Transmission failure while driving. car failed to accelerate while on a city street, transmission and parking light came on. when car was able to be re-started, loud "clunk" sound occurred when gears shifted. car had to be towed to dealership. fear for safety of me and my two children to drive car and have transmission fail and car stall while on the road. after researching and reading similar incidents that have occurred to countless others over a two year period, it is appalling that nothing has been done to warn customers of the deadly dangers of this car or that a recall or buyout has not happened. many of us are now stuck with these dangerous vehicles with no recourse as of yet.

On 2 seperate occasions in the past month, vehicle is driving straight on the highway just fine when the vehicle unexpectedly loses power (does not stall, simply will not maintain speed, until vehicle finally coasts to a stop as the momentum fades). transmission light & other lights illuminate, finally the service engine light remains lit. after a prolonged resting of the vehicle (typically 15 minutes or more) the vehicle then becomes able to move again, but must accelerate very slowly at first. eventually vehicle can resume normal speed. very dangerous as vehicle loses ability to move during crowded rush hour traffic!

Drive about 37689 miles. inserted key to run, nothing happened, turned it off, turned it back to run, it power up but engine light pop out, transmission failure, tcm internal failure code p1634. turned it off, waited for half hour, turned it on, power run normal with a lot of noise, engine light still on. shift it to drive and it goes backward, then shift it to park, cranking noise under the car. messaged transmission service, park brake service and esc disabled/off. turned it off again. waited for few minutes turned it on, engine light still on, shift it drive, push the pedal (gas) doesn't go, about 3 seconds later it drive normally. every time shift to drive have to wait few sec to go.

My vehicle has had continuous issues of jerking/missing gears when it shifts, when i took to be checked i was told it was a known problem with this vehicle and there was nothing that could be done until the engine blows up. i was not notified of any sort of issues when i bought the vehicle new. i have also now had continuous problems with my vehicle not starting from being stationary, multiple times it has not started after being off for a period of time, ie 24 hours, but also numerous times my vehicle has shut off while in motion, i was driving down the road and my vehicle just shut off completely, no lights, no gas, no radio etc. i was luckily on the side of a non-busy road at that time about to turn onto a main road. i had both my children in the vehicle with me. i was unable to start my vehicle from this now stationary position for approx. 15 minutes i sat idle in the road with my children in the car. another time my vehicle shut off while i was driving in a busy intersection my car shut off as i was turning and i was almost t-boned my vehicle started up after trying a few times and i was able to get out of the road way. once i was parked in a parking lot to collect myself, my vehicle would not start again. it took approx. 4 times trying to start it again. i have contacted the dealership again and will be taking it back, to be checked. when i took it to them the first time for it to be checked as to why it shut off and they could only come up with that it was low on oil, they did an oil change and said nothing was wrong with my vehicle, which clearly the oil wasn't the problem because it has only been about 400 miles since the oil change.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 jeep cherokee. while driving approximately 40 mph, the vehicle stalled. as a result, another vehicle crashed into the rear of the contact's vehicle. there were no injuries and a police report was filed. the vehicle was towed to the dealer. the mechanic was unable to locate or duplicate the failure. the vehicle was currently being repaired for the rear end damage. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was unavailable. updated 03/09/16*lj *cn

I started my car with push button ignition and it immediately accelerated to 4000 rpm and stayed at that speed for over 20 minutes. during that time, i was unable to turn the car off and could not shift the car. when the engine finally returned to a normal idle speed, i could shift the car but could not accelerate the engine. i would press the gas pedal and nothing happened...the engine remained running at idle. i called to have it towed to the dealer and after it sat for an hour or so , it was able to be driven on to the flatbed truck. the check engine light was on. after 5 days, the service manager called and said that they couldn't find anything wrong with the car. the check engine light was not on and there were no codes indicating a problem. they did nothing to find or address this problem and i'm concerned that it could happen again while i'm driving the car. i am also concerned that the engine could have been damaged by running continually at 4ooo rpm for over 20 minutes.. i would assume that this event was caused by a software problem, so i am confident that it will reoccur. frnkly, i am afraid to drive this car.

