The car will not start intermittently. sometimes it can take 10-30 minutes to try and start it with the key. you will turn the key and it clicks but nothing engages. we had a new key made thinking it may be the chip in the key causing it not to start. that was not the case. took it in to the honda dealership today after my daughter being stranded yesterday because it wouldn't crank. service tech says its the starter. obviously these 2013 hondas have an issue, it's all over google and youtube with many people having the same issue and all low mileage.

Car caught fire starting in engine compartment. was stopped at a stop light, in left turn lane, when smoke was first noticed. i got out of the car and fire progressed in a few minutes to where flames were coming out from under the hood. local fire company extinguished the fire. car appears to be a total loss. safety recall nhtsa 17v-418 was only recently received and had not yet gotten the car to the dealer.
American honda motor co., inc. My 2013 honda accord has an automatic starter and the starter has not been working properly. the vehicle has just over 50k miles on it. when you press the automatic started the vehicle appears to power on but the starter is not working. each time this happened, it would take 5-10 minutes before it actually starts.

Recently had the recall for the battery sensor done on the vehicle. next day the car has intermittent problems starting. returned to dealer battery tests good alternator tests good. was told needs new starter and that honda is aware of starter problems this model . vehicle will work fine one day starts fine then next day takes five to ten tries to start. problem was induced only after bms sensor recal. never had issue prior honda tells me its not the sensor
Sometimes when the key is turned, nothing happens. the car won't start. i took it to the dealer 16 aug 2017. they wanted to change the starter. i said no. this is a car with less than 50,000 miles. sometimes i need to turn the key several times before it starts or cranks or does anything. dealer also said it wouldn't start with them.
My car is 2013 accord bought brand new from gardena honda and no other mechanic touched it. since 2013, i have serviced my car at the same location. my car was perfectly fine however, once i received the battery recall letter i decided to take my car into gardena honda. please note my car still has less than 30,000 miles on it. august 2017 i went to get my car checked for the battery recall they said everything was fine and that they applied konshi bond to protect bms. two days later after work my car did not start (stationary). check engine was on, check steering light on & traction light on plus low pressure on. i immediately felt unsafe to drive my car but had to take it back to honda to see what they had done to it. honda said it was not their fault and that now the problem had nothing to do with my battery. instead, it was my engine wire harness. that needed to be fixed for a price of ~$2,800 but they could lower it to $669.15 + tax i just want to express how disappointed i am in honda. i bought a honda because they are supposed to be a reliable car. back in march 2016 they told me by battery failed the battery test and decided to charge it. november 2016, they made me buy a new battery, at that time my car was still brand new with only 22,000 miles on it. i don't believe this is coincidence. i got a honda for reliability reasons. i also know you are not supposed to service the car for the same issue 3 times and i shouldn't be concern of my 2013 honda car that still has less than 30,000 miles of any electrical issues. i am concern of service fraud because i was charge to recharged and replace the battery. one time i was within warranty and the other was just a few months afterward. i am requesting a reimbursement of some manner; it can be monetary or free servicing my car.
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 honda accord. the contact attempted to start the vehicle, but it failed to start. the contact stated that all the warning indicators illuminated. the vehicle was towed to honda of hackettstown (48 us-46, hackettstown, nj 07840 (908) 852-6200) where it was diagnosed with a malfunctioning starter motor that needed replacement. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure, but did not assist. the failure mileage was 90,536.
Every time i try to start my car it won't start. i have to try maybe 4 or more times before it will start. this is very frustrating because this car is 3 years old. when i'm at work and go to start the car it stags. this is very disturbing. this probably happens everyday. everything is on but it still takes many attempts to start. i contacted honda about this problem and they said they have been getting many complaints but didn't offer a solution, said they would get back with me. reading other complaints i think this need to be addressed.
Intermittent starting issues, push start button, car makes grinding noises and clicking, brake then locks down to the floor. after repeated attempts to push button, car will eventually start..this is an intermittent problem, has occured at least 6 times in past 4 months. does not happen all the time. have had car to honda dealer for diagnostic, they cannot find problem but state there has been multiple complaints from other honda consumers. this issue has no certain time of happening, has occured on a cold and warm start. i never know when car will start or not. taking car back to honda service next week to try to diagnose again.
Honda sensor not fix causing electrical to heat up and smell of electrical wire burn and goes away this happens randomly and usually when i activate turn signal and honda is not able to fix the problem i have taken it to honda dealer service department and they say they fix the problem but problem keeps coming back
In the few years i've had my car, which i take very good care of and have low mileage on, the power steering stopped working suddenly while i was driving (very scary and dangerous!), the driver's side sun visor broke one day when i was trying to put it back up, and the dashboard sensors go off unnecessarily. very disappointing from a honda vehicle. beware!
Vehicle is 2013 and i have replaced the started and battery 4 times due to engine failure, it turn on and immediatly dies off, my car has been towed 6 times or more since i bought, i have done all the maintenance all the time and computer never identifies this problem. i am so tired of this trash car, i stillowe on it or else i would just park it on the front lot of a dealer and put a big sign saying do not buy honda accords, many problems always. lastly, i asked the driver for the tow truck which kind of cars he tows the most due to engine failure and he said, laughing "hondas"...first time it fail to start was at 54k miles.
The i4 engine will not start intermittently. the battery is new and fully charged. many times, i get it started by straightening the steering wheel. the car is 4 years old with 51k miles so outside of warranty. the dealer wants a diagnostic fee to test other components. this is potentially dangerous to consumers for the electrical component but also a consumer hazard in terms of safety not to mention t reputational risk to honda.
Vehicle has had to be towed twice in the past four months due to failure to start, only clicking sound. before completely unable to start, i would have to try 3 or more times for it to start. first time i changed the battery an vehicle was ok for a while but then started failing to start intermittently and would only start after several attempts. i do not mind replacing the starter but it bothers me because the vehicle is only 3-4 year old and believe replacing the starter may not fix the problem in the long run as it would have to be replaced with the same starters that are failing. please help. thanks.
Push button start does not work sometimes. getting progressively worse over time.
There are many many complaints on line about the starters on the 2013 honda accord - but honda still has not made a recall?? this is an expensive part to replace and they are not helping anyone? i am afraid i will get stuck somewhere and my car will not start - but it is almost one thousand dollars to get it repaired!!!! i have to crank it many times before it will start. the one shop made me get a new battery - but that did not make any difference. i feel like i will get stranded somewhere unsafe!

