We recently purchased a 2020 honda accord ex. we have driven it about 3200 miles in the 3 months we owned it. during that time it has shifted from drive to neutral 3 times when my wife, while driving forward at normal speeds, lightly brushed the shifter while adjusting a control on the dash or on the steering wheel. the third time she attempted to quickly shift back to drive and because the lock is on the front side of the shift knob it was depressed and she went past drive into super (low gear); the lower gear slowed the car very abruptly (and, of course did so without activating the brake lights) and she was nearly rear ended. this is a very dangerous situation and we are considering selling the vehicle.
Was driving my daughter to school in the 2004 honda accord v6. heard a loud pop and it just stopped and revved up in every gear and when i tried putting it in park it made a loud grinding noise. had to have it towed home and it hasn't worked since!
Purchased new 2019 honda accord sedan on 07/17/2019. while driving on vacation in september 2019 on interstate going around 75 mph reached over to put cup in holder and lightly bumped gear shift. this moved gear shift back from drive to neutral. did not touch button on front of stick to change gears! pushed back on stick to put back into drive and it moved back into drive without braking or using button on stick to change from neutral to drive. this happened again later in september on interstate while going 60 mph by hitting gear stick with my knee while repositioning legs in seat driving. also once again in december on interstate while driving around 60 mph also bumping back of gear stick. i have had no repairs. did ask service department at patty peck honda why this was occuring and they denied that it was even possible.
Driving the car on the highway when suddenly the car begins pulling back, which then is followed by a binking 'd3" on the dash.
2015 honda accord v6 bought as new now with 72k miles has starter problem. car will have a winding/grinding noise when attempting to start (from off and stationary position) but will not start. when inspecting problem, it was found that the flywheel has been damaged likely due to misalignment of torque converter ring gear or bad starter motor. called to honda dealership and they said the components are not covered by warranties. service campaign online was found with reference tsb no. 16-002 issued february 5, 2016. buyer was not aware of such problems since date of purchase as honda never issued a recall or mailed out notification to the buyer. many have reported the issue online. buyer was never made aware of service bulletin via paper or electonic mail, no recall was made, car is now apparently no longer covered under warranty, and requiring multiple parts repairs.
Tl* the contact owns a 2017 honda accord. while driving 80 mph on the highway, the speed reduced significantly. the contact pulled over and attempted to restart the vehicle. the vehicle took awhile to restart, hesitated, and did not smoothly shift gears to accelerate. the vehicle jerked and struggled to gain speed. the vehicle was driven slowly until it finally reached 65 mph; however, it would decelerate on any hill and struggle to gain speed. all the instrument panel indicators illuminated. team honda (6363 siegen ln, baton rouge, la 70809, (225) 298-4100) scheduled an appointment for later in the week. the manufacturer was not notified. the failure mileage was 66,000. the vin was unknown.
I started my car up in the morning and warmed it up for about 15 minutes then as i go to put it in reverse the battery light came on i then put my car in park and turned it off then i turned it back on and the battery light was still on i decided to just go because i have to be at work in an hour as i am driving down i five the radio stopped working like the side of the vehicle started flickering and my headlights turned off and i was now driving down i-5 in the dark. fortunately i made it to my location parked my car and it completely died. i didn't open my hood and started checking my battery and my alternator etc. i confirmed my battery was fine and that my alternator had failed. i then notice fluid was leaking from the power steering pump to the alternator. now my car is has no power and even if i get it jumpstarted it just dies.
