Problems with 2015 Jeep Cherokee ENGINE

On average, the 2015 Jeep Cherokee starts to “feel” problems with the ENGINE and its various aspects after 27 460 miles.

Recently reported ENGINE problems on 2015 Jeep Cherokee

2015 jeep cherokee radiator leak, needs replacement, vehicle meticulously maintained, serviced by local chrysler/dodge/jeep dealer. three year old vehicle with 70,000 should not need a radiator replacement. wondering if this is a common issue that should be covered under a recall.

Periodicallly, car will not start at first. when it does, it says service transmission. transmission jumps and will not shift into second. when it is so shift, the transmission dies. i have to stop, put it in park and start over.

The car lurches forward when stopped and has started the car has physically started jumping forward while and seem to have a lot of trouble changing from one gear to the next. i had the car in when i first purchased it and they could find nothing wrong. it has done this off and on since i have owned the car.

Tl* the contact owned a 2015 jeep cherokee. while driving approximately 25 mph, the vehicle caught fire and the engine exploded. the contact stated that smoke escaped from underneath the hood on the front driver's side. the contact stated that the front two tires also exploded. a police report was filed. the vehicle was towed to a tow yard and was awaiting inspection. the fire department extinguished the fire. there were no injuries sustained. the vehicle was destroyed. a dealer was not made aware of the failure. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure was not diagnosed. the failure mileage was approximately 38,000.

After driving car less than 5 miles on local roads at a slow speed, smoke began to come from the hood. i parked the car and exited the vehicle. shortly after exiting the vehicle the vehicle was consumed by flames and an explosion happened. fire department was on scene and a witness to the explosion. *dt*jb

When trying to start vehicle the dash electronics flash transmission maintenance required, brake maintenance required. the steering wheel gets hard to turn. when you put your foot on the brake to turn over the engine the car stutters as if there is no battery power. it turns over once, starts, then shuts off. the car will start once then you will need to step on the gas while still in park for the car to stay on. cause unknown.

Driving up grade coming to a stop, then starting again, the transmission spins then bangs into gear, a violent movement. and now my car is just stalling. usually when starting out down a grade after taking my foot off accelerator, car stalles

My fiancee purchased a 2015 jeep cherokee suv 4x4 (certified pre-owned w/ additional, extended warranty) one (1) month ago almost to the day of this incident report. while she was driving the vehicle very early in the morning (approximately 5-5:30am), the car became non-functional and the instrument cluster flickered with warning lights appearing. the car was in motion when this occurred with no outside forces or factors to cause this to happen. the engine completely shut off and the car stalled immediately, while still moving. the electrical was on and display worked, however; the car would not go at all. the car behind her had to slam on their brakes and luckily no accident occurred. had it been any later in the day or on a busy, major highway; i fear it would have been much worse. we have now brought it to a dealership for diagnosis and they cannot get to the car for at least two (2) weeks with no loaner cars available. we were advised to call jeep directly and go over the situation and they offered no help at all but to *potentially* reimburse rental costs while the car would be repaired (much later after the rental needs to be paid). this is our second jeep and i am absolutely dissatisfied with this as this could have cost my fiancee her life and the life of others. we now do not know the best path forward and are trying to figure out a solution to either repair or replace the vehicle. maybe legal action is required. for being "certified pre-owned" the level of trust has definitely been reduced if not lost completely. i hope this gets resolved soon and that jeep really understands the severity of the issue. if a recall is necessary to prevent injury or death, please fix this and make it right. people buy these cars to be your customers - don't do wrong by them and risk their lives to prevent spending towards the resolution of a common problem.

