We have classified the 67 complaints from 2018 Honda CR-V about ELECTRICAL SYSTEM into the following categories.
The ignition is keyless. i pressed to turn off the engine and it shut off. but i forgot to shift into park. i exited the car. the car started rolling backward. i ran back to it, jumped in and shifted to park, stopping the car. if i hadn't noticed and stopped the car, someone might have been hurt. when you stop the engine, there should be an automatic shift to park or an automatic activation of the emergency brake.
From 3,500 to now 9,500mi 5 seperate occasions sensor suite has quit functioning for from 10mi to a 100mi till come back on. in all but 1 time (which recurred going to dealer) by coming to stop or restarting engine has returned to normal. still have throttle, brake, gas guage, lights etc but no functions that require pushbutton or sensing functions. all happened while at hyw speeds. 1 time car totally quit (like shut off with switch) for a sec free rolling at 65mph then came on where left off.
I have had numerous problems with my crv, most recently a complete malfunction where car did not go over 10 mph and dashboard lights all flashing on alert. honda mechanics told me this was my fault for overfilling my oil tank. wanted to charge me $2500 for a new catalytic converter. after much negotiating they lowered cost. however i have since seen this is a common problem with this model and should have been recognized as such. *tr
Honda 2018 cr v touring awd has steering issues on 3 separate occasion. sept 2019, oct 2019, dec 2019 when making a right turn the power steering pulled to the left into the wrong lane & the 3rd time almost into a ditch it took two or us to over ride that. during that 3rd time we also had 4 warnings: acc, lkas, cmbs and rdm. i had amber and red warning lights showing the brake system, lane departure, acc & forward collision warning illuminated on the dash. i pulled over and shut the engine off for 30 mins. each problem taken into the dealer we could not duplicate, and your vin # is not on the recall list. i also notified honda still no answer.
My windows and doors are open and unlocked, including hatchback. has happened at least 4x's in last two weeks in chicago during holiday season! *mp
Lights, windows and sunroof all opened spontaneously overnight while parked in the downstairs garage of my home. remote not touched. read online of many cases not so lucky that opened during rain storm resulting in a soaking wet car. apparently there is no option to turn off control that might trigger this. will take photo for documentation if it happens again
Problems first presented: auto door lock malfunction, auto- rain sensing wiper malfunction would come on when dry, not come on when wet; navigation system went crazy on the highway flashing on and off when using it; twice the auto breaking system came on when on the highway with nothing in front of me....going 50 mph! i very well could have been rear ended. i saw no obstruction on the road. i have had the vehicle in twice to the dealer only to be told it does not happen and they have no bulletins regarding these issues.
While driving on slick roads i was using blueooth to have a telephone conversation. a car swerved in front of me causing me to swerve to avoid an accident. the bluetooth disengaged and i heard the doors automatically click to lock (they were already locked). i assume these are built in safety features. when i came to a stop, the electronic door lock overrode the manual lock for the driver side door and would not unlock; i could not exit through the driver side door. i tried many times to use the fob or to manually unlock the driver side door to no avail.i had to exit using the passenger door. the driver side door lock refused to work until i used the physical key to open the door from the outside. using the physical key appeared to re-set the electronic door lock system and it then worked normally.
