Tread separated from cooper tire discovery h/t and then blew out as the vehicle was traveling at 65 mph on the florida turnpike. luckily, there was no auto accident, but the brake lines were severed.
Tl* the contact owns a 2002 gmc yukon. the contact stated that while driving at approximately 45 mph, the abs and the brake warning lights illuminated continuously. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the hub assemblies needed to be replaced. the driver side hub assembly was replaced but the passenger side was not replaced. the vin was not included nhtsa campaign number: 07e106000 (wheels). the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 240,000.
Abs activates during slow stops, increases stopping distance. dealer performed recall 05v37900 and problem persists. dealer replaced both front speed sensors and problem persists. i believe problem is corrosion in front wheel hubs on tone ring. recall does not address that part.
Tl*the contact owns a 2002 gmc yukon. while driving 10 mph, the abs activated and the contact heard a fluttering noise. the failure also occurred when the brake pedal was depressed. the dealer stated that the wheel hubs needed to be replaced and informed the contact that her vin was not included in nhtsa campaign id number 07e106000 (wheels:cap/cover/hub). the purchase date was unknown. the current mileage was 30,880 and failure mileage was 23,700.