I purchased a 2015 jeep cherokee latitude september 2018 with 64,000 miles on it. when driving vehicle on the street, the vehicle will jerk really hard like it is changing gears. if i am putting vehicle in reverse and leaving out of my drive way, the vehicle jerks. whenever i am driving at a low speed (0-45mph) the vehicle jerks. when coming to a complete stop, like a stop sign, red light, or heavy traffic, vehicle jerks once i accelerate. i took my vehicle to dealer to be serviced on november 3, 2018 regarding this issue and i was told they found no problems but there was an update (rrt) completed on vehicle. i took my vehicle back to dealership on saturday, november 17, 2018 for electrical component services and complained about the same issue and was told vehicle is not showing any problems but my thermostat needed replacing due to thermostat rationality code. i scheduled an appointment for a future date to the service. also had low beam headlight fixed was told the bulb didn't need replacing that somehow it came unscrewed. headlight was working before i left, later on that day headlight went out again. i live in houston where the temps re now in the 50s highs 60s and i had my heater on, all of a sudden i started to smell smoke like oil smoke. but i don't have any lights coming on on my dashboard. can you please tell why is my automatic vehicle driving like it's manual and with it only having 1 previous owner that all of these things are happening???

While driving car home from work in sunny weather conditions, the cars dash beeped and lit up with the battery warning. my car stopped exelerating but all of the electrical in the car still worked. after trying to get it to turn over again it just rattled. i was able to get a jump and head home where we looked deeper into the problem. we finally took it to a mechanic who said that the starter, battery, alternator were all working and in good condition and had no clue why it would have died on me for no reason. i do not feel safe driving my child around on the highway or any busy/construction areas if my car could stop on a dime without warning. not fixing this problem could result in someone getting hurt or even killed.

Start/stop failing to work or works when it shouldn't. i took my jeep to the local dealer 4 or 5 times. one visit they kept it for 3 days. they even talked to chrysler regarding this issue. so they replaced the battery for this. didn't help. now the warning still comes on at different times. sometimes it doesn't shut down at all when i come to a complete stop and sometimes it does. i also noticed the jeep not shifting right. this has happened 5-6 times. not sure if one thing is connected to another but i am very concerned. i have my 3 grandchildren in the jeep often and don't like this faulty issue. what are my options?

I was stopped at a traffic light and the car just stalled. i had to restart the car twice before it turned on, drove about 2 mins and had to stop for someone turning & the car stalled again. that time only took one try to restart.

Today being 7/26/2018. today my vehicle just shut down while coming to a stop sign in the morning, and again in the afternoon when making a u-turn. and for about 2 weeks before, a few times i felt the engine attempt to shut off when coming to stop signs and lights, which the vehicle shaking would take place and the motor sounded like it was going to die. in the case of transmission, for the past month in random moments while stopped at an incline or turning onto an incline street, the gears would delay shifting into the next gear, and it would sound like rpm was reaching higher than normal rotations before actually shifting into the next gear, the car jerking from the catch. all events occurred while vehicle was in motion, on streets, both when turning or stopping, or incline climb involved.

Engine dies while driving down the road & after 10-15 minutes vehicle will start. this has happened numerous times & each time i have brought it back to normandin jeep in san jose, ca. of course it is running each time when i get to the dealership & i always get the same story. low oil or oil pressure. i currently have less than 40,000 miles on the jeep & my first incident began with 15,000 miles ......... then again & again & again. i live in silicon valley & have a one year old son. the freeways are busy and this has become a dangerous situation. according to my online research ........ this is an inherent problem with the jeep cherokee ..........but ........ the dealership does not want to admit this. on my last visit about a month ago (less than 40,000 on odometer) they (normandin) told me the problem was with the oil pressure sending unit & this would not be covered under warranty ..........even though this issue began a couple years ago. service manager said that because this has been an ongoing problem .......... he would replace the unit and charge me only $100. with a job & a one year old child ..... i certainly did not have the time to argue. they replaced the unit & filled my jeep with oil and i left the dealership. well ............ my jeep just stranded me again . same problem & i keep calling the dealership (for the past 5 days) and the service manager has not returned my call. i simply do not have the time for this. plus i am scared to be on the road to my work with my young son in the back seat (i drop him off at day care). i write the nhtsa because i'm aware that there are so many people who have experienced this issue. only difference is that perhaps their local jeep dealer repairs the problem ............ whether it be with a new engine or whatever. can you please help ?