My 2018 cr v has been in for service with the same problem 5 times. basically on my morning commute from norco to los angeles i sporadically get an error message, road mitigation system problem, adaptive cruise control problem, collision mitigation system problem, road departure system problem along with a brake light cycle through my dashboard and all these systems fail to work. this will last the rest of my commute and all lights are off when i drive home later on in the day. the first couple of times i brought the car in, they sent it home with me because they could not find error codes, problem still present. finally this last time the technician adjusted some cameras to see if that could fix the problem, it did not. my car is still in your shop at penske ontario and the technician who called me yesterday said this is a normal feature of this car, and the honda hotline does not have this problem reported. he informed me that the car is picking up something that is causing it to fail. my commute is at 4am on a non busy freeway, i have not noticed construction nor major road damage when this happens. if the road conditions were the problem, i drive this commute a lot and this does not happen then. this sounds like their is no solution to my problem and i am given a generic answer. i have done my research and i am not the only person experiencing this with the cr v. the dealer has informed me they will be doing nothing further for my problem. this happens multiple times
On 9/23/19 parked the vehicle. shut off vehicle while still in drive. the vehicle did not alert me that the car was not in park. got out of car and door locked like everything was okay - no other beeps or notifications. vehicle rolled out of driveway and hit a tree causing significant rear damage (thankfully did not hit any other vehicle or pedestrian). brought to honda dealership and they could not find anything although i explained that the warning indicators work intermittently. finally on 10/2/19 i videotaped an incident where it did not alert me in anyway when i shut the car off and left in the drive gear (images from video attached). honda states emergency parking brake should always be engaged; however, this does not fix the fact that the safety notifications are not working as expected. definitely a vehicle safety issue.
Tl* the contact owns a 2018 honda cr-v. while driving 65 mph, the cruise control and road departure warning indicators illuminated. there was also a mitigation system failure and a beeping noise was heard. the driver coasted into a parking lot and depressed the brake pedal, and all the warning indicators turned off. the contact called buerkle honda (3360 hey 61 n vadnais heights, mn 55110, (651) 490-6600) where an appointment was scheduled. the vehicle was not taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. the contact stated that the failure recurred twice. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 12,500.
My recent encounter was on a two lane road traveling at 40 mph. no cars were in front of me and a car was about 2 car lengths behind me. a mini school bus was heading in the other direction about 2 car lengths on the other side of the road. i had my two grandchildren in the car with me, when all of a sudden the car breaked hard sending all my things on the floor and scarring my granddaughters. i was shaken myself being nearly rear ended by the car behind me. i took it in to atlantic honda, and was told ' no problems were found on the computer and could not duplicate the issue'. 'never had anyone complain of this'. i also advised them, the break light flashes 'out of the blue' while driving on the highway with no other cars around. i was told to bring it in if it happens again. i feel on edge driving the car not knowing if it will break unexpectedly!
I continue to get random "lane departure" when driving down a normal road. have taken to the dealer twice and they can not repeat the problem. today i was driving on a one way street in city traffic with nobody in front of me and several behind me, as i was going through a signal light intersection the crv went into collision alert with a warning on the dash and beeping, it slammed on the brakes and i was almost rear ended. there was nobody in front of me or coming from either side of the cross street. this has happen one time before when i was passing through a construction zone and one lane had cones cutting a two lane down to one lane. it again slammed an the brakes as if i was leaving the road. i also have problems with the auto dimming headlights that dim when they should not and go to bright sometimes when meeting traffic and should be dim. i have taken to the dealer for this also more than one time and they could not repeat the problem. i also get random messages that power has been lost to my information center (pictures included). i do not feel safe in this honda crv and the dealer seems they are just wanting me to be out of warranty or don't care.
Warning lights flashing then had software update ac control all that was on the bulletin , lights flashing again warning lights so at 38,000 had to have fuel injectors, one warning light came on since then after cutting car off hasn't come back on yet both stationary, and in motion .
The navigation/infotainment display works intermittently while driving the vehicle, it becomes unusable and also just blacks out so if you are using the navigation while driving it becomes inoperable and the only way to correct it is to pull over turn the car off and restart it which is dangerous. honda has stated that they are aware of the problem but have no solution yet.
At random times while driving the infotainment screen randomly starts flashing and beeping. with the brightness control bar popping up at the bottom of the screen. this is very distracting to the driver while operating the vehicle. this has happened three time while the vehicle was in motion on at highway speeds and while driving in traffic. the only way to stop this is to turn the car off. this is a big saftey issue for safe operation of the vehicle and it will cause an accident for someone. it seems to happen randomly i belive it may happen when the navigation system is activated and the car has an android phone attached however i am unable to replicate it. it has happened 4 times. my vehicle has 8000 miles on it. additionally there are report on the internet that this has happend to other drivers as well. i reported this by telephone to customer service at honda as well 0n 05/30/2019 . i also had an issue that onetime this winter i started the car and the sunroof automatically opened and could not be closed for about 1 hour. luckily it was not raining or snowing that day. there seems to be a number of issues with the electronic control system on this vehicle.
