While driving 45mph on a straightaway highway , three warnings came on "reduced engine power" "service stabilitrak" and "traction control off" then the vehicle lost power cars behind me and nowhere to pull off the car had lost power it would not get over fifteen mph. taking it into be serviced .i have already had the transmission replaced

So got my first gm and will be last one u can not fix this car it wont let you and not talking about normal maintenance have only had 2 year just got back after having transmission rebuilt had motor rebuilt last summer do to timing chain took on 100 mile trip today now gauges are freaking out about every 5th time u start it have code p0449 wich wasnt there before but obviously has nothing to do with transmission then get home tonight and its got p0019 so basically looks like il be having to have motor rebuilt again if i dont burn to ground first so all and all not counting maintenance on it like struts tires oil change you no normal wear and tear just in the motor and transmission in 2 years il have 11.000 wraped up in a suv thats worth about 7000 and wont let u get out from under it it is the worst money pit i have ever had. for every thing u fix on it it creates 3 more

Purchased this car aug 2017 fixed moon roof clogs and leaks on the inside, passenger side window will not go down on drivers controls, stabilitrak system shuts off, making the car hard to steer, check engine lights comes on, codes 700-shift solenoid a stuck; code 752-transmission control system, acceleration is unreliable and goes into "limp home mode" where it will not allow me to go over 40-45mph and rpm does not go down, it will not shift easily from park to drive or reverse

Shortly after purchasing 2007 acadia it rained and my front floorboards flooded due to the sunroof clogging up. it overflowed into the car bc it couldn't drain. transmission shutters at 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear only at low speeds or under tension. navigation keeps saying disc read error. supposed to be able to get 2 free disc with the life of the car but it nearly impossible to get. i hate this car. i have had nothing but problems with it since we have gotten it. i am almost due to upgrade and i will not be getting an acadia.

Transmission basically blew up driving through the city and was fixed and is now slipping again...u joints and strut keep messing up

While driving on the interstate going 60 mph the suv jerked and then the rpm accelerated and then slowed down. i had to take my foot off the accelerator. i was almost hit by a 18 wheeler. it really happens when i have the air conditioner on.

We got this 2007 gmc acadia at 100,230 miles on august 2014. now it has around 133,800 miles. at 115,000 miles it stated to have issues where it said stability track. the traction control turns off by itself and not sure if the stability and this are the same thing. some electric parts have already failed. the charging outlet and electric windows don't work right. the passenger side can not be put down by driver side. the rear right side can only be put down of up by the driver. the left rear does not work when the driver puts it down or up. the power in the lift gate in the back has gone out. it only opens or closes manually. there was also a recall with the lift gate and we got it fixed. after it was fixed then a while later it would close on us and it almost hit us but we reacted fast. it only closed on us about three times then it stopped working. it was recall 15240.the safety issue is that the steering wheel gets hard to turn when making a turn or u turn. it has happened many times as i am driving. one time is almost made me crash into a car. i have taken it to two mechanics and it has engine and transmission codes. for just the transmission codes it will cost me up to $4,000. according to the carfax records it has had internal transmission repairs at 53,543 miles. i feel like this car post a safety issue because of the steering wheel problem. we have had this car for 3years and we have experienced many problems with it. gm should pay for this faulty parts.

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 gmc acadia. while driving various speeds, the vehicle jerked and hesitated when switching gears. the failure was also present while driving in reverse. the failure was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure and did not assist. the local dealer was not notified. the failure mileage was 61,000.

Takata recall my transmision makes the gear vibrate betwen 2nd and 3rd and 3rd and 4rd usually and the check engine say is torque converter clutch (tcc) stuck off , tcc enable valve stuck in off position , i allredy remplaced at completed tcm into the transmission and not work !! so if u can help me plz i would really appreciate it

Gmc transmissions are crap, going on the third one. the airbag light is on for what the recall is for but gmc is denying the recall

2016 both front and back ac had to be replaced, currently transmission is slipping, rear lift gate, after recall fix, still won't shut -takes up to 3-4 times to close lift gate when nothing is in the way, dvd/cd player stopped working in 2015

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 gmc acadia. the contact stated that the vehicle failed to accelerate when the accelerator pedal was applied numerous times. in addition, the transmission failed to function properly when shifting and various warning indicators illuminated. within a week of owning the vehicle, it was taken to the dealer (shoreline auto group inc, 2275 n state rd, ionia, mi 48846, (616) 523-6882). the dealer kept the vehicle for over a month due to no sound for the turn signals, various warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel, and the vehicle was slow to pick up speed. the dealer was unable to replicate and diagnose the failure for over a month. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for further diagnostic testing. the manufacturer was notified of the failures months later to determine if they may be able to provide a solution to repair the vehicle. the approximate failure mileage was 14,000.