My vehicle has had hard shifting ever since i purchased it brand new in 2014. there's a slight delay when accelerating which makes it very dangerous to turn into oncoming traffic. in january of 2016, my vehicle actually stopped on me while making a right hand turn when taking my kids to school. luckily the vehicle stopped in the school zone so the oncoming traffic was approaching at a slow speed. it took me four attempts to get the vehicle started again. the service transmission light came on the dash. it had to be towed to the dealership three times in january because it would not start, or if it did, once i started driving the on dash screen would say "shift to drive" and then the "service transmission" light would come on. the vehicle stopped while in motion so i had to pull over and wait before starting the vehicle up again. i was told by the dealership that my vehicle needed a transmission update and a new battery. it was explained to me that a bad battery will cost this specific vehicle to have transmission issues. but after the update and the new battery, the hard shifting and the delay when accelerating remained. my vehicle is not safe to drive with my three kids in the car; the hard shifting makes it feel like we will get whiplash and the delayed acceleration makes it feel like the vehicle will can stop at anytime while in motion. i don't think the transmission update that the dealership does is a solution to this ongoing problem because it hasn't corrected the issue on my vehicle.

At four different random occasions vehicle will disengage the transmission while in drive and become uncontrollable only thing responsive are the brakes. the power steering will go out as well and the vehicle transmission light and parking light will appear on the gauge display. after pulling over on the highway and letting the vehicle sit off for 5 minutes, i would then restart the vehicle and still get a indicator stating to put the vehicle in park when it is already in park. afterwards vehicle indicator lights would go away after a few restarts and once put in drive gears would shift roughly. after multiple times of turning the vehicle on and off things will return to normal but as stated before i have no clue what triggers the transmission to disengage. it has happened to me while driving through the city and highway going at different speeds.

I bought a new 2014 jeep cherokee limited and after one week, check engine light came on and car wouldn't start. taken back to dealership and was told it was fixed. since then the jeep shifts very hard making the suv lurch forward at times and other times it will shift into a lower gear when speeds over 50 mph and make the suv jerk to a slower speed. when cruising down a hill without pushing the accelerator, suv will shift gears many different times causing the jeep to lurch forward quickly without warning. when trying to pass a car on the hwy, it takes jeep a few seconds to "catch" the gear and make it go faster. i have had several near misses of other cars hitting me and me, hitting others due to the unpredictability of speeds and jerking forward. i have had the suv in the shop 4 times for "software updates" and told that would fix the problem. it has never fixed the problem. most recent near miss was yesterday 29 dec due to downshifting wile moving at higher speeds and causing the suv to slow dramatically without warning. *js

Roseville chrysler called 12/11/15 @ 10:32 am told me they completed oil change and i can pick up my vehicle. fyi: this vehicle was towed to roseville chrysler dealership 12/7/15 and will remain there because this vehicle is a lemon and is dangerous. will not risk my life or my 6yr son health to drive this vehicle!! 2014 jeep cherokee suv started jerking & idled stop moving on me twice 12/5/15 @3:30pm. i was stuck in the middle of intersection 13mile & utica for 1minute fortunately no one was tailgating & i didn't get in a car accident. all i want is to exchange for another vehicle that is not a cherokee. purchased vehicle may 8 2014 incident dates may 9 , 2014 bake & radio complaint may 12, 2014 brake complaint sept 5, 2014 radio complaint sept 9, 2014 radio replaced sept 11,2014 radio complaint 4/6/15 complaint over jerking vehicle 7/21/15 installed new transmission / installed new door handle latch for trunk 12/5/15 jerking suv twice 2 stops driving 12/7/15 returned to dealership

When slowing down not coming to a full stop then accelerating my car does not want to move. there is an extreme hesitation, and then boom ~ the car jerks and finally goes. this has been happening for years now. i have had all the software updates ~ it is no better.