While driving my 2018 crv-ex the dashboard info display will randomly adjust brightness and turn it on/off. the only way to stop it it is to pull over and restart the car. very dangerous. will do it twice in one day and then not happen for several days.
There are recurring problems with the infotainment system display: 1. numerous times the display has gone full freak-out while the car was in motion. the display turns itself on and off, attempts to adjust its own brightness and repeatedly beeps. the only way to stop the madness is to pull over and shut the car off. this is a totally uncool thing to happen when one is trying to pay attention to the traffic around them. please also reference nhtsa complaint #11132814 for this same vehicle. 2. even though the touch screen sensitivity is set the highest level, sometimes you must press the 'cyber buttons' repeatedly before the unit registers that you have pressed a button. while i am motoring down the road pressing faux buttons 10-15 times to try to get the unit to do something guess where my eyes are not'yeah, on the road in front of me where my eyes should be paying attention. the manufacturer states that my infotainment system display/control unit is working per spec.
3 time while driving on the fwy 65 mph with the cruise control activated, lane control activated, and the distance set to minimum, with no one in front of me, the car detected the car to the right of me and slammed on the brakes, and causing the person behind me to slam on their brake almost causing an accident. this happened between april of 2019 and oct of 2019. when i brought it into the dealership they said that there was dirt on the milliwave radar, found code p2583-97, i found this to be highly unlikely because the car was spotless. the second time i took the car to the dealership, they said the could not duplicate the problem. when asked how they diagnosed the car they said they drove it 10 miles down a bolsa chica rd. i told the sevice person that that was not the same conditions as i was driving and that they could not have gotten the car up to 65 mph when the speed limit was 45 mph and it wasn't a fwy. her response was we are not allowed to drive cars on the fwy. i said then how are you do duplicate the condition of the problem. this car has been into the dealership for multable electronic issue, none of which have been solved yet. all i get is the same answer, cant duplicate the problem. i believe this car has had these problems since it was sold new and the person before me turned this car in with only 8000 miles on it for a new car that they could trust. this is a safety issue ad could cause me to get into an accident thats not my fault.
Radio screen randomly starts adjusting its brightness. the first time this happened was 4/32/19, but it has happened to me multiple times since then all while driving and there is nothing i could do to make it stop other then restarting the car. it is very distracting because it is constantly beeping while it is trying to make this adjustment. i tried turning the radio off, this did not help. i was told by the honda dealership to hit the dim button on the screen, but this did not work either. the only way that i have been able to resolve this is to pull off the highway/road turn the car off and back on.
Windows and sunroof open on own a number of times on new 2018 honda crv. i see this is an issue that many people are complaining about.
While driving our 2018 honda cr-v touring car, the instrument-navigation panel randomly started flashing, blinking, and beeping on and off continuously. reported the problem to honda dealership, who commented that this was a known problem. honda is awaiting a solution. (but reading comments on line - apparently the problem has been known for a couple of years!). stopped and turned off car, then restarted. so far problem has not reoccurred, but there are concerns if this is known 2-3 year old problem that hasn't yet been solved.
Tl* the contact owns a 2018 honda cr-v. while driving, the steering wheel started vibrating and pulled to the right as if the lane assist feature were engaged. the contact stated that the option to use the feature was off at the time of the failure. the dealer (d'ella honda of glens falls, 313 quaker rd, queensbury, ny 12804, (518) 793-3811) stated that they would attempt to duplicate the failure. the manufacturer stated that there were no recalls on the vehicle. also, the contact stated that the front console malfunctioned and the back-up camera would appear when the vehicle was not in reverse. the manufacturer stated that there was a software malfunction and they were working on a repair solution. the contact was provided a loaner vehicle. the failure mileage was 3,900.