While in motion, the vehicle shuts off without warning. a message on the dash says put the car in park to start. the car consumes large amounts of synthetic oil, which should last up to 6 months but only lasts between 700-1000 miles per quart. the oil light does not come on indicating that the oil is low. it flashes across the screen too fast for the driver to see the warning. when the oil is low, the car begins to shut itself off while in motion. this has happened while driving at both high and low rates of speed on city streets and a highway during rush our traffic, nearly causing a collision with vehicles behind me.

The fan belt shredded at 37,000 miles. i believe the pulleys were part of the problem. driving down the road, the belt shredded. it started overheating quickly.

Faulty transmission gear shifting

After a routine oil change, i proceeded to exit a parking lot at 10 mph, pressed gently on gas pedal and heard a very loud pop. vehicle immediately lost power and was extremely loud. i returned the vehicle to the jeep dealership that performs my maintenance, and they stated there was a large hole in the exhaust flex pipe. the vehicle is less than 3 years old and less than 60000 miles on it.

I need to file a complaint against jeep. the transmission in my 2015 cherokee is awful and a safety concern. the vehicle jerks around so much when i'm driving it, i'm concerned it's eventually going to cause an accident. in traffic it punches forward and stops abruptly because of the transmission. i have taken it back to try to get it fixed and have been told that's just how it is. it's awful that i spent so much money on this vehicle i'm actually scared to drive. anytime i have a passenger they comment on how the car jerks and unpleasant it is to ride in. i thought it was just me getting a lemon and something i have to deal with but i went online today and there are so many other 2015 cherokee latitude owners with the same problem. it's really terrible and the company should be ashamed because this is going to lead to many accidents.

Automatic, shift moving to standard or neutral

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 jeep cherokee. while driving between 18 and 40 mph, the contact heard a chiming sound and the battery warning indicator illuminated. within three seconds, the "shift to park designated gear" warning indicator also illuminated and the vehicle stalled. the vehicle was towed to the dealer (chrysler, dodge, and ford fiat of bay ridge, 8635 18th avenue, brooklyn, ny 11209). the dealer stated that they would perform diagnostic testing and notify the contact of the results. the manufacturer instructed the contact to notify them after the dealer completed the diagnostic test. the vehicle was not repaired. the vin was unknown. the failure mileage was 20,005.

I have been having issues with what i assume is the transmission. when stopped on an incline, when i go to accelerate the whole front of the vehicle bucks and makes lots of noise. it sounds like gears are grinding and it is fighting to get traction. also, when back up my driveway it feels like the rear wheels are slipping and fight to get traction as well. it started to happen when driving down the highway on a flat surface at like 30 mph as well. i have already taken it to a dealership where they performed a software update on the transmission. it has not fixed the problem, but has made it less frequent. i have already taken it back to the dealership again. the vehicle is still under the powertrain warranty. i have taken videos of the problem occuring.

The vehicle's low oil light indicator only flashes across the screen and does not remain on. this only takes place when the car is completely out of oil and the car loses power and shuts off while in motion. the vehicle has no leaks but requires oil every 700 miles or so. the engine runs off synthetic oil which should have to be replaced less frequently, but this vehicle needs oil replacement every 2-3 months.

Brake pedal that slings forward after releasing and making a slamming noise, plastic parts just falling off inside from under the dash, the trim falling off on the outside, the obvious transmission, the power liftgate releasing and refusing to close on its own, the display screen blinking and occasionally refusing to respond, the tire pressure gage indicating a warning of pressure to 51psi then seconds later changing to 31psi (this one occured after the latest software update), gps is unbelievably unreliable, uconnect takes control when not given permission, start/stop button does not work everytime. shutting the vehicle off has been difficult. alt feature does not work about half the time, battery has had to be replaced two times. the inside liner around the roof not attached, the left back wheel the trim is popped off. the vehicle refused to go when at a busy intersection 4 days ago and almost caused a collision. gas pedal was pushed down for 5 seconds before it started to move.

