Received safety recall for brake booster (p14/nhtsa 14v-154). tried to schedule appointment with dealership for safety recall service and was told that next available appointment is not until september 2014. as per safety recall notice: "if your dealer fails or is unable to remedy this defect without charge and within a reasonable time, you may submit a written complaint...or go to http://www.safercar.gov..." is there any way possible to resolve this safety recall sooner? the dealership mentioned that they have to wait for the parts needed for the safety recall and it will take months. *tr

Recall p/14/nhtsa 14v-154 - brake booster, called immediately after receiving notification (06/05/2014). told parts not available, only receiving about 5 per week. placed on list. as of 09/11/2014, still on list as parts not available in sufficient quantities. *tr recall p36/nhtsa 14v-391 - sun visor wiring, same as other recall, parts not available. why are recalls issued if there are no parts available? jeep is putting owners at risk by not having parts available. *tr
Chrysler has been forced to issue a recall notice on the brake booster of our 2014 jeep grand cherokee. this recall has been in the news for about six months. we finally get an official recall from chrysler and call our dealer for repairs. the service department of our dealer tells us that there are no parts to repair or replace the brake booster, and they don't know when they will get the parts. chrysler's recall notice states that our brakes may fail due to this issue. it is unreasonable that chrysler' sends recall notices without having the parts available to fix the issues. our car is approximately one year old, and we have had numerous recalls. *tr
We received a notification that the brakes could be faulty on my vehicle listed above. i have already had issues with the brakes locking up and not working correctly in a thunder storm.i went to the dealership today to request the repair like the mailer sent to me about a current recall advised me to do. they told me that they are unable to get it fixed until august. i have to go to florida later in the year and am afraid my car will fail in transit. the recall states that there are issues when driving in rain and other bad weather conditions. i can not control driving in bad weather when out of the state. i need immediate attention to this issue as the car has already shown signs of being affected. not getting this fixed is putting me, my family, and everyone else on the road at risk of a fatal car accident. i called chrysler and was told that they simply don't have the parts ready. i don't understand how there could be a factory issue that puts so many people at risk and no one is willing to fix it. *tr
Hi-- regarding brake booster recall on jeep grand cherokee... one day after receiving recall from chrysler--dealer advises parts are not available and will notify when they are. it appears manufacturer is "going thru the motions" to satisfy nhtsa....and reduce possibility of litigation. some incentive needs to added to the process i.e manufacturer is not motivated currently to expedite the process...especially for something that is an expense to them. thus, in this case, the vehicle owner is "forced" to drive a vehicle in which the brakes may not function in rainy weather. thats just great!! *tr

I received a recall notice on my 2014 jeep grand cherokee stating the brake booster on my car may prematurely corrode and instructed to me to report to my local dealership as soon as possible. i made the appointment the day after receiving the letter in the mail, however when i showed up to the appointment the dealership informed that they were instructed by jeep to not inspect any cars until the parts came in. i asked when that would be and he was unsure, and said could be "more than a month" when i asked is this car safe to drive, he told me "just press harder down on the brakes". i was shocked to hear this when in the letter it says they are "sincerely concerned about your safety", yet something as crucial as the brakes could malfunction and cause a crash. as someone that commutes daily on busy i-95, this is extremely unsettling to me, and i am hesitant to continue driving, especially when the dealership informs me to call back in a month to find an update. *tr
Our 2014 jeep grand cherokee was issued a recall for brake booster. the needed repair was noted by dealer when the vehicle was in for routine vehicle maintenance on june 4, 2014 and we also received a recall notice. we were told on 6/4/14 that there were no parts available to make repairs and we would be notified when the parts came in. to date 9/11/14, the repairs have not been completed. we have called the dealer, 4 times including the service manager, and chrysler (group recall assistance center) twice. the repairs have still has not been made and no appointments have been set up. *tr