Car has been taken in to the dealer numerous of times due to transmission jerkin. in march 2015 the transmission was replaces and the jerking continuous. i have been taking the car in for the transmission jerking but according to the dealer they can't duplicate. as of november 26,2015; the car started to stall while in movement and i have to wait about 10 min for the car to start. so this means that the car stops in the middle of the street and freeways with going traffic and does not turn back on. it happened every day after that. on november 30, 2015; in a matter of 3 block the car stopped 3 times. i took the car to the dealer on december 1, 2015 and as of now they want me to pick up the car because they can not duplicate. to me is a matter of safety. i drive by myself with my 3 kids. i don't understand if they are waiting for something major to happen to me and my kids to do something about it. i have a trip planned for this weekend and honestly i don't even know if it would happen due to the insecurity of the vehicle. i have contacted manufacturing and they are doing nothing about it . also, a bbb claim was done because of the issues with the transmission and there was nothing done about it either. i and getting ready to do another bbb due to the stalling as well.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 jeep cherokee. the contact stated that while driving at approximately 25 mph, the engine stalled without warning. the failure recurred five times. the vehicle did not restart the last occasion. the vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the vin was included in nhtsa campaign number: 16v529000 (power train) however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the failure mileage was approximately 17,000. parts distribution disconnect.

After dealership replaced transmission at 30,000 miles for improperly shifting we noticed a burning smell and noticed new transmission was slipping and not shifting properly. we called the dealership and was advised that the not get it in to be checked for another week and a half. at 9:10pm i went around the corner about 4 blocks to visit with a friend and left and came back to my home where i noticed smoke coming from underneath the hood. upoing the hood i saw light from a flame and extinguished it using a garden hose. minimal damage but fire non the less. chrysler corporate stated i can not drive it and to let it sit un touched. i have a daughter to get to school and jobs to do that pays my bills. three days pass i call chrysler again and state i am going to fix the vehicle my self and send them a bill. i tighten the transmission lines they did seem loose. no transmission still leaking. 15 days later still no word from crysler. i have a $28,880 paper weight in my front yard costing me $380 a month. i have called crysler every day for a 2 weeks and all they can tell me is " its in our legal department". no call, no loaner, nothing. an expensive paper weight costing money.

Driving to work on hwy in heavy traffic i accelerated up a small hill car jerked then powered down on hwy at 65 mph i was able to coast over three lanes of traffic and pull off to side of road then noticed service transmission, check parking break, put car in park and then select gear all came on as messages also the traction control light came on. put care in park and restarted engine all lights/messages still on dash and car would not go into gear for driving. tried two more times and finally could drive under 50 mph straight to dealer for service. the check transmission light remained on during my entire drive to the dealership. i had previously experienced acceleration when in traffic coasting and my foot off gas pedal. also hard shifting multiple times like it was skipping gears when accelerating. very scary and unsafe situation to be in.

While in drive engine shuts off unexpectedly as a violent jerk from transmission occurs ( luckily at slower speeds) display says "shift to p to select desired gear" goto park and restart is spinning starter solenoid several retries and its like it never happened, took to dealer and reoccurred enroute dealer asked if "check engine light " came on i said no, he claims thats impossible, then showed him the picture i took of dash, same thing 2 days in a row very dangerous imo

The car when driving shift.s like to second gear.