Service shifter prompt, all lights on gear shifter light up at the same time, sometimes will not let me shift, sometimes does not effect driving but will not go away until car is parked and turned off for a period of time

I bought this vehicle in 12/31/2017 as used from wally armour in salem ohio, it only had 11000 miles on it and smelled brand new still. the first incident i had noticed when i was driving the rpms/engine would rev really high and loud but the car was only going 55 and it seemed to be in the wrong gear but i was in the automatic drive position which should not cause this, i could understand if i was in standard stick shift and if i would down shift it would cause it to do that. then i started noticing a hesitation in the take off of the vehicle so when i was at a stop light and turning left it waiting for oncoming traffic it will hesitate and god for bid there is a car coming and it is hesitating and then all of a sudden it will lurch forward and i get thrown forward then backward in my seat as if i was hit from behind by another vehicle but there was no one behind my vehicle and it will jar my neck causing pain, i had neck surgery in 2016 with a cage put in and a fusion of 2 cadaver bones, i am in no condition for my vehicle to be lurching forward as if it is getting hit from behind. this is not a one time incident either it is on going daily. i am hoping for a resolution to this problem i have taken it in once and plan on taking it in again to have them look at possibly doing something to it to fix it.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 jeep cherokee. when the brake pedal was depressed, the vehicle inadvertently stalled and lost power. while attempting to restart the vehicle, it failed to crank for one minute. the contact stated that a "please switch to p then desired gear" indicator illuminated. the vehicle was taken to nashville chrysler dodge jeep ram (new owners freeland jeep) (5800 crossings blvd, antioch, tn 37013, (615) 866-6060), but the failure could not be replicated. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that there were no recalls associated with the vin. the approximate failure mileage was 33,000.

Transmission slamming hard in rd3 and 4th gear in motion, engine stalling at stop, refusing to start. all trim falling off inside and out. took to dealer they said nothing wrong. took back again 2 months later they said software update would fix it. fixed for about a week then all started again. they didn't even address the trim and liner issue. gps also completely off and it wont update either. i purchased this in 2016 dec. the entire thing is just falling apart plastic pieces are falling out from under the dash! cant get help and paid 2500 extra for warranty they wont fix a non fixable issue.

When reaching the top of a hill, and you let off the gas, the car slams into gear extremely hard because the transmission can't adjust.

Takata recall. car stalls losing all power while driving when oil change is needed. oil change light came on recently. car has been stalling in the middle of driving on the road. also happened last time oil change light came on. was told by jeep dealer that it is common. very dangerous.

While driving on sunday my jeep suddenly without notice or warning shut off and would not restart, i was stranded in middle of the road since there was no warning i had no time to pull to side. aaa towed to clark chrysler/jeep where it was bought and under extended warranty. all pm's have been done there and done timely. what they found was jeep was down 3 qts of oil, i asked how that could be and why would engine shut off so abruptly they claim the 2.4 engines use 1qt per 1,000 miles, that no indicator or warning comes on and engine will shut off to protect it. no where is it listed in owners manual, i have been in automotive for over 30 years and if an engine burns a qt per 1,000 you rebuild or buy a new engine, i am now told i must check and add oil every 1,000 miles on a 2015 with only 42,000 miles! safety concern is if anyone is on highway it could cause death with a sudden stoppage of vehicle, i was left in the middle of of a country road and aaa had police come to help block me from traffic passing around me, i never heard of anything like this so i called jeep and melisa on their consumer line confirmed with service tech ian hogan and told me that she is told it happens and there is no warning , how can jeep think this is safe without at least notifying owners to be aware?