We were driving from bridgeport,wv to new jersey on 2/9/19. four hours into the trip carall the lights on dash board came on and car slowed down and accelerator did not work at that point. car stopped on the high way. we pulled over called aaa service and toyota. we took the car in to honda of turnersville, nj they fix multiple dtc updated po302 related recall, updated pcm/tcu no more misfire. car now we are having the same problem again. this week its twice.
When driving down the hwy, multiple times now, all of the dash warning lights come on concerning the sensing systems and brake system. i have taken to the dealership 4 times now with no real answers. it's your toll tag placement - nope. it's an old code that we reset - nope. it isn't happening now - then i leave and it happens the next day. where do i report a 35k lemon???
Second time this car's warning system has activated since having the recalled a/c part replaced. while driving (hwy speeds 65+ mph)the car is losing acceleration ability in traffic and the dash is reading: power steering system problem road departure mitigation system problem electric parking brake problem tire pressure monitor problem emission system problem all wheel drive system problem brake system problem brake hold system problem. the first time the vehicle was brought to the dealer they could not tell what the problem was, but now this is the second occurrence since feb 2019.
Tl* the contact owns a 2018 honda cr-v. after parking and locking the vehicle, an audible was heard. the contact stated that the alarm sounded even though the vehicle was locked. additionally, when the vehicle was parked and the door lock button was depressed, the audible sound for the door lock would sound; however, the vehicle was still unlocked. the contact also stated that the display would occasionally flash on and off and then go blank. also, on several occasions in inclement weather, the vehicle was stopped at a traffic light, the windshield wipers ceased to work. community honda lafayette (located at 1407 la 728-8, lafayette, la 70501, (337) 235-9086) stated that the windshield wiper was programmed to slow down when the vehicle was not moving, which was a feature of the vehicle. an appointment was scheduled with the dealer. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failures. the approximate failure mileage was 8,000. *bf consumer stated forgot to say as i was going straight on hwy 90- a car was on my right in the turn lane- my car stopped and cops were coming behind- almost slammed are me in the back. doors not lacking when exited.*jb
Recently bought a 2018 honda cr-v 2018, with each fill up of gas, the car has started spitting, sputtering, worsening with each fill up. now the car is stalling, this happened twice on a major highway, now every warning light is flashing, roadside service came to pick up my car, took back to dealership who tells us, per honda, the car is safe to drive, you still have the issues, warnings are still flashing, but it's safe to drive until we can get your parts, how am i suppose to know if there is truly an issue with my car if all the warnings are flashing up . how is this safe!!
I was driving to honda dealer on march 6, 2019 for my second oil change as a result of me calling the dealership and telling them my oil smelled like it had gas in it again. this is with less than 700 miles since the first oil change that i had done on february 13, 2019. my first oil change was with 4525 miles, this was done as part of a recall on my vehicle. on this march 6th trip i was about 40 miles away from the dealership and my acc (adaptive cruise control) shut down, the collision mitigation system problem and road departure mitigation system problem lights all came up on dash of car and kept scrolling on dash. when my car did this i was unsure, felt unsafe and was frustrated as not knowing what was going on and how many more problems i am going to have with this vehicle. i found a safe place to pull over and called the dealer and told him what was going on, he said the car was safe to drive but those systems that were scrolling on dash weren't operating. it was 6 f outside a clear road and a sunny day in north dakota. after the oil change, i was told the oil was high and that there was again gas in my oil again. at this point i am beyond frustrated and wondering how many more problems i will be having with this new vehicle and the nearest dealership to me is 100 miles away, which causes me time and expense to get to dealership. this also causes me to wonder how reliable this new vehicle can be in north dakota in the winter time as also not getting much heat out of the heating system either, so between the heat, the gas in the oil and electrical problems i am not feeling that this is a safe dependable vehicle to drive, as a person could freeze to death if ended up stranded when the car shuts down and no heat, like it did when i had my appointment for the recall on 2-12-19 and it had to be put on flat bed truck to get recall done.
Tl* the contact owns a 2018 honda cr-v. while driving various speeds, an abnormal beeping noise was heard and the radio lighting and instrument panel indicators flashed on and off. the vehicle was taken to jenkins honda of leesburg (8865 us-441, leesburg, fl 34788, (352) 815-2482) to be diagnosed, but the cause of the failure was undetermined. the failure recurred. the vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the battery needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted four more times. the manufacturer was notified of the failures. the approximate failure mileage was 23,000.