Was driving in very busy town, luckily turning into a parking lot, jeep had lost all power, and was showing engine light, etc light flashing, and traction control was shut off. got the jeep running again about 15 minutes later, auto zone was next door but they could not read the codes. had to drive an hour to the closest dealership. was told there was a recall that needed to be updated, was told to drive it so many miles to reset everything, then sent back on my way. the next day i was putting the required miles on it, it left me stranded on the side of highway with young child, got it to start again and made it back to park it the rest of the day. next morning drove 1/4 mile down road and it had lost all power again. called dealership to let them know i was bringing it back, jeep would not go past 3rd gear, almost hit multiple times trying to get off the road. got to dealership, they told me it is un-driveable after driving over an hour to get there, they had jeep almost 3 weeks. mileage was around 18,000. would need to replace transmission, when they finally called to say it was ready, i was told it was bc it needed an oil change...with only 3500 miles on this change(feb2015-march2015). now(oct2015) jeep shows engine, etc, traction control, after turning at light in neighborhood. took jeep to new dealership, could not recreate problem, 3 days for diagnosis.

Tranmission jerk often, engine something about to shut off, i was at mcdonald drive thur, and the tranmission jerk alot , and engine shut off. this is not my first times that happpen. went to dealer 5 times and inform them off the problem, they look at it and said there is nothing that they can find. it because they not driving it everyday. this was the worst purchase i ever did. i wanted a acura but wife like the style of the car. i regret getting this car. if i can replace it i would definitly do it today. worst car ever 2014 jeep cherokee. or at less a replacement vehicle.

On september 20th at 5:30 am driving 55mph my 2014 jeep cherokee trail hawk suddenly just shut off the whole car. it restated 45 minutes later and i drove it to minot automotive center. the error messages that came on the dash were "service transmission< service emergancy break, check engine light" minot automotive wrote on their diagnostic paper that code u0402 "implausible data recieved from tcm" and code p0975- shift control solenoid b circuit control performance errors were stored. dealer updated the tcm and pcm software to version for tsbs 18-031-14 rev a and 21-043-15 they cleared the codes the returned. on september 23 the jeep just died again while driving down hiway at 65 mph, it restarted an hour later and again took to dealer who promply said it would be 4 weeks before they could look at it. called jeep/chysler service # and assigned case #27877752 and told someone would call me back. jeep again died on sept 23 2015 2 more times as the dealer said it was safe to drive and jeep wouldn't pay for a rental. i never was called back from jeep so called them again.this time assigned a case manager who just stonewalls me and never returns calls. jeeps bright idea was to have it towed 150miles at my expense of $664 to another dealer who wouldn't look at it for 2 months. car dies again while driving 65 on september 24 2015. if we or the other motoring public live thru this it will be a miracle.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 jeep cherokee. the contact stated that a very strong odor of mold emitted out of the air vents which increased when the air conditioner was activated. the vehicle was inspected by an independent mechanic. the technician was unable to diagnose the failure. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 14,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 jeep cherokee. while driving 65 mph, the vehicle decelerated and the engine continued running as the check engine light illuminated. the vehicle was merged to the side of the road, where it was turned off and restarted in order to reset the system which resumed normal operation. in addition, the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign id number: 15v461000 (equipment). the vehicle was taken to a dealer, who was unable to diagnose the failure. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 20,000.

Was driving home and check transmission and motor lights came on. we pulled over stopped car and turned on and could drive home. next day with kids in heavy traffic, car just coasted and all lights went on, kids were scared and almost hit by a truck as we pulled over to curve. restarted car and could drive home but the transmission was jerky. next morning took to dealer and they found all the faults i reported. they said communication problem and cleaned all leads and said if happend again they would have to contact chrystler direct. next morning, lights came back on check transmission and pulling out of my garage, almost slammed me into a wall changing gears. dealer confirmed problem in transmission and ordered a new one under guarantee. i am without a car for at least 3 weeks and dealer said if i had gotten the extended guarantee would have gotten reinbursed for an auto rental after 5 business days of not having car. really concerned about safety and everyone is fortunate no fatalities yet due to a defective 9 speed transmission design. my car was fine until they did a software update to deal with transmission complains. really supprised usa government has not recalled the transmission or allow family car owners like myself who thought this jeep was safe with good gas milage to exchange cars or sell back. have to wait and see if new transmission works or simply replacing one poorly designed part with hanother. actually liked the car, just now concerned with my family safety.