Vehicle rpms rev up to 4000-5000 when going down hills on city streets going 15-20mph. vehicle randomly accelerates when not hitting gas and vehicle not on cruise control. vehicle jerks when changing gears. vehicle also studders when pulling out on city streets. purchased the vehicle on october 21, 2017 with 34,000 miles. took vehicle to certified jeep mechanic on november 6, 2017 with my complaint. they stated the transmission needed to be 'flashed'. i picked the vehicle back up at 4:30pm. after leaving it immediately started doing the same thing. when approaching a stop light on a city street as i began to slow down the vehicle shut completely off in the middle of the road. i took the vehicle straight back to the mechanic and told them what happened. they gave me a rental vehicle as they were closing and didn't have time to investigate the problem. i picked the vehicle back up on november 7, 2017. they stated there was nothing wrong with the vehicle. this vehicle is very unsafe as it randomly accelerates and cuts off randomly while driving. jeep needs to recall this model before someone gets killed. every time i drive this vehicle i am worried it's going to cause an accident. i've owned the vehicle for only three short weeks and i've already had it in the shop twice. i haven't even made my first payment.

While driving in a 50 mph zone on a major roadway in the town i reside in my vehicle decided it no longer want to go. even with my foot on the gas pedal i could see the needle for revs moving when i pushed the pedal, but the car wouldn't move. i took my foot off the gas and tried the pedal again. same result the car would rev but not go aside from a stuttering /light jerking, almost as if it didn't want to change gears. i have had rough shifts from the day we drove this off the lot. i was told time and time again that it was part of the break in period and there were no codes spitting out until this past summer where i got the service shifter problem a second time that was accompanied with service 4 wheel drive. i never have used this vehicle off road and maybe twice for virginia snow. i took it to the dealership and there was a recall, which they have fixed. but now we are back to the same symptoms only now the vehicle wants to stop forward motion while driving. it is at the dealership and they are saying it was a wiring issue. this vehicle is not safe. how many people need to be in this vehicle before an accident happens. luckily for me i was the only car on that section of the road but if i wasn't i would have been rear ended especially during rush hour.

My car has been stalling on the first drive of the morning for 4 days. starts up and it's fine after that. yesterday while videoing it to show a dealer, i heard a ding. saw nothing on the panel. reviewed the video, and i can only speculate it said oil pressure low. it lasted less than half a second and disappeared. i checked my oil and found it to be barely registering on the stick. it took 2 1/2 quarts to fill it. my oil change sticker states i'm 1200 miles away from the 4000 mark the dealer puts on it. i was told today by a jeep dealer, that the 2.4 engine in the cherokee will use a quart of oil every 750-1000 miles if over 50,000 miles. i have 56,580 miles. the problem is when oil is low, the car will stall to prevent damage as a safety feature. unfortunately this has caused me to have to coast across a busy two lane road while making a turn, so i could have been hit. it then takes 2-3 time to crank it over to restart it. this was not disclosed to me when i purchased the car with 40,009 miles on it. the dealers say this is perfectly normal for this engine to burn oil. i don't believe any manuracturer should sell vehicles that "burn" oil at a quart per 1000 miles. i bought a newer car for less maintenance. now i have to add oil once a month to my car. not to mention that if a dummy light or message comes on regarding something substantial to shut your car off, why does the message only flash so you can't even read it? i had to watch the video to see possibly what it said. i am unable to send the video from my phone because it is too large. i'm trying to get it to sync so i can send it. this is the flash of the warning message, not an actual stall.

