Lights blinking out on dashboard while driving...works periodically
Takata recall i am afraid to drivbe my car because of these issues
The dashboard illumination lighting failed on my honda 2000 accord ex v6 while driving during night time. the dimmer switch had no response to its control. right now there is no lighting in the dashboard. *tr
The srs light has come on my 2000 accord. now it is past the extended warranty of 10 years. i got suckered into paying $100 to honda for them to diagnose. they came back and said the opds needs to be replaced and the airbag won't deploy because of the srs light on. they wanted another $300 to replace. i decided not to replace because i am not convinced it won't fail again but now i am driving around knowing my airbags won't deploy. there is an obvious faultiness with the srs and opds and i can't believe that honda feel a warranty extension is sufficient. they should be recalling this serious safety problem. *tr
My nighttime dashboard lights have stopped working on my honda accord ex v6. i can no longer see my gauges at night. doing some searching it appears that the multiplex control unit may have failed. it looks like honda has recalled this on 2000 accord lx v6 but not the ex. *tr
Http://www.aboutautomobile.com/complaint/2000/honda/accord/interior+lighting . i recently had this issue happen to my car while i was driving and i feared about not being able to get home that night. my dash lights went out and my tail lights and signal lights, but my headlights were still working. the recall includes only some 2000 honda accord models, and not all of them. like the ones in the forum listed i myself was not included in this recall.
The brake lights were failing intermittently without my knowledge. the only indication was that the automatic console shifter would not unlock sometimes. both conditions were caused be a defective switch under the brake pedal. *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2000 honda accord. the contact noticed that the tail lights were not illuminating on the vehicle. the lighting on the license plate had also blown out and the instrument panel lights would not illuminate. he replaced the lighting on the vehicle. the failure and current mileages were less than 142,000. updated 11/12/08. *lj updated 11/14/08. *jb
Brake light failure on exterior of vehicle. high brake light in rear window will light up, but other brake lights do not light up when brake is depressed. took to honda of seattle. they took electrical wiring apart and put it back together, and it worked temporarily, but they did know why it was fixed. one week later, my brake lights are out again. *tr
I & my inlaw bought the 2000 honda accord ex in the same week (9/1999), after 7 years, the srs light came on at the same time with no incidents occurred. also in the last couple days, the brake light came on. i called honda manufacturer, they rejected the problem because only certain vehicle they cover up to 10 years on the opds (occupant position detection system) unit, which failed and caused the srs light came on. *tr
I recently purchased a set of 2000 honda accord 1 piece projector headlights from 4caroption.com. few days after i installed the headlights i got pulled over by a police officer and was asked to put back my original headlights because i am required by law to have an amber reflector on my headlights. 4caroption.com never advised me about the headlights' design is against the law. i called 4caroption to ask for a full refund, but they told me they would only give me half of the payment back since i installed the headlights already. nm
Stop lights do not work. no indicator light to warn driver that lights are not working.(bulbs are not burned out, stop light switch is working)
When car is driven during hot days and you turn the car off, it will not start again tell the car cools off. this happens during the summer months.now that the car is older, it will not start at all during some of the hot days. this include when i start the car for first time that day. took the car in once years ago and they said they fixed it but i keep having the same problem. they wanted to charge me more money to try to fix it again. front passage headlights always been foggy. car also never hugged the road right. dealership could never find the problem.
The srs airbag light came on at approximately 69,000 mi.the car was taken to dealer and no fault codes were found on the computer. i had the delphi alternator load tested and determined that could be the culprit. during this time, i also had both of my headlamps burned out within weeks of each other. i replaced the alternator with an aftermarket one and have not had any problems since. *ak

The alternator went out on the car with approximately 55,000 miles which is way too soon. the check engine light came on a couple of weeks later and had to replace the egr valve (covered under warranty). the right headlamp has been replaced at least 5 times since owning the car. it has been checked for an electrical short and nothing could be found. the factory-installed cd player failed at approximately 37,000 miles. i have always heard good things about the honda, but i have not been too pleased with all the little nitpicking stuff. the original tires were replaced at the approximately 50000 mile mark. the new tires were dunlaps which failed within 8 months. hopefully the new ones will make it.*ak
At first right light blewout; then, left side light went out. consumer felt unsafe because there was a chance of being rear ended. *ak consumer while traveling on highway a motorist told him that consumer had no brake lights this was the second time in one year due to horn shortening out, first the left brake light and then the right one, also shifter will not come out of park unless the emergency release is used.*jb