With our 2014 jeep cherokee 4cyl. we were close to a horrible collision. we were merging onto a major highway when the suv lost power when accelerating and the transmission disengaged. we were nearly sideswiped by a semi!!!!! when giving the suv gas, it downshifted to accelerate and then all of a sudden disengaged and the suv felt like it halted forward slowing down to 15mph. it seemed as if the engine and transmission were not communicating correctly. if the gas pedal was softly pressed the suv would accelerate, however, if the gas pedal was pressed down further, the transmission was just gone! this continued to happen until the car was power cycled off. this is a major safety concern. brought it to the dealership and they couldn't find anything wrong. i am so scared to drive this suv now. please investigate and have a safety update soon!!!!

Vehicle was being operated on a straight and level road at 45 mph when the dashboard electrical and radio system went dark, and there was a loss of power steering at the same time. in about two seconds, the vehicle restarted without any movement by the driver. she had both hands on the wheel so that she could control the vehicle due to the loss of the power steering. when the vehicle restarted on its own, the normal housekeeping functions occurred on the dash, the radio came back on, and power steering came back. two lights illuminated on the dash that were not normal. one was the check engine light that came on continuous, and the squigily traction light came on until she was able to pull into a parking lot where she stopped the vehicle and shut the engine off. when she restarted the vehicle, the traction light did not come back on, however the check engine light did come back on in a continuous mode. vehicle is currently at charlie's dodge/jeep dealership in maumee, oh being diagnosed.

Car has lost power while driving 3x. car was in motion/traffic travelling at 65mph, 45mph, 65 mph.dealer/manufacturer are not able to identify problem. service advisor at steven's creek chrysler, dodge, jeep stated that jeep needs to buy the car back but manufacturer is unable to help out. car towed twice to dealer.

In the wake of receiving my car back after transmission replacement (due to the car shutting down while driving), i turned it on the other day and all the lights on the gear shifter console lite up and stayed lite. i brought my car into jeep and was told that it was throwing a code, some kind of lost connection error but they have no idea why or how to fix it because it isnt doing it any more. this is the second time in 2 months that my car has been in the shop to fix an issue which jeep claims is an oddity to my vehicle and not a known issue.

I bought this car brand new, and have had problems with it starting randomly, locking, and unlocking randomly, alarm going off in the middle of night, (yes, my neighbors hate me) and now my stereo goes in and out..

On tuesday, july 28, 2015 12:12pm on interstate 91-s at 65mph in the middle travel lane, i was surrounded by multiple tractor-trailers. my dashboard suddenly lit up like a christmas tree. i immediately attempted to get to safety. the car's speed dropped dramatically without warning, even when i applied the gas. at least two tractor-trailers just missed hitting me. i narrowly managed to get to the right side of the highway. on friday, july 31, 2015, executive jeep reassured me that the vehicle was repaired and safe to drive. i expressed my concern about it being safe; the service advisor re-assured me that it was. on monday, august 3, 2015, just 7 days after the vehicle failed me, i was en route to work on 91-n i was traveling in the middle lane surrounded by multiple vehicles. again, the dashboard lit up like a christmas tree. i was almost hit by other vehicles while trying to make my way to the right side of the highway. the car's speed dropped dramatically without warning, even when i applied the gas. for the second time in one week, the vehicle failed in the same manner and i narrowly managed to get to the breakdown lane. chrysler insists that this vehicle is safe to drive. this is the third jeep cherokee in connecticut that i am personally aware of that has the same defect; this is unacceptable. i purchased a new jeep to be safe; my experience with jeep has been far from that. i am stuck paying of an unsafe vehicle. narrowly avoiding being killed twice in this vehicle is enough for me.