2018 honda cr-v touring infotainment system flickers, screen turns on and off by it self as well as the brightness of the screen changes by it self and the screen stops responding, weather you are listening to the radio, god, etc all just gets interrupted by the issue. honda won't fix the problem because they claim there is no solution to the problem. a temporary solution is to pull over and turn off car and back on. very distracting while driving and frustrating specially since this happens while you are driving l, this has happen about 5 times in the past 2 months and the car was purchased brand new 5 months ago
While driving the cr-v down the country roads in my area the vehicle started to shake and loose power. the check engine light came on and while trying to find a safe place to pull off the vehicle began loosing power. with the gas pressed to the floor the vehicle would not go above five miles an hour. finding a location to pull over. the vehicle was shut off and the engine was crackling and smelled like it was burning. getting out of vehicle for safety reasons allowed showed that the smell was worse on the outside. the vehicle was towed to the dealership where it was deemed in operable. they provided me with a loaner; however, i am paying for a vehicle that cannot be driven. this vehicle was only off the lot for three months with less than 800 miles.
On multiple occasions, all warning lights and dash warnings come on, all driver assist functions stop working. this has happened both while stationary and while driving at a high rate of speed. i've taken it to the dealer, and they say no errors come up. additionally, yesterday, my wipers started up on their own after opening the tailgate (the car was off at the time) and i couldn't get it to stop. i tried starting and shutting down the car multiple times, as well as disconnecting the battery. (the wipers stopped when the battery was disconnected, but started back as soon as i reconnected it.) after multiple attempts, with the wipers still on, the problem stopped on its own.
Tl* the contact owns a 2018 honda cr-v. while driving approximately 20 mph and attempting to accelerate, the vehicle failed to respond. the vehicle was taken to ken vance honda (located at 2802 lorch ave, eau claire, wi 54701, (715) 318-1641) for a software update, abut the failure recurred. the vehicle was not diagnosed. the contact attempted to notify the manufacturer, but was unsuccessful. the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 43,000.
While driving on the highway at night the entire display (head unit) with the map went off, came back on and then started to behave erratically. i heard beeping sounds as if someone were actually touching the screen, the brightness turned up and down by itself as well. i took it to the dealer and they tested it and said they could not reproduce the problem. i told them that i had videos from when it happened to clearly illustrate the problem but they were not even interested in seeing the videos. they asked me to return if it should happen again. however nonsensical this response, i will take them up on this offer. i wonder what guarantee they have that they will be able to reproduce the problem in the future. if they can't, whatever they are proposing to do then i believe they should have been able to do when i took it in.
We have a 2018 honda cr-v touring and have recently had a critical problem with its collision mitigation braking system. on two occasions, the car has braked when nothing was in front of it. both instances happened at dusk/evening; however, the most recent experience was the most severe. i was accelerating on a road and going about 45 mph when i passed under an overpass/bridge. suddenly, as i was accelerating, the car braked and slowed from 45-50 mph down to 15-20 mph in about five seconds. the severe braking caused everything to fly off my seats, my seatbelt to lock, and gave me whiplash. luckily, there were no other cars around me; otherwise, i am sure i would have been rear-ended. i brought the car to my honda dealer and they said that the sensor may have detected the shadow from the bridge or perhaps rain drops on the road. i asked if this was a known issue and they said other dealers have reported similar cases. the only solution is to disengage the system every time we start the car. currently, honda does not offer another solution.
