Car was idling at a stop light when suddenly the engine almost stopped running. seemed like it had only 1 or 2 cylinders working. was able to get to a parking lot, turn off engine, wouldn't restart. towed in to shop and found gasoline filling 3 cylinders (6 cyl. engine). broke a connecting rod, replaced engine. *tr
2008 accord with v6 vcm/grade logic transmission; car bucks and surges at speeds as the vcm goes in and out of mode; will not downshift even if floored at 30 mph; when on cruise control at highway speeds and on a decline, the car downshifts with such force that passengers are thrown into their shoulder harnesses. *tr
In april 2001, i purchased new honda accord ex from its dealer, planethonda in union, nj. the car had been sore for the last three years. the car was recalled because of faulty transmission. the faulty transmission affected the engine and brakes. not only, honda should have replaced the faulty transmission, but also the engine should have been replaced. the faulty transmission made the car run in the low gear, damaged the engine. my car engine is burning more motor oil and i have to add one quart of oil for every 700-800 miles. i also had to replace the brakes, rotor/drum,brake shoe pads every 6-8 months because of faulty transmission. my car has the side air bag and abs lights on since 30000 miles. i was advised by nhtsa to send the complaint to nhtsa. please forward the copy of the complaint to the appropriate department, so that they can look into the matter. thanks....... ashok kumar *tr
Engine vibration began at 1750 miles after replacing oil control solenoid and oil changed at that time. engine vibrates so bad entire car vibrates. is felt in steering wheel and hands go numb. dangerous! also felt in gas and brake pedal, visor and exhaust system, entire car. stomach gets upset from seat vibration if in car too long. is felt in passenger seat, rear seats! no one wants to ride in my car. was offered replacement vehicle but it had navigation system and they wanted additional $2500 to which i do not want, need or can afford. *cn
Catastrophic oil leak caused by known failure of balancer shaft seal. engine replacement will cost $3500- i was going to sell the car two days from now. last month, another known failure of the igniter left me stranded.*ak
When temperature reaches under 32f, first thing in the morning, the car was warmed up, and after driving 1/2 mile, the car shut-down and won't restart. *ak problem was found to be the fuel pump, according to the mechanic, he has known of at least 20 accords from the same model 98-02, with similar problems, and it all was traced to the same manufacturer who made the fuel pumps.

Vehicle was pulling into a parking stall when the engine suddenly surged. witnesses heard the engine surge, driver was not able to stop going up over a landscape timber and struck a concrete block wall. unknown reason for the engine to surge. driver reported the brakes would not hold the vehicle from forward progress. dt
All oil drained from engine in seconds. balance/counter shaft front oil seal blew out. dt
The balancer shaft seal on the car has blown. causing the oil to drain out at an alarming rate. to fix the problem the engine must be pulled out take apart then replaced. all of this for a seal that costs no more than 20 dollars. mr
