tl* the contact owns a 2009 honda accord. while driving approximately 65 mph, the contact heard an explosive sound. while the sun roof was open, the contact discovered that the sun roof glass shattered. the following day, the vehicle was driven to the dealer (arrowhead honda in peoria, arizona) where it was determined that the sun roof exploded for no apparent reason. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was contacted and the contact left a voice message. the approximate failure mileage was 110,000.
The sunroof shattered for no apparent reasons, no cars nearby, sunny day. there was a pop, then the sunroof glasses started to come down. *tr
I was driving my 2009 honda accord on the interstate i-44 east near fort leonard wood missouri. no other vehicles were in front of me or around me. weather was clear, temperature was in the mid 50s. no impact to the vehicle occurred. the sunroof on my vehicle spontaneously shattered and exploded sending glass throughout the interior of the car. further, while cleaning up the glass many of the pieces were sharp and glass splinters were prevalent. there were numerous nicks and cuts on my hands and my son's hands from cleaning up the glass which was everywhere. if anyone had been in the back seat of the car (particularly a child), they could have been seriously hurt. my son witnessed this as well - he was sitting in the passenger seat. again, both of us can confirm that there were no vehicles in front or to the side of us and nothing happened (such as a rock from a vehicle in front) that would have caused the sunroof to shatter. further, the fact that it shattered the way it did with sharp glass and splintering throughout the car is problematic. i have tried to address this matter with honda to no avail. i consider this a significant safety issue. a sunroof should never explode in this matter absent a manufacturing defect. more importantly, had those small, sharp shards of glass and splinters hit someone's eyes in the backseat of the car, it could have resulted a very serious injury. based upon searches on the internet, other honda owners have experienced the same occurrence. *tr
I was driving up i-95 north in about woodbridge, virginia at about 60-65mph. suddenly, i heard a noise that sounded like a gun shot and a loud wind sound as if the window was open. i pulled over on the side of the road and pulled back my sunroof shade, come to find that the entire sunroof glass was completely shattered. i immediately put the shade back and drove home and immediately called my insurance company. i did not witness anything hitting my car, the only thing that i could determine is that i had my heater turned on high because it was so cold that day. my assumption is the extreme temperature differences and pressure that caused my sunroof to shatter. *tr
Drivers side window motor has stopped working not allowing window to roll up/down. the dealer is attempting to say it is the after market tinting. i have had the same tinting on all four windows since a few days after i purchased the car, but driver's side is the only window that the motor will no longer work. my husband's civic has the same issue on his driver's side window. *tr
Pulled sun visor down and something broke, now it just hangs about half way down, seems to be a lot of this with civics as well according to postings on the web. this is a distraction and blocks view of driver.
Since the first incident i have had a clicking noise coming from the ac on the right side vent on my 2009 honda accord. it is october of 2011 and the dealer has now replaced the same blower motor 3 times. it alleviates the issue, only for it to return. the dealer has no other explanation. also, i have replaced 2 door actuator motors. this car was bought in december of 2009 and it is october of 2011. i will not buy another honda due to having issues occur repeatedly and so soon after a new purchase. obviously brakes have to be fixed again and again. *tr
I have a 2009 honda accord. i began having problems with the a/c not cooling, so i took to the dealership for assessment. i was informed that a line was not working and i had a freon leak. they placed dye in the fluid to determine where the leak originated. they determined it was coming from the condenser. this part is located in the grill of the car and isn't protected in any way and they decided it had been damaged, without proof, from something i had hit, such as a rock. they then inform me that my full warranty does not cover it, and informed me it would cost $432.00 to repair. they also cannot guarantee that it will not occur again and again. the freon continues to leak and will not cool the car. it also causes a foul smell to come into the car. i do not believe consumers should be responsible for paying to replace a part that is put in a place that is vulnerable to debris or anything, without protecting it in some way. *tr
I was driving my 2009 honda accord 4dr sdn about 70 miles per hr. when the glass on the sunroof blew out the top. it was not hit by a rock or anything as we were not following anyone or met anyone going in the opposite direction. the glass was almost all sucked up and out the top so very little fell in on us. we took it to dealer and had the repairs made. *tr
Windshield wipers do not clear windows during rainy weather. on the upswing the passenger side wiper moves the water from the passenger side onto the driver's side of the windshield. this causes the driver's visibility to be deteriorated significantly in rainy weather by never clearing the windshield of water. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2009 honda accord. while looking through the side and rear mirrors, the contact stated the vehicle appeared to be closer than it was causing the drivers judgment to be altered. the dealer and manufacturer were made aware of the failure and offered no assistance. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 0 and the current mileage was 24,000. the vin was unavailable.
Tl*the contact owns a 2009 honda accord. the front drivers side windshield wiper does not properly remove water while driving in rainy conditions. when the wipers are in the down position the wiper blade pulls water back onto the windshield. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where he was informed that the windshield wiper was operating as it was designed. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 10 and the current mileage was 12,000.
