Tl* the contact owns a 2002 gmc yukon. the contact stated while driving 25 mph there was a banging noise coming from the rear of the vehicle. the contact drove home and noticed that the shock mounts that were attached to the frame was rusted and corroded. the dealer was notified who offered no assistance. there were no recalls for the failure. the manufacturer was notified who offered no assistance. the failure mileage was 62,000.
2002 gmc yukon front wheel assembly had to be replaced. *ts after the recall for the wheel speed sensor was complete the dealer claimed they also had to replace the left hub assembly due to corrosion. the replacement of the hub was not going to be cover under warranty because it had expired. *nm
Consumer complaint regarding 2002 gmc not being included in recall. the vehicle would skid and grind when the brake pedal was applied. *ts the consumer took the vehicle to the dealer to be serviced for recall 05v379000. the dealer informed the consumer that his vehicle was not included in the recall therefore they would not repair it. the same day the vehicle was taken to a local repair facility where they replaced the left front unitized bearing and front wheel drive hub assembly. *nm
Knocking noice is heard coming from the front of the vehicle and is felt as a "clunk" through the steering wheel. this is the 2nd time in 6 months that this has occurred. the first time was when the vehicle had 30000 miles on it and it was taken to the dealer and fixed under factory warranty. the vehicle now has 45000 miles on it and the problem is happening again.*ak
Consumer states that while driving and with no warning a loud noise was coming from the steering wheel causing a distraction to the consumer. *ak