I received a manufacture recall letter, when i contacted the dealership to schedule the appointment, the jeep dealership told me they had not heard of any recall and had no repair parts for the brakes. he then suggested i try back in three weeks and see if they hear anything by that time, but he added, with all the phone calls he's had today, he did not know if the company had enough parts to cover all the vehicles. what am i suppose to do with my vehicle? i attempted to contact the number for the jeep recall listed on the recall letter, but all i get is a recording stating all lines are busy. *tr
I got a recall notice on june 2, 2014 for a possible brake booster issue. i called southern maine motors (where i purchased the jeep band new) on june 2, 2014, june 20, 2014 and july 15, 2014 and all of those times i called they say they did not have the parts in. so i called the nhtsa the first part of july, 2014 and complained and they sent me a follow-up letter - this has still not been taken care of. on july 15, 2014 i was placed on the waiting list and they said they would call me when the parts came in. this is unacceptable, i have had nothing but recall after recall on this brand new vehicle. i called ann arbor, mi office and they stated that there were infact parts sent to southern maine motors and i still have yet to be in to get this fixed, now winter is coming. what is wrong with chrysler? you would think that if you are going to recall your product, they would have the parts in to take care of us. i want this resolved asap. *tr

I purchased my 2014 jeep grand cherokee limited 4x4 on june 2nd 2013. since i have had this vehicle i have experienced multiple problems which are a concern to my safety and other jeep drivers.. i have recently received the recall due to the brakes and was told by my jeep dealer and another jeep dealer that the parts are not available to fix this safety concern. i am forced to drive an unsafe vehicle at his time. this concerns me greatly. i have also been experiencing problems with the instrument panel which intermittently blacks out when driving. this prevents me from seeing the speed in which my vehicle travels and other indicator lights. this is also a concern to my safety and other drivers on the road. last week, i experienced my airbag light coming on and remaining on. i made an appointment with the dealer and they have now advised me they are having a problem diagnosing the issue. they have had to remove the seat and still struggle to diagnose the issue. they did advise me that my vehicle is a major safety concern and not safe for driving on the road. i was advised today that they diagnosed the airbag situation but will not have the parts until june 13th. i have driven my vehicle 21,000 miles in one year and believe this vehicle is a safety issue. i do not feel safe driving this vehicle with all these electrical issues i am experiencing. i would like answers from jeep as to why i amy experiencing these safety issues with such a new vehicle and why parts are not available for recalls. *tr
I am trying to let someone know that i am having trouble getting a safety recall fixed. i have received two different safety recall notices in the mail. one in may and another in september. have contacted dealership and they advised on the first recall i would be put on a waiting list. on the second recall i have not been able to even speak with anyone as i get an answering service and the dealership has not returned my calls. do not know what i should do at this time. *tr

After driving vehicle for first week of purchase, while cleaning vehicle i noticed an incredible amount of grease on the inside of the front rims. looked under the vehicle the right drivers boot was split and the clamp was hanging around the axle. when i returned vehicle to dealer they looked at it and said it was safe to drive until they ordered the replacement parts which was on backorder. it has been two weeks since then and still no parts have come in. i am concerned about driving the vehicle because the grease is all over the disc brake pads and could cause and accident due to brake failure from the grease. *tr
There are 3 recalls on our vehicle, the 1st one 5/14, we called our dealer to have fixed, they said they didn't have parts, still doesn't have them 9 months later, another one 8/14 for a sun visor lamp wiring, and another one for an occupant restraint control module. *tr
Recall 14v-154 issued 05/16/2014. the dealer says chrysler is allocating repair parts based on the number that the dealer replaces the previous week. the dealer states that we are 137 on their list of vehicles yet to be serviced. according to the mopar owners site, parts are available for this recall. my complaint is as follows: 1. the delay in proving the required part(s) is unacceptable. 2. the nhtsa seems to have no oversight or reporting out of the implementation of recalls. the absence of progress reporting creates a false impression that an issue has been addressed. 3. chrysler is remiss in informing owners that parts are available when such is untrue, unless chrysler defines available as meaning some parts have been made. *tr

Two days after purchasing my brand new jeep, i noticed a grease all over the inside of the front passenger side wheel. the other three wheels were normal. upon closer inspection, i could see that the cv boot had come apart and grease was leaking out of it and onto the wheel, axle, shocks and every other component surrounding the leak. i am specifically concerned that the grease could get on the brake discs, causing for difficulty stopping the vehicle. i took it to the nearest dealer where it was confirmed that the part was defective and i would need a new axle. the part unfortunately is backordered with no estimation as to when it will be available because this problem is a common one and there are new jeep grand cherokee and dodge durango owners all over the country who need this very same part for the same issue. there are likely thousands of people driving these vehicles with no idea that their front axles are malfunctioning and it is only a matter of time before it causes an accident that could leave someone seriously injured. *js
