Shortly after my husband got home we heard someone honking their horn outside of our apartment, so we looked and our vehicle was on fire. it was parked and not running when it happened.

The fuse box under hood is labeled incorrectly and on the cover states spare fuses in cavity 29 and 30. however, it is acctually the airbags which is why it is in a yellow safety holder and also the original manual that comes with the jeep states that it is the airbag. however directly on the box under the hood it says cavity 29 and 30 are spares which are causing people to pull them out and use them as spares elsewhere unaware that they are in danger

Intermittent stalling issue. initially the vehicle starts and runs fine. after stopping or extended driving duration the vehicle will random start stalling and check engine light flashes and dings. this will last for a few minutes sometimes and other times the entire trip. the last few times this has happened we were nearly rear ended and pulled over until it was somewhat drive able. i am terrified to drive it at this time for fear it will cause an accident. this has been an ongoing issue for a few years and has recently gotten worse. we've taken the vehicle to the jeep dealership several times and have had numerous parts replaced but nothing has resolved the problem. the last trip to the dealer they said they could not replicate the described issue. with the use of a scope and code review, my husband has taken to replacing smaller, simple parts in hopes of a simple solution....spark plugs, 02 sensors and catalytic converters. nothing has helped. please help resolve this issue. seeing all the other similar complaints, how many does it take to start an investigation or recall? it's a shame an accident it what it may take to attract attention to this issue.

When vehicle goes over a small or large bump, a dashboard light cluster indicates to service 4wd system and is accompanied by abs, traction control, and esp bas warning lights. abs is noticeably disabled when this light cluster appears. the indications usually last a few minutes before going away. this has been occurring for approximately the last 18,000 miles. when brought up at the dealership during routine maintenance, i am told they can find nothing wrong with the vehicle. on this last occasion, i lost full braking authority and was luckily able to gradually slow down and pull over to the freeway shoulder while applying the emergency brake. when the vehicle was shut off and turned back on the indications went away and braking was restored. obviously, this creates a very dangerous situation.

All dashboard warning lights come on. loss of electrical power. no headlights, no brake lights. speedometer doesn't work, tachometer doesn't work, radio doesn't work. no power locks or windows. anything electrical doesn't work. the battery is good. the vehicle runs. but it is unsafe. the vehicle is crap. never buy a jeep! they are total crap

Transfer case, suspension and ignition switch seems to be causing major issues after 105,000 miles and the "warranty" just ended just before all these issues started happening. when tried to start once the engine shuttered then turned off. started up after that, but then it has issues wanting to accelerate and can feel the jeep struggling at times to switch gears or whatever the transfer case may assist in. also have noticed the suspension has start to rock.

Takata recall my car leaks water inside , when it rain, whn i go to lock or unlock my car with the remote started it starts the car

Takata recall all the dash lights come on from battery, check engine, low tire pressure, code read 0411 & well not pick up speed.

Riding down rode. speedometer and lights failed. took to dealership while the vehicle was at the shop the walked away to file paperwork and airbags deployed on the vehicle. it was the right side air curtain. the entire length of the unit. according to the dealership the car was sitting motionless on the garage floor.

This is the third time i receive a letter on the mail from jeep named as "important safety recall information" stating that my car has been recalled due to a defect relating to motor vehicle safety, more specifically: unintended change in ignition switch position that implies a safety risk. i went on the safecar.gov site to confirm the status of my recall and it says that there is a recall in effect on my car model but unfortunately jeep doesn't have the part replacement yet. i want this problem fixed asap.

My 2007 jeep g.cherokee can be on the highway traveling 55 mph and then decided to die. it will shut off and cannot increase speed. i have a one year old in the back seat and this has happened to many times while having my son the back seat and trying to get over to the break down lane before it completely dies. also doesn't start some days some will. defiantly have electrical proven like in the recall. their is a fuel relay recall there is a many recalls for the same things happening to my jeep and it's becoming a hazard and scary for me traveling with my son.

Vehicle had an ignition switch recall (p41) which was replaced by dealer. after replacement part failed and vehicle was towed to dealer for repair march 4, 2017. dealer informed me that the replaced ignition coil had failed and they would further repair as part of recall. vehicle, 7 weeks later, is still not repaired. i have escalated my case from the dealership to jeep national and vehicle still not repaired with no update. i was informed during this process that my car is a "one-off", the replacement recall part that was intended for my vehicle does not work in my vehicle and that jeep is further researching how to repair. i am filing a complaint due to timeliness of repair. while recall repair has been free of charge, original part replacement took less than one day. dealership has been evaluating recall part for seven weeks and still do not have any information of when vehicle will be repaired/returned. jeep originally offered a loaner vehicle which i turned down as i was told repair would be only a couple of days. i have now requested several times for a comparable loaner vehicle while jeep is still evaluating the repair. jeep will not provide a loaner vehicle and i am told it is because my car is no longer under warranty. while i understand warranties, jeep has my car because of failed recall replacement part and they will not put in original part due to recall. jeep also closed out the recall on my vehicle. please advise.

