The issue described in nhtsa campaign number 14v104000 has been experienced on multiple occasions over the last 18 months. however, my vin does not indicate that my vehicle is associated with this recall. i believe the investigation should be expanded to determine if a broader set of vehicles is subject to this safety issue. *tr

I was stopped at a light behind a vehicle when suddenly my brake pedal went down to the floor. the road was level with a slight incline. the vehicle began inching forward and i kept trying to pump the brakes. i was unable to locate the emergency brake due and the vehicle stopped after making contact with the car stopped in front of me. i later regained brake pressure and promptly reported the incident to my insurance company and chrysler customer service. prior to the incident, i took my vehicle to the dealership for the brake recall. i was initially told that my brake booster had to be replaced and later told that it just needed the protective brake booster shield. chrysler's solution was to have a rep from engineering analysis conduct tests on my vehicles brake system. on 5 november 2014, i received a letter from chrysler advising me that the inspector found no problems with my brake system. they are refusing to replace the brake booster. i fear that i am at risk of my brake system failing again! this incident could have been fatal had i been on the expressway traveling at 55 mph! *tr
While reversing from a driveway with an incline brakes were not responsive. i would like to file a formal complaint against chrysler for not supplying the parts to dealerships/car owners for all recalls (p14,p36, impending alternator recall, etc). these recalls in my opinion are all extremely dangerous and endanger the general public along with the owner of these vehicles. p-36 vanity light catch fire, p-14 break failure, impending alternator - car loses power unexpectedly. i will also mention our warranty periods have been extended for 5 additional yrs and 50,000 miles due to possible left cylinder head failures. shame on chrysler for not supplying parts and making the dealerships the middle men who also dont help the customers and point back at you. lives are at risk...supply the parts and rectify your poor quality control. *tr

Around sep of this year chrysler notified me of two recalls on my jeep grand cherokee; p36 / nhtsa 14v-391 (sun visor wiring) and p14 / nhtsa 14v-154 (brake booster corrosion).. when i contacted the local dealer they told me to wait until oct as the manufacturer didn't have parts available. i contacted the dealer, planet jeep in flagstaff, az on 10 oct and was told chrysler was rationing parts and that they would place me on a list. i've been in that virtual queue waiting on parts since 10 ocvt 2014 and every time i call the dealer i'm still on the list. i contacted chrysler to complain about the poor service as i've been waiting for parts to fix safety problems for going on three months. i've been through several recalls over the past 40-years and have never experienced an excessive delay like this. it is actually easier to get my mercedes benz repaired and the nearest dealer is a 2 hour drive from hear. chrysler has demonstrated a lack of concern and no sense of urgency to correct two safety issues with my vehicle. their advise to me was to continue contacting my dealer to ensure i'm still on the waiting list. *tr
Battery light came on after approximately 5 miles of driving after starting the car, on 10/5/14. this pattern continued for two days, and on the morning of 10/8/14 the car stopped running completely while i was pulling into the parking lot of the auto shop to have it looked at. while driving, i lost power steering and abs before the car stalled completely a few moments later. i had to have the alternator replaced with only 50,000 miles on the vehicle. several days later i learned of a new recall on chrysler vehicles due to alternator problems, and today i learned my vehicle was not a part of this recall because i have a 180 amp alternator, and those recalled were 160 amp. i am choosing to report this incident because i believe the failure of my alternator could have caused serious injury to myself or other drivers if i had been traveling at high speed when the battery died, and i believe the 180 amp alternators should be investigated for a possible recall. *tr

I visited our local jeep dealership in september of 2014. i explained to the individual behind the service counter that i received a recall notification for a possible brake booster problem and needed to bring my car in for inspection. the individual took out a notebook and added my name to what appeared to be a rather lengthy list. i still have yet to bring my car in for inspection. with such a wet winter, i would think the goal would be to get recalled vehicles in and out in a timely manner to avoid the potential for serious injury. *tr

I did not have an actual incident with the vehicle - my complaint is about the lack of action for certain recalls. i received a recall notice on august 22, 2014 stating that the brake booster on my vehicle may prematurely corrode and ingest water. if the water freezes, the driver may have to apply force which may slow the driver's brake reaction time and cause a crash without warning. quite a frightening scenario. i called my jeep service center and they told me that the repair part for this recall is on backorder due to a parts shortage. i was asked to be put on a list and they would call me when the part arrives. i called the service center on december 18, 2014 (4 months later). i was told that i am number 124 on the waiting list and that they were only at number 40. i was told that chrysler only sends the service center one repair part at a time and when they complete one repair, then chrysler sends them another repair part for the next customer. i then asked the service manager if it is dangerous to drive the vehicle with this faulty part - he did not answer me - all he said was that "he knows what i know". also a frightening scenario. during the 4 months that i have been waiting for this repair, i received another recall notice for an alternator dioide that may experience rapid failure in which voltage may drop to critical levels and disable the antilock brakes, the electronic stability control, the electronic control module, and the central body controller. this may lead to vehicle shutdown and/or an electrical fire. this recall notice states plainly that "the parts required to provide a permanent remedy for this condition are currently not available". crazy! *js
I had brought my grand cherokee in for a recall i received. i was told that i needed a booster and shield for my brakes & they would call me when the parts came in but the car was safe to drive. on 8/13 i called to follow up since i hadn't heard anything from the dealer & was told the parts were on back order and they weren't sure when the parts would be in but again told the car was safe to drive. i explained to them i was hearing air when i pressed on the brake they said that was the booster but it was fine. on 8/15 at 6am on my way to work i was doing 75mph with the flow of traffic. the car infront of me slammed on his brakes i did the same, but my car didn't stop. thankfully it was early enough that i was able to swerve an not crash or die! i then got to work and had my car towed to the closest dealer, i wasn't given the option of a rental car until that evening and with my work hours i was not able to get a rental until monday. i picked up my car on 8/22 after they were able to track down the booster &shield. on my way home about 20min into the drive my traction light and check engine light came on. i took the car to my local dealer & they told me that when the dealer who fixed the booster and shield didn't do the recall properly & didn't adjust the the brake switch properly. i was driving with my brake lights on & the lights stayed on even when i was outside the car. they told me i was lucky that the car didn't power down on me & shut off. they dealer where i was fixed the brake switch thankfully, but more importantly the booster blew on my car and i almost died!!! i feel someone needs to know about this and hope that putting it on here will make people aware that with this recall the car is not safe to drive. i was lucky, but someone else may not be. *tr