For the last two weeks, my 2015 jeep cherokee has been at an auto body shop to repair damage made from a break in. i have not driven my car since september 22nd. this morning, after finalizing the paperwork with the repair facility and paying a deductible, i was able to finally drive my jeep again. pulled out of the body shop's parking lot, onto a city street, drove not even a quarter of a mile and maybe a minute or so into the drive and the dashboard icon of the battery illuminated, the notification sound played, and the car slowed to a stop again. also, the notification center displayed "shift to park". luckily this time i stopped at a red light. i shifted into park, placed my hazard lights on, and waved the cars that were behind me to drive around. made the attempt to restart twice with no such luck. the third attempt saw the car turn back on successfully. the repair facility that i left is thankfully a few miles away from the dealership in which i lease the cherokee. i drove immediately to the dealer, placed the car in front of the service department, and walked in to discuss the problem with the service department. after talking with one member of the service department, he stated that he would try to squeeze the cherokee in for some testing but couldn't guarantee it because there were many cars scheduled for service and only one person available to possibly look at my car. finally, after a few hours in the customer waiting area, i was told that the jeep was low on oil. and that the cherokee along with the chrysler 200, and another car that i cannot remember at the moment are designed to stall when the amount of oil becomes low. the service department employee said that this was a "european design safety feature" for the car. i kept the cherokee at the dealership for them to continue to investigate this problem on this upcoming monday the 10th of october.

Driving down the freeway and i suddenly have no power. i could push the throttle pedal to the floor with no response. i had to make it across multiple lanes of traffic going 75mph and pull to the shoulder. i tried restarting and it shuttered and died, twice. let it sit for a min and then it restarted. it happened 2 days later. this time i was pulling away from a stop sign and i had no throttle response. i slammed the gas pedal to the floor and it shuttered and got power again.

At 47,351 miles the cylinder head on cylinder # 4 failed causing the engine to stall and run rough. jeep dealer is replacing it under a factory warranty

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 jeep cherokee. on several occasions, while driving, the vehicle stalled without warning. the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, but the vehicle was not diagnosed. the vehicle was then towed to cortland chrysler dodge jeep (3878 west rd, cortland, ny 13045 (877) 279-3113), but no diagnostic failure codes were found and the failure could not be replicated. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 36,500.

I parked the jeep and turned it off and when inside for 10 minutes and started the car to leave and a bunch of lights came on like service engine and drive train. i put it in reverse and a huge clunk from the transmission happened i backed up and put it in forward and a huge clunk happened again. it shocked the whole car. i went forward and it barley would go. it took along time to get up to speed. it kind of shook and was really scarey. i brought it to the jeep dealer and barely made it. the guy said the techs where all gone for the day. i couldn't leave it there so i started it back up and it worked fine. the check engine light was still on though. the next day i started it up and the light was off. it worked fine for 3 days until it all happened again the same stuff. so i turned it off and started it 10 minutes later and it was fine. it is a leased jeep and i am going to bring it in this friday. i want this fixed. i have read lots of the same problems with 100s of other people and it sounds like they are just giving people the run around. this is very unsafe and i want a new jeep or a new transmission. i do not have any time to be going back to the dealership all the time or do i want to die in a car accident. the next thing that happens a that people are saying is that it will shift out of gear on the freeway and lots of people have almost crashed because of this. thank you please let me know what you will do about this.

Car does not accelerate from 3rd into 4th gear at times. it has a lag time before it switches gears into 4th on a 9-speed automatic.

Car is burning oil and shutting off on the road, which i or my children, can easily get hurt or killed. have tried to have resolved numerous times with unsatisfactory results from the car lot. as advised from the service manager this is normal under chrysler standards.

My gas cap light has been on for 2 years. i apparently am the only one with this issue and have been told there is nothing that can be done as they need a flash to reset the motherboard. in the meantime to rule things out i had to have the vapor test done and replace the gas cap which of course solvee nothing.

Driving my vehicle over the weekend while in motion on a city street my vehicle turned off and then turned back on, the vehicle turned completely off no power could not do anything the vehicle turned on and was able to continue driving. where my family and i were extremely nervous the remainder of the time while driving home. thank god i was not driving on a busy highway where this problem could have caused an accident where my family and myself could have gotten seriously hurt or worse could have killed someone in my vehicle or any other vehicle due to an accident. when the vehicle turned on again the check engine light came on and the start and stop system light came on advising to have the system checked, the rest of the time the vehicle was being driven home it constantly sounded like it was going to loose power and turn off.

