At approximately 60,000 miles the vehicle had just been serviced and new tires were installed. we left the next morning for a vacation. about 100 miles down the limited access highway and traveling at 65 to 70 miles per hour the dash and information touch screen began flashing and a chime began repeating. the windshield wipers began operating at high speed. (it was clear, calm and about 65˚ f. different messages began flashing: one said to stop and place the vehicle in park, another said to keep driving and not turn the engine off. when able to exit the highway the jeep would only allow selection of drive or neutral. it would not allow reverse, which made it difficult to turn around. the vehicle did make it back 100 miles to the dealership but would not shift and lights flashed and chimes dinged the entire way. the dealer informed me that an electronic system associated with the transmission has failed and will cost approximately $1,000 to replace.

I have a 2015 jeep grand cherokee with 49,000 miles. in a three day period the transmissions started to have problems shifting a total of five times. it would violently start to shudder while in motion at highway speeds and nearly caused a terrible accident. i had to bring vehicle to complete stop on highway and restart. i took the vehicle to planet jeep in flagstaff, az for check as it is still under warranty. i was told that they cannot re create the issue and if they have to remove transmission pan to inspect i will be liable for cost of repair. i called fca customer service two times and they do not return my calls. i feel this is a dangerous problem that has potential for death or serious bodily injury and am not sure who to turn to at this point.

Arrived home 10:15pm dry roads and weather. backing jeep into driveway and went to full throttle back to hit the garage structure and door. shifted two drive to move out into the driveway and went to full throttle forward, across the street, through the swale into a vacant lot and hit the avista power transformer box knocking its off the base and pulling the 7,000 volt power cables out. jeep then stopped and i backed it back into the driveway and stopped. avista crew arrived and safed the transformer. resulting damage was $3,007 to house and garage door, $16,275 damage to front/back/undercarriage on jeep and about $4,880 to replace the avista transformer. car rental now 60 days at $42.00 per day. estimated total is now $26,682.

We had our 2015 jeep grand cherokee worked on to repair the issues per nhtsa recall # 16v-240. recently, the jeep alerted me as i was driving at a speed of approx. 35 mph that the "autopark has been disabled." my dealer is unable to figure out why this recall/software update has failed and rendered the "additional mechanism to mitigate the effect of operator error in failing to shift the monostable gear selector into park prior to exiting the vehicle" currently useless.

While traveling approximately 70 miles per hour (on a highway), on two occasions working 24 hours, the vehicle shifted from drive into neutral with no manipulation of the shifter. there was no warning of the impending loss of mechanical power to the drive wheels, and i was forced to coast to the shoulder of the road. no other systems (brakes or power steering as well as other electrical systems appeared to be affected. once on the shoulder and completely stopped, i attempted to shift the vehicle back into drive, but was prompted 'shift not allowed - vehicle speed too high' despite the fact that the speedometer read 0 mph. next, i pushed the start/stop button and the vehicle did not power down, but did allow me to shift into drive. the error has not replicated more than once per start up sequence (if it happens once while driving, pull over and restart, the error seems to not recur for the duration the vehicle is in motion for the rest of the trip). oil pressure and temperature as well as transmission temperature were reported as within normal operating ranges. i checked the vehicles oil ...

I had the approved emissions modification completed on my ecodiesel grand cherokee. since these was completed there is a very noticeable lag when pressing on the gas. when trying to pull out into an intersection the lag is so bad (1-3 seconds) and you feel as if you are unable to move. this is going to cause some sort of accident as it is a definite safety hazard

Since doing the eco diesel update jeep has a serious lag / stall when accelerating and when going around 20 miles per hour when accelerating. numerous times when crossing out into traffic the vehicle has a lag/ power delay almost causing an accident. this was not an issue until the eco diesel update was done. its currently at the dealership, per the service manager they are aware of the issue and have had numerous complaints with the jeep and trucks due to the eco diesel update, but they have no resolution.

For vehicle with vin number [xxx], after a vo8 flash of the ecu due to emissions recall settlement the car has serious "lag" in acceleration from the stop position. this is a safety hazard as the lag creates a collision risk from on-coming traffic. currently the manufacturer does not have a solution for the software update that has caused the safety hazard. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

A "service shifter" messgage flashes across the dashboard screen and the lights on the shifter do no light up.

Jeep grand cherokee diesel, after v08 recall (diesel exhaust issue), car now will lag, and fail to accelerate at lower speeds under load. acts as if it will stall. dangerous in that it fails to respond to acceleration input under these conditions, usually around 20-25 miles per hour. when this occurs, car makes two very short and faint buzzing noises from the engine compartment. car did not do this prior to the v08 diesel recall software fix. this is an ongoing problem, car has been to shop several times, and everything checks out as being normal.

Takata recall- while driving at speeds above 35 miles, it feels as if the vehicle slows down as if the gears changed and it requires more pressure to be applied to the gas accelerator for the vehicle to go the same speed. this has happened multiple times at speeds of approximately 35 and over.

i have the 2015 jeep grand cherokee ecodiesel that received the emissions update required by the epa diesel settlement which chrysler fca. i noticed substantial lag problems the instant i pulled out onto the open road after the update from bonneville jeep in manchester nh. the vehicle is dead off the line and there is a 2-3 second turbo lag at all speeds. you end up giving more throttle than you want because the response is so delayed, and then you get a massive surge of full throttle which can be unsettling and make the vehicle unstable in a turn. very scary to ride when my wife or kids are driving who aren't used to the issue. pulling out into busy intersections, even with a warmed up engine is a dangerous, white knuckle experience as the vehicle crawls like a tortoise into the middle of intersections before the power finally comes after 2-3 seconds.. the service department is sympathetic but says corporate has turned its back on their reports of complaints. i believe the so-called settlement documents should be voided by a new class action suit - the terms of the settlement and their ad materials ...

While decelerating, 8hp70 automatic transmission experiences severely delayed downshifts with hard jerking from 3rd to 2nd and from 2nd to 1st gears. downshift from 2nd to 1st is most severe, often causing vehicle to lunge forward after having already come to a complete stop. this issue essentially occurs every time the vehicle is driven. it has been to a jeep dealership twice for service, but they cannot fix/identify the problem.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 jeep grand cherokee. while parking the vehicle with the brake pedal depressed, the vehicle lunged forward and crashed into anther vehicle without warning. the air bag did not deploy. a police report was filed. there were no injuries. the vehicle was slightly damaged, but was driven to russ darrow chrysler dodge jeep milwaukee (888-497-8363, located at 7676 n 76th st, milwaukee, wi 53223). the technician was unable to duplicate the failure; however, the computer system was updated. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 60,060. *as *as

When driving for about 20mn after slowing down to go threw town and coming to a stop. i will start driving again and. trying to get up to speed my jeep will not shift gears. i have been in neutral for several minutes before it shifts. this has happened several times. it has also hard shifted, and has had surged of power where it lunges a head.
