The information screen for audio and climate controls go completely out and or function erratically. the function on the driving safety systems for anti brake and anti collision also function erratically. losing critical functions of the car while the car is still operating. i have video and more photos
The audio control panel (radio, heat, light brightness, etc) has a mind of it's own and at times will get into a mode where it cycles all the controls on-off-changing volume-brightness-switching radio stations and other things. it had been reported several times to the dealership with no faults found. i finall managed to capture this on my camera and sent it to the dealer. they then replaced the panel. no issues for a couple months and then it started again. i returned to the dealer who told me honda would not try to do anything to fix the issue. the subcontractor who made these panels was aware it had problems and "were working on a fix". in the mean time i have to try to drive with it making all these changes while it blinks, changes intensity and volume. this is a very substandard situation.i have movies of the panel doing this but no pictures.

The brakes failed when in reverse. the reverse sensors do not detect movement, the car does at intersections. a blue vertical line appears when the car is in reverse. the panel freezes...all this happened when the car was in motion.
On 08-10-2018 after just getting onto the freeway on the way to a meeting, the audio/information screen (infotainment screen) went into malfunction. it was turning itself on and off, and beeping. there was no way to turn the screen off and no way to silence the beeping. the malfunction continued non-stop until the vehicle was turned off. this caused an extreme state of distracted-driver while on the freeway with many other automobiles around.
Draining battery suspected parasitic drain. the vehicle was attempted to start yesterday and the battery has low charged (~7 volts from multi-meter). the vehicle was sitting in the garage for about 2 days since last use. jumpstarted the vehicle with a jumper cable and was driven for about 2 hours. after driving the battery had about ~14 volts reading. the vehicle is ~10500 miles under normal usage. purchased sept 2017. this is the second time it happened in the last 3 months. the first time was ~7-8k miles.

On 3 separate occasions, the honda hard braked by itself, almost causing an accident. if i didn't have my seat belt on, i would have been thrown through the windshield. there were no other cars around, or i could have been easily rear-ended by another vehicle. the car was moving, when it suddenly stopped by itself very abruptly and very hard. this happened on a small street with no other cars present.

Driving down the highway when all dash warning lights concerning the honda sensing system came on with malfunction warnings, pulled to the side of the highway and turned the motor off, then restarted the motor and the warnings went off. took the car to the dealer and they checked the computer for codes, there were none. my question, is this car safe to drive and is honda motor company working on this issue. when looking at the honda forums online it appears that this is a problem with alot of the 2017 and 2018 crv's. i don't like pulling to the side of the highway trying to get the computer to reboot. my honda service person said that we would monitor the problem before my next oil change that i'd due in october 2018. again, i would like to know if honda motor is aware of an issue that is potentially a very dangerous situation for a family to be put in.
Tl* the contact owns a 2018 honda cr-v. while driving 45 mph, the brakes failed and the vehicle stalled without warning. the abs indicator illuminated after the failure. on another occasion, while driving 25 mph, the brakes failed and the vehicle stalled without warning again. the vehicle was able to be restarted after a few moments. the vehicle was taken to darling's honda nissan volvo (114 sylvan rd, bangor, me 04401, (207) 941-1460) where it was diagnosed that the engine software needed to be updated. the manufacturer was notified. the failure mileage was 2,485.
With my smartphone connected to the audio/information screen (infotainment panel) via usb port in the center console for the use of ios maps for navigation, i received an incoming phone call. the volume of the ring through the vehicle speakers was so loud that my body instinctively and involuntarily removed my hands from the steering wheel to protect my ears by covering them. at that point, i had completely lost control of the moving vehicle! it created an extremely dangerous situation. after researching the problem later, i found that the volume of incoming calls is a function of the vehicle; not the smart phone when used in this fashion. the volume must be adjusted by use of the infotainment panel volume knob (or maybe steering wheel volume adjust?) while the call is incoming. to have the default incoming call setting at a volume level that would cause a driver's hands to involuntarily cover their ears while in motion seems to be reckless endangerment. i was not advised verbally or in writing that this volume would need to be adjusted or that it could cause a hazardous condition. my hearing has never seemed overly sensitive to loud noise.
Engine does not start dash board shows all the error messages. after 10-15 mins it works fine. took vehicle to dealers 3 times and kept overnight to fix. no solution provided. raised 2 tickets with honda they are irresponsible and stopped contacting me for solution. hundreds of people facing this issue.
While on vacation, i had my 2018 honda, crv-exl parked for nearly 2 weeks. on our return, i attempted to start the vehicle. it would not start as the new battery was completely drained and dead. luckily i had a charger and charged the vehicle for 2 hours. i was then able to start the vehicle and idle it. during idle the display indicated problems in all operable functions. during a 45 min drive the system must have reset itself and the vehicle operated normally, this condition repeated itself about 1 month later with the same problems. i am schedule to have an electrical system check of the crv soon at the dealership where the vehicle was purchased. i hope they disciver the source of the problem.
