Cracked cylinder #6 head.

My 2015 jeep grand cherokee has 85,820 miles & the radiator was found leaking when brought in for a engine code indicating the thermostat was bad. the thermostat was replaced ($130.00 part) and then the chrysler dealer told me the radiator needed to be replaced. my dealer mentioned this has been more common with jeeps and they now keep the radiator in stock. it cost just under an additional $900.00 to have the radiator replaced. if so many jeep's are having the same issue why has a recall not been issued. i have never had a radiator fail in any of my vehicles so soon. is this not justification for a recall? i would think owners should be notified (ahead of time) of this potential failure if indeed it is this common an occurrence.

Parked the car on a rainy night post a 6 hour drive. 2.5 hours after the car was turned off, the alarm system and other electrical components began to go off intermittently, not in the typical alarm pattern. key fob and lock would not respond. car would not start but some electronic components continued to work, including uconnect. finally stopped after 20 minutes. the car then shut down completely and would not start. called aaa and they sent out the battery truck. aaa battery voltmeter check revealed an initial read of 10.9 volts; then went to 0.9. jump start would not take. car completely dead except for power seats, which continued to work. had to tow vehicle to dealership who ultimately determined that body control module had malfunctioned. similar reports and a recall for this body control module same malfunction due to wiper blades on dry glass in 2011-2014 models.

I took the vehicle to towbin dodge in north las vegas for a check engine light. are used an extended warranty service to get the car looked at and repaired. the maintenance representative advised me that there was an open recall for the omissions on the diesel engine. i was aware of the eco-diesel recall and had decided not to take advantage of this recall. i was prepared not to receive the $3000 that diamond chrysler fiat was offering for customers to get this done. i advise matt the maintenance representative not to accomplish the recall.when my wife went to go pick up the vehicle to our surprise the recall was performed. matt and the service manager jesus admitted to their mistake of accomplishing the recall without our authorization. i have asked him to revert the software to the manufacture default and they are not able to accomplish it. i have spoken to the district service manager robert. i asked robert to buy the vehicle back for me because i do not want itanymore. he said he would coordinate with damian chrysler fiat to see what could be done about this. i would like some assistance in coordinating with the manufacture of the vehicle to get it bought back.

Ecodiesel turbo lag can be hazardous, 2-3 second delay. i will not let anyone else drive it due to concerns of getting hit or hitting someone.

My 2015 jeep grand cherokee has 70,000 & the radiator is leaking. my dealer & local mechanic told me the radiator needed to be replaced. my dealer told me that they have had so many jeep's in with the same radiator issues that they now keep the radiator in stock. it is going to cost $1100 to have the radiator replaced. if so many jeep's are having the same issue why has a recall not been issued. i have never had a radiator fail in any of my vehicles before 100,000. jeep should at least cover part of the cost.

My vehicle has a knocking in the engine my vehicle only has 26, 000 miles that should not be happening. i have my oil changes every three thousand miles..

Memory seats no longer work, therefore causing my seat to be out of whack and i can not sit right. my engine began to make a ticking noise out of nowhere, meaning something is wrong. one headlight is out but isn't and causes my bright to be on at all times. when using my light i now cannot use my actual brights. *pm

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 jeep grand cherokee. while driving approximately 55 mph, all the warning indicators flashed on the instrument panel and the vehicle stalled. the contact also stated that the failure began around may of 2018 and worsened. the vehicle was taken to chrysler dodge jeep of paramus (315 route 4 west, paramus, nj 07652) where the emission evaporation vent was replaced; however, the failure continued. the vehicle was taken to the dealer seven times, but the failure continued. the manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided case number: 64723187. the contact also stated that a crash occurred because the brakes seized when the vehicle stalled. the police was present and a report was filed. the contact was injured and transported to the hospital via ambulance. the vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. the approximate failure mileage was 100,000.