On three separate occasions over the past two months, i have experienced an unanticipated engine stall when decelerating from highway speed in order to make a turn (both right and left). in each of these instances, as i was in the turn (or immediately before), the engine stalled, leaving me without power-assisted steering or brakes. this makes the vehicle difficult to control, as the amount of physical force needed to complete a turn is very substantial. in each instance, after bringing the vehicle under control, i was able to restart it by placing the shift selector in "neutral," applying pressure to the brake pedal, and pushing the engine start button. while i have sufficient arm strength to have been able to maintain control in each of these instances, it is, at a minimum, a surprising and unexpected event to have steering and brake assist fail simultaneously. a smaller person could easily lose control of the vehicle under these circumstances. i do not know whether, when this occurs, the airbags are disabled, but that may also be a matter of concern. *tr

This vehicle will stall while you are in drive and driving. there is no indication that the car has stalled. lights and radio are one. when you go to break, the car will not stop. the following do not work, breaks, emergency break, power steering and throwing the car in park. you have to coast until you stop and hope you do not hit anything. once you stop, the car will restart. this is a know issues with this vehicle. it has been in over 3 times to get fix. it does have a recall but that has not fixed the problem. it is currently a deadly weapon.

Went for recall work as soon as i received notice from chrysler. have been waiting over 3 months for parts and dealer does not know when parts will be available. i called chrysler to complain and there only response was, "call your dealer". what good is it to recall vehicles and then not repair them? *tr
I have been waiting for about 6 months to have my vehicle's brake booster repaired. i have contacted brenner chrysler jeep three times about this recall and chrysler once since my first recall notification. each time i have been told that more than 100 vehicles remain ahead of mine at this dealership and parts are being shipped for repair slowly and erratically. i have been refused anything in writing to verify my place on the dealership's repair list. all my calls have been answered with unsympathetic, unconcerned, and uninformed responses, and until now, with chrysler's second notification, i was refused information on how to report this situation to the national highway traffic safety administration when i asked. both brenner and chrysler refuse to update me on the availability of fixing this recall. *tr

Attempted to complete brake booster recall (p14/nhtsa 14v-154) at helfman dodge/jeep in houston on 6/30/14. the dealer will not accept appointments for recalls so the work is only performed first come, first served. helfman is unable to approximate when they will even be able to begin the recall work. according to helfman dodge, chrysler has made no accommodations for customers being without a vehicle for an undefined period of time. helfman advised that i would have to pay for the rental vehicle myself. i do not have any other means of transportation and do not have the ability to take a full day or more off of work to wait to see when the dealer can complete the recall repair. i should not have to pay for my own rental vehicle for a recall repair. because i cannot make an appointment, and the dealer does not know when they will be able to perform the work and thus must keep the car for an undetermined period of time, i do not have the luxury of taking a day or two off work to sit 11 hours in the waiting room hoping they can get to my car then repeating this the next day if it was not repaired, and because i should not have to pay for the rental vehicle during a recall repair, i am unable to complete this recall repair on my 2012 jeep. chrysler is not making any accommodations to customers to make this repair practical for the typical vehicle owner. *tr
I received a safety recall notice campaign p14 / nhtsa 14v-154 related to a problem with the brake booster. i contacted my dealer to schedule a service appointment and was informed that they do not have the parts needed for this recall. when i asked how i should proceed with getting the recall taken care of they stated i should check back with them in one month to see if they have received any parts. i find this highly unacceptable that chrysler issues a recall notice without already having supplied dealers with the recall parts. the dealer did even offer to put me on a notification list, simply said i should check back. *tr
I received an "important safety recall" notice from chrysler for my car. it says that the brake booster needs to be inspected and then replaced or a protective brake booster shield needs to be installed. i called chris nickel jeep chrysler dodge to schedule an appointment and they state that they have no parts for this and have no eta on when a fix will be available. the notice also said that if the dealer fails or is unable to remedy this defect within a reasonable time, i was supposed to notify the administrator of nhtsa at this website. that is what this complaint is for. *tr