After receiving a recall notice, we had the transmission serviced at nw hills jeep in torrington, ct. on may 11. 2015. friday, july 17 i was driving at about 25 miles an hour. with no notice, the car stopped dead in the road and put itself into park. i could not start or move the car in any way, the mechanic who towed it had to go under the gear lever and over ride the park button. i was on a quiet country road. if i had been merging onto a highway, it could have resulted in a fatal accident. at 25 mph, i had absolutely no control over the vehicle.

I have received 3 recall alerts on different problems with the car. when i call the dealer they said they can not fix because chrysler has not issued/delivered the parts. it has been over 3 2/12 months since the first recall alert and i have gotten two more additional notices since then. all are safety related issues. unacceptable.

The day after we bought the jeep the check engine light came on ,took back to dealer they reset system. i took in couple months having the jeep for shifting hard , stalling and not much power up hills. they often told me when taking it to dealer they can't duplicate my problem. after taking in to dealer several times on 5/08/2015 they finally replaced my transmission , it had died on me at a busy intersection wouldnt shift and check engine light on. when got my jeep back still had the same problems and airconditioner was'nt working properly. so as of now my jeep back at the dealer for accelerating on its own, stalling,no power, shifting hard and dead gas pedal at times while driving. i have talked with the service manager today and he says they can't fix it if shows no code or he can't duplicate the problem. thats the story i get when taking it to the shop . i have tried to get them to buy it back and haven't gotten anywhere with that as of right now. i feel that this jeep is so dangerous that i don't wana drive it anymore.

2-18-18 in the morning backing out of driveway engine cut offf. 2) 9-12-17 in the daytime on a local town rd. making a left turn engine cut off. 5-16-17 daytime stopped at a red light on route 17 hwy engine cut off. 6-16-15 daytime going 20 miles an hour engine cut off in the middle of the road local town road. this is happening because the oil level is below a certain level, however the oil is not at a low oil level according to the dipstick. dealership said we have to check the oil level every time we drive our vehicle. having many problems with engine/transmission still under warranty but i am not getting any help i was told there is nothing that they can do to help me.

2015 jeep cherokee - transmission issues. started with a jump and crashing sound on acceleration from stop, then started slipping and non engagement during driving. i took it in and had 3 system updates done, and 2 weeks later (june 12th, 2015) i was driving in rush hour traffic and the transmission stopped all together, not responsive, engine check light went on, and the system computer said service transmission. i was almost killed on the highway because the car just stopped. ...updated 07/30/15 *bf updated 9/24/15 *js

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 jeep cherokee. while attempting to accelerate from a complete stop, there was a sudden increase in engine rpms; however, the vehicle would not accelerate properly. the contact continued to depress the accelerator pedal and the vehicle began to drive normally. the failure recurred on several occasions. while reversing out of the driveway, the vehicle came to an abrupt stop and the parking brake warning indicator illuminated. the vehicle was towed to the dealer and was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 5,600.

I was driving home on the freeway going about 50mph and all of a sudden i got a series of messages: "service transmission" "service parking brake" "4wd not available".put gear into drive" i was on a ramp merging to another freeway with very little room on the side i shifted the car from drive to park, dash message said to shift back into park, and then into drive. when i shifted back into drive, the transmission made a very loud bang (like somebody hit the bottom of the vehicle with a mallet) the engine indicator was flashing and the error messages were coming up on the screen. this is not the first time i had this issue. last time i had to shut the jeep off and wait about 30min for the computer to reset before i could start it and shift into gear. last time the dealer replaced the transmission valve but obviously did not fix the issue. i am concerned that this can happen anywhere at anytime.

On 2 occasions,-june and august 2015, parked vehicle on first floor of an entertainment complex and found engine running upon return (first time it ran for 4 hours/ second time for 2 hours unattended).