Transmission problems and saund problems

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 gmc acadia. the contact stated that there was a failure with the transmission gears. the vehicle was downshifting in a rough and jerked. a dealer was not contacted. the vehicle was diagnosed by two independent mechanics who stated that the transmission assembly might need to be replaced. there were 36 tsbs for the power train, but no recall was issued. it was unknown if the manufacturer was contacted. the failure mileage was not available.

Transmission keeps slipping and sliding out of gear (it work sometime smoothly )especially when i'm driving

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 gmc acadia. while driving various speeds, the transmission stalled without warning. the vehicle was not taken to a dealer or diagnosed. the vehicle was repaired. also, while driving, the headlight switch became inoperable. as a result, the contact was unaware of when the headlights were on or off. there were no warning indicators illuminated. the vehicle was not taken to a dealer or diagnosed. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 75,000.

Overdrive function faulty in transmission. during cold weather stability trac kicks in and will not regain power even though there is no bad road conditions (such as snow, ice, or rain) it seems to activate when the weather is cold. it barley moves inhibiting normal traffic flow which is very dangerous. fixed moon roof leaks causing the electrical components to malfunction and rain water drips on passengers and thoroughly soaks the carpets leaving a mildew smell.

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 gmc acadia. while the vehicle was parked with the engine turned off, a passenger attempted to enter the vehicle and hit the gear shifter. as a result, the gear shifter moved out of the park position and the vehicle rolled forward into a ditch. the air bags failed to deploy. there were no injuries. a tow truck was able to pull the vehicle out of the ditch. the vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 122,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 gmc acadia. while the contact's 5-year old son was inside the vehicle, the gear shifter was switched to the neutral position. the vehicle rolled down an embankment and crashed into a creek. the keys were not present in the ignition switch at the time of the failure. the occupant sustained a bruised back and left arm, which required medical attention. a police report was filed. the cause of the failure was not determined. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 151,000. updated 01/04/17*lj updated 01/17/17.*jb

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 gmc acadia. while driving 25 mph, the gear shifter became stuck in gear without warning. the failure was persistent. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission control module failed and needed to be repaired. the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. the vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission failed and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 110,000.

Transmission high idle engine light came on and its not holding fluid

Going down the expressway at 70 mph. vehicle started hesitating and wouldn't go. i had to pull off to the shoulder of road in a construction zone. had it towed to the closeset mechanic. was told it was the wave plate on transmission. yes, my 2007 gmc acadia has 140,000 miles on it. but this part is defective. i have never been so scared.. luckily i wasn't hit.

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 gmc acadia. while driving 70 mph, the transmission failed. the vehicle was taken to a dealer for repair. the manufacturer was made aware of the issue. the failure mileage was 100,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 gmc acadia. the contact stated that while driving approximately 60 mph, the vehicle stalled after the transmission warning indicator illuminated. the vehicle did restart. the vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed that the wave plate and transmission valve body were faulty and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 90,000.

The sunroof leaks and causes electrical problems. suddenly while driving the power steering gears, rack, and bushings are defective causing the power steering to go out during low speeds. tried having it replaced under the recall, however, 9 months later the same thing happened and nobody wants to fix it or allows for the dealer to replace it again. this is a major safety feature that should never be acceptable! also, the transmission already had to be replaced and is going out again. the manufacture made a faulty vehicle and should be held accountable for these parts and the labor not to mention the inconvenience of having to fight with the dealer and gm to get the problem corrected.

Tl*the contact owns a 2007 gmc acadia. the contact stated that while driving up a hill at approximately 15 mph, the vehicle started shaking without warning. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the 35r wave plate needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 139,000.

Major shuttering in transmission harsh shifting making hard to accelerate. *tr

Upon entering the highway the 2007 acadia would not shift either into or out of 3rd gear, i'm not sure. i could not tell what was happening and when i determined this was not going to correct itself i exited the highway. i've recieved a letter from gm stating that vehicles equiped with 6t70 and 6t75 6 speed automatic transmissions are experiencing cracked or fractured wave plates. this clearly is a faulty part as it is occurring on many versions of this vehicle and has been upgraded. i was lucky in that it was only me in the auto and not the entire family when this happened. very dangerous.