Takata recall - the engin indicator light came on, on my way home but disappeared the morning when i started the jeep. a few days later i drove it to a location where i stayed for 2 hours, left and got home where i stayed for a few minutes. came back out to use the vehicle but the engine didn't 'turn over' . called the service because i thought it was the battery. they re-boot the car & i let the engine run for 1/2 hr. per his instruction. the went to a drive thru and decided to head home but shortly after the jeep shuts off at a stop light. i waited 5 min then restart and headed home with my hazard light flashing. i called the dealer and got 'an available' appointment four day thereafter.

I bought my jeep with 12,000 miles. i have taken it to the dealer 3x so far for the same exact issues. transmission clunking, lurching, wont down shift at low speeds. when in traffic below 20mph some times it revs for a few seconds and doesn't move and then the vehicle lurches forward. sometimes it just has no acceleration like its stuck a few gears too high. the shift going into 5th gear sometimes feels like i got rearened it shifts so hard. when this happens the vehicle jerks back and fourth and has a metallic bang going into 5th. the 5th gear hard shift is intermittent. the bogging, lurching and refusal to down shift at slower speeds is constant. dealer has yet to be able to do anything but computer updates. they say its "normal". it is very dangerous in traffic because you never know what its going to do when you try and accelerate. i can't count the number of times i have tried to cross in between traffic and the truck refuses to go or just moves at a turtle speed.once i press the accelerator hard enough it will down shift hard enough to break the tires loose and peel out when it lurches ahead. it is very troubling and i don't want to let anyone besides myself drive it because i dont want them to get in an accident. i can also assume that all of these hard shifts are causing a lot of premature wear on my drive train. its like putting the car in neutral, revving it up and then slamming it into gear. it is a daily occurence.

Faulty engine sensors causes the car stall at anytime. was driving when stopped at a red light my car stalled and the dashboard light up along with multiple error messages. it took 15 times for my car to restart. this issue is a completely unsafe and putting the driver and passengers at great risk. currently my car is in the shop but have read similar stories online saying that this particular problem is associated with a transmission issue. many stated this is known issue at chrysler which they have done nothing to action the consumer.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 jeep cherokee. when the accelerator pedal was depressed, the vehicle failed to respond and rolled back in reverse. the check engine and service transmission indicators illuminated. the vehicle was taken to a local dealer (perkins motors located at 1205 motor city dr colorado springs, co 80905) where it was diagnosed that the system needed to be updated. the vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 28,000.

While driving on the freeway at 65mph, the car gave me a "transmission service" alarm and then the car lost power and eventually stopped. no response to acceleration and eventually to steering control. i turned off the engine and waited approximately 3 minutes, turned the key and then the car started and was able to drive it with no issues. it was a dangerous situation that could have ended with catastrophic consequences. the car was bought from overseas military sales in sicily, italy and the incident occurred in sicily.

The vehicle accelerates when i am trying to slow down. this happened top me while driving in my neighborhood and happened to me while driving down the highway. almost caused me to hit another vehicle. had this issue before when car was almost brand new, took it to the dealership and they flashed the system. said it was a recall. car drove fine for a while but now i am having the same issue again.

One morning i started the car, i heard water moving from the engine area. while, driving the car i heard a noise's like a pressure cooker sounds. once i arrived at work i walked around to the passage side to retrieve my staff. i could smelled antifreeze. i contacted jeep right away and they contact a tow company. it was drop off. the dealership worked on it for a couple days. they did pressure test for external leak, didn't locate a leak. they didn't do a internal examine. it's 2 year old vehicles already leaking antifreeze. i have my vehicle into the dealership twice but still smell antifreeze. two pressure test later nothing. i just pickup my vehicle for the second time. why is jeep vehicles having so many problem. my psi, transmission and radio making sounds when its off. jeep is a bad vehicle and it just a matter of time, humans might be in damage due to the uncaring manufacturing company that makes lot's of money of the back of working americans.