I was driving with my family in the car and while i was driving the vehicle suddenly stalled and then shut down. i immediately turned on my hazards and feared for my family's safety because i was on the highway. the vehicle would not start again. after trying for 10 minutes the vehicle started again and i was able to get safely off the highway. i immediately brought the vehicle in to the nearby dealership and was told there was no engine light and no information in the database stating something was wrong. they gave me the okay to drive the car. then it happened again, this time i was right in the middle of an intersection when the car just completely stalled and shut down. it took 15 minutes to start back up again this time. knowing the dealership wouldn't believe me. i had someone film it happening again while driving in the safety of a quiet lot. reading about all the other instances in which this has happened to other owners has me very worried about my family's safety in this car. i have no desire to drive this car again even if they tell me it is completely fixed because they clearly have no idea why this is happening or how to permanently fix this. i'm astounded there hasn't been a recall yet. this is clearly a very serious accident waiting to happen.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 jeep cherokee. while driving at approximately 15 mph, the vehicle upshifted without being prompted and then returned to original shift without warning. the failure recurred numerous times. the vehicle was repaired under the manufacturer recall, but the failure persisted. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where the failure was undetermined. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 12,000.

Our 2014 jeep cherokee limited 4by4 has stalled multiple times while driving it. this car is 13 months old and we had to take it in to our dealer for the same time several times. the engine keeps stalling on us while we are driving. in december 2014 it stalled while driving on a highway at a speed of 65mph. all the dashboard lights came on and the car simply didn?t want to drive. this was extremely scary for us while travelling on a highway with high speeds. the car dropped in mph while on the highway, when i pulled over and turned on/off to reset it, it didn?t work. the dealer ran tests and they couldn?t come up with a problem. again this happened to my husband in april while he was driving, again the car stalled, my husband took it to the dealer and again they checked the engine, electronics and couldn?t address the issue, said everthing was ok. over the course of the last 13 months it would stall mid drive but we would quickly rest the vehicle and we would still drive it, should have complained about this problem sooner because now it just got a lot worse. today, while driving 20 mph, i couldn?t complete a turn, my jeep stalled, mph dropped to 0 without me putting it in park and still trying to accelerate. finally, i put the car in park to turn it off, couldn?t turn it off for about 3 minutes. finally i turned it off still in park, restarted but the car still didn?t wan to drive even after i put it in drive. it even rolled back a little. very scary since i was with my young child and in a residential area. i totally lost control over the car. the cars electronics are completely broken, in addition to faulty engine it seems? this a 35k car that doesn?t work,, very unreliable and the dealer can?t determine or address this issue. someone really needs look into this?. this car is not safe to drive. please help!

I have received a safety recall but my dealer does not have the parts and cannot fix the problem. previous recalls have also gone unfixed because the dealer does not have the parts. *tr

On my way to work on march 16th when my service park brake message came across my screen along with my check engine light and park brake light. about 10 seconds later the service transmission message was displayed. i had no power when i pressed on the gas. i was lucky enough to be in a residential area still and coasted into someone's driveway. i put it in park. when i put it in reverse it shifted hard with a loud thud. it literally sounded like the engine dropped out of the jeep. i still didn't have any gas power so i put it back into park with another hard shift and loud thud. i turned the jeep off and back on. i had gas power and it no longer shifted hard but my engine light was still on. took it in for service the next day. of course they couldn't duplicate the condition with several test drives so they chalked it up to a software update recall "occupant restraint control module". fast forward 11 days later, the exact same thing happens. lost power in gas pedal, service park brake message across screen, changes to service transmission, the engine light, parking brake light and now the traction light all on. when i put it in park then reverse extremely loud and hard thud. then another message came across the screen, shift to p then desired gear. put it back into park with a loud, hard thud. turned off jeep then back on. got power back in gas pedal and was able to get it home. taking it in first thing monday morning (3/30) for the exact same issue as almost 2 weeks ago. after reading all the complaints on this site and others, it doesn't sound too promising. i bought this jeep brand new in nov 2013. and this will be the 4th time its been in for service. the previous two were for a crack in the transmission case causing it to leak transmission fluid (3/3/14) and for a faulty internal controller in my shifter (5/16/14). *tr