The active safety and driver assist systems randomly switch themselves on and off while in motion and are unreliable. this has happened at both high and low speeds. it has happen in normal driving weather conditions and cold with snow flurries. this vehicle fails to warm to to "normal" operating tempers especial on mn cold days. it may not warm up period on days where the temperature fall to 15 degrees or lower. on days of 50 degrees or less it warms up when driving highway speeds but in low speed situations it may not warm up at all. there is the distinct smell of gasoline in the car at times. additionally this vehicle appears to have an oil dilution problem as the oil level registers above the max oil level line on a regular basis. in my mind these are all safety issues. i wonder if the safety systems will actually work if and when i need them. i wonder if this car is going to burst into flames as i can small gasoline in the cabin. if i smelled gas in me house they recommend i leave the premises. i can't really do with i am driving down the road. i do have a few pictures of some of the electronic warning and temp gauge but cannot download from this location. i am listing here the first incidence but know there are a few incidences.
2018 honda cr-v bought new, only has 475 miles and getting collision mitigation system, adaptive cruise control, and lane keeping assist problem warning lights are on and we cannot set the adaptive cruise control or use any of these safety features. i've found a blog that has many instances of the same problems and worse to include brake failure. we are taking it to the dealer, brandon honda, brandon fl tomorrow. this should not happen on a brand new car.
I bought a 2018 honda cr-v (1.5l turbo engine) in august. it only has 1700 miles, but so far it has stalled on me 3 times (while driving). the first 2 times, i was under 25 mph and it started stalling. several lights were flashing on the dashboard cautioning engine failure, brake failure, tire pressure failure, etc. the car was making pinging noises while these lights were flashing and it wouldn't drive any longer. i had no choice but to pull over to the side of the road and wait for a tow truck to take me to the dealership. the 3rd time this happened, i was going almost 40mph and it stalled again (same as before). the car was also shaking and stuttering while simply sitting idle. honda said that the crank shaft sensor (cpk) was defective and replaced it...however, that did not fix the problem. when i asked honda if this stalling issue was related to articles describing the ongoing problems with this make/model (in recent years), they refused to acknowledge it and said they couldn't comment because it wasn't a "honda article". i'm sure i'm not the only customer that has come to the dealership with this problem...yet, they refuse to address that it's a serious problem. they also have not declared a recall. this is a serious life-threatening safety hazard. when the car stalled, i wasn't on the expressway, but on local roads; however, i don't feel safe driving this car anymore. i have no idea when it's going to stall again. honda has given no assurances that they know what the problem is or can even fix it.
On 12/21/18, i went to start the vehicle and it started flashing all kinds of alerts on the dashboard. the car would not start. door locks, tailgate would not close via remote or or by pressing the buttons for these functions. no indication that the lights were left on. 2 hours prior the car started without issue. tow was requested. tow truck driver gave the battery a jumpstart and told me to leave the car running for 30 minutes while the system reset. the system did not reset. dashboard alerts for tpms problem, brake system problem, brake hold problem and vehicle stability assistance problem continued to flash. the vehicle was parked at home in driveway from the previous evening. we moved it forward two hours prior to allow space to roll out or trash cans for garbage collection. the vehicle was purchase on july 30th 2018 and has 8322 miles on it. never expected to have an issue of this sort with a brand new vehicle. grateful that it shutdown at home rather than on the highway.
The engine fails to reach full operating temperature. gas is finding its way into the oil pan and producing an overfill condition. the cabin smells of gasoline. the electronics are unreilable and are often of line
While driving the audio system starts beeping, the screen flashes and it makes random phone calls. i took it to the dealer and was told that they did not have a fix for this problem. i am afraid that this distraction could cause an accident. i looked online to find other owners had the same problem. this happens on city streets on the highway and while stationary. i believe this is a major safety hazard. this has happened several times.
Bought new on january 24, 2018. driving car on freeway and at 312 miles all warning light came on, cruise and all other electronic system were down. when we stopped the car and restarted it the computer came back up and work. on the way back at 572 miles on crv the system shut down again, requiring shutting down and starting car up to reset computer. contacted local dealer and they said dust and weather will cause it to fail but there was no dust and clear day. after the dealer work on it said there was nothing wrong, had oil changed at dealer on oct 18th 2018, oct 30 2018 on i 90 east bound the radio locked up and would not work had to restart car to reboot the computer, on nov 5th 2018 at 605pm all warning light came on again had to stop car and restart to get thing running, check oil on nov 19th found that i have a lot of gas in oil, way over dip stick full line
I have been having issues with infotainment screen/system. the system freezes and sometimes goes black and won't respond to touches and or instructions. the car has been to the dealer several times with no permanent fix. also, vehicle temperature remains cold. the car runs and drives for several hours and the temp stays cold with no heat in the cabin. experiencing fuel mixing with oil and sometimes smell of fuel in the cabin is noticeable.high oil level is also present. dealership and honda na both informed me that i will need frequent oil changes until they find a permanent fix.