We tried to enter hwy 65 north in mo . from a side hwy . hwy 65 is a 4 lane hwy , 2 lanes north and 2 lanes south . we crossed the 2 south lanes and waited till we could enter the north bound lanes . when it was safe to go i stepped on the throttle and the motor stayed at idle . it put us in the middle of the 2 norh lanes and stopped . i kept pressing on the throttle until we krept accross the lanes and out of traffic coming at us at 65 mph . this has happened several times . it has happened in town where we live in az . we also had trouble when we entered the road by our hotel . this is going to cause some one to be killed . this problem started after an emissions recall was installed . recall / csn 1 v08 - 3.0 diesel

One day when leaving a barbershop my wife tried to start our jeep and it would not crank. it would turn over, start for a second then turn off. after sitting for a while longer it started up and drove fine. this past sunday we were leaving a gas station to get on the interstate and in the middle of an intersection it shut off. all acceleration stopped and the jeep went into park and left us stuck in the middle of the intersection. once we used the manual park release and got out of the intersection we let it sit for a little bit. my wife got in the driver seat and it started right up. we then drove it to an auto parts store and had the check engine light diagnosed as the neutral safety switch. i spoke with a local dealership and was told that that is 'not a part listed' in their parts catalog. this vehicle shut off and my pregnant wife could have been t-boned in the blink of an eye.

Out of nowhere, my 2015 jeep gc decelerated, all the lights on the dash came on and the following messages popped up: auto park disabled, service electronic throttle control, and ended with service shifter. the truck would not accelerate in the middle of a highway. i took the vehicle to the dealer where they cannot seem to find the problem. the windshield wipers turned themselves on along with the check engine light and the hazards.

Since doing the eco diesel update jeep has a serious lag / stall when accelerating and when going around 20 miles per hour when accelerating. numerous times when crossing out into traffic the vehicle has a lag/ power delay almost causing an accident. this was not an issue until the eco diesel update was done. its currently at the dealership, per the service manager they are aware of the issue and have had numerous complaints with the jeep and trucks due to the eco diesel update, but they have no resolution.

Ecodiesel emissions recall. after having the emissions recall done to my vehicle on 8/20/19, the vehicle is extremely sluggish and non reliable. the turbo lag is horrible, sometimes 1-3 seconds, sometimes 4 or 5. transmission doesn't seem to know where it wants to be at times. none of the issues are constant and therefore you never know when you pull into traffic if you will have the power needed or stall and get hit. safety hazard is an understatement and families will be hurt over this poor attempt at a "fix". jeep was extremely responsive and had more torque readily available prior to the recall. now it is gutless and i wouldn't attempt to hook the boat up to it.

For vehicle with vin number [xxx], after a vo8 flash of the ecu due to emissions recall settlement the car has serious "lag" in acceleration from the stop position. this is a safety hazard as the lag creates a collision risk from on-coming traffic. currently the manufacturer does not have a solution for the software update that has caused the safety hazard. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

Ever since the fca ecodiesel exhaust emissions update, my vehicle has had terrible turbo-lag. when you step on the accelerator, especially after a cold start it can take up to 4 seconds to actually move forward. i already reported this once before, but this vehicle is a serious hazard. trying to cross any type of traffic is dangerous. it also has anywhere from 3-4mpg drop since the update.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 jeep grand cherokee. the contact stated that the engine failed to start. the only indicator illuminated on the instrument panel was the "service electric brake system". the contact also stated that the passenger side headlight blinker failed to operate. the contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic who replaced the fuel pump, body control module, and computer. the repair did not correct the failure. the vehicle was towed to chrysler dodge jeep ram fiat of bay ridge (8825 5th ave, brooklyn, ny 11209-5901) where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump connector failed. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was contacted. the contact stated that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 19v813000 (electrical system). the approximate failure mileage was 114,000.

Jeep grand cherokee diesel, after v08 recall (diesel exhaust issue), car now will lag, and fail to accelerate at lower speeds under load. acts as if it will stall. dangerous in that it fails to respond to acceleration input under these conditions, usually around 20-25 miles per hour. when this occurs, car makes two very short and faint buzzing noises from the engine compartment. car did not do this prior to the v08 diesel recall software fix. this is an ongoing problem, car has been to shop several times, and everything checks out as being normal.

Since i had the exhaust emissions update done, my jeep has an extremely long lag in acceleration. it takes a good 2-3 seconds after stepping on the throttle, before the car moves forward. i was almost hit head on in traffic on a highway because of the timing of not accelerating properly. this was never an issue before the exhaust update.