The original problem was a battery light that came on when the car was being driven during a light rain. the solution suggested by our normal mechanic (who is very good and has serviced the car for years) was to replace the alternator and then it was noted the battery was bad. it was replaced since it was three years old. after the repair the car started to die intermittently while being driven. the car was taken back to the mechanic who check the diagnostics and said it appeared to be pointing to the ignition switch (based on their diagnostic flowchart). the mechanics service technician was able to duplicate the stalling in the vehicle when he drove it. suggested we take back to the dealer who had replaced the ignition switch tumblers during the recall for this vehicle last november. the dealer wanted a $85 diagnostic fee to just check the switch. we received a download of the diagnostic codes which appear to be related to multiple failures of ignition modules but the dealer reported his service technician had not been able to duplicate the failure. he thought it might be the tipm but was sure it was not the switch. he was unable to tell us what the failure was and said we would have to pay for more diagnostics if he was to find out what exactly it was. i took it back to my mechanic who replaced alternator. however, as i was driving the car last saturday it died after we stopped at a railroad crossing waiting on a train and then tried to cross the tracks after the arms had gone up. the crossing t-bones into another road and a very deep bar ditch at the side of that road. the crossing was a steep incline. almost put car in ditch. my wife would not have been able to control and stop it as i barely was able to. after reviewing other similar complaints i now believe it is the tipm. this is safety related since all safety equipment is tied to this.

Soon after the p41 ignition switch recall, while driving 1 mile, the instrument cluster gauges stopped working-speedo, gas, etc , all warning lights illuminated . information messages in the ic noted "service required : and transmission -over the temperature allowed u1403,u1411,u110e, u110f and others all implausible signals to ic. while driving transmission an road speed decreased immediately while at speed and engine and transmission to not operate in a predictably safe operation. these are the symptoms that the recall was to repair. what is the next step?

The vehicle typically stalls while driving at highway speeds but has stalled on city streets. when the vehicle stalls i am able to turn the ignition back on and drive. i have had the p41 / nhtsa 14v-438 recall and this did not resolve the issues. it is stalling even more often now. i have had this issue for the last 3 years i have owned the vehicle. i have taken it in for repair to 3 different repair shops not including the recall and it is still not fixed. this is a major safety concern. the vehicle stalled one particular time and i was almost hit by a bus on the highway. when the vehicle stalls you lose power steering and i was lucky enough to make it out of the way. the current mileage is approximately 132,500.

The following events happened over a period of 2 weeks. when in motion on highway, instrument panel lost power, then came back on and all control panel lights lit up, then went off. while in motion on highway, instrument panel went blank--cycled on and off several times then returned to normal. when engine was off, ignition was off and key was out of ignition, lights were turned off, headlights turned on and off twice for no reason. while driving on highway on slight incline, engine lost power for a few seconds then returned to normal. vehicle has been to a certified jeep repair shop and they could not find the problem. (see attached)

Vehicle has been to dealership four times for the same problem. after driving longer than 10-15 minutes turning the jeep off and trying to restart within 5-10 minutes it won't start. let it sit for minimum of 20 minutes will start. the relays get very warm but after cooling, the car starts. dealership has zinged us for a new starter, it didn't need, a new pcm, it didn't need. testing my own theory 3 consecutive times in one day, drove the vehicle at least 30 minutes. turned off and attempted to restart (as you would a quick trip to the store) and nothing but waiting each time, car starts after cooling. picked up the jeep two days ago from dealership who had it 18 days trying to fix it (3rd time)and the first trip that day resulted in another occurrence of the same problem.

I have waited over 2 years for a recall on my ignition switch. p41/nt htsa 14v-438. i want t o know when i can expect this corrected? i have called the local dealerships every 3 months to hear " we are still waiting for the parts".

On several occasions, while coming to a stop the engine shut itself off for no reason. it then repeatedly tried to restart itself, even with the key in the "off" position. when this happens power steering is lost causing hard steering. the dealer performed the ignition switch recall claiming that would resolve the problem. this problem continued after the recall repair was performed.

For over a year now, i have been receiving notices about a jeep safety recall and i have called several different states seeking the ignition switch and no one has it. i have recently experiences two separate driving occasions where i've completely lost engine power and power steering assist; it's really scaring me and i don't feel safe in the vehicle, especially with two small children in tow as this is my family car. the consumer referenced recall # 14v438000. updated 03/10/16.*jb

While driving or parked with engine running all dash warning lights flash on and off any interior lights that are on turn off, radio turns off and heater/ac and fan turn off for a couple seconds then turn back on. usually the check engine light will then stay on for a few more cycles. engine, power steering and brakes and head lights all continue to work throughout the cycle. this will happen numerous times in one day or go for a month without doing it at all.