Tl* the contact owns a 2018 honda cr-v. while driving 40 mph at night, the instrument panel lighting failed to illuminate intermittently. when the failure occurred, the vehicle had to be turned off and restarted for the instrument panel to illuminate again. the vehicle was taken to autofair honda (200 keller st, manchester, nh 03103, (603) 471-3990) and the contact was informed that the vehicle could not be diagnosed unless the failure occurred while at the dealer. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 3,000.
Tl* the contact owns a 2018 honda cr-v. the contact stated that there was an abnormal fuel odor inside the vehicle. the vehicle was taken to autopark honda (located at 3630 old raleigh rd, cary, nc 27511, (919) 467-4747) for an oil change and the dealer diagnosed that there was an engine oil dilution with fuel due to a software setting. the contact was informed that the vehicle was safe to drive and there would be a software update to repair the failure; however, the remedy was not available. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 2,500.
Started noticing engine knocking in the first 500 miles. vehicle only has 2,509 miles mostly freeway driving. purchased april 2018. first drove it in april 409 miles round trip, and then again in may, same mileage and again in august. only started driving it daily to and from work 16 miles round trip in september and it had 1600 miles. i then drove it on october 400 miles round trip and now i smell gasoline in car and it stalled on me while trying to make left turn in intersection. also lights around mirror do not stay on. i don't think i should be smelling gas. not sure what to do.
The car has several electrical problems with the new safety features. on 3 occasions, the car has "hard braked" by itself for no apparent reason (no cars nearby). also, the car "beeps" intermittently when it shouldn't. this indicates a problem also with safety features. the auto walk-away lock feature does not always work. the settings are for car to auto lock & it does sometimes & sometimes it does not! the mirrors light up warning that there is a car in the lane next to me & not to enter lane, it does this when i'm not changing lanes-defective also.
Purchased this car from keating honda in conroe, tx. since day 1 i have had issues with my lcd screen that controls the audio and climate. about mid september i started having issues with it shutting off along with the lcd screen behind the steering wheel that shows how fast i'm going. dealership aware but had issues with getting loaner so unable to drop off for repair. the screen would flicker and shut off while driving or "audio isn't responding" error shows up and both lcd screens go out while driving. i would start the car and would receive an error message like "anti theft system: this system has lost power. press the power key for more than two seconds to enable the system" ... please fix your [xxx]! i was given a warning in conroe because i was speeding and unaware of my speed due to this issue and it seems to be a daily problem for me. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
Car stalls when going up parking ramp, car dies at intersection, car does not sence objects when in reverse, a blue line appears when raining and i reverse obstruction view, electronics freeze and unable to use touch screen...usually happens when raining creating a safety hazard. brakes failed (pedal froze) in reverse. salesman said to let it happen several more times before making a service appointment. the car has been a problem ever since i got it earlier this year...there is only 4,000 miles on it and so far, they changed the battery...explanation i was given is that honda has bad batteries. this after changing oil one week prior and service report indicated good battery. one week after servicing, the car died and had to be towed. the service people at honda said it was all due to a bad battery. brakes failed due to bad battery???? still having problems, car is stalling, panel freezes, sensors don't work...salesman said no loaners available and if you wanted a loaner when you service car, should have bought a lexus or bmw. this after i described all the problems. really unhappy with this car. i believe it's a major safety issue. .brakes failed, panel freezes, car stalls...help!!!!! note this happened as recently as 10/5/18 but really it happened several times since i've had this car. i had it towed once when a light flashed, "brake failure" and i was unable to start the car. the battery was changed - this was in august of 2018.
