I have replaced the tail lights (4x within 12months), fog light (after one exploded and melted the housing), lights in visor (safety recall), day time running lights (6x), a sensor has quit working on the engine module that tells the engine when it is up to temperature, and the leather dash suddenly warped. my vehicle has 60,000 miles on it and already i have replaced various lights on it (the day time running lights need a trained mechanic) costing me a ton of money. the warped dash was inspected by the manager of rice chrysler dodge in knoxville, tn informed me that the glue allowed the dash to lift and that i would have to pay for this manufacture defect, and i just received a letter in the mail that another safety recall is being issued for the engine stalling that could cause a deadly accident. i think that my vehicle should be registered as a lemon, i have always trusted jeep, always had jeeps, but this one has been a costly mistake. *tr
We received a recall for this jeep last fall(2014). the number is p60/nhtsa 14v-634 labeled alternator. the recall states that the alternator diodes in our vehicle may experience a rapid failure. variability in the failure mode ranges from no output, reduced output, and/or a fully shorted to ground condition. depending on the alternator failure mode and timing, vehicle electrical system voltage may drop to critical levels, disabling systems such as antilock brake system(abs), electronic stability control(ecs), electronic control module(ecm),and/or central body controller(cbc). the driver will have little or no detection of the alternator failing, which can result in vehicle shutdown while driving and/or an underhood electrical fire. we contacted our dealer twice in the last 5 months and both times were told they do not have the parts. by their own statement this could result in a critical and disabling situation. we should have this replaced today or given a safe vehicle to drive until ours is made safe. how long do they get to put off repairing this????? why has jeep not made these parts available? and if they have why are dealers not installing them. our dealer is fox chrysler dodge jeep in auburn, new york. *tr

In general, the car would not start when brake was pressed and the start button was pushed. this happened six times. first four times the engine would just turn over but not start. last two times, the engine started for about two to three seconds then died. attempting to start it again resulted in the engine turning over but not starting. during all of the six attempts the engine only started and stayed running after three or four attempts. when i've taken the vehicle to the dealer i was told that there may be a bad win module, which was supposedly replaced. when asked about the tipm i was told that they have to begin diagnosis starting with other parts. *tr

In april my car started randomly not starting. it's happened 4 times and been in the shop once for this issue. it is going again monday 6/16 for the same issue. it will randomly not start, it randomly tries to stall on me. it will randomly not respond to pushing the power button. it will randomly make a high pitched squealing noise. it is very scary when it tries to stall because i can be riding down the interstate at 65 mph when it happens or sitting still at a red light. i drive over 120 miles per day and i cannot be stranded or stall out in the middle of the road. it's going to the shop again monday to address the issue for the second time. makes the 5th time the car has been in the shop for various issues since i've had it less than 15 months. *js
There are now four separate recalls on this vehicle dating back to 2014 and chrysler jeep has refused to address any of these claiming they do not have the parts. my daughter, who is a full time student in pa, has been to several dealerships (brenner chrysler dodge jeep, manahawkin chrysler dodge jeep, 'blaise alexander chrysler dodge jeep) and placed on a wait list however none of these have ever cleared for any of the recalls chrysler jeep has taken no responsibility to address these recalls in any manner and have inconvenienced a college student let alone put her at unnecessary safety risk. these recalls need to be fixed. she will be in nj from may-august. *tr