7/8/19 i brought my 2015 jeep grand cherokee in for the vo8 emissions recall two days later my vehicle was returned 7/10/19. 7/12/19 i went to have my vehicle smog check completed and the smog check failed due to the following 'your vehicle failed the smog check inspection due to the fact the fact that the vehicles on-board computer system has not completed the emission system self-checks.' during that time i had already contacted the dealership to return my vehicle to checked for possible issues caused by the vo8 emissions recall. upon my drive from smog test to jeep chrysler dealership (10.3) no warning lights came on and as i approached the dealership the oil temperature gauge did start to rise. once parked i noticed oil dripping from the passenger front of my vehicle. the dealership service attendant plugged in the error code reader and no codes/errors were detected as if operating 100% as intended. even though it was evident that my jeep had catastrophic engine failure. it was determined my engine needed to be replaced due to the vo8 emissions recall and i have co-work that experienced the same issue resulting in the engine to be replaced two days after the vo8 emissions recall was completed . the replacement engine was on back order until 8/21/19 and i may have my jeep back 8/30/19. the repair work completed on my vehicle is not fluke and the recall work being performed is not satisfactory and possibly rushed to meet deadlines for compliance. fca us llc , as an organization needs to look at the recall practices holistically, think about the people and their family being impacted by the v08 emissions recall short comings.

Vehicle exhibited what felt like a hard downshift from second to first gear. jolt was concerning enough that driver had to apply additional brake pressure when coming to a full stop. technician at repair facility discovered that jolt felt by operator was actually engine moving significantly due to defective hydraulic engine isolators (engine mounts mopar p/n 68252522aa). mounts were replaced and problem no longer detected. internet research reveals that this is a known issue with the wk2 model of the jeep and typically occurs approximately four (4) years after date of manufacture. operator's concern is that inadequately or unsecured engine shift could cause collision or loss of vehicle control. manufacturer apparently does not feel this defective/unreliable component design is a safety issue.

My check engine light came on. i brought it to my jeep dealer.they found code p0302 and said the left engine head had to be replaced as well as #2 fuel injector.i had just over 50000 mi. the head was covered under warranty, the fuel injector cost me 415$. jeep should have covered this cost. jeep reimbursement department denied me reimbursement.what can be done to recover my cost?

Emission check engine light for small evaporation emission system leak p0456 fault code. also, fuel tank wont fill with fuel at higher nozzle flow rates... possibly due to tank check valve. the check engine light will disqualify the emission test for the vehicle and prevent obtaining a licence plate renewal. the check valve will only allow a slow fill using a manual grasp of the nozzle lever to restrict the flow to the smallest amount possible. this appears to be a common problem and needs a recall the refill is of course, is done in park, at a gas station. the check engine light occurs at startup.

While driving at highway speed my 2015 jeep grand cherokee eco diesel started to make a rumbling noise, the oil pressure light came on within a minute the engine shut off still at highway speed. when i pulled over to the shoulder the car was stuck in gear, would not restart and had a small oil leak. the car was towed to the nearest dealer who determined that the car had engine damage and the engine needs to be replaced. car has less than 33,000 miles and still has original tires, and brakes. all oil change services were performed as suggested. car was purchased new from dealer august 4th, 2015.

Ive had this car in the shop 4 or 5 times for extreme overheating costed me 4500 so far and never fixed

The vehicle would not start. it has a push button ignition switch start. it locked up and it could not be towed because the tow truck driver could not get it in natural to move it. i was stranded for 12 hours with nothing to eat or drink before i got help. all electrical systems shut down and i was alone in a very bad area at the time. unless the vehicle started it would do nothing and could not be towed. jeep needs a recall on this very unsafe system. they should be made put in an override switch or be able to start the vehicle with a key. i am 76 years old and i was going to start on a 500 mile trip that day. very good thing it happen when it did. the vehicle would have been dead along the road with no help. all push button starts need a backup to get out of this safety hazard. i unlocked the door get in and pushed the start button and nothing. all kind of lights lit up on the instrument panel and displayed a lot of things that would not work. the transmission would not go in or out of gear.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 jeep grand cherokee. the contact stated that smoke entered the cabin of the vehicle without warning. the contact turned off the vehicle and noticed smoke coming from the hood and headlights. the vehicle was not taken to a dealer to be diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 28,000.

While driving at highway speed on a 2-lane road, our jeep grand cherokee ecodiesel began to lose power. the lights on the instrument cluster began going off seemingly randomly, and the vehicle had to be quickly pulled over and put in a safe condition on the side of the road as the engine stalled. the engine would not restart. after 2 months of troubleshooting with chrysler engineering, our shop believes they have found the issue, which is a faulty tone wheel in the drivetrain, at where the engine couples to the transmission. the tone wheel lost about 1/4" of encoded magnetic material, and this made the vehicle inoperable, even while at highway speed. this failure threw no codes to the computer for the technician to interpret, and the only symptom is that the engine would not fire, even though, as a diesel, there is no spark ignition system.