I had problems with the transmission when my vehicle had around 61,000 miles. vehicle was not going over 25 mph and sometime it did not run at all. i took it several times to the dealer, actually a town truck had to take it because it was very dangerous to drive it. it took a lot of time and effort for me to finally get my gmc acadia fixed. that was in 2015. two years later i had problems with my transmission again, my gmc has now 104,000 miles. i went back to the gmc dealer where it was repaired before, but they told me that guarantee had ended 2 months ago and i had to pay $1,021 to get the transmission fixed. i'm also having problems with hood lift and the headlight swith is not working

Transmission wave plate went out. vehicle came to sudden stop in middle of busy intersection and then would not move. my wife almost got rear ended and was stranded. this is a known problem in these cars and needs to be fixed. *tr

While driving down the road, the acadia would not shift out of first gear. *tr

our 2007 gmc acadia began slipping and stutter stepping in reverse. if on a hill it was very noticeable and felt like you were slipping on ice before reverse gear would engage. then on slow acceleration form a traffic light slippage would occur and a rough change in the gear exchange for normal traffic speed. had it diagnosed at a reputable local repair shop and they said it was a warped wave plate and a new or rebuilt transmission was required, the repair cost with warranty would be 4,225.00. we took it to the dealer where we purchased the acadia. they also diagnosed it as a defective wave plate, recommending a new transmission or at least to rebuild it. new transmission to cost 5,890.00 the wave plate on the 2007 acadia'shave caused a great many problems for other owners and its reported they were not properly heat treated when manufactured. they break apart after just so many engages caused when shifting and almost always shortly after the 50,000 mile warranty. filed a complaint with gm requesting assistance with repairs due to a faulty part they should have been aware of. they said they would get back to me, but never did. we repaired it at the local repair shop costing 4,225.23 cents with a 5 year 100,000 mile warranty. *tr

While driving on the highway at 60 mph and then accelerating the transmission will violently slip while shifting into a lower gear. *tr

Transmission failure. we were driving out of town on an interstate highway approximately 65 mph and engine suddenly revved indicating that the transmission was disengaged. could not accelerate and had to coast to the side of the road in a construction zone. there was no warning of the impending failure other than some transmission slippage earlier in the trip. transmission did not work at all in drive or reverse. had to be towed to an out of town shop and rent a car to get back home. repair shop stated that transmission had failed and needed to be replaced (approx. $4,500) and that it was a common problem. shocking that it failed at such low mileage. we were advise by our local repair shop to contact gm but they have not contacted us back. we have no choice but to get the repairs done so we have the vehicle back. i just wanted to include our incident along with the many other complaints. we will warn other acadia owners who we know of the problem (acadias are common where we live) and the many other problems that it has (based on the numerous other complaints and service bulletins). *tr

I bought a new gmc acadia in 2007. january 8, 2008 gmc did a software upgrade to my transmission. at that point my mileage dropped about 6 miles per gallon and did not shift as nice as original. in late summer of 2014 i notice that my transmission was not right. on september 16, 2014 i had to replace the transmission at a cost of $3,999 at only 123,228 miles. this car was built and advertised to pull boats and campers. i have not pulled anything ever with the car. in march of 2015 i received a letter from gmc that they would reimburse 2007 gmc acadia owners if they have had problems with the transmission. the car must be under 10 years old and under 120,000 miles. my car was under 10 years old, but over on mileage by 3,228 miles. gmc would not cover any of it. it is pretty poor when a car company can not build a $40,000 car with a transmission that would last. *tr

Driving on highway on labor day. suddenly my gmc acadia transmission starts slipping and i am in heavy traffic. my vehicle starts slowing down and i have no control of speed. lucky for me and my son i was able to maneuver my car to the side of the road without creating an accident. i look online to find that this is a common problem for many cars with this transmission. why is this not a recall?? *tr

The transmission went out. i only have 70k miles on the car and we had to replace the entire transmission. it cost me several thousand dollars to get it fixed! i am thankful that when it happened, my husband was pulling into a parking lot and not going down a freeway with our children in the car. as i investigate this issue with the 2007 acadia's i'm finding that the transmission failure is a huge issue! please gmc fix this problem before lives are lost. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 gmc acadia. the contact stated that while driving at 65 mph and attempting to accelerate, the vehicle rpms increased but the vehicle failed to accelerate. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who stated there was an unknown transmission failure which caused the vehicle not to shift properly. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 69,000. updated 09/04/14 updated 9/11/14*cn updated 1/20/2015 *js

