicle is in motion.
Factory car radio goes on and off for no reason. when it goes off the unit seems to have no power to it and it comes back on at random times. you can go weeks without the radio and it will come back on for a day or so for no reason.
The vehicle will not shut off. drove it into the carport turned off the ignition and the vehicle would not stop running, even with the key turned off and removed from the ignition... all gauges were randomly turning on and off, and the horn was intermittently blaring. the vehicle was stationary at the time.
Engine dies at highway speed . all warning lights on dash light up. after pulling over to side of road, wont start for 5-10 minutes. vehicle has done this 3 times in last 6 weeks. cannot diagnose because no codes are recorded.
Tipm electrical issue. causing inoperable turn signals, parking lights, horn, power window on drivers side, and sometimes, doest start of turn over. auto repair shop says it needs a tipm replacement
My car started acting up. neighbors would come regularly ring my house bell to let me know that the jeep's headlights were on. the jeep was parked in the street. the problem: it wouldn't stay locked. it would automatically lock and unlock whenever. we only have street parking at home and it was very stressful to leave the car open at night in the street or even when going places. also the windshield wipers started getting stuck in the middle of the windshield or sometimes stopped working completely. this was very dangerous especially when it happened at high speeds on the highway! finally, the right blinker wouldn't work and that problem seemed to be related to the broken locking/unlocking system. after going back and forth to two different mechanics 5 times (each time they said it was fixed but it wasn't), after replacing the tipm and all the wiper motor parts and reprogramming everything properly, it is now a functional car again! it was a big bill and on top of that i had to spend money on lyft and was very handicapped without a car!
Vehicle was stationary, inside of garage with high ceilings. vehicle caught on fire after sitting with engine off for more 3 hours. looked like started at fuse box area. *tt *tr
Jeep will not start intermittently, when turning the key over the jeep will click once and the starter will not turn over. sometimes you can try agin right away and it'll start. sometimes you have to wiggle the gear shifter, and sometimes it takes awhile to get it to turn over and start. i was told it is either an ignition problem or a neutral safety switch, but geared towards the latter. it does it whether parked on a hill, flat, warm or cold. according to many jeep pages and forums this is a very common problem
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 jeep wrangler. the contact stated that the remote door lock would not operate. upon inspection, it was discovered that the fuse to the doors had blown. the fuse was replaced but, moments later, had blown a second time. the vehicle was taken to the dealer jeep, dodge, chrysler and fiat of yakima washington where it was diagnosed that the tipm module was faulty and needed to be replaced. the module was replaced, but the failures continued. during the repair, it was also discovered that the wire harness to the tipm had melted. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 95,000.
I just purchased my jeep about a month ago. i had a 30 day powertrain warranty from the dealer, but it did not include electrical issues. the tipm was defective, and my jeep will not start now as a result. i contacted a parts dealer and was told the part is on back order and no release date available.
Received recall notice (r13/nhtsa 15v-222) for clutch interlock switch. i removed the part (1 clip and one connector) and tried to get a replacement part at local dealer. they attempted to charge for the part and i asked for no charge due to recall. they refused to give me the part because i "might not install it correctly". they wanted me to schedule appointment for repair (put the part back in and drive to the dealer, which gave them enough faith that i could plug it in?). i didn't want to wait at dealer to have a part plugged in, so contacted fca recall assistance. debate ensued regarding what fca will and will not pay for. i proposed that i will buy the part and submit for reimbursement. i was told that i might not be reimbursed. after review of title 49, i called fca recall assistance back and conceded some aspect of my original argument (based on title 49, 30120 (a)(a)(i)) and offered to let the dealer come over and clip in the part. of course, they refused and recall assistance recommended taking it to the ...
I was driving down the road and the horn started blowing and would not stop, the windshield wipers started wiping at high speed, windshield washer fluid was squirting out, and would not stop. i turned the vehicle off and issues kept happening. the gauges and speedometer stopped working at this time. luckily i was pulling in my driveway. *tr