The fcw 03 system failure light continues to come on. the car is only four years old and has had several electrical problems. on june 27, 2017 the car cut off on me while driving on the highway due to the fcw 03 code flashing on and off. i always thought that honda made reliable and safe cars, but this is proving to be untrue. i would appreciate your company addressing the issues at hand with my car. thanks
Car would not start consistently. push button start needed to be engaged up to 10 times for car to eventually start. problem continued to become worse over time. ultimately the starter needed to be replaced after only 3.5 years and approximately 49,000 miles. problem can leave driver stranded at remote locations creating an unsafe condition.
Auto has 37k miles and battery has been replaced twice since new. recently, push button start has failed, requiring multiple tries in kinder to start car. dealer indicated that starter was defective and was replaced for roughly $720. not covered under warranty. internet search reveals that many other owners having similar problems.
For the last month i have to put the vehicle key into the ignition 4-7 times to start the vehicle. today, i took my vehicle to pep boys auto parts in el paso, tx and they diagnosed the vehicle having problems with the starter. the mechanic told me that i need to change the starter because it is wearing out and is a rarity because it is not suppose to happen to a honda accord that is only 3 + years old. i have a 2011 chevrolet tahoe and all engine parts are operating normally. unbelieveable that my honda accord is breaking down on me. please look into this and let me know if there is a recall.
I've own my car for for 1 and 1/2 years and it's dead for the 4th time i had the battery replaced a month after buying the car and am still having problems with it i don't know if it is the starter? it was parked at work for 4 hours then i moved parking spots and shut it off turned back on 10 minutes later to close windows and it's dead.

2013 accord fails to start when using either push button start or dealer installed remote start. engine does not turn over, only a grinding sound is produced. it can take as many as 5 or 6 attempts to start before the starter will actually engage and start the engine. starter replaced in accordance with honda tsb 16-002, but the issue continues. issue first occurred when the vehicle had just over 40k miles and has been happening for last 18 -24 months and is getting worse. this occurs in both warm and cold weather, and with either a hot or cold engine. car now only has 64k miles.
I own a 2013 honda accord lx and it has started having intermittent issues starting. the battery is two months old and has been check and it's fine. starter has been checked and its fine. car will start sometimes on first try, but other times takes several attempts. turning steering sometimes helps, turning off all lights sometimes helps and pressing gas pedal sometimes helps, but issue is not consistent. see others are having same type of issues on several forums.

For the last year, the car has been unable to start after parking it for a few minutes. usually after a few key turns it will start. a month ago it would not start at all so we towed it. the dealership decided it was the starter. after 37,000 miles? it's a honda! it worked fine for 5 weeks and then it died again after being driven just a few miles. this time the dash lights flashed and clicked for a few minutes but would not start. after towing it, the dealership hooked it up to a jumpstart and it started! three lights continued to flash so the dealership hooked it up to the computer. i called them a couple days later and they have no answers. i hate letting my wife drive an unreliable vehicle.
My 2013 honda accord ex started experiencing problems with intermittent starting around 45,000 miles. the dealership is aware of the starter problem, but charged me over $800 to repair it with a new starter button. i was told without repair this problem would get worse till the car would not start at all.

Push start doesn't start the car, there is only 42,000 miles on the car and i've only had the car a little over three years. this should be a recall as it appears to be an electrical issue.
2013 honda accord won't start. lights, a/c, radio, windows work. this occurred after 50,000 miles. i would have to turn steering column at first to get it to start. now it doesn't start at all! the vehicle is stationary

My car is not starting. turn the key and nothing. no dragging noise and no clicking. all the lights come on. seems to be so common at the honda dealership they tell me whats wrong before even examining the car. they say its the starter. having it examined by the 3rd auto mechanic today. only 39,000 miles, should not be having these out of pocket expenses. from all the research i am doing, this should be a recall. *tr
Apparently, honda has been using wiring harnesses that are coated in some sort of soy based material in an effort to go green. unfortunately, this has resulted in an unwanted consequence of rodents being attracted to my car. they are constantly trying to chew through the wires and this can result in a very expensive repair bill from honda. this is something they did to the vehicles they manufacturer, and the fact that they're making us vehicle owners pay for the repair bills is unacceptable to me, but what can you do? i've read online this is not just affecting vehicle owners in rural areas, but owners who live in cities like i do. so far, i've had to use some bitter apple spray that only causes the rodents to try nibbling elsewhere in the engine bay. i don't have any pictures, but i can take some upon request. i'd hate to be driving when something fails.
Battery terminal corrosion - the factory battery had severe corrosion problems after 2 yrs (unlike any of my other 3 cars). on the third year it died and was replaced with a aaa battery. after 6 months this battery is also showing corrosion. this seems to be a common issue after doing google searches. what's worse is the positive batter cable is not an easy nor economical replacement once the corrosion finds its way inside. i believe the corrosion is happening because of the 'smart charging system' honda is using on this vehicle. never seen this problem in my 30+ yrs of owning dozens of cars.