I had my jeep for less than a year and one day, for no reason, it just shut off. i took it to jeep and they said the wrong oil was used in the previous oil change. so they put oil in the truck. a couple of months later and it's doing the same thing. it's a disaster waiting to happen. i can't take a chance on driving down the road and the vehicle just shuts off. the vehicle was in motion each time.

Continual engine problem light due to egr sensor fouled. have had it serviced numerous times. causes acceleration issues and shifting issues. vehicle acceleration causes a safety issue in traffic while moving and when trying to enter traffic from a stop. was told by dealer there was a recall coming in february, but now they say they never heard of a recall. i am hesitant to travel and have the vehicle break down. i am attaching 5 of the repairs that i can find, but there have been more for the same reason, and 1 additional since i have an appt on 2/18/2020 to fix it in preparation for a trip from ny to fl.

When the air conditioning is running there is a noise coming from the air compressor and i don't understand y the car being so new it can have already broke i went to get it checked and they said it would cost $1690 to fix at a jeep dealer that is extremely ridiculous i would say ...

I was traveling up interstate 95 just passed exit 26 in connecticut. as i approached exit 27 a a vehicle in the exit only lane merged into the slow lane in front of me. i proceeded to then accelerate around the vehicle that had crossed in front of me and immediately as i accelerated the vehicle began to accelerate uncontrollably to an unsafe speed. i shifted the car into neutral and braked and steered appropriately. as my vehicle began to slow i then proceeded to shift the car back into drive hoping that the issue would be resolved. while my vehicle was a neutral i tapped the gas pedal in hopes of if it was jammed or stock it would come loose and i would be able to control the acceleration of the vehicle. unfortunately the pedal did not come on stock as i proceeded to drive i realize that my speed was dropping to an unsafe rate while being on an interstate i proceeded to shift my car back into drive only to have the pedal that was still pressed to the floor accelerate the vehicle uncontrollable to again in unsafe speed. after i proceeded to stomp on the throttle in hopes of loosening it from whatever it was that was causing it to be stuck in the open position, the pedal finally returned to its on stock position with a loud bang. i don't proceeded to steer immediately off the highway at the next available exit and turn the vehicle off...updated 04/20/17 *bf ..updated 05/09/17 *bf the consumer stated the floor mat closest to the accelerator was trimmed, but the failure recurred. the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. *js *cn

We purchased our car in october 2015 and recently our engine light came on . we took the truck to barbera's to find out the problem and was told we need a new thermostat and we just can't imagine how or why we would need that with the car being new with only 18k miles on it.. we mostly use the vehicle to get my husband to and from work...so it's mostly highway driven 5 days a week.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 jeep grand cherokee. while driving 65 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. all of the lights on the instrument panel flickered on and off. the vehicle stalled on more than one occasion within the same day. in addition, the vehicle failed to shift into gear properly. the vehicle was towed to a jeep dealer to be repaired. it was diagnosed that the bcm module needed to be replaced. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 12,000.

I received the safety recall for the electronic shift lever not going to park. i scheduled an appointment with bob baker jeep in carlsbad, ca to have the recall done. i went to drop it off. the jeep dealer refused to do the work. i was told jeep is no longer doing the recall.

I purchased a 2015 jeep grand cherokee with the 3.0 l ecodiesel engine in september of 2015. in less than a year from the date of purchase, the vehicle had major repairs including a complete engine replacement and an exhaust system replacement. based on multiple service issues with vehicles with this diesel engine, my local jeep dealership does not stock or sell the grand cherokee with this engine anymore. fiat chrysler america has been reluctant to acknowledge any problems or be of any assistance in this matter with the exception of "standard warranty repairs."

I have a 2015 gran cherokee while parked in my garage the jeep rolled forward hitting the garage doors , called chysler was told there is a recall but i'm not doing it right ? i asked , what placing the car in park? or buying a car that is a safety hazard !!!, we should have been warned this car was going to kill someone.!!!!

Vehicle was put in park. i exited the car. wife was sitting in car in passenger seat. car was not moving. wife exited car to retrieve item from house. returned to find vehicle down the hill and in the woods.

The vehicle locked when i was stopped in traffic in the highway, rendering the vehicle disabled in traffic while in drive. i pressed on the gas pedal but did not move. i hit my emergency lights placed the car in park and then shifted back to drive but got no movement. i then turned off the vehicle and restarted the vehicle and was able to move off the highway and took the surface streets to get home. i saw on this "site" there is a recall for 2016 models which is recall s28.