Steering locks up when driving down the road causing you to lose all control of your vehicles steering. we almost hit traffic light and hit by a semi on the interstate. also transmission failed and will loose all power when your driving down the road. this vehicle is dangerous to drive and is a very common problem. this needs to be recalled or a class action lawsuit needs to be opened. this vehicle only has 88,000 miles on it and is a hazard to drive. *tr

Vehicle transmission failed. wave plate destructed ruining transmission. no warning. traffic behind was forced to slam on brakes and swerve. caused traffic jam. very dangerous. known manufacturing defect by gm. refuse to recall. hundreds of complaints that have the 6t70/75 transmission (enclave, saturn, some fords). *tr

On highway, transmission was stuck and would not shift. check engine light turned on. was attempting to merge onto busy highway and due to high engine revving and not shifting had to keep the vehicle under 45 mph. merging was dangerous and had to drive under very busy conditions and leave the highway quickly. did so luckily and returned home safely. once home with self-purchased diagnostics tool read error codes p0017, p0716 and p0700, some pertaining to timing chain stretch (known issues on this vehicle) and transmission plate issues (also known). gm has never contacted me regarding these and i consider this vehicle unsafe with very little warning about what appear to be 2 manufacturer-known (gmc) issues regarding timing chain stretch and faulty transmissions right at about the time power train warranties expire. we are just over the warranty expiration of 100,000 miles on powertrain and are staring at significant expense and a car we just don't trust anymore. *tr

Transmission was acting up two months ago so took to gm to get fixed. they put new computer in and stated problem was fixed. car was fine but now shakes very badly when acceleration from 20-40 mph. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 gmc acadia. the contact stated that whenever she attempted to accelerate, there was a sudden increase of engine rpms and the vehicle failed to gain speed. also, the contact mentioned that the vehicle failed to shift into gear. the vehicle was taken to the dealer. the technician diagnosed that the transmission was defective and needed to be replaced. in addition, the contact mentioned that burning fumes were emitted into the vehicle. the contact stated that after inspecting the vehicle, she noticed that wires were burning in the engine compartment. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the vin was not available. the failure mileage was 48,000 and the current mileage was 48,060.

2007 gmc acadia...it has 62000 miles on it & just in march we had a problem with a metal on metal scraping sound(& you could feel it when you braked) like it needed new brakes but brake pads were like new. and the service airbag light is on, then service traction control message, & service stabilitrack message came on too & it started jerking when you hit the brakes like the abs brakes were kicking in. so we took it to robinson's & they turned the rotars & rotated my tires & when i got it back it rode like a dune buggy. took it back & said it needed new struts cause "something" stayed in a locked position or another. so then we got it back & the scrubbing noise/feeling came back with the brakes again so then they finally just put new brakes on it & so far so good $1000 later! now, this morning i was in a drive thru & it felt like my car was in neutral when i tried to go forward & i had to look to see if i moved the gears & then i noticed the orange engine light was on. it barely wanted to go & the rpms just kept getting higher & higher & it was struggling to move so i pulled over & had onstar run diagnostics & codes po700 & po716 power train detected malfunction transmissions & transmission not performing as expected!! i noticed after she ran the test my car sounded like it changed back to normal while running so i cut it off & back on & it drove ok back home but now we have to have it looked at & i'm just sick to my stomach over this! it looks like it's gonna be a broken wave plate & ending up resulting in a new transmission i can not afford!!! i know it's 2007 but with such low mileage & in great condition i wouldn't think it should have all these problems especially with the transmission!! i have read so many reports on the same issues which are beyond ridiculous considering how much you pay for these vehicles!!!! this is totally unsafe & needs a recall asap!!! *js

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 gmc acadia. the contact stated while driving approximately 40 mph, the vehicle suddenly stalled and the transmission light illuminated. the vehicle was towed to a dealer who could not diagnose the cause of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 62,000. the vin was not available.

Wave plate broke and transmission being rebuilt. *tr

2007 gmc acadia with 108,000 miles. check engine light appeared and the transmission went into safe mode and would not shift out of 2nd gear. code generated was the "shift solenoid stuck open". transmission shop stated that the transmission will totally fail soon and needed to be rebuild at a cost of $4500. the transmission guy said that i was lucky to get over 100,000 miles because they usually fail between 80-90,000 miles. he stated it was a horrible design for a transmission and inadequate parts were used inside. not an uncommon problem for this vehicle. researching all of the complaints, there should be a recall. gm's attitude is that the warranty is up and it's your problem, so you must pay for our design flaws. *tr

Was driving car and transmission started acting up. car would shake when shifting gears. service engine light came on. took to service garage and said would need to rebuild transmission. *tr