I've contacted my dealer at ray brandt chrysler dodge jeep located at 1660 westbank expy, harvey, la 70058 in reference to the important safety recall of the "auto park" feature. i explained to them that my vehicle may roll away, striking and injuring me, my wife, or baby even though the vehicle indicates it is in park. the employee advised that there is nothing that he can do. i then stated, "so, i'm am just suppose to hope that my vehicle does not slip out of gear?" i felt that this was a bit ridiculous and extremely unprofessional. i am unpleased with the way i was treated and the outcome of my service request. this needs to get rectified immediately or i will have to take further action. thank you for your assistance in advance. *tr

When driving my vehicle long distances on the highway then entering the city the transmission will shift hard between third and second gear. it will stay that way for a day and then after sitting for over 12 hours it will slowly start to go away. jeep did on flash updates and was on able to resolve the problem. this problem is rampant among jeeps to include the cherokee and renegade.

Vehicle randomly brakes unintentionally for 5 to 10 seconds - engine and steering fail all at the same time. a loud collision warning along with red alert braking indicators. i informed a local dealership several months after purchase (summer 2015). they reported no specific codes or recalls. the issue has occurred multiple times. in all occurrences the vehicle was in motion including highway and city streets. for incidents i directly recall they occurred while driving in a straight line (mostly).

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 jeep grand cherokee. while the vehicle was parked, the radiator leaked a reddish color fluid onto the ground. the vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the radiator and hose ruptured. the radiator was replaced. in addition, the front driver and passenger side black wheel trim detached while the vehicle was being driven. the vehicle was taken to the dealer, but was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 5,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 jeep grand cherokee. the contact parked the vehicle and thought he turned off the engine. when the contact re-entered the vehicle, the engine was on. the contact activated the off button and had no indication that the engine was still on. the failure recurred numerous times. the manufacturer was notified. the approximate failure mileage was 1,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 jeep grand cherokee. while the vehicle was parked in the garage without the key in the ignition, it was discovered that the vehicle had independently started. the contact entered the garage on two occasions without the key fob in his pocket and the vehicle was not running. the doors were locked. the contact depressed the door open button on the fob, unlocked the vehicle, and powered the vehicle off. the vehicle was not taken to the dealer. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 25,550.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 jeep grand cherokee. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 15v676000 (engine and engine cooling) however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. the contact had not experienced a failure.

I bought a new jeep grand cherokee and the transmission went out on the car going down a mountain! thank god for brakes as there was no control of the vehicle. the dealership replaced the car with one that is identical. it is brand new and i have had it for 3 weeks and it is doing the exact same thing as the other one. it gets stuck in gears. engine stalls and revs up when changing gears! i fear for my life in this vehicle. also, water pours from the base of the exhaust pipes. not from the tips.. it unreal how much water pours out of the back of the vehicle!! this is a bad seriously grave situation! i called fletcher dodge jeep in sherwood arkansas where i bought the car and they told me that i needed to drive it 2.5 hours to them so they can see if a shift relearn would work or if this car will be a lemon too!! they said the relearn only works on some of the vehicles!!! please halt chrysler from the production of 8 speed automatic transmission as they do not know how to fix them and they are going to start killing people!

We bought our grand cherokee at falls motor city and they offered us a free first oil change. at 7000 miles we took it in had the oil change. dealer never reset oil light drove it home next day engine light is on. found oil in everything. took to another jeep dealer they did a software update saying that was issue. that didnt fix it. second time they changed crankcase sensor since it had oil in it. still didnt fix it. 3rd time they replaced the crankcase cover for oil cap since it was leaking. after 7000 miles they found that the jeep had 11 quarts of oil in it and it was supposed to only have 8 in it. the owners manual says 8 quarts but i have found online other people have has more then 8 quarts in their eco diesel. due to this we had lost 5mpg and used excessive amount of def. falls motor city said that there wont be any issue now that the other dealer put the correct amount of oil in it. there is still oil in everything. the mileage has gone back up some but still not getting what it used to be. im worried now that later on down the road the motor will fail or something on the motor will fail due to oil being pushed everywhere else since it was overfilled. this all happened back in october 2015 and just the end of jan is when everything was figured out too much oil was put in. only thing i can think of is chrysler messed up and had in their systems that the eco diesel was supposed to take 11 quarts and not 8 since other vehicles have had that much put in also at the dealer. it says 8 quarts in the owners manual.

I noticed the problem has become more pronounced starting september 5, 2015. while slowing down to stop the vehicle it lunged forward almost causing me to rear end the vehicle in front. i also noticed delays in accelerating from a stop position.
